In what was supposed to be an ordinary day…
On the doorstep of Yorozuya Yamada was a black cat with odd eyes, red and green, with red headphones around its shoulders.
Jiro and Saburo stare at the cat before taking out their phones and taking pics.
'This cat looks just like Ichi-nii/Nii-chan!' with stars in their eyes.
The cat just stares back at them before letting itself in. It seats itself on Ichiro's desk, turning into a loaf.
"Cute~!" they take a few more pics before Ichiro comes down, asking, "What's going on?"
"Ichi-nii! This cat showed up, and it looks just like you!" Saburo informs.
"Hmmm…" Ichiro and the cat stare at each other.
"Nya…" the cat meows in greeting at the human who looks just like him.
"Huh…hi. Where did you come from?" Ichiro asks as he pets the cat's head.
"Nya~."
"Now, what do we do with you?"
"Can we keep it~?" his brothers asks, hopeful.
"Guys…"
"I'll keep it in my room!" Jiro and Saburo say at the same time before looking at each other, "Huh?!"
Growling at each other, they start arguing, much to Ichiro's dismay.
Unexpectedly, the cat jumped up and punched them in face, stopping the fight.
"Did that cat just…"
"Punch us in the face?"
"Yup," Ichiro smiles, impressed as the cat licks its paws.
"I think I'll keep you in my room for now…um…what should we call you?" Ichiro picks up the cat in his arms, "You're fierce so you're obviously a male, so…"
"Ichiro!" Jiro randomly calls.
"Nya!" the cat responds.
Ichiro sweat-drops, "That's my name…"
"Nya?" the cat tilts his head to the side.
"How about Ichi as a nickname?" Ichiro reasons before he realizes that he's reasoning with a cat.
The cat nods, "Nya!"
"Now then, I got work to do so…" Ichiro was about to put Ichi down when he just climbed up onto his shoulder.
"Nya!" Ichi meows, claiming his spot.
"You're coming with, huh?"
Ichi chirps.
Sighing, Ichiro relents, "Hai hai."
As Ichiro walks, Ichi manages not to fall as they go out.
In Shibuya…
Ramuda's dealing with a critter that snuck into his studio, eventually calling Gentaro and Dice since it's up high, on the highest shelf of his candy stash!
When Gentaro and Dice show up, Ramuda's fiercely protecting his stash with a broom from this flying thing.
Gentaro observes as Dice gets a net to catch it.
It's fast though, so it dodges Dice's attempts.
Eventually, they decide to lure it with sweets before bringing a net down on it.
Once caught in the net, it struggled before settling down.
Dice eagerly opens the net.
The thing that was causing so much chaos was… a pink rodent that looks like Ramuda?!
Blinking in shock, they're silent…before Gentaro breaks it, "I believe 'tis a sugar glider… but pray tell, why does it look like Ramuda?"
"No idea~!" Ramuda shrugs, "But thanks for catching this little fella!"
"No problem! Anything for a friend!" Dice smiles.
The sugar glider comes out and perches itself on Ramuda's shoulder, tugging his shirt.
"You want sweets, little Ramu~?" Ramuda guesses, already deciding on its name.
Ramu squeaks, nodding its head as Ramuda gets it a candy. Ramu happily stuffs it in its cheeks.
In Yokohama…
Samatoki and Jyuto just arrived at Rio's camp when they see Rio cooking meat still on the bone.
"Rio…what're those big bones for?" Jyuto asks.
"Well…I recently made a new friend," Rio explains before they hear a howl, "Oh. There he is now."
Suddenly, something jumps from out of the bushes. It's…a large white dog with red eyes, piercings on both its ears, and a bracelet that looks eerily similar to Samatoki's.
"Is that a dog…? Or is it…" Jyuto tries to ask.
"He's a wolf," Rio confirms.
"Why the fuck does he looks like me?" Samatoki asks, the wolf staring right back at him, tilting his head. Like he doesn't know what to make of this human who looks like him.
Rio and Jyuto just shrug, not knowing how to answer that question.
As Rio gives the wolf its share of meat and bones, explaining that he helped procure prey, the wolf dragged his bowl next to Samatoki before sitting there and devouring his food.
Licking his lips, the wolf sees Samatoki smoking, so he walks over to him, giving a "Woof".
"What?" Samatoki asks, a cigarette still in his mouth.
Then the wolf nuzzles his cigarette box, using his paws to get one out before biting it in his mouth.
They're surprised a wolf can do that.
"You like cigarettes?" Samatoki asks, smiling a bit.
The wolf gives a growl and nods in response.
"Haha… I like you," he smiles before asking, "Rio, what's this guy's name?"
"Well…since he's similar to you, I call him Sama," Rio shyly says.
"Sama it is then," Samatoki smiles as does Jyuto.
In Shinjuku…
A dark navy or purple dog with long fur and light blue eyes, a tag around its neck as it enters Shinjuku Central Hospital with no one stopping it, all of them too surprised to do anything.
This intelligent dog sniffs around, seemingly looking for someone before going down a hallway.
Some of the nurses try to catch it or pet it, but it quickly goes on its way, too focused on its mission.
Eventually, Jakurai hears scratching coming from the door, so he opens it, only to reveal the dog, who barks at him.
"Uh…" Jakurai doesn't know what to make of this but is intrigued. Especially since this dog looks just like him.
He lets the dog inside, Hifumi and Doppo being surprised.
"Eeh~? Such a gorgeous dog!" Hifumi smiles as he pets it.
"A dog? Here? Why?" while Doppo's more cautious.
Jakurai smiles, "I don't think he's here to harm anyone," before looking at its tag.
"It seems he's an Afghan Hound that's a certified therapy dog…but the name is scratched out," Jakurai hums, very interested.
"Why does he look like Dr. Jakurai though?" Hifumi and Doppo ask.
"I've no idea…but it's interesting, isn't it?" Jakurai smiles as the dog makes himself at home, laying on the floor.
"Ne ne, can we name him Jaku? Since he looks like Dr. Jakurai and everything!" Hifumi asks, stars in his eyes.
"I don't see why not," Jakurai smiles, not minding as he fills in the dog tag.
"Would you mind helping me with my work, for now, Jaku?" he asks.
"Woof," he gets a soft bark and a nod in response.
Jakurai smiles, petting Jaku's head, "Good. I'm counting on you."
Jaku's tail wags happily.
In Osaka…
Something snuck into Rosho's house.
He thought it was Sasara and Rei…again.
When he turned on the lights, Sasara was here…again.
"Huh? I broke in a few hours ago," he explains as something dropped to the floor.
"If it wasn't you then it must be Rei," Rosho reasons before Rei pops out from another room.
"That wasn't me. I was trying to sleep," he explains
"What the hell…?" Rosho curses before they all go to the kitchen.
The refrigerator door was open, something raiding it for food.
As soon as Rosho turned on the lights, they're all surprised by the sight.
A…green fox that looks just like Sasara was eating melons and melon soda.
"Uh…" they're speechless.
Rei, deciding that he's having a drunken dream, goes back to bed, letting Rosho and Sasara deal with this.
"Why does he look like you?" Rosho asks, shaking his head.
"No idea! Maybe I'm just that foxy!" Sasara jokes.
"Kon!" apparently the fox liked that joke.
"…" Rosho sighs, "I can't deal with this right now," before going to bed, deciding to deal with this tomorrow. Leaving Sasara and the fox alone.
"Well~ want to come with me? I have plenty of melon soda stashed at my place, and I can get you melons," Sasara offers.
"Kon kon!" the fox barks happily, tail wagging like a dog.
"OK then! Can I call you Sasa?"
"Kon!" the fox nods.
"Yes~!"
The next morning, Sasa was at the table with Sasara, Rei and Rosho sighing in reluctance.
In Nagoya…
At Kuko's family temple, a lot of cats come to get fed. However, Jyushi found a certain cat that he just had to show to his Master and Hitoya.
"Master, Hitoya-san, look at this!" Jyushi rushes inside the temple, carrying a cat. Specifically, a small runt of a red cat with piercings and yellow eyes.
"He looks just like Kuko!" Jyushi declares with stars in his eyes, the cat barely struggling to get out of his grip.
Kuko and Hitoya are speechless.
As soon as Jyushi pets the cat down, he just stares at Kuko, who stares back, both motionless.
Then, they smile, "Well, you must not be a bad cat if Jyushi likes you."
"Nya!"
"Can we keep him?" Jyushi asks with stars in his eyes.
Hitoya sighs, "No. He'll probably cause trouble, and get into fights with others animals if he's anything like Kuko."
Jyushi frowns, a bit depressed and lowering his head.
"I'll keep him then," Kuko announces as he pets his new friend.
"Let's call him Ku then!" Jyushi suggests.
"Nya!" the cat responds, nodding his head.
"Fuckin' awesome dude!" Kuko cheers.
Hitoya just sighs, mentally preparing himself for the inevitable chaos that a cat version of Kuko will cause.
