The day was a special day, it was the end of the seven friends' sixth year, they have gone through many adventures together at Hogwarts, made many friends and memories together, all the houses of Hogwarts have gathered for the occasion, especially the famed seven friends, Headmistress Mcgonagall herself would attend to congratulate all students on their hard work and announce the house that will win the House Cup for the year, all students were anxious to know who would win the House Cup, the students sat at the table which represented their houses and waited for Mcgonagall to begin.
"May I have your attention please?" Mcgonagall clang her cup then spoke "I will now announce the houses and their points they have earned for this year, in fourth place, with 186 points, Ravenclaw!" The Ravenclaw students let out a cheer from their table.
"In third place, with 251 points, Hufflepuff!" Hufflepuff students shouted hoorays and huzzahs.
"In second place, with 343 points, Gryffindor!" Gryffindor students clapped and cheered.
"And in first place, with 400 points, Slytherin!" The Slytherin students let out the loudest heartily cheer out of all, they threw their hats off into the air joyfully, but Mcgonagall raised her hands "I also wish to award other points for a certain student who has done a great service to the school, Edward Mystic" Mcgonagall looked on to Edward who sat at his table and smiled "Mr Mystic, you are indeed one of the greatest students Hogwarts has ever received, you have done so many great achievements and much more, with extraordinary results in your students as well as praises from your professors with excellent behaviour and work, for that I award...100 points for Slytherin, Slytherin wins the house cup".
Edward never felt so happy, he could jump up and down out of joy, which he did, the rest of the Slytherin students lifted Edward on their shoulders and clapped for him, chanting his name "Edward! Edward! Edward! Edward!".
"Edward, Edward, Edward, wake up!" Esther nudged Edward.
"Huh, what?" Edward woke up from his sleep.
"Headmistress Mcgonagall is about to announce the winning house" Said Esther.
"The winning house, didn't she already announce Slytherin was the winning house?" He asked.
"In your dreams, yes she has, in our world, not yet" Said Esther.
Edward realized that Slytherin winning was a dream "Oh bollocks..." He said.
"Another year has passed at Hogwarts, this may have been the first year for some, and may have been the seventh year for others, ".
"This is it, the moment we all have been waiting for, who'll win the House Cup, well, we all knew that it'll be Slytherin" Said Edward.
"Thanks to me of course" Said Esther.
"You? All you did was study, I made my own spell" Said Edward.
"A spell that can kill you and who knows who else, and besides, I studied to make up for the points we lost because of your shenanigans, no wonder we haven't been expelled this year" Said Esther.
"Hey, not all of them, some of those shenanigans have won us point, remember that time when the school were running short on potions? I went anyway without the school knowing AND I got us 25 points for that" Said Edward.
"Only because Professor Blackwell went with you, not to mention he saved your life when you were attacked by that wild beast in the forest?" Said Esther.
"Will you two hush? You can argue later, headmistress is about to say the winning house" Said Rian from her table.
"With all said and done, I will now announce the winning house for this year's House Cup, whichever house wins, I want to congratulate you all for making it through the year with extravagant results, in fourth place, 269 points, Slytherin!".
The Slytherin students cheered, except Edward and Esther who had their jaws wide open "Oh well done Edward, that 25 points didn't help much now did it?" Esther smacked Edward's head.
"Ow! Speak for yourself Esther, apparently you didn't study hard enough, no matter how many times I told you studying alone won't get us very far but you didn't listen now did you?" Said Edward.
"In third place, with 307 points, Gryffindor!" The Gryffindor students cheered and clapped.
"I hope you're happy, even Gryffindor scored higher than us" Said Edward.
"At least they didn't win" Said Esther.
"In second place with 447 points, Ravenclaw!" Students from Ravenclaw cheered.
"And in first place, with 599 points, Hufflepuff, Hufflepuff wins the house cup!" The students from Hufflepuff hugged, clapped, cheered, and threw their hats into the air, Mcgonagall changed the flags hanging in the Great Hall to house Hufflepuff.
Gryffindor and Ravenclaw were saluting Hufflepuff and a few from Slytherin, such as Esther ""What are you clapping for? We lost" Said Edward.
"I'm clapping for Sam and you should too, or did you forget she's a Hufflepuff?" Said Esther.
Edward mumbled for himself "Fine, but only for Esther" Edward made a quick clap on his palm then crossed his arms.
After a while, when most students were congratulating Hufflepuff, the seven friends were sitting together at the table, congratulating Samantha.
"Congratulations Samantha, I'm really happy for you!" Rian hugged Samantha tightly.
"Thank you so much! I didn't believe it myself that we won" Said Samantha hugging back.
"Yes congratulations, I think this was the first time in many years Hufflepuff won the house cup" Said Regulus.
"I guess we were just lucky this time" Said Samantha.
"Say that your house was lucky to have you, they won because of you after all" Said Arabelle.
"Awe, that is so sweet Belle" Samantha hugged Arabelle tightly.
While everyone was congratulating Samantha, Edward was turning his back and crossing his arms "Edward, aren't you going to congratulate Sam too?" Said Ether, Edward scoffed.
"What's the matter Ed, the Great Mystic Edward sad he lost to a Hufflepuff?" Teased Samantha, all of them burst laughing, Edward made a grumpy face and turned to them "Oh laugh all you want, but by winning you have made a big mistake, you have incurred the Great Mystic Edward's anger, and I will cast many curses on you and all in your house, until it's said that house Hufflepuff will never win any house cup ever agai-"
Jack shoved Edward "For once, accept that you lost" Said Jack.
"All right all right, you know I was joking" Edward turned to Samantha "Congrats Sam, I'm still surprised though, but I knew you could do it" He said.
"Thanks Ed, you'll win next year" Said Samantha, hugging Edward.
"And I better, those curses I said meant that you'll never be free of my pranks" Said Edward, Samantha giggled.
"As if you'll stop pranking us even if Slytherin won?" Said Rian.
"Good point" Said Edward "Though I still say I should've won, I did many things for the school you know" He said proudly.
"Oh please, Samantha spent half the year helping the staff and patients at the Medical Wing, what did you do?" Asked Esther.
"Ahem, excuse me? I helped Professor Blackwell get some creatures and potions for the Defense Against the Dark Arts class" Said Edward.
"All behind the school's back and Professor Blackwell's, which he wouldn't be there with you all those times if we hadn't told him you running off" Said Esther.
"but I still got us those 25 points didn't I? And might I ask how many points did you get from studying, did you get one point for every book you read?" Said Edward.
Rian shook her head and palmed her face "No matter how many years it has been, I swear those two never change..." She said.
Later on, when Students were hugging each other and saying their goodbyes, the seven friends were together for one last time in their sixth year before each of them went back to their homes.
"This year's gone through fast hasn't it?" Said Arabelle.
"Yes it has, and I'm glad I spent it with you guys, but I'm sad it's over" Said Samantha.
"Oh don't worry Sam, we'll still see each other right? Even out of the school we'll still hang out" Said Rian.
"But not everyday as we used to in Hogwarts, I'm really going to miss you all" Said Samantha, nearly tearing.
"Awe, Sam" Arabelle hugged Samantha and Regulus gave her a tissue.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry...I don't like goodbyes is all" She said, blowing her nose and wiping her tears away "But I'll really miss you when I'm home, I'll always remember you guys till next year".
"Don't cry Sam, we'll promise you that we'll always hang out together again" Said Esther.
Even if we're away, we'll arrange to see each other soon" Said Jack.
"Remember, we're best friends, and that means it'll be hard for us to be away" Said Edward.
"Guys, stop, you'll make me cry again" Said Samantha, feeling her tears coming back.
"Ok guys, I think it's our turn, let's all group hug Samantha" Said Rian, and they all went to hug Samantha.
"But Sam's right, I'm going to miss you guys, so let's make a promise to always get together again, yea?" Said Esther.
"I think you live next to me don't you Esther?" Said Arabelle.
"Oh that's right! We could keep in touch with each other and we'll inform the rest" Said Esther.
"Then it's settled, I'm not sure if I'll be able to see you all the time, but I'll try my best" Said Jack.
"All I can say is I won't be missing Edward's pranks, and none of us will for some time" Said Esther.
"Don't be so sure, I'll still do more whenever we see each other" Said Edward.
"Do we really have to take him with us whenever we're out? Ed's got other friends he can handle being away" Said Esther.
"I do, but you'll miss me too much" Edward chuckled "I say guys, since it's our last day at Hogwarts, why not make it a memorable one? Let's do something special to remember it by" Said Edward.
"That's a fantastic idea! What will we do?" Asked Samantha.
"I was thinking Hogsmeade, we can stay there for as long as we like, and I don't think we'll have a curfew now that we're out of school" Said Edward.
"Ooh good idea, we can also make something special there for Samantha while we're at it" Said Arabelle.
"No, please don't you really don't have to" Said Samantha.
"Too late, I put that on our list" Edward chuckled.
Just then, Edward's little sister Rosie came along "Samantha!" She said.
"Hi Rosie!" She said, hugging her.
"I wanted to say congratulations on winning the House Cup" Said Rosie.
"Awe, thank you Rosie, but you're also with my house, so congratulations on winning to you too" Said Samantha.
"Hi big brother" Said Rosie.
"Hi Rosie" Edward hugged his little sister.
"Oh I forgot to ask, did Edward throw a tantrum because his house lost?" Said Rosie.
"What?!" Said Edward, all the others laughed "I did not throw a tantrum, I wasn't happy but I did not" Said Edward.
"Don't worry Rosie, he wasn't a child this time, though he did make that grumpy face" Said Esther.
"That usually happens before he jumps up and down like one" Said Rosie.
"Why you little!" Edward carried Rosie up and started blowing on her stomach, Rosie laughed and then he put her down "Now come on, we're going to Hogsmeade to celebrate our last day in our sixth year" Said Edward.
"But we can't, we have to get home now, remember? Mum misses us too much" Said Rosie.
Edward then remembered Rosie telling him before she got an owl from their mother about coming home as soon as they graduated "Oh! That's right, I forgot" Said Edward.
"That's all right Ed, go home, we're all about to do the same" Said Regulus.
Then Edward had a thought "Well...why don't you guys come with me too?" Said Edward.
"Come with you where?" Said Esther.
"Our home, I mean just a short visit before all of you got to your houses and families, we can spend the day at mine, besides, you already met Rosie, now what's left is the rest of my family" Said Edward.
"Edward, that's a nice suggestion but you really don't have to" Said Arabelle.
"Why not?" Said Edward.
"We don't want to disturb your family, they're not expecting any of us" Said Regulus.
"Oh come on, they already know about you, I talk about you when I send them my letters everytime, it'll be fine, besides Esther and Rian visited me sometime" Said Edward.
"Because we asked your parents first, not show up unannounced, who knows who's at your house now than just your parents?" Said Rian.
"Everyone, relax, if I said it's fine, then it's fine, we can be together there until you feel it's time to go back to your families, I said I want this day to be special and I meant it, I'm sure you don't mind do you Sam?" Asked Edward.
Sam also felt there wasn't a need to go to Edward's house when they can meet again another day, but nevertheless, she didn't want to say no "Well..." Said Samantha.
"Please Samantha, come over, I want to show you my room, I'm sure mum and dad won't mind" Said Rosie.
"...All right then, I'm not in a hurry home so I'll come" Said Samantha.
"Great, that's one, guys?" Edward turned to his friends.
"If Samantha is okay with it, I guess I am too" Said Rian.
"Sure, it doesn't matter where we are, if we're together then it's special as it is" Said Arabelle.
"Agreed" Said Regulus.
"Esther?" Said Edward.
"The crowd has spoken and I can't do much to refuse now can I? Your house it is" Said Esther.
"Well, I'll see you all then another time, but have fun at Edward's home" Said Jack.
"Oh no, if we're all going, that also means you" Said Edward.
"Thanks Edward but it's all right, I don't go to anyone's houses, it's your home and I have mine" Said Edward.
"Forget it Jack, I'm not letting our last day with one friend short, I know what you're afraid might happen but you're coming too or you will someday again" Said Edward.
Jack sighed, he knows Edward best when he's made up his mind "I suppose a very short stay won't hurt anyone" Said Jack.
"It's settled then" Said Edward.
"Yay!" Rosie clapped her hands.
So the seven friends agreed to make the most of their day at Edward's home, they said goodbye to the rest of their friends and made their way to Edward's house, stopping at the bridge outside of the school "Oh! Hang on a minute, there's still one more person I want to invite, wait here, I'll be back" He said.
Edward ran quickly inside because there was still someone very special he wanted to spend the day with, someone he criticized himself for forgetting to invite, while searching left and right for her, he found Adelaide with her friends, thankfully he reached her before she could leave the school.
"Adelaide" He said when he got to her.
"Hi Ed" She hugged him "I'm glad I got to see you before I went home".
"I'm glad too, so I can tell you how sorry I am that we didn't win the House Cup" Said Edward.
"Sorry, why would you be sorry?" Asked Adelaide.
"Because I was planning to win it for you, to show what will I do to show that I love you, I was willing to read every text in the books and learn every incantation if that what was going to win us the House Cup, I thought this would make you think it's romantic, but now that I've failed..." Said Edward, Adelaide kissed his cheek then "Well, what's happened happened" He said, chuckling.
"You're so silly" She giggled.
"Anyways, I was going to go home, but I invited my friends before I did, I was wondering if you want to come along too" Said Edward.
"That's sweet Ed, but I have to go to my home, my family are waiting" Said Adelaide.
"Can't you come over for just a little while? It's only fair you visit my home and meet my family after I went to your home and met yours" Said Edward.
"Thanks again Ed, I'd love to but I can't, my family wants to see me, and you know how far away is my home from here" Edward gave a sigh and faced the floor, only to have Adelaide raise it up "I'll still consider coming one day, you'll have your friends with you" She said.
"You know as well as I do it won't be the same without you, I'll miss you too much" Said Edward.
Adelaide smiled "I know" And kisses his other cheek before she went on her way, meaning to go back home.
Back at the bridge "Sorry I kept everyone waiting" Said Edward when he returned to his friends.
"Who was it you wanted to invite" Asked Esther.
"Adelaide, I was hoping she'd come too, but she has her own family, right, enough waiting, my home's in London so we'll take the train, I was going to suggest flying by broomstick there but...I've had some problems with that" Said Edward.
"Eddie loves Ade" Teased Rosie.
"Quiet you, or else I'll tickle you all the way until we get home" Joked Edward.
So Edward took his friends by train from Scotland to England, from there they took the bus to Edward's house that was in Albion St. that's near Hyde Park, when they arrived, it was a large, black house, though it appeared old, with vine bushes scaling from the balcony to the floor, it was fancily decorated, with a medieval touch to its appearance.
"Wow, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you were one of the royal family" Said Arabelle.
"Hehe, well not really, but Rosie is a princess if you believe her" Said Edward.
"I am" Said Rosie.
Edward then went to ring the doorbell and waited for an answer, moments later, the dark-brown door with an M crest that was decorated on it opened, standing for the Mystic family name, and the person who opened it was man with black hair and blue eyes, nearly clean-shaven, and was wearing a black but fancy-looking attire, close to what a lord or prince would wear., it was Edward's father, Nolan Mystic.
"Daddy!" Said Rosie.
"Edward, Rosie" Said Nolan surprise.
"Hi dad" Edward and Rosie went to hug his father.
"Welcome back children, welcome back" Nolan hugged Edward and Rosie "I thought you would come sometime later in the evening" Said Nolan.
"I was going to but Rosie here couldn't wait and...I had another reason for coming earlier"
"Ed brought back our friends with him" Said Rosie
Edward turned to his friends "Everyone, this is my dad, Nolan Mystic" Nolan greeted his friends and they greeted him back "I hope you don't mind, my friends were about to go to their homes but I wanted to invite them to stay over for a little before they went, if it's fine with you" Said Edward.
"Of course of course, no problem at all, please do come inside" Said Nolan, he, Rosie, and Edward entered the Mystic Manor, with his friends following him.
"Hello Mr Mystic" Said Rian.
"Oh come now Rian, I thought I told you that you can call me Nolan, Mr Mystic makes me feel old and boring" Joked Nolan.
The house was fascinating, it was like in the style of a castle, it had a tower clock on the far end of the decorated hall, there were flag colors of medieval flags and a pair of suits of armor guarding the door, and many other artifacts from the middle ages.
"Wow, and I thought the house from the outside was more amazing" Said Samantha.
"Thank you, they say out with the old, in with the new, but I prefer to keep both" Said Nolan, then led them to the living room, where a woman was sitting on a couch who was wearing the opposite style of Nolan, a modern white blouse and a light-pink skirt, reading a book, she smiled widely when her green-eyes turned to Edward and Rosie, it was their mother, Selena Mystic.
"Mummy!" Rosie went to hug her mother.
Selena embraced Rosie very tightly "My sweet Rosie, welcome back darling" She kissed her head, she then opened her other arm for Edward.
"Oh come now mum, I'm a grown boy, grown boys don't-" Esther shoved Edward forward "Ooh! I know I know, jeez Esther, it's like you don't know when and when not I'm joking" Said Edward, then went to hug his mother "Hi mum" He said.
Selena hugged and kissed Edward's head "Well done Esther" Joked Nolan and Esther chuckled.
"I'm so proud of you sweetheart, my little Edward graduated from his sixth year" Selena grabbed Edward's cheeks until they turned red.
"Mum!" Edward rubbed his cheeks "I'll get you later for this Esther" Said Edward, Esther smirked.
"Mummy, these are our friends, Edward wanted to invite them over, is it okay if they stay with us?" Asked Rosie.
"Of course they can stay sweetheart" Said Selena, then turned to Edward's friends "How do you all do? I'm Selena Mystic, it's very lovely to meet you all" She said, Edward's friends greeted her as well "Well don't just stand there, sit down" They went to sit by the four chairs, three couches, and one very long couch fitting for almost ten people, Nolan went and sat between Edward and Rosie on the couch, with Selena on Rosie's left "Congratulations, Edward, and you Rosie" He said, placing his arms around them.
"Thanks dad" Said Rosie.
"And of course, congratulations for all of you on graduating, best of luck for next year" Said Selena, smiling, Edward's friends thanked her.
"So tell me, which house won the House Cup? Slytherin I presume?" Noland nudged Edward.
Edward chuckled "Well, not entirely um...".
"Hufflepuff won the House Cup" Said Rosie.
"That's wonderful, congratulations Rosie, did you hear that Nolan? Hufflepuff won the House Cup this time" Selena giggled and Rosie let out her tongue at Edward.
Noland whispered to Edward "Don't worry son, we'll get them next time" He said.
"Oh, I'm so very sorry, Ed, aren't you going to introduce us to your friends?" Selena asked.
"Hmm? Oh right, right! I nearly forgot, of course you know Esther and Rian, they don't count" Edward chuckled, Esther and Rian looked to Edward with revenge in their eyes "This is Regulus Black and Arabelle Nightingale, they're Ravenclaw, Samantha Gunderson here is like Rosie, Hufflepuff" Edward pointed to them who were sitting on the couch to his right, then turned left to Jack at the chair "And that's Jack Reeves, he's a Gryffindor" Said Edward, Jack waved.
"But I thought you didn't like Gryffindor, you said there wasn't a way in the magic or the muggle world you'd be friends with one" Said Nolan.
"Shhhh!" Edward tried to hush Nolan.
"What? I'm only stating what you told me, remember at your second year? You said that Gryffindor were stuck-up spoiled brats" Said Nolan.
"Dad! Not in front of them!" Said Edward, Nolan couldn't keep his laugh inside.
"Now Nolan, you'll have to excuse him, he's making himself like he used to before he grew up" Said Selena then stood up "Now while everyone makes themselves comfortable, I'll go make you some tea, would everyone like black or white?" She asked.
"Black for all of us please" Said Edward.
"All right then, and I know how you like your tea, my dear little boy" Said Selena.
"Mum, please!" Said Edward, Selena giggled.
"Where's my tea?" Said Nolan.
"You already had yours this morning dear" Said Selena as she went to the kitchen.
Nolan chuckled "I think I'll go help your mother, good luck son" Nolan laughed again and followed Selena.
"Dad! Not you too!" Said Edward, there he found himself vulnerable to his friends, especially Rian and Jack and laughed nervously "Y-you're not going to actually believe him are you? You're my best friends" He said.
"Spoiled brats, eh Edward?" Said Jack.
"Oh come on, I was only 12 back then, when I was a spoiled brat myself" Said Edward.
"That's not all he said, he also said that Rian is-".
"Rosie! You little-" Edward tried to catch Rosie before she ran and sat next to Samantha, laughing with her "Oh you just wait until I get my hands on you" He said.
Selena then came back with nine cups of tea with biscuits in the custards "There you are everyone, black tea and biscuits" She said, everyone took a cup of tea and crumpet except Rosie, who only ate Selena's crumpet "Jack dear, why sitting away?" She noticed that Jack was sitting on the far right of the room.
"Thank you Mrs Mystic, I'm all right here" Said Jack.
"Don't worry about him, Jack's away because he's a-".
"Ed! no" Jack scolded Edward before he could finish.
"I was only going to say shy but if you say so" Edward chuckled and Jack rolled his eyes.
"Tell me, Regulus" Said Nolan.
"Yes sir" Replied Regulus.
"Nikolaos Black, your father, correct?" Asked Nolan.
"That's right sir he is, you know him?" Said Regulus.
"A time ago, yes I did, and his erm...siblings" Said Nolan.
Regulus's face took a turn, he knew he meant about his uncle Castor and his aunt Helena who were Death Eaters, whom he was terrified of by just the mention of their names.
"I'm- I'm sorry my dear boy, I didn't mean anything by it, I only asked to hear how were they doing, I mean that-".
Selena cleared her throat and slapped Nolan's knee when she noticed the cup was shaking in his hand "Please don't misjudge Regulus, he merely forgot" Said Selena, Nolan nodded in agreement.
"It's all right sir, I think almost everyone knows" A small smile was shown on Regulus, Arabelle placed her hand on his which calmed him down.
"Everyone I forgot to tell you, mum and dad were also Hogwarts students like us, Dad was a Slytherin and mum was a Ravenclaw" Said Edward.
"Ah yes, that takes me back, I was a bit of a ruffian like my mischievous Edward here, and Selena was the cleverest girl in her house" Said Nolan.
"A bit of a ruffian? You spent in Headmaster Dumbledore's office than your classes because of your jokes" Selena giggled.
"That was only during my first three years, thank you very much" Said Nolan.
"We met at my and his fourth year, I won't even mention the many times he tried to impress me with his plays but it always backfired on him" Selena couldn't control her laughing that she almost dropped her cup.
"I did in the end didn't I? It took another year to impress her but I eventually did" Said Nolan, he placed his hand on her shoulder.
"That you did dear" Said Selena, rubbing on Nolan's hand.
"Headmaster Dumbledore? You knew Dumbledore, did you also know Harry Potter?" Asked Samantha, Edward choked on his tea.
"Sam!" Exclaimed Edward.
"Oh no..." Selena hid her face at her palm.
"I'm very much glad you asked Samantha, to answer your question, yes I did know Harry Potter, and that comes with a story as well" Said Nolan.
"Honey, please don't, do you want to bore their stay?" Said Selena.
"It's not a boring story love, it's an exciting one" Said Nolan.
"Exciting for you perhaps, but they just don't have the time to hear it" Said Selena.
"It's all right Mrs Mystic, I'm very interested in hearing it" Said Samantha.
"Big mistake Sam" Said Edward.
"See? They want to hear it, I want to tell it, it's unanimous" Said Nolan, Selena shook her head at her palm and giggled.
"I warn you lot, this story's so long, we'll be here until our seventh year's graduation.
"Yes, I met Harry Potter in my second year, I also knew Ron and Hermione too, of course Selena knew them as well, first time I met them was at Severus Snape's class, whom I'm sure you all know who that is..." So the friends spent their time at Edward's house, drank their tea, ate their crumpets, chatted and laughed with Edward's family, until it was that time where everyone had to be going back to their homes and families.
"Thanks very much for having us Mrs Mystic" Said Arabelle.
"You're welcome anytime sweethearts" Said Selena.
"Next time I'll tell you all about the time when I single handedly defeated ten death eaters in the Battle of Hogwarts" Said Nolan, Selena jokingly slapped his shoulder.
"Thanks Ed, was fun" Said Jack.
"If you guys run out of ideas to where to go, my door's open all right?" Said Edward.
"Bye everyone" Said Rosie.
When everyone left Edward's house, Nolan closed the door and crossed his arms when he turned at Edward.
"I suppose this is the part where I'm scolded for not informing you they'd be coming right?" Said Edward.
Nolan sighed "It's not a scolding Edward, I'll suffice with you should have asked them before you invited them" Said Nolan.
"What's the problem dad? It's not like they're muggles I invited to a wizard's home" Said Edward.
