To allow people to appreciate the arts, to allow people to admire the artifacts, to allow people to enlighten themselves with the historical world – museums should be free of charge. A free adventure through the museum is exceedingly beneficial.
It can be argued that charging people for admission to museums can be advantageous as museums (an essential part of the tourism industry) attracts both tourists and locals who wish to explore the unique culture and traditions of the locality for which a source of income can be obtained for the museum. Additionally, using those funds can help during occasional, expensive exhibitions that are organized. The monetary burden due to recruiting professional guides and cutting-edge equipment can be eased just by charging people an entry fee.
Despite the benefits, an admission free museum will have greater virtues. Firstly, museums are a paramount source of knowledge. The antiquity of your country, the scintillating craftmanship of your predecessors, all remains in the museum. People should not be restricted from such an educational institution due to monetary problems. Moreover, in developing countries, museums are one of the few activities free of charge. Having to pay for a trip through the museum would ultimately discourage visitors− as well as, engender them to indulge in different activities.
Conclusively, with decreasing number of visitors because of paid museum visits, it is impossible to secure a stable source of income. Therefore, it can be agreed that the disadvantages of charging people for admission to museums outweigh the advantages.
