Hello there. Sooo... This is a little something I came up with. This is the follow up of my story "Sunset On Arisio". This one has no chapter limits because I don't know when or where to stop. Anyway... I hope you enjoy the first Chapter. There will be Drama, there will be Adventure and... Most importantly, there will be LOVE! Feedback is very welcome dear friends. And now... Enjoy!
A dimensional rift opens at the outer edge of Megalopolis. A former imperial Starship from the time Emperor Nefarious ruled, passes through. It slowly makes its way into town. Obviously the pilot is not used to fly here as some mishaps happen where to fly by the rules. They manage to land the ship somewhere near the center of the city.
First, a male Lombax with yellow fur and brown stripes emerges from the ship, still a little shaken by the near collisions on the way here. Then a female Lombax with white fur and blue stripes joins him. She laughs and pats him on the back, making him actually fall over. "See? I told you it was no problem!" the female Lombax laughs while placing her hands on her hips. She looks down at the male with a big grin on her face.
The male Lombax looks a little annoyed at her. "Nearly." he says. "You definitely need to learn the rules, Rivet." he says while he stands up. "Okay, okay… Maybe there were some problems. But I think I handled it pretty well." Rivet says with a big smile. The male Lombax looks at her before he smiles and shakes his head. "Yeah you did great." he says while he walks over to her. He pulls her in for a gentle kiss which she happily returns.
"I'm just happy we made it without… NEARLY without complications." a small silver robot says. "Kit and I got a little thrown around in the back." he says. "I have to agree with Clank. You are a great Pilot, Rivet. As long as you know the rules." the small yellow Robot says.
Rivet sighs. "Alright. I got it. The rules." she says, a little annoyed. "So… Ratchet. Where do we go?" she asks the male Lombax. "First… We'll go to my apartment. There we can get comfortable and talk about our future plans. Like… Where to live, a house or just a flat." he explains while he starts walking.
Rivet follows him while she looks around. She was here just once and didn't have time to look at the city as ist was assaulted by Emperor Nefarious. Now this would be her new home. "Well… A house would be expensive." she says. Some of the citizens greet Ratchet and Clank, saying they're their heroes. Rivet lifts an eyebrow. "You two seem to be very famous, huh?" she asks.
Ratchet looks at her and shrugs. "We saved them two or three times." he smirks. "I see…" She says with a smile. "What's it like being a hero?" Kit suddenly asks. Ratchet looks at the small yellow robot. "You tell me. You two are heroes as well." he says with a smile. "I don't feel any different than before." Kit replies. Ratchet smiles wider and nods, leaving Kit to think about that.
Rivet notices the giant mall and the nearby park. She stops to stare at them. Ratchet looks at her and laughs. "Impressive, huh? Where you've got your basar, we have this mall over there." he explains. Rivet looks at him. "This place is so… Colourful and crowded. The Emperor may be gone, but… Nefarious City still looks so colourless." she says as she looks back.
Ratchet walks over to her, placing his left hand on her bionic shoulder. "Want to look around?" he asks with a smile. "Without us." Clank says. "I can't wait to get home…" He says. The two Lombaxes look at the robots. "We'll just move ahead and wait for you at home." Clank says before he and Kit start to make their way home.
Ratchet watches them leave before he looks back at Rivet. "Alright… Wanna go?" he holds his hand towards her. She looks at him, then at his hand. She gives him a kiss and giggles playfull. "Bet I'll be there first." she says before she starts running. Ratchet blinks surprised. "H-hey!" He laughs and follows her. "That's not fair!" he yells.
Rivet is fast but Ratchet manages to catch up to her since she is dodging people and just doesn't know where to go. She sees the entrance to the mall and makes a quick dash for it. Ratchet looks at her surprised as he also sprints towards it. Both of them enter the giant mall at the same time. Exhausted they fall to the ground, catching their breath. Rivet looks over at him with a smirk. "I… Won." she says. Ratchet looks at her. "No you didn't… I won." he laughs as he sits up. Some of the visitors looked confused at the two Lombaxes. Rivet stands up. "Let's settle on a draw." she grins. Ratchet looks at her with a soft smile as he stands up. He gives her a loving kiss which she returns. "That's fine by me." Ratchet says. Rivet looks at him with a soft smile as they both start walking again. "I'm still faster though." she adds with a giggle.
As they walk through the mall Rivet's stomach growls. She holds her hand onto it, a little embarrassed. Ratchet looks at her with a loving smile. "Hungry, are we?" he asks with a grin. "To be fair… We didn't have breakfast, we were running towards the mall aaaaaand we had an exhausting night, hm?" She grins at him, slightly blushing. Ratchet widens his eyes as he also blushes. "Rrrrriiiiiiggggggght." he says. "I know a good restaurant here. I bet you'll like it." he says with a big smile while he grabs her hand and leads her to an upper level of the mall.
After some walking a delicious smell hits Rivet's nose. They enter a small restaurant. There was a counter and only two tables. Behind the counter stands a four armed man who looks up as soon as the two Lombaxes enter. He smiles. "Ratchet! Long time no see." he says with joy in his voice until he notices Rivet. He stares at her for a long time. "Another Lombax?" he asks surprised.
"That's Rivet. She is… Well… From another dimension." Ratchet says with a smile. "Hey." Rivet says while waving at him a little. "Hello." he says while guiding them towards a table. "Nice to meet you Rivet. I'm Maraku." he introduces himself. "Pleasure." Rivet says with a smile. "Sooo… What can I get you?" he asks.
Ratchet looks at Rivet. "Hmm… The best you can offer." he smiles. Maraku notices how he looks at her. He grins and nods. "It shall be done." he says while walking towards the door, closing it. He hangs up a little sign before he lowers the curtains of his shop. Ratchet and Rivet look a little confused as it gets dark all of a sudden. Maraku returns to their table with some candles and a dark red tablecloth. He ignites the candles while he also scatters some rose petals on the table.
Ratchet now understands what's going on. He blushes. "Uhm… That was… Not necessary." He says with a smile. Maraku looks at him. "No? Might as well take it now, buddy." he grins before he disappears behind a door. Rivet looks around the room before she looks at Ratchet. He smiles at her with a sorry smile. "Uhm… I guess he got excited?" he says. Rivet giggles and shuffles next to him. She rests her head onto his shoulder. "Might as well take it." she says with a grin. Ratchet laughs a little and gently lays his head onto hers. "Right."
Slowly Maraku's head rises behind the window on the door. He looks at them and nods as he resumes cooking. "You know this guy well?" Rivet asks. "Yeah… I often eat here. His food is awesome. And to top it all, he's super friendly." he says with a smile. "I noticed." she chuckles.
They enjoy each other's company until Maraku comes out of the kitchen. Both of them get a steak with some seared onions and fries. "Enjoy." Maraku says before he gets back into the kitchen. Rivet looks at her food. "What's that?" she asks. Ratchet looks at her with big eyes until he remembers. "Right. You never had time for something like this." he says. Rivet looks at him and nods. "Yep." she says before she looks back at her food. "Well… That's a steak. The best steak in the whole galaxy." he grins. "Why don't you try it?"
Rivet looks at her steak. Her tail twitches as she picks up her cutlery and tries the steak. Her ears twitch as she obviously likes it. She smiles as she takes another bite. Ratchet smiles as he starts to eat himself.
After some time the two finish their food. Rivet now lays in his arms. "That steak thingy was awesome." she says. "I know, right?" he says while gently stroking her stomach. "Well… We should get moving." he says. Rivet nods. She gives him a loving kiss on the cheek before she stands up. He smiles and gets up too. He walks over to the counter as Maraku comes out. "You two are leaving?" he asks to which Ratchet nods. "Yeah. Food was great. As always." he says. Maraku smiles. "Glad you two liked it." he says.
Ratchet wants to pay but he gets interrupted by Maraku. "Oh no you don't. You two saved us all. This one is on me. A little thanks." he smiles. Ratchet looks at him surprised. "Oh wow.. Uhh.. Thank you." he says. "No need to, buddy. Hope you two have a great day." Maraku says while waving with both his right hands. Rivet waves at him with a thankful smile as the two Lombaxes leave. "So… What's next?" Rivet asks. Ratchet looks around. It seems he spots something of interest. "Why don't you go over there and get us some dessert, hm?" he points towards a small booth where they sell chocolate covered fruits. Rivet laughs. "If you insist." she grins. "I'll be right back." Ratchet says. "Just need to check something." he adds. Rivet looks at him confused. She nods and starts to walk towards the booth as Ratchet enters what seems to be a bank.
Rivet orders them both chocolate covered bananas. She looks around for Ratchet as she sits down near an indoor pond. It took a while but Ratchet returned to her with a big smile. "Someone looks happy." Rivet says while giving him his banana. "Well… Yeah." he says. "Guess I have a very big surprise for you." He says before he takes a bite of his dessert. Rivet looks at him curious. "You do? What is it?" she asks as she also takes a bite. Ratchet laughs. "It would destroy the surprise if I would tell you." he says with a big grin. Rivet sighs but smiles at him. "Alright. I'm curious." she says.
Ratchet looks at her with a wide grin. "Shall we leave?" he asks. Rivet looks at him confused. "But there is still so much to explore." she says. "You get your surprise." he says with a grin showing his teeth. Rivet looks at him with big eyes. She sighs "Alright. You win." she giggles. "Then let's get home." Ratchet says as gets up and leaves the mall together with her.
They walk through the town while Rivet looks around until they reach a skyscraper. "Here we are." he says as they enter. They get to a lift and proceed to Ratchet's apartment. As they enter, the two robots already await them. "You weren't gone for too long. Did something happen?" Clank asks. "Nothing serious. Just… Get up and follow me. I have a surprise." he says. "A surprise?" Kit asks curiously. Ratchet nods with a grin and signals them to follow. He leads them back to Rivit's ship. This time however, he sits down on the pilot's seat. They lift off and travel out of town. A remote area near a lake. There stands a house with a big garage. He lands in front of it.
Rivet looks around. "Uhm… What are we doing here?" she asks as they approach the house. Ratchet unlocks the front door. "this could be… Our new home." He says with a big smile. Rivet looks at him with big eyes. "It could be what?" she asks in total confusion. Clank narrows his eyes. "Ratchet. Did you buy a house without knowing how it looks?" he asks.
"What? Of course not. I got the key so we can inspect it. It is for sale." he says while he walks inside. "Aaaaand… We get a little… Well… 'Heroes who saved the dimensions' discount." he adds while he looks around. Rivet still stands in front of the house staring at it. "This could be… OUR home?" she asks quietly. She looks at Ratchet. "Together with him…" she whispers. Carefully she enters the house to look around.
The house has a second floor. Right after she enters, there are stairs on her left leading up to two rooms. Right beneath them are two more. The supposed living room was big. Huge windows allow a perfect view onto the lake and a fireplace on the left side for nice evenings. On the right side is a kitchen, open to the living room, a storage room and of course a bathroom with a huge tub. Rivet looks around the house carefully. It seems to be nearly new. "How old is this house?" she asks. Ratchet looks at her before he pulls out some sort of brochure.
"Let's see… Uhm… It's… Oh wow… It's a new house. Not a year old." he frowns. "Okay… Did I say a small discount? I mean… Huge…" he looks around. Clank walks up to him. "How much is 'huge'?" he asks. Ratchet shows him the offer. "Well… That is huge." he agrees. As they discuss it a bit further as Rivet walks around and explores more. She walks outside towards the garage. It was a huge garage. Enough space for her AND his ship. "Does he even have one?" she asks herself quietly.
"Do I even have what?" Ratchet asks. Rivet jumps a little with a small shriek. She looks at Ratchet with big eyes. "WHAT THE HELL, RATCHET?!" she yells at him annoyed. She goes over to him who looks at her with big eyes. She pulls his right ear. "I'll teach you to sneak up on me like that, you Dumbax!" she says. Ratchet struggles. "I'M SORRY! STOP STOP! I'LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN!" he whines.
Rivet sighs and releases her grip on him. He strokes his ear. "Ouch…" he says. Rivet looks at him, still a little annoyed. "You deserved that." she says. "I guess so." he says before he looks around. He whistles. "That garage is huge. Enough space for your ship and mine." Rivet watches him as he walks around. "Even enough space for my tools as well." he says with excitement. The longer she watches him the softer her expression gets. "What do you say?" he suddenly asks her. She looks around again before she smiles at him. "I love it." she says.
Clank and Kit walk in. "So you intend on buying it?" Clank asks. "Well… We all like the house. So… I think we'll take it." Ratchet says. "What if we don't have enough Bolts?" he asks. "We would need someone to help with -" "I'll do it." Rivet interrupts Clank. Surprised, he and Ratchet look at her. "Anything you need… I'll help. I have some Bolts too, you know?" she says. Ratchet smiles at her before he looks at Clank. "Then it's settled." Ratchet says. Clank nods. "Indeed."
Clank and Kit walk out again, still wanting to look around. Ratchet wanted to follow but he was stopped by Rivet. She holds him at his collar with her bionic arm. "Never scare me like that again." she says. Ratchet looks at her with big eyes. He nods quickly. Suddenly Rivet pulls him towards her to give him a loving kiss which he returns. She loosens her grip on him and smiles. "Dumbax." she says and leaves. Ratchet stands there a little confused. "What just happened?" he asks before he turns around and follows her.
"Tomorrow I tell them we'll take it." He says as the four of them stand in the living room. "Until then. Let's head home." he says. They make their way outside. Ratchet locks the door again before he sits down on the pilot's seat. He flies them back to his apartment. As soon as they get in. Ratchet lays down on the couch. He sighs and crosses his arms behind his head. "And now… To relax." he says. Rivet suddenly jumps onto him with a giggle. Now laying on top of him she smiles. "You know… Furniture would be awesome, right?" she asks. Ratchet looks at her before he laughs. "True… Okay. We'll search for some tomorrow. After I talked with the bank." he says. "Good." she chuckles. He lifts his head a little to set his arms free only to wrap them around her. "I love you…" he whispers. Rivet looks at him and smiles softly. "I love you too…" she says quietly before they share yet another loving kiss.
They spent the rest of the day inside, talking about furniture and all that. In the evening, Ratchet speaks up. "I think we worked out a good plan. Tomorrow we'll set it all in motion." he says. "But now… We should go to bed, hm?"
Rivet looks at him and smiles. "Good idea." she says while she stands up. Clank and Kit nod. "Agreed." Clank says. Kit jumps up and down a little. "This is very exciting." she says. Clank laughs a little as they both go to his room. Ratchet leads Rivet into his. He starts to undress until he stands there in his shorts. Rivet locks the door without him noticing. She starts to undress as well. "Oh! Your shirt. I forgot." he says and starts walking towards the door. Rivet stops him mid way.
"Do you really think I need it tonight? Or anything at all?" she asks while raising an eyebrow. Ratchet looks at her with big eyes. "Oh uhm… I-i don't think so?" he asks shyly. Rivet smirks as she's the one pushing him onto the bed. Ratchet watches her undress completely before they share a night of love and passion.
