Leia Forman, God help her, actually likes Point Place. She's always had fun during her visits over the years - was born in the town, actually - but her parents, aunts, and uncles have always told the place is a shithole. They all left the first chance she could. But she leapt at the chance to stay with her grandparents and not spend all summer with her parents and siblings this year, wanting to explore the town some more. And they're both happy to have her (no matter what her grandfather claimed. She knows he's a softie, even though he will never admit it). So, when she got up for breakfast one morning, she pretty much knew what was coming next. "Hi, Grandma. Grandpa!" she chirped happily.

Red narrowed his eyes at his oldest grandchild. "It's too early in the morning for this. Just like your father."

"And there's nothing wrong with that," Kitty chimed in as she set a plate of scrambled eggs on the table.

Leia's eyes lit up and she stabbed a few of them with her fork. "Thank you," she murmured as she started tearing into her eggs and toast.

"You're welcome, sweetheart. Anything for my granddaughter." Kitty beamed at her as she sat down in her chair. "What are your plans for today?"

Leia waited to finish chewing before she responded. "I think I'm going to hang out with those kids I met at the park the other day. They seem pretty nice."

"Don't be a dumbass," Red advised immediately.

"Red!" Kitty chided. She sighed.

Leia snorted. "I don't plan to be but thank you for your advice, Grandpa. I really appreciate it." Sucking up to him couldn't hurt any, could it? Seemed to have helped her dad (sometimes).

"Don't do any drugs, get arrested, or hurt yourself. Those are my rules. Please follow me."

"All my grandbabies are perfect. Leia won't get into any trouble." Kitty was absolutely certain of that, although she knew better.

"Look who her father is, Kitty. I'm just being realistic."

"Do you want me to put my foot up your ass? Don't test me, Red Forman."

God, Leia loved these two. "No thanks to feet up any asses. Stand down," she joked. And besides, the only one likely to get a foot up their ass was her cousin, especially since Katie was a Hyde.

"I trust you, Leia. Make good choices." Kitty flashed her a smile and started eating her breakfast again.

"I put up with teenagers for way too long. No matter how good they claim to be, they're always getting into something. I got my eye on you." But Leia seemed to be a good kid, which Red was thrilled about. She was their oldest grandchild, his favorite (not that he'd ever admit that to anybody, of course).

Leia quickly devoured her breakfast, anxious to end this conversation, and then made her way to the park to hang out with her new friends, who greeted her with excitement.

Later that afternoon, the last thought she had before she plummeted off the water tower and broke a few bones was that she should have listened to everybody who warned her against this. Damn her for laughing at all their water tower stories and then dismissing them.
