A/N: This is not cannon to All Might's story. I don't want to mess with that since there isn't a whole lot of information on it. Thanks.
Akuma was a broken girl.
Toshinori was the popular kid of 1-A. Training hard with a smile on his face.
Akuma didn't give up though. She worked hard on her quirk training. She passed all of her classes with flying colors. No one knew her secret though. No one knew that she had a strict father. No one knew that she was the secret spy in class 1-A. No one knew that she was reluctantly feeding her father information about the school. Akuma was growing tired of being the bad guy. She loved being a pirate. She loved traveling the seven seas. She loved being on a ship. She didn't like murdering innocent people. She didn't love her family. She wished that her father would get caught.
She came to school one day with the slamming thoughts in her head. All she could think about it was ending it all. She wanted her life to change for the best but she was knee deep already. She was too far into it. If she left now, her father would murder her in a heartbeat. It had happened to her older brother.
"Are you alright?" Toshinori asked. He was smiling at her, waving his hand in front of her face. She gave him a small, fake smile. She nods, taking her usual seat beside him. He knew that there was something wrong with her. He could see it in her eyes. He could see it in her body language. Toshinkri saw that her muscles were tense. He saw a new mark on her hand. Her skin was a bit paler then normal. She usually had lightly tanned, beautiful skin. He could tell when she was low on iron. He tapped her shoulder. She looked at him with her green shimmering eyes.
"You need iron." He comments.
"I am fine, thanks." She said and looks forward. Toshinori frowned.
She wasn't fine. There was something wrong and she was going to snap. Toshinori kept an eye on her for the rest of the day. He trained with her during class. She was angry and bitter. She was sloppy with her quirk. She had attempted to use her chain whip which had only left her screaming. Her palms were busted open and bleeding all over the ground. Toshinori offered to bring her to the nurse. That is when she had snapped.
"I don't need you! Go away, Yagi!"
It felt like she had slammed a punch through his chest. She stomped off the arena leaving class 1-A and their teacher looking at her as she walked off. Toshinori knew that she had family issues, even though she hardly talked about them. For the last few months he had known her, she hadn't said much about her family or her past. Toshinori didn't want to push her on the subject. It seemed to be a hard subject for her so he left it.
Akuma didn't know what else to do. She didn't go to the nurse. She was going to heal on her own thanks to the poison in her blood. The poison will heal her but her only curse is that she will live eternally. It was the pirate curse, given to all pirates who joined her fathers ship. Her brother had only died because he was drained of his blood by the vampire like quirk person on the ship.
She hated herself.
She worked hard to become something she didn't want to be. She didn't want to be a villain. She never wanted to be. She was forced to become on. She was groomed into the family business. When she heard that her mission was to be a spy for UA Highschool, he took the opportunity. She wanted to be a hero. She had dreamed about it for so long. She had her costume picked out. She had her name plastered on her cabin in the ship.
Captain Cannon.
She wanted to be on of the greats. She knew that she could do it. But having her father's constant negativity and abuse in her life made it hard to live her dream. She started to have horrible thoughts because of him. He was so proud of her for following his foofootsteps. He was finally showing her some type of fatherly affection towards her. She was confused. She was hurting physically and emotionally.
Did anyone really love her?
She thought of Toshinori. Her best friend. Her only and first best friend. She had her crew mates but they weren't the most kind. When she came to UA, Toshinori had grabbed her attention. He was tall with beautiful blue eyes. He had a smile that made her heart flutter. He had blond hair that framed his face. He always made her smile. Not only that but he challenged her. He had a physical quirk like her. They would battle and spend time after school training. She gave him pointers on what to do. She started to feel deeper affection towards him.
She didn't know what it was but she knew that she needed to stop.
A pirate shouldn't love another.
Her father talked about putting her into an arranged marriage. One that would fit her quirk perfectly. It was going to happen when she graduated UA. Unless he could find a suitable mate sooner.
She felt sick.
She didn't want this anymore. This isn't the life that she wanted. She started to walk towards the beach. It was her favorite place to go to. She needed an escape. She wanted the oceans. She wanted to feel the ocean kiss her skin. She wanted the water to take her away from all of her troubles. Akuma hadn't noticed her best friend following her. He was worried about her. He had been all day. He knew that there was something wrong , he could feel it in the pit of his stomach.
He noticed that she was making her way towards the beach. It was her favorite place to go when she was upset. He had came with her one time before. She had been quiet during the walk. He noticed how she reacted to the ocean waves crashing onto the shore. Her muscles would relax. She would smile. She had her eyes closed. She would sing a pirate shanty under her breath. He found it cute when she did it.
He was falling hard for her.
He had the moment he had seen her. She was strong, beautiful, nysteryious and didn't take anyone's shit. She was also funny in her own way. She didn't know much about things such as music or movies. Toshinori made it his goal to introduce her to several movies and events. She focused on school too much though and wouldn't give Toshinori the time of day if it was after school.
Toshinori stopped when Akuma went to the ocean. He stood there and watched her walk further and further into the water. He frowned, his heart began to pick up speed. He didn't have the best feeling in his stomach. She walked further and further out. A wave came up to the horizon and crashed. Toshinori could no longer see Akuma. He panicked.
"AKUMA!" He ran as fast as he could on the beach. He couldn't bother to take off his shoes when he got to the ocean. He ignored the cold water. He dived into the water in search for his best friend. The water was merki which made it hard for him to see anything. He breached for air and looked around. He couldn't see her. He started to cry out of fear.
"AKUMA!" He screamed.
He dived back into the water before a wave could take him down. He used his quirk to give himself speed. He knew that if she was drowning, she would be further down. He didn't want it to be true. He couldn't lose her. He wanted to get to know her. He wanted to spend more time with her. He wanted to take her out to the movies or maybe even a concert. He wanted to do so many things with her.
I can't give up!
When Toshinori finally spotted something large and black, it was nearly down to the ocean floor. Toshinori needed air but fought. He gathered strength to get to his friend. He wrapped her into his arms and pushed himself off of the ocean floor. He shot up to the surface rather quickly. He gasped for air, holding Akuma up to the surface. He looked down and saw that she wasn't breathing. He had her tucked under his one arm, using his other arm to swim towards the beach. The waves were helping him get to the beach faster. All he could do was think about her being alive. If she died he didn't know what he would do. He couldn't lose her. He needed to save her!
Once he got to the beach, Toshinori gentlt set her down. He took off his shirt and put it under her head. He began to do what he was trained to do in situations like this. He would blow into her mouth and push her chest.
"Wake up! Akuma PLEASE!" He panicked, "I can't lose you!"
He breathed into her again. This resulted into Akuma coughing violently. She started to cough up the ocean water. Toshinori quickly moved her to her side so that she could breath. He was starting to shake out of happiness and from his adrenaline kicking in. Akuma coughed up the last of the water in her lungs and cried.
"Why?" She cried, "why did you bring me back?"
He was taken back from this.
"I...I..." He wasn't sure how to answer her. He didn't know what to do. She laid there and cried, pulling her knees close to her chest. He didn't understand what he had done wrong.
"You were drowning..." Toshinori whispered, "Right...?" He didn't want to know the answer to it. He had a feeling that there was something off.
"You should have left me to die." She whispered. She had stopped crying. She didn't look at him though. She laid there in the sand shaking and cold. He sat there looking at her, not sure what to think or feel. He knew that she needed him though.
"I can't. I won't." Toshinori said without missing a beat.
"You don't need me. You don't know me."
"Life would be boring without you." Toshinori says, Akuma's heart had skipped a beat. She wasn't doing this to get his attention. In fact, she didn't even think he would follow her. She didn't think that she mattered to him. He was a popular boy. She was the misfit that didn't fit in with anyone since she made it well know that she was a pirate.
"Besides." Toshinori laid beside her. Her back was still facing him though, "I don't care what you did. It's not who you are, Akuma."
"I am a pirate."
"I know that."
"No." Akuma turned and laid on her back. She sighed, knowing that she needed to open up to him. She knew that if she did then it would help her out in the long run. She knew that opening up to him will make her feel better. She knew that she could trust him. She was scared. Even though her lungs were aching and her body felt weak, she out her hand on top of his and squeezed.
"I am a real pirate. I killed people, Yagi." She whispered. Yoshinori heard her voice crack, "I have stolen from others. I... I did it all for my farher... I..." her voice trailed off. He could hear her soft sobs as she spoke, "he made me do it all. It's all so fucked up, Yagi. I had to become a spy to live my fucking dream."
Toshinori laid there and held her hand as she told him her life story. He listened to her. Letting his thumb rub her fingers as she spoke. He didn't care about what she had done in her past. He knew that she was used by her father, groomed into the family business. He was happy that when she came into UA, she was able to become who she wanted to be. He was happy to have her alive.
"Akuma." Toshinor prompted himself onto his elbow and looked at his best friend. He didn't let go of her hand. Instead he used his free hand to cup her cheek and wipe her tears away.
"That isn't who you are. You are a hero. You are my best friend. I will help you get away from this crazy man. We can turn him in. Together."
"He will drag me down with him."
"I don't think anyone in UA will let that happen." Toshinori promised her. He laid back down and pulled Akuma in close. She rested her head on his chest. They laid there listening to the ocean waves crash. They were silent. Not thinking about anything. For the first time Akuma felt loved and cared for. She knew that she could put her father to prison for life. She was worried about what would happen to herself. She gripped Toshinori's band even tighter. He kissed the top of her head, using his free hand to comb through her short blue hair. He felt her muscles relax again.
"No matter what, I will always be here for you Akuma. I will never let anything bad happen to you. Ever again."
