Omega's Beginning

Warning: I do not own anything, but these stories do contain some spoilers for episodes of "The Bad Batch". Some of the things you read in these stories will most likely not be canon, however they express some of my theories about Omega that might possibly be correct, such as what she can do or what makes her special. Enjoy.

Meeting a Jedi

As usual, weather on Kamino was dark and stormy and the only sign of civilization was the Republic Cloning Facility. Here thousands of Clone Troopers were being trained to fight for the Republic in the war against the Separatists. It was early in the war and a Republic Shuttle flew down toward the planet and was approaching the cloning facility. Walking alone through one of the corridors of the facility was a young girl who went by the name of Omega. She walked by herself with a bored expression as she passed some clone cadets, trainees, and two Kaminoans. She glanced around but stopped when she looked out the window and saw the approaching vessel. Her curiosity got the best of her as she hurried to the window and stared at the ship as it came in for a landing.

Omega could not take her eyes off the shuttle until she heard a familiar voice say, "Omega."

She turned around to see her supervisor Nala Se looking down at her as she said, "I have been looking for you. Come, there is an assembly we must attend."

Omega complied and walked with Nala Se as she said, "Nala Se, a ship just flew in and landed outside. What's going on?"

They kept walking while Nala Se looked down at Omega and said, "It is likely the Jedi who was sent by the Republic."

Omega smiled with childlike curiosity as she said, "Jedi? The same one who came before the war?"

Nala Se shook her head as she answered, "I do not know but I am sure we are about to find out."

She faced forward as she and Omega kept walking while Omega had an anxious smile on her face.

Later at the staging area

All of the clones were gathered and stood in formation as they stared at the Jedi who arrived, it was Master Shaak Ti. Omega stood beside Nala Se on an observation deck high above the staging area with a few other Kaminoans. Omega looked down with interest as she listened to the Jedi's speech to the Clone Cadets and Troopers.

Shaak Ti's voice echoed throughout the facility as she said, "Soldiers for the Republic, I am Master Shaak Ti of the Jedi Council. I have been chosen to oversee the clone initiative, to assist in your training to ensure you are ready to battle the droid army. We Jedi do not take sides in war, but these are dyer times, we must do what we must to bring order to the galaxy. We must fight for those who cannot fight for themselves, to protect them from the shadow of the Dark Side. It is my duty to supervise your training to see that you will stand as one against the wrath of Dooku and the droid army. I will do my part to ensure that you all will do your best to defend the Republic, so that you may lead us to a bright future of peace and freedom."

Immediately after she finished all of the clones cheered as they raised their fists and applauded, and on the observation deck Omega smile as she stared at where the Jedi was standing. She kept watching as Shaak Ti turned around and walked away as the clones kept cheering for her.

Later Shaak Ti was walking with Prime Minister Lama Su through the corridors as he respectfully said, "Master Ti that was a most moving speech but I feel we may need more than just you to supervise the training of these clones."

Shaak Ti looked up at him and said, "I alone was assigned to Kamino while the rest of the Jedi Order assumes the duty of leading the various Clone Battalions across the galaxy."

They kept walking while Su said, "Even so it is important that our clones learn from multiple experienced leaders. That is why Chancellor Palpatine has enlisted the help of highly skilled bounty hunters to aid with the clones' training.

Shaak Ti stopped and eyed him suspiciously as she said, "Bounty hunters?"

Lama Su turned to her and said, "Rest assured we are not entrusting their training to common criminals. The bounty hunters enlisted have been chosen carefully for their intelligence, skills, and reliability."

He turned away and proceeded down the corridor, leaving Shaak Ti alone with her thoughts as she said, "I see."

She sensed a presence nearby and turned her head while she said, "What is this presence I detect lurking?"

She turned around and looked down to see Omega standing with a big friendly smile as she said, "Hello."

Shaak Ti smiled politely as she said, "Hello little one. What is your name?"

Omega continued smiling as she answered, "My name's Omega."

Shaak Ti bent over and looked down at Omega as she asked, "And what may I ask are you doing here?"

Omega acted somewhat shy as she answered, "Oh… I just wanted to say 'hello'. I really liked that speech you gave. I've heard a lot about Jedi but I've never actually met one before."

Shaak Ti chuckled with an amused expression before she said, "Thank you, but actually I meant what are you doing here on this planet?"

Omega glanced around as she explained, "Oh, I live here. This is my home."

The young girl had piqued the Jedi's curiosity as she said, "Really…"

Omega glanced to the side as she said, "Yes I work hear. I'm a medical assistant."

Just then Nala Se came and said, "Yes."

Omega turned around while Shaak Ti stood up and they both looked at Nala Se as she walked up and said, "Omega assists me with tending to the welfare of our clones. She is an intelligent young girl whose curiosity often gets the best of her."

Shaak Ti looked back down at Omega as she admitted, "Curiosity can get one into trouble if not properly restrained."

Nala Se placed her hand on Omega's shoulder as she said, "Come Omega, we must not disturb the Jedi on her mission."

Just before they could leave Shaak Ti spoke up and respectfully said, "Oh it's no trouble at all. In fact, Omega, I would very much appreciate it if you could show me around this facility."

Omega was shocked and excited as she said, "Me? Really?"

Shaak Ti smiled as she replied, "Certainly. If I am to stay here I require a tour to find my way around, and you seem very helpful."

Omega nodded and excitedly said, "Yes! I'd love to show you around."

Shaak Ti turned her body sideways and motioned for Omega to come as she said, "Then by all means come. Let us go."

Omega left Nala Se and walked with the Togruta as she happily said, "Great! Follow me. Oh and may I ask you some questions?"

Nala Se held her right hand out as she said, "Omega…"

They stopped and turned back to her as Shaak Ti fondly said, "It's quite alright. A thirst for knowledge often sets one on the path to finding wisdom. Please Omega, feel free to ask any question."

They continued walking while Omega happily said, "Well for starters, I'd like to know…"

They were soon gone as Nala Se watched them with a troubled expression before she took her leave as well. Sometime later Omega was showing the Jedi around the cloning facility when they came to the medical bay.

As they walked Omega moved her hand to refer to the door while she said, "And here is the infirmary, this is where I help Nala Se examine the clones."

They stopped and Shaak Ti smiled down at the girl as she said, "Thank you Omega. You are a very special child."

Omega was flattered as she said, "Thank you."

She placed her finger to her chin in thought as she said, "I'm not sure what it is but there is something unique about you. I feel it in the Force."

Omega curiously asked, "What's the Force?"

The Jedi glanced around before looking back at Omega while answering, "The Force is the energy that flows and connects everything in the universe. We Jedi wield the Force and use it to help others. It resides all living things."

Omega was interested as she inquired, "Even… clones?"

Shaak Ti nodded and said, "Yes, even in clones. Even in you."

Omega smiled in wonder and enchantment and then the Jedi said, "Now Omega, may I ask YOU a few questions?"

Omega nodded and politely said, "Sure."

She moved her hand out to the side and asked, "How long have you been on Kamino?"

Omega glanced away as she simply added, "My whole life. As long as I can remember."

Shaak Ti immediately became filled with curiosity as she asked, "And where is your family?"

Omega was confused as she said, "Family? What's a family?"

Shaak Ti seemed shocked by her reply and then said, "A family is a group of people who you live with, they look out for you, help you, feed you, educate you, and raise you. We Jedi are taught as younglings that our family is each other, but who is your family?"

Omega thought for a moment and glanced around as she replied, "I guess my family are the Kaminoans. And the clones always call each other brothers so I guess they're my family too."

Shaak Ti was somewhat confused by her answer, but before she could say anything the door to the infirmary opened.

Nala Se came out and said, "Pardon my intrusion Master Ti but I have come for my assistant. Omega there is work to do and I require your assistance."

Omega looked at Nala Se and glanced back at the Shaak Ti, who looked down at her and nodded her head.

Omega sighed in disappointment as she said, "Yes ma'am."

She followed Nala Se into the infirmary, but stopped in the door and waved back at Ti and said, "Bye, Master Jedi."

Shaak Ti smiled politely and said, "Goodbye Omega."

The door closed and Shaak Ti walked away and showed a suspicious expression as she planned to share some interesting information.

Later on Coruscant

It was night time at the Jedi Temple and the council was assembled in their chairs as they looked at a hologram of Shaak Ti.

She briefed them on her status and said, "I have arrived on Kamino and tomorrow I shall begin supervising the training of the clones."

Mace Windu nodded as he replied, "Good work."

Shaak Ti showed a bit of concern as she said, "And yet I have discovered something here on Kamino that strikes me as strange."

Master Yoda was intrigued as he said, "Strange? Hmmm. What you have discovered share with us."

A small hologram of Omega was projected in front of the hologram of Shaak Ti, and it rotated as she said, "I met this young girl here on Kamino. Her name is Omega. She is serving as a medical assistant for the clones and I sense something very unique about her but I can't explain what it is."

Obi Wan became curious as he caressed his chin in thought and said, "A child serving on Kamino? Where is she from?"

Shaak Ti stared at the hologram of Omega and replied, "Unknown. Much about her is still shrouded in mystery. She is very intelligent and curious but lacks some basic common knowledge that most people possess. She claims to have spent her entire life on Kamino and was not familiar with the term 'family' until I asked her."

Plo Koon had his fingertips together as he said, "Most irregular."

Windu seemed unphased as he said, "As strange as that is this Omega does not seem to merit the need for further investigation. We must focus on doing what we can to end this war."

Obi Wan was uncertain as he said, "I don't know. This revelation has piqued my curiosity to say the least, I think we should find out more about this Omega."

They all looked at Yoda as he said, "More information we require, but lose sight of our objective we must not. The new clones must be trained if to bring this war to an end we are."

Shaak Ti nodded as she complied, "Yes Master Yoda. I will continue to oversee the clone initiative. If I discover any important information about Omega I will share with you."

The hologram turned off and all of the Jedi were left alone with their thoughts, some were wondering more about this mysterious young girl, others were more worried about other matters.

Author's note: I started this because I wanted to get back into my fanfictions. I've been focused on Deviantart for a while and have sort of neglected my fanfiction stories. I've also been very interested in the Bad Batch series so I thought about writing a story about Omega. I love Omega and I look forward to seeing more of her. I feel this chapter does foreshadow events that take place in the Bad Batch. Also the fact that the Jedi senses something about Omega alludes to the possibility of her being Force Sensitive. Also I wonder if she's ever met any Jedi, because I do feel like we might eventually see some surviving Jedi, or Ahsoka, so I'm very curious how she will react when meeting them. I feel like she should have at least met Shaak Ti when she was stationed on Kamino, even if she didn't know her well I feel like she must've met her. I'm not sure when I'll do the next chapter but I definitely want to work on my other stories first. Please review.
