Hope on Jabberwock Island
It's been a month since we took the blame for the Future Foundation Mutual Killing Game. Since then, we've been living here on Jabberwock Island. Outside the Future Foundation we're the biggest threat in the world, but to them, we're they're saviors and the only reason they're still a foundation today. That doesn't mean we get to go anywhere we want, we're still forced to live here on the island, but that's not by the Foundations ruling, it's by our own choice as a class. We have no connection to the outside world, we cannot see our families or friends...most of them are probably dead in the first place...but that's fine because we have each other. We are a family, and this is the story of that family after the events of the biggest, most awful, most tragic event in human history.

I was implanted with every known Talent when I was in High School, so I can do just about anything everyone else on the Island can do, because of this my work is distributed around the island evenly and I'm the one who figures out where each person can use their talent to best help the island. I guess I should show you around, to start with...let's go to the kitchen. Teruteru is usually working in the kitchen as he's the Ultimate Chef, his real title is the Ultimate Cook but we use Chef because he likes it better. He makes us dinners that keep us vitalized and happy, the person who usually helps him in the Kitchen is Mikan The Ultimate Nurse who makes sure that there's nutrition in every dish.
"Hey, how is today's evening meal coming along?" Hinata stepped into the kitchen as he spoke, suddenly being greeted with the bosom of the busty Ultimate Nurse hurtling toward his face. Acting on instinct from the large mounds approaching him, his hands would quickly and effortlessly move up to catch the red-faced clutz by her shoulders, stopping her from colliding with him. "W-Waaaah! I'm s-sorry, Hinata!" Mikan had her hands tied behind her back by the ribbons of the apron she was wearing, the makeshift restraints causing the apron to pull and form against her body accentuating her rather voluptuous form. However, Hinata was used to Mikan's clumsiness at this point and was always prepared to counter it. "It's alright, what's-" His eyes would move to gaze over her shoulder, finding a half-naked Teruteru face-down on the floor with a tall girl in a Kimono stomping on him, her slender leg slipping between the fold in the lower half of her Kimono. "You fucking pig, where do you get off trying to jump Mikan like that, huh?!"

Teruteru has a...habit of getting carried away when it comes to being around Mikan...she's knowingly klutzy and this leads her into very promiscuous situations which leads him to be as perverted as he can be. So I assigned Hiyoko to keep him in line, though this also leads to Mikan being regularly verbally abused, though it's not as harsh as in the Neo World Program, old habits die hard with the kind of person Hiyoko is.

Let's see, I guess we can move on to the Hangars, they're on the same part of the island that the Neo World Program VR building is. The Hangar is a rather recent addition, Kazuichi is the one who built the tools that helped us put the hangar up, and it's also where he spends most of his time. He's built so many different things in so little time and he's even working on this special project he's codenamed 'Project XE-541' something about a mech that you can pilot like in anime. He also makes tools and such that we need around the Island, usually accompanying him is Sonia Nevermind, our foreign Princess who is very knowledgeable about many different countries and cultures.

Sonia is usually rather fascinated by Kazuichi's inventions, especially those that he makes with the help of Gundham, the Ultimate Animal Breeder. Though Kazuichi and Gundham don't usually get along with each other, Kazuichi has wanted to make special animal bots for us around the island similar to the Monobeasts from the simulation, and with Sonia as a mediator between them using Kazuichi's mechanical skills and Gundham's knowledge of animals they were able to collaborate and make many different ridable animal bots. Gundham is actually helping Kazuichi on his secret project with the motivation of Sonia backing them up.

Guess we can go to the gym next. Since we needed someplace to keep our bodies fit at the insistence of Nekomaru, we built a small gym and had gym equipment crafted by Kazuichi's Machines. Here at the gym we usually keep ourselves busy with physical training to keep us strong, it's also where Nekomaru and Akane hang out most of the time. Akane is constantly working herself on the gymnastic equipment and has even gotten into training at the boxing punching bag with Nekomaru, who is always in one of three places, the bathroom, spotting someone, or in his built-in office. He'll often call someone in to go over their physical health and giving them a workout regimen to keep them in shape. Akane spends the most time in the Office with Nekomaru, we thought it was because of all the things Nekomaru wants Akane to achieve but there have been rumors. Rumors that Mahiru witnesses strange sounds coming from the office at times. This could just be Nekomaru giving Akane a massage...but there's no massage table in his office.

Though she doesn't work out much, Mahiru has been spending a lot of time at the Gym as well. When I asked her what she was up to she said she was creating an exercise calendar out of pictures of everyone exercising. She only needs one more picture apparently, I wonder who she hasn't taken a picture of yet... Anyway, I guess next is the apartment complex which is the second floor of the building that the kitchen and mess hall are in. We each have our own rooms specially built around us, it's the only place where we all group together to hang out. Mostly everyone else hangs out here, which includes Fuyuhiko and his bodyguard Peko.

They are usually going over the numbers for resources we have left or have gained. As long as everyone is working we never really lose much of anything so we are able to supply for ourselves endlessly. If we do run out of anything, the Future Foundation is sure to cover it anyway. There are three people who work in the entertainment process for us usually keeping in the lounge or their rooms, making music and movies for us to enjoy since we don't have access to such things. Ibuki and Ryota collaborate to create animated films with beautiful music and moving animation. However, sometimes they like to make live-action films as well, which is where Impo, our previously nameless Ultimate Imposter comes in to use his skills to play as different characters and the voice actor for the animated movie characters.

Lastly, the man who adventures around the island finding more places for us to expand or happening upon mineral veins, Nagito. The resident explorer with no fear of death due to his crazy amount of luck, though, unlike mine or Naegi's luck, his seems to sap luck from people who surround him. When lucky things happen to him, unlucky things tend to happen to people around him. It keeps him humble a lot of the time but he trusts in his luck more than anything.

Ultimately, we're all needed to run this island, but that doesn't mean we don't have time to be together and enjoy each other. Every day we come together for different meals and activities to keep our bonds strong, it's only the 15 of us here so the island is like a country in comparison. Our own little country when we can just be with each other and just live without the outside world interfering with our own little paradise island.
"Phew, I'm tired...but it looks like everyone is enjoying their lives here..." Hinata had flopped onto his bed, his right arm resting on his forehead to overshadow his eyes. Staring up at the ceiling his arm moved up off his forehead to his chest where a pin had been skewered through his dress shirt. Taking it off he would bring it up to his view, staring at the pixel galaxy fighter hair accessory he fashioned into a pin. "I just wish...you were here with us to enjoy it," his expression turned solemn and his grip on the pin tightened as he tried to push back the tears.
Sitting up he would wipe his eyes with his arm before replacing the pin to the left side of his chest. "Now then, I suppose it's around that time isn't it?" Talking to himself with a glum smile he would get onto his feet and make his way out the door and down to the rec center on the apartment floor. Entering the room he could see that a few people were already there playing games, chatting, and eating snacks. "Hm? Ah, Hinata, here right on time as usual. Besides the regular suspects, everyone else is already here," Fuyuhiko greeted the Ultimate Hope with a friendly smile, something that had not been possible back in the Neo World Program. We've all become a family of sorts, which includes putting our past differences aside and enjoying our days here in solitary from the world.
"Ah, so I'm guessing you mean Soda, Sonia, and Tanaka aren't here yet. They've been working hard on that project of theirs for months, I wonder when it'll finally be finished," the Yakuza leader nodded in response before pointing into the room. "Yeah, Teruteru isn't here yet either, seems he was behind with washing the dishes today," after conversing for a small while the two split ways, Fuyuhiko making his way to Peko's side, placing a hand on hers with a small dusted flush across their smiling faces. The sight could only make Hinata smile, remembering back on the pressure Peko had to endure in her previous life, the love she held for Fuyuhiko that never seemed returned due to his cold-hearted attitude. Seeing them changed so much, along with everyone else, was more than Hinata could have hoped when everyone was saved from the program.
"Heyyo! We're here!" Soda yelled out as he slammed the door open, his skin sparkly clean along with Gundam and Sonia, they must have taken a bath before coming here. Sonia's good hygiene habits must be rubbing off on him, before now it would have been days or even weeks before he would clean himself because he was too preoccupied with his machines. "Hey guys, come on in, the only one we're waiting for now is Teru," at mentioning this the three took on a puzzled look which only made Hinata do the same. "That's odd, we didn't see anyone in the Kitchen, and the lights were off," Sonia noted, her hand placing itself against her cheek in an elegant fashion.
The news was off indeed, Teru was supposed to be washing the last of the dishes, where could he be now? "I'll go ahead and look for him, you all stay here," everyone else nodded as he made his way out of the rec room and downstairs to the mess hall. If something did happen to Teru, Hinata knew he was the safest one to go because of his list of talents. When he made it down he saw it was true, seeing that the Kitchen light was off stepping through the mess hall he walked into the kitchen through the entrance on the side. Some dishes were still dirty in the sink, so why was Teru not here? Then he heard it, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" It sounded like Mikan screaming!
Hinata darted back up to the stairs, the lights had been turned off here too! Being careful with his footing he ran up the stairs back to the rec room, flinging the door open he was blinded by the flash of a bright light which caused him to cover his eyes. Then a loud array of pops and cheers filled his ears as the lights shot back on, "Surpriiiiiiiise!" Rubbing his eyes from the flash he looked around the room in awe, everyone was there including Teru with a cake for him. Dumbfounded, all he could do was smile a sheepish smile as they all cheered for him with confetti poppers in hand. "What's going on today? It's not my birthday today is it?"
"Non, however, what it IS is the day you became a part of our class," Teru said in his overly formal way of speech as if trying to be a 5-star chef. At the mention of that day, all the memories came flooding back, not only was it the day Hinata officially joined...it was the day of...her death. Looking across everyone he could feel tears begin to sting his eyes, all of them with sad furrowed eyebrows and knowing smiles at what today was. The day they made a new classmate...and lost one too. Hinata couldn't keep himself from falling to his knees, the strength in them seeming to fail him as he began to let the tears flow, everyone coming around him in a comforting group embrace.
"Nanami...she hated seeing any of us hurting, but most of all...she hated to see any of us putting on a fake smile to hide the pain..." Mahiru decided to speak up as the group hug slowly dispersed. "Despite the things that happened on this day all those years ago, I don't think...no...I know for a fact she would rather us spend it smiling, remembering the good times we had together," everyone nodded in agreement. "That is to say, we should cherish her memory by doing what she loved most about our class. How happy...a-and fun it became when we were together," Mikan noted, stuttering at the end as her tears began to well up, Hiyoko gently petting the nurse's head in a rare act of kindness.
"You guys..." He couldn't help but smile with tears streaming down his face at the wondrous class he had the privilege of being a part of. After a few moments of letting out our tears, we wiped them away and stood tall, "Then I guess we better enjoy tonight as much as we can, shouldn't we?" Hinata said, happiness returning to his voice as everyone took a cup and held it high. "For Nanami, may you be beating high schools in the afterlife...Cheers!" Everyone followed suit with a cheer of their own before everyone chugged their drinks in respect of their past classmate. "Now then! Without further ado! A special surprise for our resident Class President from all of us to you!" Soda yelled out before picking up a large box and holding it out to Hinata.
"Haha, what could this be?" Hinata was clueless to the surprise as he lifted the lid off the box, his eyes shimmering as his chest thumped a small bit. "Guys...how did.." inside was a custom-built video game console with controllers and games to boot. Hinata could almost feel his tears returning upon seeing the gift. "It wasn't easy, we all had to stretch our talents a little bit out of our comfort zones...hehe," Ryota explained as he looked over at the rest of the class. "The entertainment team took care of actually making the video games while the engineering team made the hardware with a little help from our resident nurses steady hand to make sure the electrical components were fitted properly, hell we even implemented different language options with Sonia's help despite most of us only speaking Japanese," Soda continued the explanation.
"The workout team helped with the fighting games and statistical calculations for leveling up, Teru helped pick some good food options for the adventure games, and we synced into Nagito's energy to formulate a luck system for some of the games too. Everyone helped in one way or another, I of course did the voice-overs," Impo finished off the explanation while Hinata looked around in amazement. "Everyone...thank you, thank you all so much..." he chuckled a bit to himself, deciding not to ruin the moment by telling them he had game development and hardware development talents as well. Though he knew that even if he did, it wouldn't have been nearly as special as this one is. He could tell the time they put into this was something to be cherished.
"Well then, who wants to play me first? Though be prepared, I may have inherited a few things from Nanami," Hinata teased a bit as he hooked up the console, a fiery passion burning in his eyes as he started the console up and connected the controllers. Throughout the night everyone would laugh and cheer, drinking and singing with one another as they took turns playing the different video games developed by the entertainment team. After hours of partying into the night, the only three left standing and awake were Hinata, Mikan, and Saionji who were all sitting together looking over the sea of passed-out classmates.
"They should really watch their alcohol intake, I know it's fun but...it can lead to so many bad situations," Mikan noted as she sat in the chair next to Hinata, Saionji sitting on the opposite side of him. "Eh, let them have their fun, these nights are all we have on this island, after all, might as well make the most of it, right?" Saionji said with her playful smirk. "Hehe, I guess that's true," Hinata chuckled before leaning his head back with a sigh, his eyes closed, quickly falling asleep. The two girls looking at each other before smiling and leaning their heads against each of his shoulders, shuttering their eyes to get some sleep for themselves. And so ends another day in the Life on Jabberwock Island.
