Episode 74: Wayne Loves Mallory
CHAPTER 1: TRYING TO MOVE ON
School was well into two weeks after it started and the kids have settled back into doing schoolwork and everything. Word was also getting around about Sam Mancini's arrest and what was going on with the corpses that were found buried underneath cars at his salvage yard. Many folks were wondering what was going to happen to Gertie after the arrest. Little did anyone know but Sam was cooperating with the authorities and even helping with the investigation.
At Sparkyville Middle School, one student was trying to make it through the year without getting into any trouble. Mallory Simpson made it a point to stay out of trouble for the whole year after what had happened with her trying to split up Dominick and Cobra months prior. When school started, the principal made it a point that her staying away from Dominick was still in play and she could still face severe consequences if she didn't follow the rules. While her parents grounded her for the whole summer, they did go to the amusement park and brought her, 1. as a break from her punishment and 2. so she wouldn't try to sneak out to see Dominick. It was obvious that she would have to earn their trust back, and abiding by the rules set forth by the principal of Sparkyville Middle School would be the first test in that.
Dominick, Cobra, Rattler, and Thibault were talking to Wayne, the new kid, about how he was enjoying his new school and the kids there.
"It's been great!' said a happy Wayne. "All of you have been very welcoming of me and my sister Sondra, even if she can be a pain sometimes."
"Well we're glad you're enjoying yourself, Wayne," said Cobra.
"What do you like to do in your spare time?" asked Dominick.
"Well, I am into martial arts," Wayne replied. "I also like rap music."
"What kind of movies you like?" asked Rattler.
"A lot of action and adventure," Wayne responded. "I'm also a fan of comedy." At that moment, Mallory was walking across the adjacent hallway.
"Damn!" groaned Cobra. "There's that awful Mallory! At least we won't have to worry about her this year."
"Yeah," agreed Dominick. "She's still banned from coming anywhere near me, or she faces expulsion."
Wayne just looked at Mallory. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. The others took notice and wondered if he was all right.
"Uh, Wayne?" Thibault began. "Everything okay, buddy?"
"Oh yeah!" said Wayne, snapping back to attention. "Who is that girl?"
"That's Mallory Simpson," said Cobra, looking annoyed as she watched her talk to Violet and Patty (Swanson) from a distance. "She used to date Dominick when they both lived in Leeville some years ago. But she broke his heart by kissing another boy in their class, and he broke up with her then and there."
"Last year she moved here to Sparkyville and ended up here," Dominick added. "All last year she tried to break up Sylvia and I. She almost succeeded until I got hit by a car and all of our parents, hers included, intervened and stopped her from pursuing me and wrecking things between us."
"So now she can't be anywhere near Dom or she's out of here!" Rattler chimed in. "I almost wished she'd try so we'd be free of her once and for all. ALMOST, that is."
"Well I think she's beautiful!' said Wayne, looking dreamy-eyed. Rattler laughed.
"You're kidding, right?!" she giggled. "You being a fool aside, she's still hung up on Dominick here! She won't be interested in any other boy who isn't him!"
"Trust us, Wayne," Cobra added. "Mallory Simpson is no good. You're better off finding someone else." Wayne didn't care. He looked at the brunette with the hot pink bangs. He checked out her curvaceous figure and was totally smitten by her. As Violet and Patty left to go to their next class, Mallory turned around and walked to her class. Wayne sighed. The others looked at him.
"He's got it bad," said Thibault.
"You ain't lying, Tee Wee," agreed Rattler.
