After breakfast
ARTEMIS POV
"Everyone I have an announcement. We will be soon leaving to camp half-blood and I want you all to decide on how we get there."I said
"Who votes that I get Apollo to drive us there." The very young hunters along with Annabeth and Nico raised their hands.
"Who votes that we travel on foot." The rest of the hunters along with Percy, Thalia, Bianca, and Grover raised their hands.
"Then it's settled, the trip will be 4-8 days long. You are dismissed to pack. We will leave at noon."
THIRD POV
There were still quite a few hours until they had to leave. Percy's muscle pain was tolerable but he decided to go for a walk in hopes to stretch out his legs.
He never got the chance to explore the camp since he was unconscious for the majority of his stay. The hunters were very organized in their setup. He was able to deduce which tents belonged to hunters and which were for public use such as the armory.
However, as he continued to walk he found a tent that looked quite different from the others. He knew he shouldn't have but curiosity got the best of him and before he knew it he was opening the flap.
And well shit...he really was an idiot.
He just walked into a literal wolf's den.
There were about 20 wolves. Some were sleeping while others were chewing on a bone or nipping at each other.
They were huge. Probably bigger than the now-extinct direwoles which were said to be over 2 feet tall and weighed an average of 110 pounds. (Whispers, "thank you Annabeth"). The one on the far right caught his eye. Its coat was jet black and its green eyes stared into him. This one was far bigger than the others but it made no move. It just kept staring at him
Percy tried to slowly back away as they had not seemed to have noticed him yet. Just as he was about to exit through the flap he stepped on a twig. The demigod cursed under his breath.
The wolves turned their heads instantly. Upon seeing Percy they bared their teeth and let out a low growl while others stood up and began inching their way toward him.
As one of them was about to pounce someone yelled out, "αλτ (halt)!" The wolves immediately stopped and turned back to their original positions.
"What are you doing here boy. Do you have a death wish?" the speaker let her presence be known.
The son of the sea god recognized her. She was their lieutenant, Zoe. "Umm no I- I was just curious. So I took a peak."
"Ever heard the saying 'curiosity killed the cat'. If you had mistakenly walked into M'Lady's tent you would have been a dead man. Don't let me catch you snooping again. Go pack!" She snarled.
Frightened of being dismembered, Percy didn't risk responding with a retort and headed off to do what he was told. However, Zoe caught him glancing back at the tent before he left.
2 days later...
ZOE POV
We have walked for hours and I couldn't take any more of it.
How in the world can someone be so annoying.
"How many attack points does Lady Artemis have? I heard she's the best archer. Is it true she older than Apollo? How many attack points do you have? Check out my collectibles." The black-haired kid said
"I'm gonna kill him," Thalia said
"I might just let you" Annabeth replied.
"Now you know what I've been going through." Bianca pointed out.
"Kid what are you even talking about," Percy whined.
"My trading cards" he beamed excitingly as someone finally decided to acknowledge him. "I have a collection of all the greek gods and goddesses."
"I didn't even know they make those," he mumbled.
"They do! But they're extremely rare and expensive to collect."
"You might want to keep those away from the Stoll brothers when we get to camp."
"I have 35 in total. I have Zeus, Aphrodite, Apollo..."
"Uh-huh," Percy agreed not really listening anymore.
"So I only have 9 out of the 16 Olympians."
"That's nice- Wait did you say 16?"
Zoe spotted her moon goddess who was walking ahead slightly angle her head at their conversation.
"Yeah 16"
"Where did you get 16? There are only 12." He said before turning to the daughter of Athena, "Right?" She rolled her and nodded. "There are only 12!" he said again with more confidence.
"Well back when my sister and I were in Vegas- or I think it was Vegas," he mumbled while rubbing his chin then gave up. "Well I don't know, my sister tells me I have a bad sense of direction. Anyways there was an auction being held for recently discovered artifacts that dated back to ancient Greece. One of them happened to be a scripture suggesting that there were actually 16 Olympians."
"That's ridiculous!" Annabeth commented.
"No one wanted it so it ended up being donated to some small museum. I think it was called The Mercurius Museum"
"Good thing too. It was probably a scam." the blonde jibed.
"Who are the other 4 Olympians them?" Percy asked. I saw Lady Artemis stiffen.
"Hestia and Hades. I want his card the most. He's so cool." Then Nico furrowed his brows, "and..."
The young demigod paused for another minute then began scratching his head in frustration, "I can't remember." Then he turned to his sister, "Do you?"
"Sorry Nico, I remember that day vaguely," she responded.
From then Nico was lost in his own world mumbling to himself, "Maybe there were only 14 then. No, I'm sure there were 16."
***next day***
The campers and new demigods were walking alongside Percy laughing at a comment he made earlier. Meanwhile, the hunters were ignoring them but once and a while I would catch one of the older ones glance at them.
Suddenly I got a strange feeling and I saw lady Artemis had it too. Then we heard something behind the bushed and we all stopped slowly raising our weapons.
A whole group of monsters came out and attacked us. There was a chimera, 3 empousae, a cyclops, and 6 hellhounds. The hellhound along with the chimera went straight for the hunters. We all shot arrows and managed to kill 3 hellhounds. As they took care of the hellhounds and the chimera I advanced on the empousae. I tried at one of them with an arrow but she was too fast and dodged. I looked up and saw a loose tree branch above them that looked like it was big enough to cause some serious damage. I loaded my bow and shot the arrow making the tree branch fall on top of the empousa causing her to turn to dust. But while I was distracted fighting the one empousae the other two attacked. The tall one with black hair caught me off guard and struck me across the face while the shorter redhead knocked my bow out of my grasp leaving me weaponless. The blacked haired empousa kept on striking me till I was on the ground. She took out a small knife and was about to lunge at me when she was suddenly sent flying a few feet back into a tree. She was just about to stand up when a knife pierced through her head making her turn to dust. I turned around and saw Percy in a throwing position.
"You ok?" Percy asked as he held out his hand. I hesitantly took his hand and got up. "Thanks," I said.
"Your welcome. But don't thank me yet." He said while using one of my arrows to slice through the last hellhound. The rest of the fight went pretty fast and the only monsters that were left behind were an empousa and the cyclops.
"AAAHHHHAHHAH!" Let me say that again. The only monster left was an empousa.
Everyone watched as Percy was pushed up against the tree with riptide in his hand still in its pen form. The empousa roughly held his shoulders as she seductively looked at him. "C'mon perrcccyy... Relaxxx" she hissed as she leaned closer. I could have sworn that I saw Artemis glare. "Rellaxxx" I heard the empousa say again and this time it was Percy who leaned closer. Oh no, he playing right into her hands I have to stop her.
Just as I was about to make a move he pulled back with a smirk on his face and says " Sorry... But you're not my type" and while she's still shaken up by the fact that he can resist her charm he slowly raises riptide points it to her stomach and uncapped it. The sword sliced through flesh leaving only dust in her place.
