Theme Song: Demons, by Imagine Dragons

Monty thought he had it timed out perfectly. He had planned to kill himself when none of his family members were due home for hours on end. He'd bought the painkillers himself, and he had stolen the sharpest knife possible, and he had locked himself in one of the bathrooms in Potter Manor.

He'd swallowed at least twenty of those hard white pills, he sliced both of his wrists open, and everything was a smudged blur after that.

He could remember a lot of pain, and his world slowly going black as he fell to the floor, curling up and clutching his stomach in pain.

Blood surrounded his head, and he thought he might have hurt his head when he collapsed.

He was feeling so tired... And so he let his eyes close for a long time.

Nobody would care... Right?

The next thing he remembered, he was waking up in hospital. He felt sad. The hospital was a place where he was going to be saved, and he wanted the opposite of that.

He kept his eyes shut. He was forcing himself into unconsciousness. Hopefully he'd die sooner or later.

"He should have woken up by now."

"He's been out for a week."

"They're thinking about shocking him awake."

Monty Potter slightly groaned. Those voices were his parents- They weren't going to let him die so easily.

Great.

As Monty just lay there, wondering what to do next, his head gave a nasty throb. He whimpered and then he silently cursed.

Great, now I've got to live, when I don't want to. Wonderful.

"Did you hear that?"

"Monty?"

"Monty!"

"What?!" Monty snapped groggily. He heard his father, Henry, let out a soft 'yes!' and his mother, Charlotte, squeak happily.

Monty opened his eyes and he could see his parents standing over him, tears in their eyes.

"Okay, I'm awake. What else do you want?" Monty asked coldly.

Henry paled, and he stayed silent.

"What do you mean?" Charlotte asked.

"Because I hate being alive." Monty said, rolling his dark blue eyes. "Nana awaits."

"Like- why do you hate being alive?" Henry asked, trembling as he sat down in his chair, still white as a ghost.

"Because." Monty said slowly. "I'm depressed, didn't want to admit it. I've got the scars to prove it."

"We know you have the scars, physical and mental." Charlotte said.

"And we want to help you." Henry added.

Monty laughed bitterly.

"And what if I don't want any help?"

"Then'll we'll make you get help." Henry said stubbornly.

Monty was frowning, looking emotionless as he stared at Henry.

"Fine." He snapped. "Fine. If it means that much to you, I'll get help, even though I don't want it."

And Monty felt tears burn at the corner of his eyes.

And Henry felt like breaking down.

At least Monty agreed to get help, even if he didn't want help.

Monty was home.

And was avoiding the bathroom he tried to kill himself in.

Henry and Charlotte understood that Monty just needed some time alone, coping with everything that happened to him.

Henry and Charlotte also advised Monty not to go back to Hogwarts just yet. The term had already begun, but Monty wasn't returning until the end of October.

Meanwhile, Monty was in touch with the students and staff at Hogwarts.

The Headmaster of Hogwarts, Armando Dippet, was sending letters to Monty daily, questioning Monty about his mental state, and saying the professors and house elves missed him.

Monty smiled when Dippet sent him a picture of the one hundred house elves, fifteen of them holding up a sign that said WE MISS YOU, MASTER MONTY!

Monty had just smiled, and showed his parents and his grandfather, Alexander Potter, the photo.

Monty spent the days walking around the grounds of Potter Manor. It was something he loved, and he spent most of his time outside.

He loved climbing up trees, and he would often sit up there with a bag of toffees and a book to read.

It soon became Monty's favorite thing to do.

No one was surprised when Monty set up a tent in the garden, and slept there most nights.

Monty had woken up one night, from what seemed like a nightmare. He lay on his camping bed, breathing heavily.

He couldn't remember what the dream was about, but Monty picked up his book, and continued reading by his torchlight.

Rustle.

Monty flinched. He placed the book on the floor and he got out of bed, snatching up his wand.

"Hello?" He whispered.

"Hello there." Henry mumbling, tripping over his two feet.

"What are you doing?"

"I saw your torchlight." Henry said. "I was being paranoid, sorry about that, so I had to check on you."

"It's alright." Monty said, yawning loudly. "I'd woken up, I was reading to get back to sleep."

Monty jumped as a bang. was heard from outside, and rain began pouring down.

"You can sleep in my camp bed tonight." Monty said. "I'll sleep in the chair."

"No, I'll sleep in the chair."

"No, I will!"

Eventually, Monty curled up in the armchair, but his limbs felt so sore Henry insisted that Monty climb in beside him on the camp bed.

Monty climbed in beside Henry, and placed his head on Henry's chest. He could hear the comforting beat of Henry's heart, and Monty smiled.

"Dad?" Monty asked.

"Mmm.. Yes son?" Henry replied.

"I don't think I want to go back to Hogwarts." Monty said. "I love it there, I truly do, but I really can't go back."

Henry stroked Monty's hair.

"I don't have a problem with that." Henry said. "But why don't you want to go back?"

"Abraxas Malfoy isn't at any other wizarding school." Monty quietly mumbled.

Henry felt himself wake up.

"Monty?"

"Yes Dad?" Monty replied.

"Was Malfoy the root of your problems?" Henry asked.

There was a deafening silence, and Henry knew.

"Yes." Monty mumbled. "Malfoy caused it all."

Monty woke up, crying softly into Henry's chest. Henry was still asleep, and Monty didn't want him to wake up.

Monty felt Henry's arms tighten around him, and Henry groaned.

"Are you alright?" Henry groggily asked.

Monty shook his head, and he just cried.

Henry stroked his hair, saying soft comforting words , and Monty felt his tears slowing down.

"Is it better now?"Henry asked.

Monty nodded and he buried his head in Henry's chest, hearing the comforting heartbeat.

"Nightmares have been happening tonight." Monty confessed. "They're really bad, but I can never remember what they're about."

"Oh, great." Henry said. "But I'm very proud of you for telling me, and not bottling it up inside of you. It isn't good for you."

"I know that now." Monty mumbled.

He feels safe, Henry thought silently. That's all I want for him.

"I'm transferring schools." Monty said the next morning.

"Cause the root of his problems is still living at Hogwarts, and Monty will not be returning." Henry said, sipping his tea.

"It's fine with me." Charlotte said.

"Same." Alexander added. "Which school are you thinking about going to?"

"Ilvermorny!" Monty said.

"Well, that was quick." Henry teased. "I'll owl the Headmaster."

"Thank you." Monty said, smiling until his face hurts.

He's finally going to be free.

You should have died, freak!

The note arrives after breakfast, and Monty runs out of the room.

Henry is worried, and he runs after Monty.

Alexander goes after them, Charlotte following him.

They find Henry and Monty sitting in the corridor, Henry comforting Monty, while looking very pissed off.

"Now, Malfoy is saying Monty should have died, and that he's a freak." Henry hissed out furiously. "How dare he!"

"I'm not letting this go any longer." Alexander said, snatching the note off the ground. "I'm taking this to Dippet."

"Do what you want, I don't fucking care!" Monty sobbed.

Abraxas Malfoy is going to be expelled.

But Monty had an idea.

Dippet thought it was brilliant.

Henry set up the Muggle camera, and looks at Monty, who is sitting at the kitchen table.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Henry asked quietly, as he was about to hit RECORD.

"Yes." Monty said firmly. "Press record."

The end of the term is near, and the friends and family of Fleamont Potter are excited for what's about to happen.

Dippet stands up.

"Silence, immediately!" He snaps. "Everyone, be quiet. I've got something to tell you."

"The footage that I'm about to show you is the story of a broken teenager. This boy is transferring to Ilvermorny because of the horrors that have happened to him while at Hogwarts.

The bullies will be expulsed immediately!" Dippet shouted. "Bullying will not be tolreted at Hogwarts!"

"Play the footage." He added calmly.

Dippet sat down, and Albus Dumbledore pressed a button on a strange object.

The screen is plastered with horrific images. Bloody knifes, painkillers, splatters of blood, a rope.

"This was my life."

The dark haired boy is sitting on his bed. Everyone knows it's Fleamont Potter.

"I cut myself. I tried to overdose. I tried to slit my wrists open. I thought about strangling myself with a piece of rope."

No one speaks.

"Abraxas Malfoy and Orion Black were the cause of all this. They're the reason why, that I, Fleamont Harry Potter, tried to commit suicide."

Everyone looks disgusted.

"That's sick."

Those two made my life at Hogwarts a living hell. Every chance they got, they bullied me. They never missed a chance.

I almost considered jumping off the Astromy Tower when Albus Dumbledore came into the tower and saw me sitting on the rails.

He took five points off me for being out of bed, and told me he thought the stars were beautiful too.I can't blame him.

Thanks Professor, for saving my life unknowingly. Otherwise I would be dead, and I would the lost Potter."

Dumbledore looks shocked. He never knew he saved the life of a suicidal teenager.

He wished he had seen the signs earlier.

For a great wizard, he was very stupid.

"My parents and grandfather have been a massive help for me. See, this is why you should always treasure your family, because you never know when they could be gone.Earlier today, Abraxas Malfoy send me a note."

"Oh great, not this arsehole."

"I thought he might have been apologizing, or at least checking up on my mental state. But hell no. He told me I should have died, and that I was a freak."

"That's disgusting!" A Ravenclaw screams.

"I felt... so lonely. I felt as if I wasn't worth anything. I ran out of the kitchen, and my father ran after me. My mother and grandfather ran after him.I was sobbing hysterically. Dad calmed me down, but I still had tears pouring down my face.Once Grandda read the note, he said he was reporting this to Dippet. I told him I didn't fucking care."

"Expel them, Dippet, you old sod!" A Professor screams.

"Believe me, the paperwork is sorted."

"And now, I, Fleamont Potter, am transferring to Ilvermorny. Too many bad memories at Hogwarts, but I will visit.

And Malfoy. The reason why I didn't die is because I fucking beat death, and I've got the battle scars to prove to everyone."

Monty pulled the bandages off his arms, and everyone gasped in horror.

Two enormous scars were snaking up on Monty's arms, and what seemed like dozens of thin scars were crisscrossing on his arms too.

"These are my scars. I'd started cutting in first year."

"They better go to Azkaban!" A tiny first year yelled.

"Dad, please stop! Look, I know you're pissed- Yeah, Dad, it's in the past!"

"Uh, no it's not."

"Anyways. I tried to commit suicide. I nearly died because of a overdose and from sliting my wrists open.

I woke up in the hospital. I remember thinking I wanted to die. I was forcing the life out of me.

Now I know it was wrong. Im nearly four months clean, thought it certainly felt tempting today when I got Malfoy's note.

Since my first year, I cut myself. Since my second year, I was feeling suicidal.

Though I kept these thoughts hidden during the day, it didn't stop them from circling around my mind at night, and ruining my life.

Thanks, Malfoy, Black, for ruining my life. Thanks a lot.

It's because of them that I cut. It's because of them why I tried to commit suicide. It's because of them why I cried myself to sleep every night.

Don't let bullies ruin your life. Don't cut. Don't commit suicide.

I let this happen, and look at me now."

Monty started to cry, the tears pouring down his face.

"My name is Fleamont Potter, and this is my story."

The video ended there, and the students began shouting abuse at the two bullies, and some people even threw hexes at them.

"As for today." Dippet annouced. "Abraxas Malfoy, Orion Black, you are officially expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please pack your- Miss McGonagall, what are you doing?"

"Setting off fireworks." Minerva McGonagall said innocently.

"Go ahead, no one cares, just don't break anything." Dippet said, waving his hand carelessly as he sat down. Then he muttered to Dumbledore. "Albus, film this for Monty."

"You didn't need to ask."

"See this Monty! Celebrations at Hogwarts, because Malfoy and Black have been expelled! Woo hoo!"

Monty laughed loudly, and Henry, Charlotte, and Alexander laughed too.

"Good luck at Ilvermorny, Monty! Hogwarts will miss you!"

"Are you nervous?" Charlotte asked Monty, the night before Monty started Ilvermorny.

"Yes, but I'll make through it." Monty said, cutting up his chicken. "Let's hope I don't encounter another Malfoy and Black, eh?"

"I hope so." Henry said. "But you'll be prepared."

"You bet I will." Monty said.

"Write to us everyday!" Alexander said, hugging Monty tightly.

"Yes, Grandda, you've only said that forty six times." Monty teased, hugging his father tightly.

"Monty, I'm only worried about you!" Alexander said softly.

"Don't worry, this is a whole new experience!" Monty said happily. "Im going to America!"

"And we wish you the best of luck." Charlotte said.

"Thanks Mum." Monty said. "I'd hug you, but Grandda isn't letting go of me."

Monty took a deep breath.

He'd arrived at Ilvermorny, and he was about to be Sorted.

His legs were shaking, but he stroked the material of his robes carefully, and he thought about his parents and grandfather.

"Monty Potter, if you could come into the hall, you will be sorted into your Ilvermorny house."

Monty walked into the middle of the hall.

Horned Serpent.

Wampus Cat.

Pukwudgie.

Thunderbird.

Monty looked at the statues. The houses of his new school, Ilvermorny.

The Thunderbird flapped it's wings.

The Pukwudgie raised it's arrow.

The jewel on the Horned Serpent's forehead glowed.

The Wampus Cat roared.

Everyone watching from the balcony above gasped loudly.

"Is this possible?" Monty asked.

"Yes." The Headmaster, Owen Williams, said slowly. "But it's very rare. You are very special, Monty Potter. This way, if you please."

"Yes sir." Monty said, following the Headmaster.

He was lead into a small room.

Monty gasped. They were of wands in that small room.

"Wow." Monty said, looking awed. "This is... Amazing."

"You can pick your wand, though I know you have your own." Owen said (Monty was to call him Owen in private)

"Yes Owen."

Monty felt his magic pull on one dusty looking wand in a glass case.

"Uh, Owen? My magic is chosing the wand in the glass case."

"My goodness!" Owen gasped, unlocking the glass case and shoving the wand in Monty's hands. "Cast a spell, quickly!"

"Lumos!" Monty said.

The bright white light lit up the room and Owen blinked hard as Monty cancelled the spell.

"Holy Merlin." Owen said, looking like a little kid who had too much sugar.

"What?!" Monty said.

"It's the wand of the founder of this school." Owen said excitedly. "Isolt Sayre."

Monty's mouth fell open.

"Uh, what, are you serious?" Monty stumbled awkwardly.

"Very serious." Owen said excitedly. "It's fifteen and a half inches, the hair of a Pukwudgie, the jewel and horn of a Horned Serpent, the claw of a Wampus Cat, and the feather of the Thunderbird are enclosed inside."

"Why did it chose me?" Monty asked, holding the precious wand in his hand.

"Isolt made sure the wand would only pick a person that had gone through the amount of pain she herself had gone through, maybe even more." Owen explained. "It will work for you, and only you."

"This is such an honor." Monty whispered. "I'm really holding Isolt Sayre's wand. Wow."

"About your Sorting." Owen said. "Which house are you going to chose? You can chose all four houses."

"What house did Isolt found?" Monty asked.

Owen smiled.

"The Horned Serpent."

"That's my choice." Monty said. "The Horned Serpent."

"Welcome to Ilvermorny, Monty Potter. You are officially a Horned Serpent." Owen said.

Monty smiled.

"Everyone, this is Monty Potter, our new transfer student from Hogwarts in Scotland. Please make him feel welcome." Owen said, nodding to Monty, who was sitting at the Horned Serpent table with his fellow housemates.

"Why did you transfer from Hogwarts?" A girl the same age as Monty asked.

"Trauma." Monty said, looking at his empty plate. "Where's the food?"

"You say what you want, duh." One girl said, smiling teasingly at him. "I'm Euphemia Williams, pleasure."

"Monty Potter, but you knew that." Monty said, smiling. "Uh, steak?"

A slice of steak appeared on the plate, with plenty of gravy, and Monty grinned.

"I love Ilvermorny." He declared.

"So do I." Euphemia said, and she smiled.

Monty grinned as he cut up his steak. He was far out of the way of bullied, he was having dinner at Ilvermorny, and he already had a new friend.

Dad, Mum, Grandda,

HELLO, ITS ME, IT IS MONTY AND IM SO HAPPY!

I've already got three friends! Three! I can't believe it! Their names are Euphemia Williams from Horned Serpent, Micheal Brown from Wampus Cat and Alex O'Malley from Wampus Cat too.

I love Ilvermorny! You can literally have anything you like for breakfast, lunch and dinner! All you have to do is say what you want, and it appears on your plate! How cool is that?!

And my Ilvermorny house is... Wait for it...

HORNED SERPENT!

Yes! I'm a Horned Serpent with Euphemia, or Effie. All the statues chose me, though. Owen said I could chose all four, but I went with Horned Serpent.

There's a bunch of Pukwudgies guarding the school, and there's one who likes me, because the wand of Isolt Sayre, one of the founders of Ilvermorny, wanted me to be it's next owner.

The Pukwudgie is called William, and he doesn't really get along with anyone, but when me and my mates were walking around the grounds, and as I was showing off with my wand, William saw the wand.

"Isolt's wand chose you?" William asked.I nodded.

"You must be worthy of her." William said, reaching out his hand to shake mine."I'm William."

"I'm Monty." I said. Now I have four new friends.

My room in Horned Serpent is beautiful. It's dark blue (like my eyes) and a lovely deep green that me and my mates painted. We had a great time, though we got paint all over us. We get to decorate our rooms whatever we like.

Classes don't start until next week. Ilvermorny gives the students a week to settle in, then they start classes.

Oh, the Quidditch! Quidditch is the soul of everyone who attends Ilvermorny! Including me!Twice today a Quaffle has smashed my window, thanks to Micheal. Cheers Mike!

Oh shit, I've got to go. I promised the gang we'd visit the graves of Isolt and her husband, James.

Love,Monty.

P.s. Everyone says hi, and Micheal asks do you like Quidditch

.P.p.s Hiya Potters! - Mike

P.p.p.s Hello there, England! - Alex

P.p.p.p.s. Hello!! - Euphemia.

P.p.p.p.p.s Help me! - Monty.

Monty knew he was on the way to recovery, as he laughed and joked with his amazing new friends.

They called themselves, the Marauders.

And Monty loved life more then he thought was possible.
