White - Day 4- sessxkag week 2021
Looking at her reflection in the floor length mirror, Kagome was dressed in a plain white satin shiromuku. Instead of a traditional headpiece, she wore her hair pinned up with her favorite white gardenia flowers as the soft perfumed fragrance surrounding her. Her full lips were painted red and eyes lined with black kohl. Around her neck was the shikon jewel hanging on a red leather string.
The miko dismissed everyone as she needed to collect her emotions and final thoughts.
Feeling a slight chill coming from the door, she looked up to see the regal western demon lord standing before her. He wore his signature silk white kimono with the floral pattern on his shoulder while the fluffy white mokomoko draped over the other and his swords on his hip. His face looked serious and stoic with his long hair gently blowing in the wind.
"Why are you here?" She asked with surprise yet pain laced in her voice as her brown eyes met his golden eyes.
"This one has come to ask once more for you to come with me. Only I can save you from this faith." As he spoke softly while taking in her delicate beauty.
"My faith is to sacrifice my pure soul for this ritual. The kami will be angry if I do not do my duty to destroy the jewel along with it. The village will suffer if I don't do it." Wiping away a stray tear. "Besides I need someone to mourn my death. I wish for it to be you."
Walking up to her with the feelings of anguish and hurt "my beloved, I will do anything for you even take on the kami's wraith as you are my true love and soulmate. Please I beg of you, do not do this." Holding her delicate hand in his clawed one.
Gently touching the demon lord's face with her other hand, she caressed it as their eyes met.
"We will meet in another lifetime. This life is not meant for us. Please have trust that we will meet once more." Pulling away slowly as she took in the last image of the one she loves "I am happy to have met you."
Taking a deep breath, she stood straight and tall, just like a majestic royal lady. Kagome made her face stoic and void of emotions just as the demon lord always held. She walked past him to meet her faith as the sacrifice was drawing near. Her heart shattered into pieces as she took each step away from him, trying her best not to fall apart.
Grabbing her from behind, he held her one last time and whispered into her ear "we will meet again in the next life. Wait for me. Promise me."
"Yes I will wait for you." She replied with a sad smile. "I promise you, my love."
As she blinked away the forming tears in her eyes, the western demon lord disappeared with the wind as the door opened with her procession ready to lead her into the mountains as it is her sacred duty to sacrifice her life with the cursed shikon jewel to ensure it disappears forever.
