Episode 4: Jadan Grandin, Superstar

CHAPTER 1: HIDDEN TALENT

Charlie Brown had gotten up before anyone else. Xavier and Claire, Jadan and Joey's parents, had went to work already. He did smell breakfast cooking. He wondered if Snoopy was cooking one of his lavish meals for him, Woodstock, Gracie, and Hops. The dogs were one thing, but Charlie Brown knew that kangaroos had a specific diet and were herbivores. He looked outside and saw he was asleep on top of his tent, and Gracie was sharing Hop's barn. Woodstock had made a nest in a nearby tree for him to sleep in. He actually walked in to see Jadan was the one making the breakfast.

"Morning," he greeted.

"Mornin', Charles," said Jadan. "Hope y' ready for an amazin' breakfast."

"I am hungry. I was thinking that Snoopy was making this. He does cook quite a bit, though he can be quite greedy."

"Frieda told me 'bout y' dog's appetite. I made sure he had plenty o' food t' eat, as well. Have a seat and th' food will be ready soon."

Charlie Brown sat down at the table. Frieda walked in and greeted her boyfriend.

"Morning, baby," she cooed, kissing him. "What smells so good?"

"Jadan's making breakfast," said Charlie Brown.

"Need any help, Jadan?" asked Frieda.

"Y' can help with th' juice an' milk," Jadan replied. And Frieda got to work with setting up things. As they were doing that, Jadan started singing to the radio. She had a great voice. Charlie Brown and Frieda looked at each other and smiled.

"I had no idea you sang like that, Jadan!" said a happy Frieda.

"I do karaoke at th' local pizza place," Jadan replied.

"You've heard about Frieda and her singing, haven't you?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Claudia's told me 'bout it," said Jadan. "I also know singin' sensation Trevor B. is your cuz, Charles."

"Trevor's known here in Australia?!" asked a shocked Charlie Brown. "If you know about him, you should also know that Trevor also adopted Snoopy's brother Spike."

"That is news t' me," said Jadan. The rest of the kids came into the kitchen.

"Morning everyone," said a yawning Peppermint Patty.

"You're not going to believe this," said Charlie Brown, "but Trevor is popular here in Australia, as well!"

"You're kidding!" said a shocked Eudora.

"Scout's honor!" said Frieda. "Plus, Jadan here is a great singer, in her own right!"

"You can sing, Jadan?" asked Franklin.

"I was just tellin' Charles an' Frieda that I do sing at th' local pizza place," Jadan responded.

"I knew about Jadan's singing," said Claudia. "The p-pizza place is called Nick's."

"We're goin' t' Nick's today?" asked a groggy Joey.

"Probably later tonight, lil' bro," said Jadan. "Plus I think Snoopy will be able t' get in."

"I think he'd like that," said Charlie Brown. "Also, Frieda can show off her talents for the local folks, also."

"Would y' like t' do a duet with me, Frieda?" asked Jadan.

"You don't have to ask twice, Jadan," said Frieda. "I'd love to." At that moment, Snoopy, Gracie, and Woodstock came in.

"Y' just in time, doggies," said Jadan. "Breakfast is ready." Snoopy perked up and gave Jadan a kiss on the cheek. But instead of recoiling and raving about dog germs like a certain raven-haired fussbudget, she gave Snoopy a kiss of her own, making the beagle blush. Gracie and Woodstock laughed at the scene. And everyone sat down for breakfast.
