So I got the idea for this oneshot by watching a video from the youtube channel The Infographics Show as well as from a farat picture of Specter that made him appear as if he were being controlled by Lightning.

It's a cool Monday morning that Specter wakes up to in the Kogami mansion, he looks over at his clock that's sitting on his nightstand to see that it reads 7am. He stretches his arms up over his head before getting out of bed and ready for the day. He takes a shower, brushes his teeth then gets dressed. He waters some of the plants that he has in his room before going to the kitchen to start on breakfast. He eats a light breakfast before preparing breakfast for his master and best friend Ryoken. His beloved master emerges from his room around 8am to get a cup of coffee and breakfast.

"Good morning sir." Specter greets Ryoken.

"Good morning. You know you don't have to get up so early." Ryoken replies with a smile.

"I know, but I enjoy getting to spend a little bit of time with my best friend as well as getting a headstart on chores." Specter says as he places a plate full of food in front of Ryoken.

Ryoken kind of blushes but he doesn't have the courage to tell Specter that he's more then just a friend to him.

"I hope you know that I appreciate everything you do around here."

"I'm more the happy to help."

Ryoken eats his breakfast while Specter starts on the day's household chores. He starts off his small list of chorse with his and Ryoken's laundry. Making sure that everything is washed, ironed and folded before it's put back into their rooms. After laundry he cleans the kitchen, making sure all the dishes are cleaned, dried and put away. Then he cleans the countertops and makes a shopping list.

"Is there anything I can help you with Specter?" Ryokan asks, wanting to be helpful since there's no one else to help out.

"I'm fine, I'm sure you have work on the network that could be done." Specter says giving Ryoken a small smile as he finishes making a shopping list.

"Well if you need help with anything let me know." Ryoken says and turns to go to his room to watch over Link Vrains.

Specter leaves the house once Ryoken has returned to his room to go food shopping. After putting away all the food when he gets home he finishes his chores by cleaning the floors and some of the windows. He has all his household chores done by 1pm and relaxes by writing in his diary.

I'm sure most people would hate doing household chores but for Ryoken I'll do anything. He's the master after all, and I couldn't ask for anyone better. He's kind and caring, allowing me to live with him without having to pay for any of the bills. I know that I don't have to do any of the chores, and I'm not being paid to do them. But Ryoken has done more for me then I could ever ask for. I owe it to him, and he never forces me to do anything I don't want to do. He's my light, my angel, in this dark and curl world.

While Specter is writing away in his diary, Ryoken is hard at work improving the algorithms that are being used to search for the Ignis.

"Might as well call it a day." Ryoken says to himself as he shuts down his screens and stretches his arms over his head. "I wonder if Specter has finish the chores yet."

Ryoken gets up out of his chair and leaves his room to see what Specter is up to. He finds him in the living room writing in his diary.

"I see that we've finished the chores." Ryoken says to get his attention.

Specter looks up at him, "Indeed, is there anything you would like me to get you sir?"

"No, but I hope you don't mind going out to take a walk with me."

"I'd be happy to accompany you."

Specter gets up to put his diary away in his room then comes back to put his shoes on to go out. Ryoken puts his shoes on as well which are sitting by the front door.

"Where are we going to?" Specter asks as he ties his shoes.

"Just out for some fresh air, there are some woods outside of the city that we can walk around in."

"Sounds like a plan."

Once there shoes are tied they leave the house and walk to the woods, all is peaceful and calm. Birds are chirping and the wind is blowing softly.

It's not to often that we get to relax." Ryoken says, walking along side Specter.

"Indeed. But the Ignis must be eradicated and I will make sure your wish will come to pass."

"We will eradicate the Ignis but for now, let's enjoy our free time while we still can."

"I do enjoy your company."

They continue to walk and talk about anything that comes to mind. Eventually they stumble upon an old shrine of some kind, it's old and covered in vines. It even has a tree growing into it.

"I don't remember any shrines being around here." Ryoken says.

"Let's check it out." Specter says a bit excited.

"Sure why not, what's the worse that could happen from taking a peek inside?"

They carelessly go into the abandoned shrine and look around. Strange demonic symbols cover the walls and floor along with strange wooden circular structures that hang down from the ceiling slowly rotting away.

"What is all this stuff?" Ryoken thinks out loud.

"I'm not sure, I've never seen anything like this before." Specter replies.

They look around a bit more, unaware that they're being watched. In the shadows a female figure watches them with great interest. As Ryoken and Specter explore the shrine more the air starts to feel heavier and the temperature drops significantly.

"Something about this place doesn't feel right Specter."

"We can go if this place is making you feel uncomfortable."

"Can we go please?"

"Of course sir."

Because of Ryoken's unease they leave the shrine, but Specter wishes to return but doesn't voice his desire to Ryoken. After they return home Specter makes dinner and they talk over their plans on what to do about the Ignis. After dinner they go to bed, come morning they eat breakfast then meet up with Baira, Faust and Genome on Link Vrains. Getting right to work on tracking down the Ignis. Ryoken and Specter acted like the leader and subordinate while on the network but acted more like brothers while they're off.

When Specter isn't doing chores around the house or working along side Ryoken on the network, he's at the abandoned shrine in the woods. He enjoys the quiet uneasy atmosphere as he writes in his diary about his beloved master. All the while the female figure in the shadows watches him. Specter explores the shrine far more each time he comes back when he has free time. The figure carefully leading him to her opal gem stone.

"What a beautiful stone." Specter says to himself as he picks up the rock, examining it in the dim light that's coming through the cracks of the roof.

Once he picked up the stone a high pitched giggle sounds from the shadows making Specter look around him.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" He calls out to the emptiness of the room he's in, but he gets no response. "I better get back to the mansion, Master Ryoken is probably wondering where I am?" He says to himself.

He puts the opal stone into his pocket and makes his way home. Unknowingly opening himself up to attack along with his dearly beloved Ryoken. At first things seemed normal after bringing the gem stone home, until slowly the creature that's attached to the stone attaches itself to Specter. He doesn't notice a thing and goes about his normal household and Hanoi duties. After about two weeks after bringing the stone home things take a darker turn, whispers and high pitched screams could be heard around the mansion. Freaking out both Ryoken and Specter to the point where Ryoken installs his own security system, disregarding his hatred for technology.

The cameras don't capture anything out of the ordinary, but the screaming and whispers still continue. At some point Ryoken thinks that he sees a young girl in the window on a rainy night but when he looks at the window he doesn't see anything. Specter catches glances of a girl in his bathroom mirror but when he turns back to look behind him no one is there, until he looks back at the mirror. There standing in the reflection of the mirror is a girl that appears to be no more then 15 years old. She has dark opal colored hair, bright yellow orange eyes and pale skin. She is wearing a black laced dress with dark blue stockings and black flat dress shoes. She also appeared to be wearing " fake" demon horns and a purple devil's tail.

Specter just thinks that he's tired and pays no mind to the reflection he sees in the mirror, though it does worry him a bit that he's seeing things. After the mysterious girl is seen in mirrors and windows things really start escalating. Ryoken starts finding scratches on his body that he can't find an explanation for, and Specter starts having nightmares.

They keep what is happening to themselves, not telling each other or the other Knights of Hanoi. On one cold rainy night Specter gets a nightmare that terrifies him to his very core. The nightmare is of the Lost Incident, but instead of there being six kids there are seven. An eight year old Ryoken is caught by his father trying to call the police to end the awful experiments that are being done. Specter can hear a loud deep booming voice that he didn't recognize at first until he hears Ryoken's terrified one.

"Just what do you think you're doing?!" Dr. Kogami yells at his son when he sees him holding up a phone to his ear.

Young Ryoken yelps in surprise and disconnects the call, "I'm not doing anything father."

"You were trying to call someone weren't you!" Dr. Kogami yells again making Ryoken flinch.

Ryoken stays silent and looks at the ground, but this only upsets his father more. Dr. Kogami grabs Ryoken by the arm and forces him to follow.

"Please father let me go! I promise I'll never do it again!" Ryoken cries.

"Misbehaving children need to he punished." Dr. Kogami replies to his son.

"Please someone anyone help me!" Ryoken cries, tears streaming down his cheeks.

"Ryoken?" Specter whispers to himself as he hears Ryoken cry out, seeming to not remember who he is.

Dr. Kogami opens the door to a room and throws his son in before closing and locking the door behind him. Ryoken falls to the floor almost landing on his face in front of a VR headset. Ryoken foolishly puts the headset on and begins to duel just like all the other kids in the experiment. He loses the duel and words appear in front of him along with a female computer voice saying "You Lose" before he gets shocked. He cries out in pain, but to Specter his cries of pain are much louder then anything around him.

"Master Ryoken!" Specter cries out remembering who Ryoken is.

Specter tries everything he can to get out of the room but he can't seem to find any door. He suddenly hears the female computer voice say "You Lose" before hearing Ryoken scream out in pain again.

"Please Specter save me!" Ryoken cries out, begging for Specter to save him.

"I'm trying Master Ryoken!" Specter calls out still trying to find a way out of the room he's in.

Each time Ryoken gets shocked his screams are louder then before and he begs for Specter to save him. But Specter can't do anything to relieve Ryoken of his pain, his screams are so agonizing to hear. It drives Specter nuts, he can feel a deep sense of despair settling in his chest for failing to get to his master. Suddenly the screaming stops and Specter is in a dark void all alone.

"Master Ryoken where are you?" Specter calls out into the darkness.

"It hurts, please make the pain go away." A voice responds, sounding just like the young Ryoken.

"I'm coming sir!" Specter calls and starts running.

The screaming starts up again along with the cries to be saved. Specter keeps running trying to get to the source of the screaming.

"Please Specter it hurts!" Ryoken cries sounding more like his adult self now.

Specter hasn't noticed that he too is no longer a child, he can only think about getting to his beloved master. As he seems to get closer to the source of the screaming, the cries of pain seem to be growing fainter and fainter. As if the victim is dying. Then the screams and cries stop all together as if the person has taken their final breath.

Specter stops running and looks around to see if there's anything he some how might of missed before calling out for his beloved Master. "Master Ryoken where are you?" He calls out, he doesn't get a response right away.

"Why Specter? Why didn't you come when I called for you?" Ryoken's voice rings out in the darkness. "I thought you were my loyal knight, I thought you loved me."

"I do love you sir!" Specter calls back almost yelling.

"Then why? Why did you let me be in pain Specter?" Ryoken's voice sounded hurt.

Specter looks around him again to see a figure in the darkness. "Master Ryoken!" He cries out in relief as he runs towards the figure but stops when he's able to see the figure clearly.

The figure standing before him is of his 18 year old master, but he's dressed in what looks to be just a long white sheet and barefoot. His hands and face are burned from trying to get the VR headset off, to stop the electricity from hurting him. What parts of his skin that are visible and not burned are a sickly pale white. But the most striking feature about him were his eyes. Instead of being the bright light crystal blue that they usually are, they're a dark blue almost black in color. Making his look cold and lifeless, even dead.

"Master Ryoken... are you, alright?" Specter asks, unsure if this man is really his master.

"Why... why did you leave me alone to die? I thought you cared about me." Ryoken says sadly.

"I do care about you sir." Specter says softly, feeling guilt mixing with the despair in his chest. The feeling makes him want to vomit.

"If you really cared about me then you would of never let this happen. I can't believe I ever called you my friend." Ryoken says in disgust and turns away, walking into the shadows of the void.

"No Master Ryoken wait!" Specter yells, reaching a hand out to Ryoken as tears spill over and run down his cheeks. But he never actually reaches the man in front of him. Once the figure of his beloved Ryoken is gone from his site, he falls to his knees wailing in anguish. He screams out, "I'M SORRY!" But Ryoken never comes back, the only thing he can hear is his own voice echoing in the darkness.

In the real world Specter bolts up right, nearly screaming in absolute fear but his voice gets stuck in his 's panting trying desperately to control his breathing, face and pillow are drenched in sweat. He looks around the room but nothing is out of place, slowly his breathing returns to normal. "It was just a nightmare." He tells himself and wraps the blanket around himself more before getting up and quietly leaving his room. He makes his way down the hall to Ryoken's room where he silently opens the door to his room. Ryoken is sound asleep in his bed, cuddled into his blanket to keep warm, while a shadow that he fails to see in the upper left of the room watches him. Specter lets out a silent sigh of relief and closes the door. Going back to his room, he didn't see the figure of a girl standing in the corner of Ryoken's room smiling evilly.

Night after night Specter relives the same nightmare over and over again. Slowly being worn down, slowly becoming more vulnerable with each passing day. He tries to hide is lack of sleep from Ryoken and the others but dark bags under his eyes start to form so he tries to stay out of Link Vrains. Ryoken starts to become concerned after Specter passes out from lack of sleep while they're in the living room. This is when Ryoken really gets a good look at him, his skin is paler then normal and he has dark bags under his eyes. It only takes a few minutes for Specter to come to but Ryoken looks at him with worry.

"Are you feeling alright Specter? You just passed out on me." Ryoken asks him, taking a seat beside him.

Specter turns his head away from him, the haunting image of Ryoken from his nightmare is what he sees. "I'm fine sir." He says.

"No you're not!" Ryoken cries, "You look like you haven't slept in days."

Specter stiffens when he hears his master cry out, making him think back to the nightmare that has plagued him for days. His sudden stiffness doesn't go unnoticed by Ryoken.

"Is something bothering you? You know you can tell me anything Specter." Ryoken says softly.

But Specter remains silent, to ashamed and scared to even look at the man who he calls his master. This only worried Ryoken more who tries to get him to talk.

"Specter please talk to me, I can't help you if you won't tell me what's wrong." Ryoken says gently putting a hand on Specter's shoulder.

Specter stiffens up even more at being touched by Ryoken, "I'd rather not talk about it." He says and gets up from the couch to go to his room.

As the days turn into weeks Specter really starts distancing himself from Ryoken and barely even talks to Genome, Clarissa and Faust. Ryoken keeps what's happening at home to himself not wanting to get the others involved. They both pour their thoughts and feelings into their diaries. For Specter it was about the nightmare and the ghost of Ryoken accusing him of not caring about him and letting him die alone and in pain, while for Ryoken his is about the strange things that were happening around the mansion along with how Specter is distancing himself from him and the others. The mysterious girl that's been hiding around in the mansions' shadows just giggles at the trouble it's causing.

Unknown to Specter, the gem stone he picked up and took home from the shrine has a demon attached to it. With his lack of sleep and guilt eating away at him he's vulnerable enough now to be possessed which the demon takes full advantage of. He closes his diary, done writing in it for today and lays down to try and get some sleep. This is when the she demon makes her move, silently slipping into Specter's body and caging up his subconscious. Specter doesn't feel a thing believing to be asleep, finally free of the nightmare that has plagued him for so long. But the real nightmare is just beginning.

The demon now in control of Specter's mind and body works slowly to gain Ryoken's trust, life seems to get back to normal after a few weeks and Ryoken does start to trust who he thinks is Specter. On one sunny afternoon Ryoken is sitting in what looks to be a large gaming chair, he turns his head to see Specter doing his chores and smiles a bit.

"One of these day's I'll rack up the courage to tell you how I really think of you." Ryoken thinks to himself as an image of Specter in a pristine white suit comes to his mind. The thought makes him blush a bit and he turns his head away.

Specter looks up from what he's doing to look at Ryoken who has his palm resting against the side of his face looking out the window. This make Specter smile but the is smile is off. It looks evil and malicious in nature and his eyes have seems to change in color. Instead of being bright blue in color they're a menacing yellow with just the smallest hint of orange in them.

"Specter, I'm going into Link Vrains for awhile, there's a few things I want to check out." Ryoken says without looking over at him.

"Would you like me to accompany you sir?" Specter asks, seeming to be back to normal.

"No, I shouldn't take long." Ryoken replies and sits back fully in his chair.

"I'll finish up the chores then." Specter replies.

"I appreciate you helping out."

"No need to thank me sir, I'm more then happy to help."

"Link into the Vrains." Ryoken calls out as a blue sphere forms around him as he closes his eyes.

Ryoken appears in the Hanoi base on the network as his second Link Vrains avatar Revolver. He makes a few screens appear around him and starts looking over things on the network. An hour passes, then two hours pass since Ryoken has gotten onto the network. Specter at first just watches him, his chest rises and falls in a steady rhythm. Ryoken looks like he's peacefully asleep as he sits in his chair. Seeing this that menacing smile from before comes back, and Specter goes and pulls the plug that's powering the high tech gaming chair then goes back to doing his chores as if nothing happened.

Almost instantly Ryoken cries out in pain and wakes up, since the connection was cut the system quickly does a forced long out. Specter pretends to be concerned and quickly goes to Ryoken's side.

"Master Ryoken what happened? Are you alright sir?" Specter asks in concern.

Ryoken groans and holds his head in pain, "I'm fine Specter, it must of been a power surge on the network."

"At least allow me to help you to your room sir."

"Fine."

Specter helps Ryoken out of his chair and to his room, sitting him down on the bed.

"Would you like me to get you anything sir?"

"No, but I appreciate you helping me to my room."

Ryoken lays down and tries to relax but the pain his head makes it hard to try and sleep.

"If you need anything just call me."

Ryoken nods and Specter leaves the room, with his back turned that same dark malicious smile could be seen on his face. But that pain was only the start of things to come, over the next month Ryoken is constantly sick and couldn't do his duty as the Leader of the Knights of Hanoi. And somewhere in that span of time the real Specter awakens to find himself locked away in a cage with thick metal chains around his wrists and ankles holding him in the middle of the cage. He looks out to see an empty dark void.

"What's going on, where am I?" Specter asks out into the void.

A giggle echoes in the darkness and shows him what he missed while he was asleep.

"No Master Ryoken!" Specter crises seeing Ryoken sick and bedridden.

Genome, Clarissa and Faust come over to see what's going on since Ryoken and Specter haven't been on the network in awhile. They find Ryoken sick and practically bedridden with Specter trying to take care of him.

"Oh Ryoken." Clarissa whispers, sadden to see the boy she cared for since he was eight years old laying in a bed looking almost dead.

"How did this happen?" Faust asks, not wanting to believe what he's seeing.

"This started about three weeks ago, I tried to convince him to go to the hospital but he didn't want to go." Specter says, but he's lying. He never asked Ryoken to go the hospital nor did he ever attempt to take him either.

But the others didn't know that this is a lie since Specter is the only one who's always with him.

"I'd say we take him to the hospital wether he likes it or not." Genome says.

The others agree, everyone piles into Faust's car being careful not to hurt Ryoken while moving him. He's so lethargic and tired that he doesn't even bother asking what's going on, once at the hospital they all go to the waiting room where Faust and Clarissa fill out the paperwork while they're waiting for Ryoken to be seen. When the nurses at the front desk take one look at Ryoken after the paperwork is given back they can tell that he's in dire need of medical attention and take him back.

Ryoken is mostly unresponsive but the nurses are able to get him awake and ask for him to tell them what happened. He's unable to tell them what happened because of how sick he is. When the doctor comes in he has little to go by so he runs multiple tests to see what could be causing a young 18 year old to be so sick. When the test results come back no one could believe that Ryoken is even alive at all, the tests came back positive for Arsenic but luckily it was caught early enough to be treated. All of the others are questioned but the doctor can't find a reason for nor a way that any one of them could have poisoned Ryoken.

For now Ryoken stays in the hospital under strict supervision, Specter and the others stay as long as they can until they have to leave. Everyone stays at the Kogami mansion for the night, planing to go back to the hospital to see Ryoken tomorrow. Faust, Clarissa and Genome don't want to say it but they're all thinking the same thing. Specter somehow poisoned Ryoken, but it doesn't make sense to them as to why. They all know Specter well enough to know that he's obsessed with being Ryoken's servant. Doing anything and everything that Ryoken asks of him.

"There's no way Specter would do something like this." Clarissa whispers.

"He has to be, there's no one else that's close to him besides us." Faust says.

"And it can't be us since we don't live with him but Specter does." Genome chimes in.

Specter is in his room while the others are in the living room talking.

Specter, or rather the demon giggles. "I wonder what I should do to him next. Maybe strangling him in his sleep? Or maybe I could drown him in the ocean that's close by."

"Please stop. Leave him alone and take me. He doesn't deserve to suffer like this." Specter cries, feeling despair and hopeless.

Back with Faust and the others, they talk about confronting Specter but they worry about being his next target.

"Then one of us needs to tail him, maybe then we can figure out why he did this." Genome says.

"Who's going to tail him first?" Asks Faust.

"I'd rather watch over Ryoken." Clarissa says feeling uneasy about being anywhere near Specter.

"Then I'll be the one to tail him." Genome says and gets up to go to Specter's room.

"Be careful." Faust says.

"I'll do my best." Genome says and makes his way quietly to Specter's room.

As he gets closer to Specter's room he can hear laughter but it doesn't sound like Specter's laugh.

The demon possessing Specter laughs, "Oh my dear Specter no matter what you do, you and your beloved little master's souls will be damned. His life is as good as over." The demon makes Specter's body move to a book shelf that's in the room, taking a brown book off the shelf and opening it to reveal a hidden compartment that's holding a rather large pocket knife.

"Take my soul and leave him be, I won't be missed." Specter pleads, he doesn't know that Genome is watching and even if he did Genome would be unable to hear his cries for help.

"That's where you're wrong little human. The other members of your little group will miss you. I wonder what I should do with them, maybe I'll let them rot in jail. You're organization, or rather your master's organization is seen as a cyber terrorist group isn't it?"

Genome notices the change in Specter's voice, it sounds high pitched and a bit feminine along with the change in his eye color.

"This can't be right, that can't be Specter. But... If that's not Specter, then who is it?" Genome whispers quietly.

"You humans are so predictable and easy to manipulate, I led you to my precious little opal gem knowing that you would take it. I thought you were going to give it to your master whom you love so much." The demon says taking out the opal gem from Specter's pocket and looking at it in the light. "You know it's quite pathetic that you can't admit your love for him. But then again, who could love a servant? They're only useful for a little while and when you've out lived your usefulness you're suppose to be tossed aside with the rest of the trash."

"Master Ryoken doesn't see me as just a servant and he certainly doesn't see me as a piece of trash." Specter says angrily.

"Oh it sounds like I struck a nerve." The demon says gleefully.

"You're a coward, you won't even tell me your name." Specter challenges.

"Me, a coward? Do you have any idea who you're talking to human?" The demon's voice seems to darken, "But fine, I guess you should know who's going to be condemning you and your master's souls. My name is Opal, it's such a shame that you won't be able to tell anyone." Opal's voice went back to being high pitched and happy.

"Where there's a will there's a way, I will find a way to tell Ryoken that you're the one doing all this."

"Then I'll make sure to keep you on a short and tight leash."

Genome has seen enough and goes back to the living room where Clarissa and Faust are. He sits beside Faust and is silent, thinking over what he just saw and heard.

"Everything okay Genome?" Clarissa asks seeing how quiet he is.

"No Clarissa, we have a serious problem. I don't want to believe it but after what I saw there's no other explanation for it. Specter is possessed by a demon." Genome says a bit disturbed.

"Come now Genome that's nonsense." Faust says crossing his arms clearly not believing him.

"Then explain to me how his eyes go from blue to yellow orange?" Genome says with a bit of spite in his voice. "But the Specter we know is still in there, I know he is."

"I'm with Faust on this one. There's no scientific evidence to support the existence of angels and demons." Clarissa says.

"I know and I don't want to believe that but from what I saw says otherwise." Genome says now a bit worried, "Think about it, what reason would Specter really have to hurt Ryoken let alone poison the boy? Unless the person in front of us really isn't Specter."

Faust and Clarissa still look at Genome with skepticism but he continues to insist that Specter is possessed and even offers to prove it by having them watch Specter while he's in his room.

"Fine, let's see this so call demon." Clarissa sighs.

They all get up and silently make there way to Specter's room as they're doing this Opal brakes down Specter more to the point where he refuses to talk, he tries to hold back his emotions as best as he can. Trying to not believe in Opal's words.

"Do you really think your precious Master Ryoken loves you? I'm sure he's just using you for free labor. But who can blame him, he's young and rich if he's living in a place like this. And you, you're just an orphan who got lucky. Everyone knows that orphans are the lowest of the low beside those that are poor." Opal says with a sly grin.

Specter doesn't answer her, not wanting to play into her game but her words hurt him greatly. He doubts that Ryoken could actually love him but he doesn't think or feel like he's being used by him.

Genome and the others hear the taunts before they peek through the door that's slightly cracked open. They see who appears to be Specter setting up what looks like traps, upon seeing Specter's eyes and hearing his voice Faust and Clarissa can't deny that something is wrong with him.

"I see that we have nothing to say, that's because my words ring true and you just don't want to believe them." Opal taunts and creates an hellish environment within the cage that Specter's trapped in to tournament him.

The cage forces Specter to face his greatest fears like Ryoken and the others leaving him and being disgusted at ever being his friend and being unable to protect the ones he loves and watching them wither in pain slowly only to die in the end. Specter screams and cries out at the nightmare he's forced to face.

"No please come back! RYOKEN!" Specter screams and tries reaching for him.

"I'm ashame that I ever considered you my friend." Ryoken says then turns and walks away, never looking back.

Opal just laughs and continues to work on gathering supplies to kill Ryoken while Specter wails in agonizing anguish.

Genome and the others have no idea what pain Specter is suffering but if they know they would do everything in their power to reassure him that he's not alone. While Ryoken is recovering in the hospital he can't help but think that something is wrong, that Specter is in some kind of trouble and needs help. He tries to push his worry aside but the more he tries to push the feeling away the stronger it becomes.

"I wonder what he's thinking about right now." Ryoken thinks to himself as he looks out the window.

Genome, Faust and Clarissa continue to watch Opal use Specter's body to gather supplies and put them in a jet black backpack. The last thing to go into the backpack is the large pocket knife making the three look at each other in fear, they quickly and quietly make their way back to the living room before they're discovered.

"Alright you win Genome, Specter is definitely possessed." Clarissa whispers shivering.

"The problem now is how do we free him and keep Ryoken from getting killed?" Faust asks worried for Ryoken's safety.

Genome stops to think about this, "I think an old grade school friend of mine can help us. I think he or someone he knows can get in contact with a priest in the Level-Link-Rank religion. I'm just going to need a little bit of time to get ahold of them."

"Well do it as soon as you can, we don't have much time before that thing is going to make Specter kill Ryoken." Faust says.

"If you guys need me I'll be at my place." Genomes says getting up from the couch and leaving the mansion.

Clarissa and Faust nod and see Genome out, but for the rest of the night they stay awake and in the living room. To terrified to sleep, fearing that Opal might murderer them in their sleep. When Genome gets home he gives a call to his old grade school friend Michael, unfortunately he doesn't answer so he leaves a message. The only thing he can do now is wait, two days later he gets a call back from Michael and explains the situation.

"I didn't think a scientist like you would believe in demons." Michael says with a small smile.

"I don't, but it's the only thing that I can come up with that can explain why my friend is acting off." Genome replies.

"I'll make some calls and get back to you as soon as I can."

"Thank you, I'm concerned for a friend of mines son. Unfortunately they passed away some time ago and he asked me and a few others to watch over his 18 year old son."

"I'm sorry for your loss but I promise I'll do what I can so friend can get the help he needs."

"It's much appreciated."

The call ends and Genome leaves to go back to the Kogami mansion where he meats up with Faust and Clarissa.

"Where's Specter?" He asks a bit concerned.

"He went out. Where, we didn't want to follow." Faust says equally concerned.

After two more days Genome gets the call he and the others have been waiting for, Michael has come through for them and is coming over with a priest that's been granted permission to do an exorcism. The mention of an opal gem stone caught the attention of someone enough to get them to come out.

"When are they coming?" Clarissa whispers with a bit of hope in her voice.

"A week from now." Genome whispers back.

"Hopefully this works and we can all put this nightmare behind us." Faust chimes in, Clarissa and Genome nod in agreement to his statement.

A week passes by so slowly, they're all careful on their words and actions when Specters' around. The priest scheduled to come over the same day Ryoken due to be released from the hospital. When the fated day comes Clarissa goes to the hospital alone to pick Ryoken up, filling him in on the car ride home.

"How are you feeling?" Clarissa asks softly as she helps Ryoken into the car.

"Better then I was before, though I still feel a bit weak." Ryoken replies.

"I'm glad that you're feeling better, we were all worried about you." She says as she gets into the car and starts up the engine.

"How is Specter, is he alright?" Ryoken asks, concern in his voice.

Clarissa pulls out of the hospital drive way with a sigh, "Ryoken I need you to believe me on what I'm about to say." She says softly.

"He's not hurt is he?" Fear creeps into Ryoken's voice.

"Me and the others think... well know that he's possessed by a demon. Genome called a friend of his that was able to get a priest to come. He should be there by the time we get back."

"You guys can't be serious on this." He asks not believing that his best friend and crush is possessed.

"We all know what we saw and heard Ryoken, Specter isn't himself. Hopefully after the exorcism he'll be back to his old self."

Based on the way Clarissa was talking made Ryoken believe her on what she is saying.

"Hopefully we'll be able to get to him in time." Ryoken says sounding depressed.

The rest of the car ride home is silent, as they pull up to the Kogami mansion the priest is waiting for them. The man before Ryoken is quite old but his eyes hold wisdom and kindness. He's dressed in all black with a white collar.

"You must be Ryoken Kogami." The priest says with a soft smile.

"I am and I appreciate you trying to help my friend." Ryoken says shaking the priest's hand.

"My name is Father Taylor White, and I promise I will get your friend back. I've been searching for this demon for quite some time. The opal gem is how it gets its prey."

"Then please come in."

Everyone comes in, Michael is already inside catching up with Genome and is getting along well with Faust.

"I can't believe how long it's been, you should call more often." Michael says.

"Work keeps me busy." Genome replies but is happy to be catching up with an old friend, but he keeps his mouth shut about being a Knight of Hanoi.

"Gentlemen." Father Taylor says to get their attention.

The three men stop talking and look over to him.

"Go and get the possessed," Father Taylor tells them. "And be careful. You three will need to hold him down to the best of your ability.

They all nod. Faust goes to get Specter while Genome and Michael hide, ready to grab him.

Faust knocks on the door to Specter's room, "Hey Specter, Ryoken is finally home from the hospital." He calls.

"I'll be out in a minute to see him." Opal calls using Specter's voice as she puts her opal gem into Specter's coat pocket.

After a few minutes Specter emerges from his room and follows Faust to the living room where he's grabbed and pinned to the floor by Genome and Michael.

"Hey what's going on here?" Specter asks as he's pinned down.

"It's been quite awhile, Opal."

Specter seems to stiffen when Father Taylor speaks, then erupts into a violent rage. Screaming and cursing in perfect Latin. His eyes change from blue to yellow orange and his voice takes on a high pitch female like voice.

"This human is mine!" Opal screams in Latin.

Genome, Michael and Faust are holding onto Specter tightly to keep him away from Father Taylor.

"Let's begin with the exorcism." He says and takes out a book from his black robe along with a bottle of holy water. "Our heavenly mother, Holactie the Creator of Light. Please protect us in battle against the devil Zorc and his minions. In the name of the heavenly mother, the holy spirits and holy angel. I command the demon Opal to leave this body." Father Taylor commands as sprinkles holy water onto Specter.

Specter hisses and growls demonically scaring Ryoken who's never been exposed to anything like this before.

"I command the demon Opal to leave this body in the name of the heavenly mother, the holy spirits and holy angel." Father Taylor commands sprinkling holy water on him, he makes his voice assertive and confident. Showing that he's in command and his authority is absolute.

"Never! This body and soul are mine!" A demonic voice screams out in English.

"Specter you have to fight it, you need to want to be free! We're all here for you, you're not alone!" Ryoken cries out hoping to reach Specter within.

"Master Ryoken?" Specter whispers, hearing Ryoken's voice.

"Fight it Specter, don't believe what that thing is telling you!" Clarissa shouts.

"You're our friend, our brother. We'll never leave you behind!" Genome yells.

"No matter what happens we have you're back Specter, we'll never leave a family member behind!" Faust shouts.

Father Taylor continues his prays while Ryoken and the others keep encouraging Specter to fight to be free. Hearing their voices and seeing their faces, especially Ryoken's, gives Specter the confidence to fight back.

"This is for Master Ryoken!" Specter cries out using all his will power to push Opal out of his body.

For a moment Specter regains control of his body, those that are holding him let go of him until Opal pushes Specter back down. But Specter pushes back.

"I won't let you use me and hurt the people I love!" Specter yells fighting with everything he's got.

"I know you can do it Specter!" Ryoken yells, encouraging him to keep fighting.

Specter's in severe pain but he keeps fighting for Ryoken. All the fighting has caused the opal gem stone to fall out of Specter's pocket which Father Taylor picks up.

"In the name of the heavenly mother you will go back to where you came from and leave this body!" Father Taylor yells.

The gem stone glows and black smoke starts to be pulled from Specter's body, being forced into the stone.

"No I won't be locked away again!" Opal yells and tries to keep control over Specter's body.

"You won't hurt Master Ryoken again!" Specter yells pushing Opal out of his body for good.

Opal screams as she's forced out of Specter's body and into the gem stone. Once the stone stops glowing the exorcism is completed and Specter is finally free, but he passes out from lack of care that his body received from the demon. Ryoken rushes to Specter's side and catches him before he falls.

"Is he?" Ryoken turns to look at Father Taylor who's putting the gem stone into a small black box.

"The exorcism is complete and he's free from the demon's control. I want each of you to take these amulets, they'll protect you from the evil that lurks within this world." Father Taylor says and gives each of them an amulet.

Ryoken takes one for himself and one to give to Specter when he wakes up.

"Give him some time to rest, he'll need it after what's happened today." Father Taylor says.

"I want leave his side." Ryoken says holding Specter tightly in his arms.

"He's lucky to have such supportive friends, not many people do." Father Taylor says then turns to Michael, "Come Michael, our work here is done."

"Yes Father Taylor." Michael says and bids them good bye, leaving with Father Taylor.

Specter is moved to the couch where Ryoken stays by his side instead of resting like he's suppose to. Faust and the others also stay by Ryoken and Specter sides in case either one needs anything. Ryoken ends up falling asleep on Specter, holding him as best as he can from his place on the floor. Clarissa smiles softly at the site and covers Ryoken with a blanket. Hours later soft groans can be heard as Specter wakes up.

"Don't move and keep your voice down." Clarissa whispers not wanting to wake Ryoken.

"What happened, is Ryoken okay?" Specter asks terrified that something happened to him, until he feels a weight on his chest and looks down to see Ryoken asleep on him. Seeing him asleep he breathes a sigh of relief.

"He hasn't left your side since you passed out." Faust whispers, sitting on the couch across from where Specter is laying.

"I'm sorry, for everything."

"Don't be, what happened wasn't your fault." Genome whispers, "You weren't in control."

"But still, I almost killed Master Ryoken." Specter says looking at Ryoken with sadness and brushes the back of his hand against his if cheek.

The soft touch wakes Ryoken but he keeps his eyes closed to listen in on the conversation.

"Ryoken won't hold anything against you, he knows you weren't yourself." Clarissa says trying to reassure him.

"Besides I've known you long enough to know that you would never try to kill me." Ryoken says opening his eyes and sitting up. "Just promise me that you'll stay out of abandoned places."

"Of course sir. I would never purposely put you and the others in danger." Specter replies as he sits up.

"Are you two going to be alright on your own? Clarissa asks a bit worried.

"We can stay if you guys need us to." Faust says wanting to make sure they're both okay.

"We'll be fine, and we appreciate you guys wanting to help." Ryoken says trying to ease their worries.

"You'll call us if anything happens right?" Genome says with a small smile.

"Of course." Ryoken replies softly.

After about an hour of Specter waking up the others leave, going back to their homes. Ryoken gets up from his place on the floor and sits beside Specter, they're completely alone now.

"I'm really sorry sir, I didn't mean for any of this to happen." Specter says softly, not looking at his master.

"Don't be, none of this was your fault." Ryoken replies, mentally debating wether or not to tell him how he really feels about him.

"But I brought that thing home. I put you in danger, you nearly died."

"But I'm still here aren't I?" Ryoken smiles.

"That's only because Faust and the others noticed something off."

Ryoken sighs, "I guess I'm going to have to show him what he really means to me." He thinks to himself and gently gets up and sits on Specter's lap, facing him.

"Sir?" Specter questions not sure what Ryoken is doing.

"You mean so much more to me then a friend Specter, and knowing that I could of lost you today terrified me greatly. I don't want to lose the one person I love more then anything in this world." Ryoken says softly, he doesn't give Specter time to respond. Stealing his lips in a kiss.

Specter is surprised by Ryoken's words, but becomes frozen in place by the kiss. His mind short circuits but when he finally understands what's going on his cheeks turn bright red. Ryoken pulls away and looks to see Specter's reaction, giggling a bit at how red his cheeks are.

"I've always wanted to tell you how much you mean to me but couldn't find the right time to do so." Ryoken says.

Specter snaps back to his senses, "I'd be more then happy to stay by your side, you're my angel and I've loved you since the day we met." He wraps his arms around Ryoken and gently pulls him to his chest.

Ryoken lays against him, cuddling into his chest. "Will you stay with me forever?"

"Of course sir, there's no one I'd rather be with more."

Ryoken yawns, still recovering from being poisoned.

"Rest my love, I'll be here when you wake up." Specter whispers into his ear.

Ryoken relaxes against him and drifts off to sleep, his soft breaths being the only thing that Specter hears.

"I promise to be with you forever, my sweet angel." Specter whispers into Ryoken's ear then kisses him softly on the forehead.

Just an fiy people, the religion in this story is completely made up so don't get on my case about it. I didn't want to use a real religion because I don't really know how any of them work since I don't belong to any. So yeah... Comment and follow if you like the oneshot.
