I DO NOT OWN THE CROWN.
Kensington Palace. Later That day.
While Scotland Yard was taking accounts about what had happened, Diana rang up everyone's parents and explained to them the goings on. After the realization that this was not a prank call kicked in, the parents raced to Kensington Palace to retrieve their children. After they had sampled some of the delectable desserts that had been promised to them, Lennox said his goodbyes to the other members of his party before his mother showed up to retrieve him and Colin.
"Boys, I was so worried about you!" Mrs. Poole said in tears as she embraced both of her sons.
"We we're on an adventure mother." Colin insisted as Anna looked upon her son with worry, fearful that he was having yet another schizophrenic episode. As the Pooles were preparing to leave, the princess of Wales approached them.
"Your highness!" Lennox's mother exclaimed as she did a quick curtsy.
"I'm terribly sorry, but do you think I could say goodbye to Lennox?" She asked.
"Of course, we'll be in the car." Mrs. Poole replied as she quickly took Colin out. Once they had gone, Diana gave Lennox a small smile.
"I am so very proud of you, my champion." She said as she caressed the boy's cheek as Lennox tried not to tear up, but failed miserably.
"Will I ever see you again?" He asked as Diana gave him a sad smile.
"What does your heart say?" She asked in return.
"Yes, someday?" He offered, though not really believing it.
"Then we shall see each other again." Diana assured the boy as she brought him in for a tight embrace.
"Goodbye Diana." The Paladin whispered as she kissed his forehead and looked into his eyes.
"Don't forget me…promise you won't." She said with tears eyes to match Lennox's.
"Never." He vowed. They embraced for a minute more before they broke. When Lennox got his his mother's car, he kept his eyes on Diana until she faded from sight. Lennox and Diana would meet once more, but that is another story. I know this because I am Rupert Richards, the bard. I was there and I saw it.
