It was 10:00 PM. Robbie Valentino was sitting on top of the mountain, just outside of Gravity falls. He had a tent set up, along with a campfire. He looked down at the town, then he looked up at the moon. He was obviously really upset about something. I don't deserve to live, i'm too much of a bad person he said out loud.
About five minutes later, Candy Chiu came up and sat down beside him. Hello Robbie she said. Hey Candy said Robbie sounding depressed. What are you doing out here so late? your parents are probably worried about you said Candy. I told my parents that I wanted to spend the night alone said Robbie. What about you? why are you out here so late? Mom and Dad are out on a business trip said Candy.
Another five minutes later, they were roasting marshmallows over the fire. I came up here because i'm really depressed said Robbie. I thought looking at the night sky would make me feel better, but nothing is working. I see no reason for you to be depressed, you seem to have a happy life said Candy. I thought I had a happy life, until I found out a little less than a year ago that it's horrible said Robbie. I've done too many bad things over the past several years. Breaking windows, spraying graffiti, beating up Kindergarteners for their lunch money, it took me so long to realize that what I was doing was wrong. I've done a lot of bad things to a lot of good people. I finally dropped everything when I started going out with Tambry. She pretended to be under the influence of a love potion to help me. She finally made me realize that the world didn't revolve around me. I then asked myself, when was the last time I cared about someone else? I totally respected her decision to break up, and realized that the things that were making me happy, were making other people sad. I turned my life around and started doing volunteer work at a homeless shelter, this way I can actually start caring for others. While I did make a lot of friends since that happened, it doesn't help the fact that what happened in the past, still happened. Even if I have reformed, It doesn't help the fact that I still did very bad things, and I have to live with that fact for the rest of my life.
The marshmallows were soon roasted, and were turned into s'mores. After eating them, Robbie looked back down at the town. I don't belong here, I don't belong anywhere he said. We all have things that make us upset, and we've all done things that we regret said Candy. But what happened in the past, is in the past. While we can't fix the past, we can focus on the future. We all make mistakes, but we can learn from them. Everybody deserves a second chance, especially you. Even though you've done some bad things, you are not a bad person. Robbie didn't know what came over him, and found himself giving Candy a hug. He knew, that Candy was 100% right.
Soon the campfire was put out. You know, I do have a second sleeping bag in the tent said Robbie. You mind camping out tonight? I don't a problem with that said Candy. They climbed into the tent, and got into the sleeping bags. I'm so excited, Dipper and Mabel are coming back tomorrow said Candy. Robbie didn't say anything. What's the matter now? asked Candy. It's Dipper, i've been a jerk to him since day one said Robbie. We're going to be working together at the homeless shelter. I want to apologize to him, but I don't think he's willing to accept it. I know what he's like, he's not one to hold a grudge said Candy. If you ask him for forgiveness, he'll give it to you. Yeah, you're probably right said Robbie. He then let out a yawn. Goodnight Candy. Candy also let out a yawn. Night Robbie. The two then fell asleep.
Authors note: Given Robbie's attitude in the show, I wanted to write him in a way where he's not a complete jerk. Deep down, he does have a heart. The reason why I had Candy Chiu comfort him, was because I wanted to write interactions with characters that didn't come into that much contact with each other in the show.
Let me just clarify if that this is not a Robbie X Candy story, they are just friends. I might pair them up in a future story, but there are no promises whatsoever. It all defends on the feedback I get from this one shot.
