In this variation of 'The Morphodite' JP has bought old decommissioned warships and 100's of tons of Titanium & Stainless Chromium steel to build Spaces ships, in the late 1990's. He has Harry Potter and his fiancée, Hermione Granger.
Hermione and other Astro-Physicists have taken muggle designs and converted them to operate within a field of magnetic magnetism controlled by fields of magic. A Runemadter is required to carve the runes in the objects to contain the field, other crystals to manipulate the fields controlling expansion and contraction with safe areas for humans to reside in and areas that are safe to be warded with force fields to keep people out of those unsafe areas.
JP had seen a documentary on Carlsbad Caverns and in one of the deepest caverns there were crystals growing. Though these crystals were several feet in diameter and several meters long. The Cavern Rangers had sealed one end with a steel door attached to a room. Cave explorers had to wear insulated suits to go into the crystal room because the temperature was around 140 degrees.
Some of the crystals were over 50 feet long and 3 to 6 feet in diameter. JP was thinking such crystals would be great for warp engines as originally seen on TV's Star Trek program.
JP, Harry, Hermione and several Aurors took a port key to Alberta, Canada, then port keyed into a motel located in White City, New Mexico - The Thunderbird Lodge. A room was reserved for them and had strong wards around it except for port keys keyed into the room with passwords.
The Wizards of America needed the design their scientist and Hermione Granger had designed which included these crystals. So they were assisting in the recovery of the crystals.
It took several hours to recover about 50%,of the crystals and then the Rune Master inscribed several runes for the crystals to start duplicating themselves, which they slowly did. It took 2 hours to duplicate the 50% remaining crystals. It took another hour to recover those and teleport them out.
All in all it took about two weeks to recover enough crystals to power more than the 10 space ships JP was having made and the 25 ships the Americans were building.
About two years later the ships JP had bought and paid for were ready for testing. After they passed their a. unt aall the food types had to be loaded including the crops to grow on their long journey through space.
Their resident seer Syllabus McCarthy along with other seers from the colonies had already had a vision on where their space ships would have to maneuver through space to find the solar systems they were going to be going towards which was about 25,900 light years away.
They had figured that at 35% to 60% of warp drive would get them their in 2 years and 3 or 4 months.
The American wizards helped the non magical humans in going to Mars and terraforming it to live on. The wizards though took over the moons of Jupiter & Saturn. The English wizards were going outside of the solar system.
