Chapter 6
~Small timeskip~
It has been a month since I was thrust into this world, universe? And I have gotten into a sort of routine at the castle. Wake up in Alcina's arms, get dressed in whatever she picks for me, have breakfast, then the rest of the day is mine for the most part. Most of the time I have spent with Alcina though. Both of us enjoying the others presence even if we don't speak a word. If I am not with her I am thinking of ways to stop the events of the game. One thing I have already managed to do is eliminate the way Ethan got into the castle. That mechanical door leading to the vineyards now only opens from the inside. Meaning a guard on the other side has to open it for you. I managed this feat by getting 'lost' while exploring the castle grounds. Alcina didn't like how easy it was for me to get to the bridge.
During the past month I have managed to get on good terms with Bela and Daniela. Casandra won't even give me the time of day other then to insult me. The dark haired girl not liking in the slightest how attached her mother is to me. She still flaunts my brooch whenever she catches me glancing at it. I have had three other visions that I am doing my best to forget. When the forth one happened I broke down and told Alcina about the one of her I saw. She laughed at me and said that no human could kill her so easily. But the next day I noticed that more female guards had been placed around the castle. More then likely she has moved or disposed of the knife. Or at least I hope she has. That was three days ago, and she hasn't asked about the visions again thankfully.
.
Smoke fills my lungs as I run through the burning building. My long silver hair stained black and sticking to my face. Frantically I call out for someone as I run from room to room. Having to stop to couch into my hand repeatedly. Pretty soon I am forced to flee the building to the safety of the snow covered field. Faceless people are gathered behind me, all of them yelling at me. Calling me a witch and to burn in hell for bringing this plague with me. "What? I-I'm not a witch! I tried to help all of you!" My words fall on deaf ears as I am grabbed by my hair and dragged back towards the fire. "Please stop!" Tears stream down my face as I am thrown down next to a badly burned child's body. "Samantha..." The name comes out as a sob, as I cradle the dead girl in my arms. "Why..." My eyes burn like fire as my anger towards the villagers hits its breaking point. "AAAARRRRGGHHHHAAAAA!" My ear piercing scream echoes into the night as the flames dance around me.
" ! " My eyes open wide as I awake gasping for air. The sound of my heartbeat filling my ears as it beats rapidly. It feels like my body is still in that fire. Skin blistering and burning away as my screams filled the air. 'I-I can't move!' My eyes stare straight up at the beds headboard in a panic. My breathing starts to stutter as my body struggles to keep up with my mind. Mentally I know it was a dream, but for some reason I can actually feel what happened in the dream. 'Help.' Tears slide down my cheeks as the burning sensation only gets worse. "A..." My voice barely even makes a sound. But that small sound seemed to be my saving grace as Alcina began to stir. Her arms tightening around me makes me whimper in pain. The older woman's eyes shoot open when she hears me.
"Serilda?" All I can do is cry as she moves to sit up in bed. A candle quickly being lit on the bedside table behind her. Worried blue eyes scan me for any obvious injuries. "Serilda, draga mea, if you can hear me please show me. " Her voice sounds like its on the edge of being frantic. My eyes frantically look around as the image of flames flickers just out of view. Alcina moves to be hovering over me, one of her hands next to my head as she stares down at me. "Look at me."
'Is this sleep paralysis?' I wonder as I look at her as ordered, my emerald eyes full of fear and pain. 'Move damit!' Fighting with all my might I manage to make my fingers twitch. That small movement seeming to be the key to unlocking the rest of my body. The burning sensation is still there but I ignore it as I tackle hug Alcina. Surprising both of us when I cause us to fall onto the bed with me now laying on top of Alcina. My sobs fill the once quiet night as I cry into Alcina's shoulder. She doesn't say anything, she just holds me close while running her long fingers through my hair.
"I am starting to feel like your personal stuffed animal with how much you cry on me." Her words make me laugh a little, my normal bell-like laugh sounding hollow right now.
"You are the best stuffed vampire I have ever had." I reply with a sniffle, siting up to wipe away my tears. "Sorry about tackling you like that, love. "
"Hn." She remains laying down with me straddling her stomach, her hair is laying in a halo around her head. One of her hands moving to rest on my thigh. "Care to explain this latest fiasco?"
"A memory dream..."
"Memory dream?" Her slender brow raises curiously as she looks at me.
" Yes. My visions are not always while I am awake." A blush dusts my cheeks when she starts to massage my thigh absentmindedly. "My dreams are haunted by my past lives..." Alcina looks at me with concern as I tell her about my dream. My hands clinching into fists in my lap when I get to the part about Samantha. "She was the first...the first child I lost, no the first one stolen from me. I was a healer in that life. But when a sickness swept through the village they blamed me. "
"Do not think of the past, Serilda." When I go to respond angrily she places her hand over my mouth. "Let me finish. Forget the foul things that ended your lives, and try to focus on all the good before then." Before I can blink she has me pinned under her on the bed. Her eyes glowing gold as she leans down to whisper in my ear. " Besides~" Her hot breath leaves a trail down my neck. My head tilting to the side instinctively so my neck is fully bared to her. "I am here to chase away all your nightmares.~"
(I'm not very confident writing 'lemons' lol So this is the best I can do at the moment. )
That morning I got to experience the 'special' attention of one Alcina Dimitrescu. What made her decide to ravish me so wonderfully I do not fully know. But I do know I would gladly give myself to her again. Her kisses sent waves of pure joy through my whole body. Alcina was careful not to hurt me in any way that wasn't playful. When she had had her fill of me, having fully satisfied me as well, she laid down with me held to her side. My head resting on her stomach as I try and calm my rapidly beating heart while she smokes her pipe. She is laying with her back propped against the headboard of the bed.
'I can die happy now I think.' I'm no virgin but the way Alcina made love to me made me feel like one. This though makes me feel embarrassed again. I nuzzle her stomach, drawing little patterns on her skin with my fingertips. 'She didn't even seem to care about my scars. All she saw was...me.' My lips form a tired smile against her skin. Slowly I sit up to look at Alcina as she exhales a cloud of pipe smoke. Biting my bottom lip in hesitation as I try and get the courage to do what I had planned. 'Aw fuck it!' I yell in my head before shifting to be on my knees in front of her. My long silver hair falling in waves over my back and chest.
"Yes, pet?~" Her luscious voice purrs as she watches me get closer. Her eyes widening in surprise when I grab her face, pulling her into a loving kiss. I feel her smile against my lips before I pull away. Not being able to look her in the eye as I move my hands away from her cheeks.
"Umpf!" Is all I can manage as her large hand grabs the back of my head and pulls me in for another kiss. This one leaving me breathless when Alcina finally releases her hold on me.
"You belong to me forever now, Iubirea mea."
"Only if that means you belong to me as well." I reply with a playful grin, wrapping my arms around her neck. Her eyes flash gold as a laugh escapes her lips. "Something amusing?"
"Only you can get away with claiming me in such a way. Now~" She grabs my waist pulling me closer, having set her pipe on the bedside table. "I require another taste of you.~"
'Oh shit.'
~timeskip~
To say that today was embarrassing is putting it mildly. When Alcina and I arrived to breakfast none of the triplets would look at us. Even Cassandra was quiet for once which made me nervous. The maids serving breakfast kept sneaking looks at me when they could. I did my best to ignore them but one of the younger girls caught my attention. She was just staring at my shoulder, the dress I'm wearing having a low neckline. Glancing down at my shoulder made me drop the biscuit I was eating. There on my shoulder near my collarbone was a large bite mark. The area around the bite having started to bruise. Slowly the pieces started to fall into place for me as I look up at a very smug Alcina. She planned this! I was going to wear a different dress before she snatched it out of my hands. That sneaky woman knew she left a mark on me. 'Well two can play at that game. I'll get you back for this later Madam Dimitrescu.' Smirking as I stand up and leave the table. Sending Alcina a glare as I pass her that has her gripping her wine glass tighter. Once I am out of the dining room I make my way to the study. Sighing to myself when the maid from last night suddenly appears behind me. She doesn't say anything to me but is quick to open the door of the study when I reach for the handle.
"Thank you..." I pause to allow her to say her name, having forgotten it somehow.
"Nadia, mistress."
"Thank you, Nadia." I give her a small smile as I walk into the room. Being quick I grab my drawings and the leftover paper from yesterday. "Nadia do you know if there are any paints I would be allowed to use?"
"P-Paint? Um...there are the materials the young ladies no longer use. " Her feet shift nervously as she speaks. " The all gave up painting as a hobby years ago. So there is plenty of unused canvases and paints."
"As long as they are not will be missed please bring them to me. Hmm...I suppose bring them to Alcina's room. Along with a small tarp if possible. "
"Yes m-mistress!" The girl is off in a flash to retrieve the items.
"That should keep her busy for a while." Gathering my things I quickly head back to Alcina's bedroom. "Now to make a basic sketch of what I will paint. And I need to stop talking to myself..." I mumble the last part with a soft laugh, settling down in one of the chairs next to the fireplace. The next half hour is spent sketching out a rough draft of painting ideas. While I am sketching the image of a young girl keeps popping into my head. And because of this I end up with a bunch of little sketches of her. "Who are you..." Nadia comes into the room with a canvas and set of paints during this time. The girl even thought to bring a cup of water and drying cloths for the brushes. I have her place them next to the balcony doors, out of the way of any normal foot traffic. So focused on figuring out who this girl is I don't even look up when Nadia is ordered out of the room. 'This kinda looks like Eveline but it clearly isn't her.'
"Serilda."
'Why do I feel like I know her from somewhere?' My eyes burn as I stare at my drawing. 'Wait...' As if my hand is being controlled by someone else, I start to draw another portrait next to the girls. Someone touches my shoulder as I work but I ignore them. If I had control of my body I would have looked at them. But whoever is doing this really wants me to finish this drawing. Out of the corner of my eye I see black curls as the person leans over my shoulder. My hand starts to hurt from how tightly I am holding the pen. Just as I am about to start panicking, whatever had its hold on me lets go. The pen falls from my hand then rolls off the table to the carpeted floor.
"Why have you drawn her?" Alcina's voice becomes angry when she says 'her'.
"I don't know..." I tilt my head back so I can look up at Alcina. " I couldn't get this girl out of my head and kept sketching her. Then that- " I point at the drawing of Mother Miranda without her mask I drew. "happened. Do they look similar to you?" Alcina reaches over and picks up the drawings, looking them over carefully before placing them back on the table.
"They share an obvious resemblance, but I cannot say I know the girl you have drawn. "
"I feel like I should know her but the name won't come to me."
"If it is truly important the name will reveal itself to you. " She starts to trace over the bite mark on my shoulder with her finger. I glare up at her with my cheeks puffed out childishly.
"Are you happy now that everyone has seen your claim mark?"
"Immensely so, my love."
"I feel a little cheated since I cannot leave a mark on you. " I pout up a her, reaching up to lightly trail my fingers over her cheek. "Your blasted healing has already removed anything I may have left on you."
"Not true, love. "
"Hm?" She picks me up bridal style to give me a chaste kiss.
"You have laid claim to me in a way only I can see. "
"And how have I laid this invisible claim?" My eyes widen when she grabs my hand and places it over her heart.
"Need I explain any further?"
"N-Nope!" We share a loving kiss before she sets me back on my feet. My heart feeling all giddy from how sweet Alcina's gesture was just now. 'She just admitted that I have claimed her heart!' Suddenly I get an idea of how to get back at Alcina for the bite mark. Her little admission was cute, but I am still mad at her for that. "Alcina?"
"Yes?"
"Am I allowed to leave the castle, or am I trapped here with your lovely self forever?" I ask with my back turned to her, pretending to be busy tidying up my drawings. She remains silent for a moment as she watches me place the lid back on the ink.
"You would be required to have an escort, but yes you are allowed to leave. "
"Who would be my escort?"
"If I have no business for the day I would be the one to do it. But if I cannot then the maid I assigned you, or one of the castle guards shall accompany you."
"Any rules I should be aware of besides that?"
"Hmm..." A startled 'eep!' comes from me when she pinches my hip as she passes me. "You are not to leave the village. "
"Why would I leave you?" My response gets an approving look from her.
"Good answer, Iubirea mea. " Her hand rests on the doorframe as she ducks through the door. I watch her with a small blush, totally not checking her out as I follow her. My pace quickening to keep up with her longer strides as we talk.
"Anything else? "
"Not that I can think of at the moment. Unlike those filthy manthings like Heisenberg, you have a good head on your shoulders."
"Please do not ever compare me to him. " My nose scrunches up at the thought of the metalworker. I feel sympathy for him for being forced into things by Miranda. But other then that I just could never really like him.
"You look adorable when you do that." She chuckles softly while tapping the tip of my nose. A small sneeze escaping me when she does this. "Where is it you wish to go anyways?"
"I was hoping to pay a visit to Donna and Angie. They have done a lot for me and I was thinking of giving them a gift."
"Is that why you had Nadia bring out the girls old art supplies?"
"Yes. I planned on painting something for her. And if I am allowed in the kitchens perhaps make some muffins as well." A smile crosses my lips at a memory of one of Donna's visits. The doll maker having gotten all embarrassed when she ate all the muffins when we had tea together. "She really has a big sweet tooth."
"She would appreciate the muffins more than a painting. Donna is not fond of her looks..."
"Your right hmm..." I stop walking as I think about Donna, my smile turning into a worried frown. 'How thoughtless of me, of course Donna wouldn't like a painting of herself. Not with how self conscious she is about her looks.' As I'm thinking that horrible burning sensation hits my eyes again. My hands move up to rub at my eyes in an attempt to stop the burning. "Ow.."
"Serilda?" Alcina's worried voice makes me look up. She has her hand out towards me, her lips pressed into a thin line. Both of us knowing that this is normally a sign a vision is coming. "Are you having another vision?"
"I don't believe so..." I rub at my eyes again in frustration. " They are burning but- " Just as fast as the burning came it vanishes into thin air. "That was odd, hopefully this isn't a bad omen or something." I laugh nervously while rubbing the back of my head.
"You are to stay by my side the rest of the day." And that is what I did until the next day. Alcina not letting me out of her sight until we both fell asleep that night.
