Inspired while writing the second chapter the post credits scene of a devil gives redemption. A version of 5x01. But pre 5x01.

Cain did not want to go to hell. All the time in the world. Dreaming of getting the mark off. Getting his peace. And then he killed Charlotte Richards.

Lucifer had infected him with realizing the guilt. And down he went. Like a stone in the bottom of the ocean. Stuck now in hell. Once the adrenaline wears off. He was fine. He endured a lot of different types of pain to get to this loop.

As he watched the loop change. Trying to get under his skin. From his days as the Sinnerman. To all his adventures around the many years on earth. It tried to find every nook it could take.

Charlotte Richards was just another cost in his life. Eventually he realized even if he killed Amenidial. It wasn't like god would slap him with his mark again. No he would probably get a worse punishment from god. For attempting to hurt a son of his. Which was different than killing Abel his brother. On accident.

So both was a loose loose. Then it was peace after a while. Letting the loop fade in the black. Like all the other things in his life he did. Just the peace existing was. And that was enough for him.

Until one loop... their he stood. A guy he thought he didn't have to see again because he was in hell. Lucifer freaking Morningstar in his noir black and white episode atire. In his 60s crime hell loop. He thought he saw the last of him. When he killed him. And sent him to Hell.

"Well howdy man of hell. How's it going? Fancy a chat." Lucifer said condescendingly.

"Not the time Lucifer. I'm kind of busy here. As you can see." Jimmy Turk Burrows pinned to alley way. He had a lead in this loop. About the stone cold cult. The one loop that always got under his skin. The Moby dick of his.

This guy was always wandering like a eavesdropper. Picking up various jobs. A technician for the criminal underground. Never shot because of the potential pile of information he had collected. Never broke his vow in silence. Until he was killed by assassins.

"I don't know nothing. Whatever your fishing for- until he was interrupted by Cain again. Instead he said. "Yeah you do. Otherwise a guy like you would be splat. Get yourself a deal with your alleged treasure trove." Until the devil behind him speaks.

"Except we both know. He won't. And as you take him. He will be hit. At first chance in ages. To silence a man like him." Lucifer laughs. " A snitch."

"I ain't no snitch man." Burrows said. Attempting to get out of his predicament. "Then what do you suppose, not that I'd be happy to see you. In hell." he sarcastically says. Eye rolling at Burrows, and more at Lucifer. Why was he here, right now?

"Well how about something else, get away from this kryptonite." Lucifer jokes. "I only want to talk, like you said you're in hell." Putting his hands up. "I'm just suggesting, we do something else. You know he will die, before you can do anything else. What do you have to loose?"

"With you, everything can be worse." Cain retorts, thinking of how listening to him. Got him started into this mess, but this one was one of his biggest regrets. Letting Alice Meadows die. Could it be worth it? He knew, Lucifer had a point because soon something was going to happen then Burrows would be gone. Then it'd be right were he started again. And he had a feeling Lucifer could wait.

Sighing. "Okay, and I'm only saying this because you're right. He will die. Give one reason, to regret this Lucifer. And you will regret this." He still had the benefits of his mark, he could take him. If he had to, get some issues resolved as well. Lucifer grinning.

"Alright then, glad we got that out of the way then. Let's get going then. Before anything happens." And they're off. Pushing a protesting Burrows along.

Okay so I know I had not been on this story or site for a long time. I moved to Ao3. And just went back on here. I'll get back to on this. Might be a few chapters, short story at most. Hope you like it. And might come with more stories. Stay tuned.
