"Good luck Cho!"

"Thanks,

Cho Chang rushed through the castle, her Comet 260 in her hand. She burst into the Ravenclaw Quidditch meeting room.

"Sorry I'm late," she sat down next to Catherine Meltz, the fourth-year Beater.

She spotted her holding the lucky enchanted candle that her team kept. It was bewitched so it could never go out no matter what. The blue flame on it was eternal.

It wasn't actually lucky- it was given to the team by Flitwick, who claimed it was.

"Alright, everyone. Our first match of the year," Richard Notman, the Quidditch captain, said. "We have a new Seeker and a new Chaser, and they're both just spectacular. Slytherin crushed us like we were a wad of gum on the ground. Even though I'm still convinced they cheated in some way, I know we're going to win. I can feel it,"

So, the team left their meeting room and flew onto the field with pride and confidence. They all wanted to win just as much as their captain.

But as soon as the game started, it ended after less than ten minutes.

Long story short, everyone on the team got injured in some way.

Cho had dislocated her right ankle very severely. She was able to walk, but Madam Pomfrey insisted she still wore a cast just in case.

Richard was furious. He didn't blame Cho at all, and in fact apologized about the Slytherins and called them something she knew he would never say in front of a teacher.

When they were in the hospital wing, Catherine tried to lighten the mood by saying the candle failed them in a sarcastic tone. Richard probably would have broken her jaw if his wrist wasn't killing him.

During Divination two days later, William Hansen, the other Beater, sent a small piece of parchment folded into an airplane flying toward her when Professor Trelawny went to help somebody with their crystal ball.

Cho-

Notman says to meet him on the Quidditch Field just before curfew. I don't know what he's planning, but he wants everyone to come. You don't have to bring anything but your wand.

Cho glanced back at William, and he nodded. She nodded back, then turned to her crystal ball.

"There she is! Cho!" Richard called as she made her way down.

"So what's going on?" She asked, wondering why they were so close to the Slytherin's shack of Quidditch supplies. She clutched her wand tightly. The suspense was killing her, so she started thinking about her wand. Silver lime. Unicorn hair. Thirteen inches. Good for charms. Ollivander went on and on about how peculiar it was that she had gotten her wand matched with herself on her first try…

"Sorry- what's going on?" Cho asked.

"Burning their broomsticks," Catherine said with a sly grin. "We're using a bewitched candle so it can't go out,"

"What?!"

"Down with the Slytherins!" Everyone chanted, as Clare took a candle and held it at the base of a Nimbus 2001. Everyone but Cho.

"Stop! Expelliarmus!"

She wasn't even completely sure if the Disarming Spell could disarm people with objects other than wands, but it did. She was a bit surprised that she did it successfully. Catherine, on the other hand, was a bit angry.

"What did you do that for?" she asked

"What if- what if Madam Hooch or Professor Flitwick found out? We could-"

"Yeah, we'd be in trouble. So what?"

"What's the worst that could happen?" Richard chimed in. "Fifty points from Ravenclaw? Detention for a month? So what? It'll still be worth it,"

"No, something worse, probably. Like- like-" she had been looking at the burnt Nimbus 2001, but now she glanced at Richard. "Like being disqualified completely,"

Some of the girls gasped, and Catherine nearly dropped her lantern.

"Oh, come on, Cho. Is it that realistic?"

"I mean, it kind of is," Someone said.

"I hate the Slytherins for what they did no less than any of you," she went on. "But is this kind of revenge really worth our Quidditch cup? It's our last chance to win for some of us. Do we really want to give that up for something like this?"

"You're right," Richard said after a bit. "Let's just get back to the Ravenclaw Tower before anyone spots us,"

"We'll find another way to get revenge soon," Cho promised her teammates.
