Yo. First story. Please excuse any spelling and grammatical errors, hopefully they get better over time. Also, this is rated M just in case I write something that doesn't fall under previous ratings. No lemons you fucking weirdos. Anyways, enjoy! Please review and let me know of ideas or suggestions and also let me know if I make any mistakes because like I said before, this is my first fic.

Minato and Kushina Uzumaki-Namikaze had always dreamt of building the perfect family. 3 or so kids, in a nice, large home. They had also hoped that when the time came, nothing terrible happened to impede upon their dreams. Everything was going smoothly for the couple, as they already had their 4 year old son, Naruto, and Kushina was pregnant once more. In fact, she was giving birth at this very moment, to a beautiful daughter they decided to name Narumi.

"AAAHH DAMMIT MINATO!" Kushina screamed as her husband tried calming her down. Her emotions ruling her through the immense pain.

"Please Kushina, push one more time, I can almost see the head." Biwako, the Third Hokage's wife, tried to reassure her while grabbing Minato's arm and pulling him away from his screaming wife. Minato was panicking even though he had another child before Narumi, but he wasn't there for that birth, as he was swamped with paperwork due to his title as the Fourth Hokage.

Eventually, Narumi was released from Kushina's exhausted body, and she got to see her little bundle of joy. That was until the masked man burst into the room, and rushed over and kicked the startled Minato in the side, and grabbed Kushina, who was still holding her daughter, and teleported using a space time jutsu Minato was unfamiliar with. After recovering from his confusion, Minato used his Hiraishin to teleport to the seal he had placed on his wife for occasions such as this. By the time he got to his wife, the Kyuubi had already been extracted, and was ramaging through Konoha.

Using his brain for once, he rushed over and grabbed the demon fox, and teleported himself and the fox away from the village before trying to subdue it. He had studied the fox many times before since his wife was the Jinchuuriki, and he already knew he could not kill the beast, but had to seal it once more. He also knew that he could only seal it inside of an infant, due to their chakra coils being flexible since they hadn't grown. This was important because of the massive amount of chakra the Kyuubi had being inside of their body, and already mature chakra coils would shatter from the stress of that much chakra, but an infants would grow to accompany the massive amount of chakra. There was only one infant he could use in good conscious.

His newborn daughter, Narumi.

He threw one of his Hiraishin kunai into the ground, then teleported once more back to Kushina, who still had Narumi, and picked up the newborn. Kushina's eyes widened as she saw what he was planning for their daughter.

"MINATO NO! You can't do that to our daughter! Our baby girl! There has to be something else! Please Minato don't do this!" Kushina pleaded as she used her little energy resulting from childbirth and having the Kyuubi ripped from her body, rendering her unconscious. Minato sighed, knowing he would hear about this later, but he had no choice. He teleported back to the kunai he threw down earlier and summoned an altar to place Narumi down onto. He started weaving the hand signs for the Shiki Fujin until he heard someone yelling for him.

"Minato if you finish that jutsu I will personally do everything in my power you suffer eternally in the afterlife!" Minato flinched at the threat and turned around to see the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, in his combat attire running towards him. "I will seal it Minato. You have a family to take care of. I have already lived a long life, and you have things to take care of still. Also, between you and me, if you were to die, I would have to become Hokage again, and I don't want to deal with the paperwork again." Minato let out a chuckle as the words sank in. He knew Hiruzen was right, but he still felt immensely guilty for sitting back and letting it happen while he had ample opportunity to do it himself. "Don't worry so much Minato. It'll be fine. I'm sure everyone will understand." Hiruzen reassured his successor as he started forming the same hand seals himself, summoning the God of Death, the Shinigami, to seal away the Kyuubi.

"Shiki Fujin!" He exclaimed, as the Kyuubi yelled into the night, cursing out the Third Hokage as he was pulled into the 'brat' as he called it. The Shinigami, finishing his job, took his payment, and left Konoha to their business, as Minato let out silent tears as he stared at Hiruzen Sarutobi's lifeless body.

2 days later

Minato had just left the hospital, where Kushina was recovering from having the Kyuubi extracted. Normally, the Jinchuuriki of a Biju would die upon it's extraction, but Kushina's Uzumaki heritage let her barely escape the Shinigamis grasp.

Minato knew he had to tell the village something about how he handled the Kyuubi but he didn't know how to go about it. His wife insisted that he tell the village that the chakra of the beast was in their daughter Narumi, while the soul was inside of Naruto. Minato argued that it was a terrible idea since they would basically be using their eldest child as a scapegoat to protect their other child. Kushina retorted saying they needed to protect Narumi so the villagers don't try and kill her, subsequently reviving the Kyuubi. This went back and forth for a while until Minato caved and agreed, with a heavy guilt weighing down on him.

He gathered the villagers, and stood atop the Hokage tower. He explained exactly what his wife insisted he said, along with the rest of the details regarding the Third Hokage's sacrifice to the village. Minato hated lying to the village about something as important as that, but he didn't have any other alternatives.

With Naruto

3 hours later

Naruto was walking through the market section of Konoha on his way to the Namikaze estate. He had noticed that the villagers were treating him weirdly. Before he got happy greetings and offers of candy, which he always refused because he never really had a sweet tooth, but now, he was getting stares and he noticed they were muttering and whispering to eachother quietly enough that he couldnt hear them. This severely confused his 4 year old mind.

He entered his home to the smell of dinner being cooked, and his father, Minato at the dinner table, which was rare due to his occupation.

Naruto approached the table and stood next to his dad, whom hadnt noticed him yet. "Hey dad, the villagers were acting weird today. Did something happen?" Minato looked down at his son, before flicking his head to Kushina, giving her an "already?" look.

Minato couldn't think of a proper explanation without flat out telling him what happened. "Uh, I don't know son. Maybe there was some kind of bandit that came through town today? I'd have to ask them." He knew it wasn't very believable, but he was talking to a 4 year old, so hopefully it did the trick, which it seemed to.

"Alright. I'm not very hungry so I'm probably just going to go to bed. Goodnight." Naruto started walking up the stairs, paying attention to the fact his parents were watching him attentively. Despite the fact he was 4, he was very smart. Smarter than most people expected at least. He could tell what his father said was a lie almost immediately, but he didn't want to worry his parents. So he did what he said he was going to do, which was go to bed.

Hey there! Thanks for sticking around till the end. I know this was mostly boring exposition type stuff but it's still important. I'm sorry about that. Next chapter will be more interesting. Speaking of, I plan to make this a 1-2 chapter per week type thing, and then maybe more on the weekend, but we'll see. Also I didnt mention this before, but this will be a Naruto Neglect fic. I've read a bunch of them, but I've always found something that I wanted to be different about each one of them, so instead, I'm writing my own!
