· A/N hello and welcome this is, going to be taking place after arc four, I really hope it's good. I'm not great at writing, but I'll try my best. any constructive criticism, is welcome. and now on to the fanfic.

Emilia, had just finished her studies, for the day and was stretching her arms. When she, heard a knock on the door.

Knock, knock, knock.

Through the door, came the voice of the demi-human maid Frederica.

[Frederica] Emilia-sama your tea is ready.

[Emilia] come in.

Emilia called, out to Frederica to come in. Walking, inside and pouring the tea the maid turned around, to leave when she heard a sound, from Emilia telling her to stop.

[Emilia] w-wait, could… could you help me with something?

Emilias voice, was shaky a bit nervous about what she, was about to ask.

[Frederica] of course, Emilia-sama how may this maid, be of service?

Giving a courtesy, Frederica regarded the half-elf, with the utmost respect.

[Emilia] well you see… you know how Subaru told me, that he l l l-loves me?

[Frederica] yes.

[Emilia] well I've been thinking, I still don't know much about love, and thought that maybe you could teach me, a thing or two. I know Subaru said, that I could take my time, and that I shouldn't rush it. But I reeeeeeally, want to give my knight, an answer as soon as possible, so could you please help me?

Taking in, the silver-haired girls' words and running them through her mind. Frederica responded, with what she hoped, would help the girl who sat before her.

[Frederica] of course Emilia-sama… were shall I begin. Well, there are, many different types of love, from parental, to brotherly, to sisterly, to romantic and so on, and so forth. I'm sure you're already familiar with parental love.

[Emilia] yep.

Emilia nodded, enthusiastically.

[Frederica] well, then let's talk about what I believe to be romantic love. when you're with someone you love romantically you will feel really happy, now I'm not saying that just because you feel really happy with someone that you're in love with them. I am however saying that it could be a sign that you may have a strong emotional connection for said person. are you following along so far?

[Emilia] absolutely, so if I feel happy just by being near them that might be a sign that I love them. But I shouldn't assume just because of that.

[Frederica] correct.

[Emilia] ok, please continue.

[Frederica] along with feeling happy you'll also find yourself thinking of that person a lot you may end up being jealous of the people who get to spend more time with him then you and if you truly love someone then more than anything you'll want them to be happy even at the cost of your own happiness.

[Emilia] I think I understand. Thanks Frederica that was reeally helpful.

[Frederica] I'm glad I could be of service to you Emilia-sama.

And with this Frederica left Emilia alone in the room with nothing but her thoughts.

I think that maybe if I spend just a little more time with Subaru i'll finally figure out how I feel about him. Emilia thought to herself

[Emilia] yep I definitely just need to spend a little more time with my knight posthaste.

Emilia then left the room in search of Subaru. On her way to find Subaru she bumped into Petra the newest maid of the mansion. And with a quick bow Petra spoke.

[Petra] good afternoon Emilia-sama.

[Emilia] good afternoon to you too. Petra do you know where Subaru is.

[Petra] last I checked he was outside tending to the flowers with Rem.

[Emilia] alright thanks Petra.

[Petra] my pleasure Emilia-sama.

Emilia was walking to the courtyard when she saw Rem and Subaru talking about something. As Emilia got closer she decided to hide, not so that she could listen in on their conversation but so that she didn't bother them.

(She is totally listening in)

[Rem] Subaru-kun has done a great job at tending to the flowers.

[Subaru] yeah your hero is the best gardener ever.

[please kill me]

[Rem] yes, my hero truly is the best.

[Subaru] well then I think your hero deserves a little reward don't you think?

[Rem] yes indeed and as for your reward.

Rem got closer until she was mere inches away from Subarus face.

[Rem] how's this Subaru-kun.

After saying this Rem Locks lips with Subaru forcing her tongue into his mouth, to which he accepted by rubbing his tongue against hers and grabbing her waist, Pulling her closer to him so that the only thing between them was the clothes that they wore.

Emilia was socked she couldn't no she didn't want to believe that Subaru the boy who had always reminded her of how much he loves her would go behind her back like this sure she remembers him saying that Rem was also a very important person to him but didn't he also say that he would wait for her to stand by her side so that when she falls for him he'll be there to catch her. Tears started streaming down her angelic face as she turned and ran straight to her room using her arm to hide the tears hoping no one would notice her sobbing or hiccups luckily though she hadn't bumped into anyone on her way to her room. Once there she quickly closed the door and crawled into bed sobbing and wailing into the soft pillow her head now rested on. Maybe he didn't love her anymore maybe she took to long or he finally realized how bad it would be for him Emilia thought to herself. As Emilia cried she slowly came to a realization that probably the only person in the world who could ever truly love a half-elf let alone one with silver hair and amethyst eyes had now been taken from her, NO she let him escape she thought that she could take her own sweet time coming up with her answer only to find out that she was to late.

[Emilia] at least he'll be happy with Rem.

At this something clicked inside Emilias head causing her to realize.

[Emilia] oh so this is what love is.

And with that Emilia cried she cried and cried until finally she fell into the soothing embrace of sleep

It was just another day for Natsuki Subaru, but today was just a little bit different recently Emilia had gotten a letter from Anastasia requesting for them to meet, Emilia had said yes, so now Emilia and Subaru were on their way to the capital of lugnica to meet them.

[Emilia] we've finally arrived now we're Julius and Anastasia? Oh there's Julius coming to us now.

Julius walked up to the pair with his usual knightly attire. Once there he bowed and spoke.

[Julius] lady Emilia it is a pleasure to see you again. Unfortunately lady Anastasia had something come up with a rather important client, it's something extremely important she hopes you'll accept her utmost apology.

[Emilia] it's alright she doesn't need to apologize.

[Julius] thank you for your understanding. And now that, that's done, I must ask what you're doing here Subaru I thought Anastasia told lady Emilia that this was a private matter to only be discussed with lady Emilia.

[Emilia] I didn't realize that the thing we were going to be discussing would be something so important that not even my knight is supposed to hear.

[Julius] I must apologize on my lady's behalf for the misunderstanding. Nevertheless even though it pains me greatly to not spend time with my good friend Subaru, I need to talk to lady Emilia about personal affairs.

[Subaru] yeah yeah yeah I understand the situation. I'm going to go explore a bit on my own so how about we meet back here once we're all done.

[Emilia] that's a great idea Subaru we'll get going now so please don't get into any trouble.

[Subaru] hey you don't need to worry about me all the time alright Emilia-tan.

[Emilia] ok I'll try not to worry too much.

[Julius] if I may lady Emilia. We should get going now.

Julius gestured for Emilia to follow him.

[Emilia] I shall return posthaste.

[Subaru] who even says posthaste in this day and age?

Subaru said this while waving them goodbye. After awhile he couldn't see them anymore.

[Subaru] well I guess I better get going.

As Subaru wondered the capital he came upon a familiar stall.

[Subaru] how's it going Kadomon.

[Kadomon] it's you again.

Kadomon started staring at and around Subaru.

[Kadomon] hmm doesn't seem that you brought a girl with you this time.

After saying that the merchant couldn't help, but smirk.

[Subaru] well…

[Kadomon] they dumped you.

[Subaru] huh.

[Kadomon] what did you expect. You shouldn't go around flirting with every girl you see.

[Subaru] wait wait hold up. Do you mean to tell me that you're continuing to make fun of me for that. First off One of those people is someone I work with we were just doing some shopping. And well yeah the other one is someone I'm in a romantic relationship with right now.

Well, That's how it was at the time but now I am seeing two girls I am scum aren't I. Subaru fell into a pit of self-loathing that would've continued had the merchant not said anything.

[Kadomon] well are you gonna buy something or not.

[Subaru] oh no I'm just browsing right now.

[Kadomon] then what are you doing bothering me!!! We're not so buddy buddy that you can drive away my customers!!!

[Subaru] alright alright I'm going sheesh.

[Subaru] I wonder if Emilia's done talking with Julius?

As Subaru walked back to the rendezvous point, he noticed two people talking Subaru immediately recognized them as Emilia and Julius. It seemed they were having fun. And just as Subaru was about to ask if they were done talking Julius pulled Emilia into a tight embrace with his left hand kissing her lips and fondling her breasts with his free right hand, Emilia instead of trying to resist leaned into Julius and wrapped her arms around him. Subaru was socked into silence after a couple of minutes of them doing this Julius and Emilia finally separated Julius and Emilia said their Farewells and Julius left Emilia who went to sit down on a bench to wait for Subaru. After about 5 minutes Subaru decided to walk up to Emilia and pretend that nothing happened. As he walked up Emilia noticed him.

[Emilia] hey Subaru did you have fun.

[Subaru] yeah did you

Emilia blushes

[Emilia] y-yeah, I had aloooot of fun.

Emilia and Subaru rode in a Dragon carriage back to Rosswals mansion during which neither said a word since Subaru was trying his hardest not to break down crying and Emilia was thinking about Julius. Once they arrived Subaru immediately hopped out of the carriage.

[Subaru] *yawn* I'm going to go to bed see you in the morning.

[Emilia] alright Subaru see you tomorrow.

Once inside the mansion Subaru ran as fast as he could until he reached his room, he quickly opened the door rushing inside and closing it behind him. Jumping onto the bed Subaru curled up into a ball crying. Trying to figure out were he went wrong.

[Subaru] *sniff* *sniff* I guess I didn't try hard enough for her… Maybe I wasn't strong enough or smart enough no I'm just not enough.

Subaru cried he cried so much he didn't even notice the blonde drill haired loli take hold of his hand.

As Emilia woke up, she noticed that she felt a lot calmer, then she did when she went to sleep. Surprisingly she didn't feel all that tired, so she decided to roam the hallways, of the mansion before going back to bed. As Emilia was roaming the halls she was thinking. I should really talk to Subaru about what happened yesterday I wonder how he'll feel when I tell him I lov-.

crash*

Before Emilia could finish her thoughts, she bumped into someone.

[Emilia] sorry sorry, I didn't notice you… ah Subaru.

It was only then that Emilia realized that the person she bumped into, was Subaru who was also in his nightly attire.

[Subaru] the one and only, um Emilia-tan have you been… crying?

As Subaru gazed at Emilias tear-stricken face he couldn't help but be angry at whoever did such a thing to his Emilia-tan.

Oh no I'm such a dunder head I forgot to wipe my tear stains off my face. It was then that Emilia had also taken note of something different about Subarus face.

[Emilia] Subaru it kind of looks like you've been crying too. Mind telling me what's going on?

[Subaru] ah you don't need to worry about me. besides what about you what happened?

[Emilia] well it's about yesterday.

[Subaru] yesterday?

[Emilia] mhm let's go into my room to talk.

As Emilia gestured for Subaru to fallow her, they start making idle conversation.

[Emilia] the weather is nice.

[Subaru] yep completely calm and relaxing.

They eventually ended up in Emilias room.

[Emilia] so, are you going to tell me what's going on?

[Subaru] only if you, tell me what's going on with you first.

[Emilia] ok. So, it's about something that happened yesterday. I talked, to Frederica a bit. And then I went to talk *sniff* t-t-to… y-you b-b-but…

As soon as Emilia started to cry Subaru rushed over to her pulling her into an embrace and guiding her to the bed and sitting her down.

[Subaru] are you feeling alright?

Emilia shook her head.

[Emilia] no, not really.

[Subaru] well, if I'm being completely honest. Something happened to me yesterday too.

[Emilia] what happened?

[Subaru] well it has to do with Julius.

[Emilia] you saw Julius yesterday.

Subaru was very confused by what Emilia had just said.

[Subaru] Don't you remember Emilia? we saw him yesterday.

Emilia was shocked By Subarus words they didn't have, someone as important as Julius come over yesterday.

[Emilia] I, don't understand Julius wasn't here yesterday. Was he?

Maybe he came over after I fell asleep? Emilia decided that was probably what happened.

[Emilia] oh, I think I got it. So, did you enjoy your time with him?

She said this in an innocent manner not realizing the impact her words would have upon the raven-haired youth.

[Subaru] oh yeah, I enjoyed my time with him.

The half-elf candidate clasped her hands together and said.

[Emilia] that's great I'm reeeally glad.

[Subaru] is that what you wanted to hear Emilia? Cuz guess what I saw you two kissing and making out.

[Emilia] I did no such thing!!!

[Subaru] YOU CAN STOP… I saw you I didn't want to believe it at first. I tried my best to deny it. But i… I…

[Emilia] I didn't see Julius yesterday.

She, spoke in a calm soothing manner.

[Subaru] I saw yo-.

But before Subaru could finish his sentence Emilia cut in.

[Emilia] what about you. I saw you k-kissing R-R-Rem. Even after everything, even though you said you'd wait for me.

After taking a deep breath Emilia continued.

[Emilia] I didn't kiss Julius. I promise you I have never and will never kiss him.

Subaru was conflicted. On one hand Emilia always keeps her promises. On the other hand, he did see her kiss, Julius. Something wasn't right and he needed to figu-wait what did she say.

[Subaru] did you say you saw me and Rem kissing?

[Emilia] yes, I saw you two kissing yesterday.

Emilia said this a bit angrily.

[Subaru] Emilia Rem is in a coma.

[Emilia] huh…?

[Subaru] don't you remember after, the whale hunt, she and Crusch were attacked by greed and gluttony.

[Emilia] but then how come I saw you kiss her?

[Subaru] how about we tell each other what we remember happening yesterday.

[Emilia] ok you go first What do you remember happening yesterday?

[Subaru] I remember waking up and going to the capital.

[Emilia] why were you going to the capital?

[Subaru] Anastasia had requested we meet up with her and discuss some things. After we got there, it turned out Julius was the only one that was there because Anastasia had an emergency meeting. Also, what they wanted to discuss was something that I wasn't supposed to hear. So, we split up I searched the market and hanged out with Kadomon for a little while before heading back. Once I got there, I saw you and Julius huddled up close. Then out of nowhere he k-k-kisses you.

As Subaru continued explaining what happened yesterday, he kept getting more and more angry and frustrated.

[Subaru] a-and th-then you l-l-leaned into the kiss.

As all of Subarus anger and frustration turned into despair Emilia brought him into an embrace bringing her lips to his ear she whispered.

[Emilia] Subaru I love you…

Upon saying this Emilia blushed. And pulled back still holding him in an embrace but now able to clearly see his face and the light blush that now had taken residents on his cheeks.

[Subaru] what? I don't understand where's this coming from.

[Emilia] I didn't know how I felt before but after what I experienced yesterday… or at least what I thought was yesterday. I came to understand that I love you I reeeally love you Subaru even if you're a dunderhead some times you'll always be my dunderhead.

With every word the half-elf spoke her blush got a deeper and ever-increasing shade of red.

[Emilia] also I would never kiss Julius. Especially since I have an exceptional kisser here. I would know since we kissed in the tomb.

Emilia winked at Subaru causing him to blush.

[Subaru] so uh…what do you remember happening yesterday?

[Emilia] well…my day started off with me studying some stuff after that I talked to Frederica about love and how to tell if you love someone. So, I walked to where you were working with Rem w-w-when all of a sudden you kissed her and pulled her closer to you.

Emilia felt like her heart had been crushed when she saw that happen.

[Emilia] after I saw that I ran into my room to cry. And well eventually I fell asleep.

[Subaru] hey Emilia do you think that maybe those were just dreams?

[Emilia] most definitely. But even so I still love you.

[Subaru*blushes* I love you too.

[Emilia] then make me the only one.

[Subaru] what do you mean.

[Emilia] I want to be the only one who makes your heart flutter I want to be the only mother to all your children when you feel like the Wight of the world is pushing you down, I want to be the first person you reach your hand out for help I want to be your world. Like you are mine.

And with one final breath Emilia spoke

[Emilia] I want you to be mine and mine alone. Just like I'll be yours.

Without any warning Emilia caught Subaru's lips with her own. The raven-haired boy reciprocated by bringing her even closer in an embrace placing his hands on her hips. They stayed like this for awhile their tongues battled for dominance before separating a thin line of saliva connected Their mouths.

[Emilia] *embarrassed* so Subaru…

the silver-haired beauty spoke.

[Emilia] I was wondering… if you'd you know like to sleep here w-with me?

Subaru got so flustered that it was like looking at a big red tomato.

[Subaru] w-wait a minute, Emilia-tan. Shouldn't, we wait before we, s-s-sleep together?

[Emilia] it'll just be, for tonight… I uh… don't want to sleep alone, after that nightmare.

Steam came shooting, out of Emilias head, embarrassed for reasons unknown to her. I mean it's not like we're doing anything weird

[Subaru] Emilia-tan, do you really, want to sleep with me?

[Emilia] well, it's just to make sure, that we don't have nightmares ok.

Subaru decided, that if Emilia really, wanted it then he'd just have to deal with the consequences later.

[Subaru] alright Emilia-tan. But I'll probably get scolded by Ram and Beako come morning.

Climbing into bed the two lovers looked longingly into each others eyes.

[Emilia] good night, Subaru.

[Subaru] sweet dreams Emilia-tan.

In a few moments the silver-haired half-elf and her knight were fast asleep.

Great done this took way longer than it should've buuuuuuut on another note, this is supposed to be a one shot but if you guys want another chapter or two, I have some ideas just let me know by leaving a review or something.
