It's supposed to be a normal day, Courage said. Nothing weird messing up the day, Courage said. Courage laid down on the floor of the attic in exhaustion. The attic door was barricaded by chairs, dressers, and boards hammered down on it.
Courage trembled as he could heard the footsteps of his "guests". Courage needed Melinda quick. He should've just came with Melinda and her brothers to the grocery store, but no, he chose to stay in the house, and now he was face to face with six horrifying faces.
Courage noticed that the Computer was there. He hopped up on the only chair he hasn't used to barricade the door and turn the Computer on.
"Well, how unexpected," the Computer greeted in his usual sarcastic and mocking tone, "Are you for pleasures or are you going to start smashing my keys like you always do?"
"Melinda!" Courage screamed, typing rapidly on the keyboard and ignoring the Computer's sarcastic words. He had no time for his jokes and quips.
"Calling Melinda," the Computer got into his 'loading' stance, and once he was done loading, the text on his screen spelt 'Melinda' and her voice was heard.
"Hey, Courage," Melinda's voice spoke through Computer. As she started to speak, her words were shown on Computer's screen. "Me and my brothers are almost done grocery shopping. Did you need anything for us to get?"
"I need you to come here, fast, ASAP!" Courage panicked. More footstep were heard, getting louder, which made Courage's panicking a lot worse.
"Are those footsteps?" Melinda asked with a hint of confusion in her voice, "Who's in the house Courage?"
"Mad men! Six crazy mad men!" Courage panicked as he spoke to Melinda, hoping that Melinda would come to his aid quick, "They're my worst enemies! I don't know why they're here, but I doubt it's any good!"
That was when the loud footsteps came to a stop, but Courage wasn't done panicking. It was then that loud banging was now heard, making the dog scream in fear and panic more. "HURRY!" he screamed, hoping Melinda would get the message and come right back to the farmhouse before it's too late.
"Don't worry, Courage," Melinda said, getting the message Courage was trying to send to her, "I'll be there as quick as I can. Be strong."
The call was over, and Computer spoke in his usual voice. "Melinda's coming on over now, twit, so you can relax."
Courage sighed in relief that Melinda was going to come save him from his fate. However, it didn't last long. Courage's ears perked up. He turned to see that a chainsaw was poking out of the door, breaking the wood of the boards, chairs, and dressers that were in its way.
Courage turned to look at the Computer. "Sorry, but you're on your own, twit." The Computer was now shut off, leaving Courage on his own against the psychopaths.
Courage screamed in terror. Soon, a big hole was in the wall created by the chainsaw. Coming out of the door now was Le Quack, one of Courage's known enemies. Courage trembled in fear. Le Quack stared at his enemy for a second, before turning his head to the door.
"Le dog is in zere," Le Quack spoke in his usual french accent. Soon, the other villains showed up. The Black Puddle Queen, Katz, Cajun Fox, Weremole, and Big Toe.
Courage trembled more once they showed up. He wondered how long Melinda was going to come here. Courage started to back away once the villains started to approach him.
Courage went under the table that the Computer was always sitting on. He let a few whimpers of fear. The villains didn't look like they planned to do anything nasty with their enemy. They had looks of concern.
"Were we really that bad?" the Pinky Toe asked his leader as he eyed Courage.
"Guess so, see?" Big Toe answered while looking at Courage as well, "With two cannibals like Cajun Fox and Queenie, a crazy cat like Katz, a gangster like us, a thief like Le Quack, and a feral monster like Weremole, it's like being a candle burning at two ends, see?"
"I told ya he would just run away," Cajun Fox told Katz sternly, with Weremole letting out a growl in agreement.
"What should we do to get the dog to listen?" Katz asked Queenie.
Queenie remembered the one time when she tried to seduce Courage. Courage was pretty resistant to her, but there were some times where Queenie's spell would finally take full effect.
However, Queenie knew she shouldn't seduce Courage. Queenie was about hundreds of years old, older than the other villains. When she was really young, right before she tasted the flesh of human men, Queenie was a huge lot sweeter.
Crouching down, Queenie looked at Courage and made gestures for him to come over. Courage stared at her in fear and shook his head, letting out more whimpers.
Queenie looked concerned. She and the other villains did bad things, especially to Courage, so it really wasn't a surprise that the pink dog didn't trust them.
That was when Queenie started to reach her arms out. She gently picked up Courage and took him out from underneath the table. She hugged tightly as she and the other villains looked at him.
"What are you guys here?" Courage asked, trembling in Queenie's arms as he looked at all the villains around him.
"We heard about Muriel and Eustace's death, dear," Queenie said. She stroked Courage's head with her fingers.
"Yeah, we kind of feel bad for ya," Cajun Fox added.
"Why does it affect you so much?" Courage asked with confusion as Queenie started to pet him.
"Well, we've been trying to outsmart you for so long," Le Quack answered, "And now knowing how much Muriel means to you, I'd be depressed if I've lost something I've cherished for a while."
"Really?" Courage said in confusion.
"Yes," Queenie said before explaining, "Even I know what it feels like. I remembered having someone I loved in my life dearly before I lost her."
"Who was she?" Courage asked.
"I think that's a story for another day," Queenie told him in her sooth, sweet voice.
Katz was just about to say something, when a noise caught Courage and the other villains' attention.
"Courage!" a worried voice called out.
Everyone came out of the attic and downstairs just in time to see not only Melinda, but also her brothers inside the house. They noticed the mess that villains made. Holes, broken glass, and let's not forget broken doors and boards. One of Melinda's brothers, Melvin, glared angrily at the villains standing on the steps once he took notice of them, holding a broken trophy in his paws.
"Which one of you is responsible?!" he angrily asked as Melinda and the other brothers took notice of the villains. The villains sweat dropped and Courage grew nervous. He knew Melvin very well and knew that he had a bad temper.
Every villain looked and pointed their fingers at Le Quack. Le Quack glared at the villains. Melvin growled in anger, putting the trophy on a nearby counter and marching towards Le Quack. Melvin raised one of his paws, long sharp claws popping out.
Before he could scratch Le Quack's face off, he was lifted up in the air and dragged back to the brothers by Lenny's telekinesis. Lenny looked at the villains. He used his telekinesis again, pulling Courage out of Queenie's arms and putting him into Melinda's.
"So, you guys are the six manics Courage called us about?" Lenny spoke. The villains were shocked. They realized that Courage had new caretakers and that he had called them to rescue him.
"Come on, boys," Brook said, cracking his knuckles as he glared at the villains that had broken into the farmhouse, "Let's show these guys what Space Cats like us do to maniacs like them!"
Melinda's brothers then used their telekinesis to lift the villains up. Melinda grew concerned. Looking at them, she felt as if the villains weren't up to any trouble.
"WAIT!"
Courage had jumped out of Melinda's arms and made his way to her brothers. "Don't hurt them! They're harmless!"
"What?" Brook said in confusion as he and the other brothers literally dropped the villains. They looked at Courage as if he had gone crazy.
"It was a false alarm!" Courage told them, "They weren't really going to hurt me, they just wanted to help me because they heard about Muriel and Eustace's passing."
"But they're villains," Daniel protested, "They go around hurting people and they don't care. Why would they care if the people they've been hurting had died?"
"That's because they didn't realize how much Muriel means to me," Courage said, "They just explained it all, and I'm sure they're not finished."
"Oh, they'll be when we're done with them," Melvin said. He was about to use his telekinesis to lift the villains up, but Melinda got in front of him and stared at him sternly.
"Melvin, if the villains want to help Courage, we should let them," Melinda said, "You know what Muriel always says: To forgive and to forget."
"That doesn't mean you can just forgive everyone and forget about the bad things they did," Melvin said with a low hiss.
"Melvin..." Melinda started, her voice being hissy and more stern, she pulled out the rolling pin that Muriel always used to discipline Eustace, "Do you want the rolling pin again?"
Melvin froze. He never liked it when Melinda punished him, especially with the tool that Muriel had used. He and his brothers were always embarrassed by the fact that Melinda was disciplining them and acting like she was in charge, since Melinda was the youngest and they were the oldest. However, when it comes to your 11 older siblings causing chaos almost every day, sometimes it's up to you to take care of things.
"Fine." Melvin sighed in defeat, he and his brothers starting to work on the repairs. Melinda looked at the villains. They looked so innocent. They were lucky that Melinda was able to keep an angry brother from attempting to destroy them.
Melinda was fascinated by the villains. She had never seen some giant talking foot fungus with faces on each of the toes like Big Toe, a ferocious looking mole like Weremole, or a some mysterious sea demon like Queenie.
The one that caught her eyes the most was Cajun Fox. Of course, she knew what a fox was. She just couldn't help but stare at him. Cajun Fox had taken off his sunglasses, revealing his huge, bug sized eyes. Any girl would be grossed out or make fun of his eyes, but Melinda didn't.
Melinda reached her paw and ran her fingers through Cajun's orange fur. Cajun Fox did the same as he ran his fingers around Melinda's ears. Their tails swished and their ears twitched together. This kind of behavior confused the other villains.
"What are they doing?" the Pinky Toe whispered to the other Toes.
"Why are you asking us?" one of the Middle Toes asked.
"I don't know, you tell me," the Pinky Toe countered back.
"Shut it, both of ya, see?" Big Toe hissed, giving a small, but big, nudge to the other Toes, causing them to let a "OW!" in response.
Queenie knew what this was. It was love at first sight. Cajun found someone, and Melinda did the same. Melinda brought her face closer to Cajun's, her eyes turned into a brief rainbow before turning back to pink.
"Can you two just stop?" Katz spoke up, causing Melinda and Cajun Fox to stop what they were doing and look at the other villains. They were uncomfortable with the thing they were doing.
"Yer already making us uncomfortable," Le Quack added.
Melinda and Cajun stared at each other for moment, before backing away in awkwardness. They were quiet, that was when Melinda spoke again.
"Care for a cup of tea?" Melinda asked. She had a warm smile on her face and stared at Cajun Fox. Cajun Fox blinked a bit before putting on his glasses.
"Sure, a cup of tea sounds nice," Cajun Fox said. He followed Melinda into the kitchen, the other villains behind him. Queenie came up besides Melinda as she started preparing the tea.
"So, what is with that thing your eyes did?" Queenie asked, "Your eyes changed to pink and red, but it also turned into rainbow for a second when you looked into Cajun Fox's eyes."
"It's a thing we Space Cats do," Melinda answered, "Our eyes change color when we feel emotion. Rainbow is for romance."
"Oh, so, you're in love with Cajun Fox?" Queenie said teasingly as she had a smile, making Melinda realized her mistake, her cheeks blushing and her eyes turning into a light shade of red in embarrassment.
"Maybe, but I've just met him," Melinda said, blushing harder as Queenie looked at her with her smile.
"Okay, but if you're on a date with him, you can come to me for advice," she said. Melinda just continued preparing tea, brushing off Queenie's comment.
Meanwhile, the boys were at the table, having a conversation. Cajun couldn't help but think about Melinda. Her rainbow colored eyes caught a spark in his attention, especially her silky smooth fur.
"You're in love with someone you just met?" Katz asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Can you blame me?" Cajun said, thinking about Melinda more, "That beautiful black and white fur she has, that beautiful voice, and her beautiful color changing eyes."
That was when Cajun started to picture himself hanging out on the beach with Melinda, going to a fancy restaurant, and going to the carnival and winning her a prize.
"Are you picturing yourselves going on a date?" Katz asked. Cajun froze and stopped thinking. "No," he answered.
That was when Melinda and Queenie showed up, walking to the table with a tea pot, and 10 cups. She filled each cup with tea and gave it to each of the villains, including Big Toe and the other Toes.
"This is some nice tea," Katz said, taking a sip of his and looking at Melinda.
"Thanks, it's a family recipe of mine," Melinda replied, sitting at the table with the villains as Courage stood anxiously.
"So, Melinda, you said you were a Space Cat, right?" Queenie said before asking, "Do you mind telling us about your kind?"
"Sure," Melinda said, before starting to explain the details of her species, "We Space Cats have been around for millions of years. I already told Queenie this, but our eyes change color as a result of emotion. We Space Cats have very unique powers. We can walk and run on water, turn ourselves or other people and objects invisible, cancel invisibility of others, see the invisible, detect supernatural beings, have enhanced hearing and smell, create light, and a whole lot more."
The villains listened to Melinda's explanation. Space Cats were fascinating, especially to Cajun Fox. He gazed into Melinda's eyes as she spoke facts about the Space Cats.
"We Space Cats may have unique powers, but that doesn't protect from the mad scientists. We have weaknesses, just like a lot of creatures in the world do. We have ears sensitive to loud sounds like music or sirens raised to a high volume, especially at maximum. We come from the planet Kitium, and boy, our technology is very enhanced."
"So, Melinda, how did you meet Courage?" Queenie asked.
"Oh, Courage rescued me," Melinda said and started explain, "I was kidnapped by an evil scientist named Deltafert and my brothers tried to rescue me. They met Courage, who, along with his friends, came to Area 51 to bust me out. After they got caught, Courage came and brought his owners and my brothers to help me out. We were in the laboratory when Deltafert attacked us with his mutated monsters. Deltafert threatened to kill Courage, so me and Shirley saved Courage by jumping on his side of the board that he and Deltafert were on. Deltafert fell into some acid, which probably killed him. Ever since, I was grateful and me and my brothers started visiting Courage every week until his owners passed away, so we stayed here and took care of him."
The villains were amazed of Melinda's story. Courage was able to save Melinda from a terrible fate. Cajun Fox stared at Melinda more until the day ended.
The brothers had finished repairs. The farmhouse was looking good as new. Melinda was reading a book the next day until she heard a knock. She opened the door and found a bouquet of roses and a heart shaped box. She got back inside the house and opened up the box, inside were cat shaped chocolate.
Melinda then noticed that there was a note attached to the bouquet. She took it off and read the note: "Roses are red, violets are blue. Your voice and eyes shine and glimmer like the stars in the night. Be my guest, would you like to go out? I'll be waiting at the newest restaurant in town, 'Nowhere Grills'."
Melinda let out a smile. She told her brothers and Courage about her date. She couldn't wait to see her admirer. She was going to prepare for her date. Outside the window was Queenie.
"Cajun is going be happy," she thought.
So here it is, Cajun Fox x Melinda. I hope it's good. It takes place a couple months after Melinda and her brothers started taking care of Courage. Apparently, Cajun had already fallen in love with the cat, and it looks like he want her to go on a date.
