"Ah... so this is it..." I marvel at the brilliant blend of greens, yellows, reds, pinks and blues in front of me. I never could have expected to come this far, but I guess I lucked out. I approach the railings of the overlook.
The scene before me was something could have only dreamed of before. Hills covered with patches of color that blend together so well my eyes seem to want to pop themselves out of their sockets to see everything for themselves. The captivating sunset and it's reflection on the lake it's setting on. This is truly a wonderful place. What a shame, I don't have enough vocabulary to describe it. Climbing a mountain on foot while starving is certainly worth the trouble if I'd see something like this.
"Along with all that trouble... hahaha..." I think back on my journey to get here, my horribly planned departure, the steps I took to make sure I would reach a place like this, my stow-away experience, and the shenanigans I went through.
I look around once more, feasting with my eyes. But I feel something's missing... oh... Hahaha... All that struggle just to satisfy a fleeting conversation? ... Man... it's probably too late to think about that at this point. I've done it, all I've got to do is finish and put the dot to it.
With the strength I could muster, I climb over the railing. There was still a bit of space before the drop off, so I sat with my feet dangling off the edge. Oops... my slipper fell. And there goes the other. I watched as they fell. Woo~ that's quite the height, I could barely see them up here!
It was warm. The air around felt good. Never felt this good in... days? Weeks? Is this satisfaction perhaps? Huh... I lie on my side. The grass feels nice and soft. I guess, I could just maybe rest her for a while. Sleep was always nice. Regardless of being able to dream or not.
I close my eyes. I was just too tired. What a shame, I wanted to end this sooner.
I awoke feeling cold. Really cold. Freezing. My teeth even started to chatter. I embrace myself and fold my legs up, trying to keep warm. I open my eyes.
At first, I could only see nothing that stretched as far as I could see. I felt like I was... floating? I stretch my right hand into the darkness, only to feel nothing, reach nothing
"What is going o-?"
Before I could say anything else, I felt something. Something was staring at me, watching me, judging me. I look around, but I still see nothing.
"Interesting... Laren huh..." A woman's voice came from... somewhere. Before I could question it though, my head started to hurt. Memories. Memories I loved, memories I abhorred, memories I'd rather forget, and memories I've forgotten. All resurfaced, mixing and blending into a disgusting amalgamation of colors and emotions. I screamed.
"AHHH!!! STOPHK!" I held my head. But as sudden the pain was, it was gone. I glare at the offender. I could see it's form clearly now. Along with the multitude of red eyes that stared at me. Probably seeing me as the filthy wretch that I am. "You-!"
"... Pitiful ..." it spoke. It's violet eyes, a color I once loved but now hate to hell, stare at me. It must've known now, must've seen. It sighed and held its head , "What a hassle. You definitely would've caused a lot of trouble had you died there."
I try to reply, but it was so cold I unconsciously kept my jaw shut. I was too tired to speak.
It put a finger on it's lips. "Shush, talking now would just waste both of our times." It smiled, "Rest. You deserve it."
I couldn't move anymore, it was warm again, but I'm still too tired. I couldn't keep my eyes open. So I gave up and just slept. Shame, I would've loved to look at her eyes for a bit longer.
I woke up looking up the same old usual plywood ceiling as always. I got up, folded things that needed folding. Hmm... why do I feel... light? Eh, doesn't matter as long as it's nice. I unhook my window. Weee~, it goes as I push it with force. I was about to look out too, but It hit something, causing it to slam back closed which almost hit me in the face.
"OWW!" a voice whined before something crashed down below.
I open the window, gently this time and look down, seeing a BLUE HAIRED girl in a blue dress below clutching her head as she rolled on the ground. She had strange blue crystals behind her that moved with her as she rolled. Then, another girl FLEW by from out nowhere and rushed to the blue girl's side.
"Cirno! Are you alright?" The green haired girl in a green dress with great green wings said as she held the girl 'Cirno' still. What's going on? Why do these girl have wings? Angels? Demons? Fairies? Some other supernatural entity I don't know about? What should I do? aaaahhh! Screw it. I need to know what's going on! I rush out to my house's exit.
"Ugh... that hurt! What... What happened Dai?" I opened the door and see the two beings outside. Cirno seemed to be clutching her head while I could see 'Dai' standing up with a sigh.
"You hit your head on the window." she says while looking back, probably at my window. "This is why I told you to slow down! Look at what happened to you."
"Ughh... but I just had to show... what was it again?" 'Cirno' had an airy look on her face as she said that.
"I have no idea. You just kind off dragged me for a bit back there.", 'Dai' shrugged.
"Well whatever it was, it's important! Now, what was it that dare stop the strongest!?" 'Cirno' started to look around. Which eventually lead to her eyes meeting mine. We stared dead still at each other for a minute, not blinking. Then she looked away, apparently still in a search.
"... scary statue ... " I hear 'Dai' mutter to herself, probably just noticed me then. 'Stautue' is a new one. I'm just collecting these names these days huh...
"Aha! I remember where you are, you!" 'Cirno' stood up and flew into the direction of my bedroom. 'Dai' followed her. Uh oh... I walked down the stairs.
"You! How dare you try to stop me!" 'Cirno' seemed fixated on something on the outside side of the window. I look to see as well, just to see a note pinned on it. Along with was a picture of the face a black haired girl with a big red ribbon.
"Isn't that the shrine maiden?" 'Dai' questioned curiously. A shrine maiden? Is that a job or something?
"Grr..." 'Cirno' clenches her fists. "Are you not going to say sorry?!" The picture of course does not reply. "Then I'll make you!" She materializes a SWORD made out of glass or ice, I don't know which, and slams it into the window. As expected of my reliable window though, it took the hit while shattering that pathetic albeit cool looking sword. Normally, it should've just closed from the force. But because I didn't get the hook out of the way, the window hit it and rebounded, hitting 'Cirno' dead on the face. This probably knocked the poor girl out cold, as she now lay frozen on the ground, limbs splayed out. Good job Window! Take that you... uhhmm... is that water leaking out of her head?
"Cirno!" Dai rushed to her friend and holds her in her arms, hmm... is it just me or her eyes have turned into spirals?
"Uhmm... do you two need help?" I say as I approach the two. Dai apparently just noticed me and is now looking terrified. I've been looked at by a lot of people in a lot of ways, but this one's the worst! I didn't murder anyone did I?!
"I-it moves!? St- stay back! Don't come closer!" She says this as her hands started glowing white. Red flag! I raise my hands! White flag!
"Woah there miss! I just want to help!" I hastily reply. Not planning on getting hit with something like that magical sword anytime soon. I didn't have a single idea on how to treat an unconscious person, moreover an entity like 'Cirno' though.
She just stares at me, put her friend's arm over her shoulder and does us both a favor, flying away swiftly to the direction of a nearby sunflower- what...?
I dumbly stare at the direction the girls flew off. It was no mistake, a huge patch of sunflowers facing the rising sun.
Uwahh... this one's finally made it. Had to write a lot of things before I got to this point, a lot of ideas scrapped because I probably wouldn't be able to use them well enough yet. About "Sanctuary of the Forgotten"... eh... I got stuck on it, so I'll probably delete it if I don't get it different enough from this one.
