So...here it goes! Enjoy! :D
Neon lights showered rainbows on the couple at the center, holding the hands of each other, highlighting the faint murk of the fancy restaurant which was beautifully decorated on the auspicious occasion. Flowers in the crystal vases on the tables surpassed the smell of the orange-flavored air-freshener hovering in the airconditioned atmosphere of the hall. The raven-haired neko-jin wore a full-sleeved, high-necked Chinese top reaching his knees with black pants and golden linear buttons on the chest. Of course, his signature yin-yang bandana was present around his forehead, accompanied by the white wrap tying his ankle-length hair into a decent ponytail. Smelling like the woods in spring, he gazed at the honey orbs of the pinkette in front of him.
In return, mildly smiling, the magenta-haired Chinese lady bowed her eyes down, not able to stand his love-filled stares, caressing her just like the gusts of wind. Wearing a pink, off-shoulder ball gown with roses embellishing her belt and slightly curled coral tresses falling on her shoulders along with collapsing on her slender waist, clinching the pearl hairpins, she was looking like a Disney princess. Two-layered pearl necklace fell on her chest, earrings of pearls bedecked with moonstones were swinging from her ears as pearl bracelets hugged her left wrist. Blushes spread across both her cheeks; a coy smile bloomed in her coral lipstick-coated lips. Even surrounded by so many guests and friends, she was drowned in love, along with the neko-jin, her childhood love.
"How longer?" The impatient brunette asked the couple, "Will you pass the night only by staring at each other in this way? Or will you even exchange the rings?"
"Aww…let them keep drowning into each other for a while, Hils," The four-month pregnant, dual-haired woman poked her friend, "They won't get it for a while."
Everyone burst out laughing as the raven-haired guy lowered his head, pressing his lips into a smile. Giggling, the brunette forwarded the porcelain tray on which there were two red velvet boxes, containing a pair of diamond rings, shining brightly amidst the petals of pink and white roses which were blowing there gently. Picking one of them, Ray took the hand of the pinkette in his whose eyes weren't completely ready to be fixed at his face. Capturing the ring finger of her left hand into that, he uttered his vow clearly, "You're my today and all of my tomorrow, Mariah."
His face got darkened, heart skipped a beat for a nanosecond when his inner self asked him from the depth of his ambiguous core, "And the past? What about it?" However, he ignored the question, deciding not to look back at the spent days and bitter memories. Mariah was his everything now. She would be his everything later on, fated only for him. Why was he even worrying? As a result, the smile was back to his face as his ears caught the flamboyant resonations of everyone's clapping. Scratching his head, he pondered, 'Always, I will be there for you, Riah. And you, for me.'
As the brunette turned to the pinkette, she also took the ring. Gently lifting the hand of the neko-jin, little by little, Mariah raised her head and poured her honey orbs into his golden pitchers. Imprisoning his finger into the precious ring as well as his heart in hers, she pronounced with teary eyes and a quivering, yet caring and honey-coated voice, "I will take your hand and stand by your side in the good and in the bad. I dedicate myself to your happiness, success and smile. Today, keeping all the invited guests as witnesses, I promise that I will love you forever, Ray."
Tears started brimming in the beryl eyes of the male neko-jin. Forcing them back, he pulled the pinkette closer and swathed her into a soothing, comfortable hug. Mariah buried her head in his chest, wrapping her arms protectively around his torso-in front of everyone. The guests cheered by the names of the engaged couple, the women present there giggled, "Awww…". With a bright smile spread all over her face, the brunette couldn't realize how and when her husband had come and stood behind her, breathing on her neck. Feeling warm, she quickly stole a glance of him who shrugged a bit. Hilary smirked, remembering her own engagement. Silent and mysterious it had been, known by no one. However, the girls had discovered, seeing the ring finger of her and of course, she'd had no other choice except speaking everything out.
However, the meals were served soon. Everyone took pictures with the newly engaged couple. When it was Hilary's turn, she stood beside Mariah. Then again, she felt the presence of her husband behind her by his breaths. A bit startled she was. Why was he doing that again and again? If he wanted to take a photo, he could stand beside her too. But no, he was just like this. Hilary couldn't even ask him in front of everyone, nor was he telling her the reason. A bit embarrassed she was feeling but her curiosity and eagerness were overthrowing them each and every moment. She sighed. For two months, they were married to each other. Yet, it was growing more difficult for her to understand him. Why?
"Attention!" The royal blue-haired girl clapped once, "Soon, the dance will start. Dear married and unmarried couples, get ready to celebrate this night of amour!"
"Yay!" Everyone cheered. Excited and restless, Hilary was about to go there too but before it, someone grabbed her elbow from behind, preventing her from reaching the dance floor. Wincing, the brunette glanced back at her husband, discovering her arm bound in one of his knuckles. Her eyebrows got frowned, lips became twisted in irritation. Wherever she was going, Kai was following her like her own shadow. Not only that, now he was also obstructing her. Clenching her teeth, the brunette freed herself from him and put her palms on her hips, "What's your problem, Kai? I am seeing that you're following me everywhere! What happened?"
"Hush!" The ex-blader put his index fingers on her lips to shush her, "Calm down, Hil. Let's go to washroom first."
"But why?" Hilary was damn hyped.
"Come with me." Not answering to her question, Kai held her wrist and dragged her gently towards the restroom. Closing the door of one of its chambers as they entered there, Kai lifted the first layer of her lavender gown. Wrenching it a bit, he showed his wife, "Look at this."
The brunette bit her tongue when she discovered the scattered spots of dried blood clinging to her bottom. Hell, how could she be so careless? In the excitement of joining the engagement ceremony of her friends, she'd completely forgotten that she used to receive her periods at this time of every month. Now, she realized why Kai had been standing behind her always. He just wanted to tell her everything, not to embarrass her in front of everyone. She lowered her head and sighed, "I'm sorry, Kai, I-"
"It's okay," The phoenix-prince squeezed her shoulders, "What do you want to do now?"
"I have no other way except returning home, Kai," Hilary huffed, "I didn't have any preparation. Moreover, my dress has also been ruined. There's no choice."
"Fine," Kai nodded and put off his black blazer, making his wife wear it, "It's long enough to cover that part. Now come with me."
Blushing and holding the hand of her husband, the brunette came out from the washroom. Straightly going to Ray who was enjoying his drink with his fiancée, Kai spoke, "I'm sorry, Ray, but we have to leave now."
"What?" Ray frowned, standing up, "So soon? Did you even have your dinner?"
"Yeah," Kai spoke, "Actually, Hilary was feeling a bit sick. We have no choice."
"Woah!" Tala rolled his eyes, "Congratulations, buddy."
Everyone in the hall burst out laughing, along with Ray and Mariah themselves. Glaring at his scarlet-haired best friend, Kai hissed, "Don't think me as eager and hyped as you, Valkov."
The cheeks of both the redhead and the Latina turned beetroot. Not caring, sharing handshakes with everyone and letting his wife hug her friends, Kai took her to the car. Hilary tiredly thumped her head against the seat. Kai carefully tied the seatbelt around her and started driving the car. Once they reached home, getting fresh and changed, they both slept as Hilary tucked her head in his chest, binding her arms around him, bound in his own robust biceps and cuddling under the blanket, beneath the soft glow of the azure dimlight and cool breezes emitted by the airconditioner of their room.
However, Hilary forgot to tell Kai that there was only one napkin left which she was using, thanks to her tiredness.
"Get up, sleeping beauty," The phoenix-prince entered the room with a tray of coffee and warm breakfast, along with a paper bag hanging from his fingers. It was 8.00 am in the morning. The sun was brightly smirking in the flamboyant blue sky. Birds were chattering non-stop outside, on the twigs of the trees in their garden. It was a holiday for both, so the brunette was sleeping very peacefully.
Placing the tray on the table, he sat beside the head of her wife and dipped her fingers into her soft, smooth chocolate locks, removing them from her forehead, "You cannot overcome the pain only by sleeping all the day, wifey."
The brunette groaned in the obvious period cramps and headache that she used to face always in her periods. The pain was just like one thousand knives being stabbed at her abdomen. Even the sunshine seeping through the open window and poking her eyelids seemed very annoying to her. Stirring a bit, she opened her eyes and peeped at her husband from the blanket, "You made the breakfast today?"
"No need to be so emotional," Kai emotionlessly shrugged, "I ordered them."
"Oh…" Still, the brunette was thankful that she didn't need to make breakfast today. Throwing her arms and yawning, she got up, "But…you could tell me that you were going out."
"You were sleeping like a dead body," The dual-haired Russian sighed, "That's why, I didn't disturb you."
"Hmph!" Hilary growled. Whether it was for pain or disappointment, it couldn't be guessed.
"Besides," Kai pulled out a large-sized green cellophane packet along with a chocolate bar from the paper bag, "I didn't forget them."
Despite being in sheer abdominal inflammation, a flashing smile rose all over the face of the brunette. She quickly grabbed them from the hands of her husband and pulled him into a quick hug, letting out a cheerful squeal. Disturbed a bit he was, nonetheless, he didn't mind. His wife, of course, tended to be pleased only at very small things. That's why, he didn't make any mistake to make her his own life-partner, his soulmate.
"Okay…" He cleared his throat, "I've got some jobs. You eat the breakfast peacefully. And yeah, the tablets are also on the tray, they'll help you. Don't skip the milk."
Saying so many words only in one breath, no sooner had the slate-haired guy turned back from his wife than she discovered the index finger of his left hand, wrapped in a bandage. Her eyes went narrowed as she called him, "Kai? Why is your finger bandaged? How did you get hurt?"
Merely shrugging, not answering to her question, he left the room-or say, almost escaped like a thief from a cop. Hilary giggled in her own mind before having her breakfast, "Such a pathetic liar he is. But I'm glad and proud that I've got you for me, Kai. In past, present and future-always, till our last breath, I want you for me."
Done! Dear people, how was it? I know...quite short it was but not always I love to write long chapters. I hope you all have liked it! Actually, it's been a while since I wrote something for RayMariah. So, I thought "Why not to add RayMari here?" Hope it wasn't unpleasant at all. Besides, it's my 48th KaiXHilary in this site. Two more and my half-century will be done! I'm so excited for it, yikes! So wish me luck :D
Nonetheless, I hope every female reader here gets a husband like Kai and every male reader can be a husband like Kai to their wives in future. So, if any boy has read it, no bro, don't need to be embarrassed. Periods are natural and for dealing with your dear ones, you've to have the knowledge of them :)
Do read and review. Pardon the grammatical and spelling errors. Take care and stay safe. Before leaving, let's welcome the new fanfiction writers again! :D :D
