TC Halloween Episode:
Storyline: It's October 1983, Halloween weekend. Jack, Janet and Terri plan a getaway with their friends. Everyone meets at their favorite vacation spot and strange happenings arise.

October 29th, It's a cool fall Friday evening. Long haired Janet walks into the apartment wearing a burgundy and beige striped turtleneck long sleeve sweater and blue bottom jeans with tan boot heels. She puts her purse onto the chair by the door and walks to the couch and sits down with mail in her hands. Jack walks out of the kitchen in a black zip up sweat shirt and tan pants and a can of beer. "Oh Hi Janet, how was the poetry class with Mrs. Roper?" He says as he sits next to her. "Oh quite amusing, talented writers. Even Mrs. Roper read her short poem." She responded. Jack chuckled. "That must have been a good PASSIONATE poem!" He said while puckering his lips at Janet. Janet looked at him and laughed. "You've got that right! She must be going crazy still craving some...you know..." She said with a tad blush in her cheeks. "Who would've ever thought that they still don't after moving..." Jack said. "Oh well...I guess things never change!" She said with a giggle. ~~~~~
Terri walks into the apartment wearing a fuzzy pink sweater and beige bell bottom jeans holding a brown bag of groceries. "Hi guys!" She said walking to the kitchen door. "Hi Ter! Get me anything nice?: Jack joked. Janet nudged his arm. "Need help putting that away?" Janet asked her. "Sure!" Terri replied. They all head into the kitchen. Terri sets the bag onto the kitchen and starts putting groceries into the fridge. Janet puts the box of crackers in the cabinet. "Girls, what are we doing for Halloween?" Jack asked, drinking his beer. "I was thinking of just getting together with friends and having a spooky party maybe?" Janet replied. "Oh yes! We can have gory games, I can bring some stuff from the hospital!" Terri said. Jack and Janet looked at each other with slight concern and disgust. "I have an idea, why don't we go to Big Bear? Can we invite everyone?" Jack excitedly said. "Oh great idea Jack, I can make some phone calls today to see if anyone can!" Janet said. "Sounds good to me. I will make the travel plans!" Terri said, putting the last of the food away. "Oh I will invite Chrissy!" Janet added. "Great idea Janet, she wanted to visit soon when she called last week." Jack said while heading to the living room. Janet follows and leaves Terri. ~~~~~
It's Saturday, at dawn and Terri is already making coffee. Janet walks out of the bathroom in her blue and white night shirt, you know the one with the "0" on front and her name on back. Janet walks over to Jack's bedroom and knocks while yawning. "Jack! Wake up!" She said and waits a couple seconds after not hearing a sound. "JACK!" Jack opens the door in his blue sweatpants and white tank top. "I have risen." He said scratching his bed head hair. Terri enters from the kitchen with a tray of 3 coffees and muffins. "Morning you two!" she said sitting on the couch and setting tray on the coffee table. Jack and Janet join her. "Wow Terri this is lovely to wake up too!" Janet told her and sat in the middle. "Well we have an exciting weekend ahead and we need to get our day started!" Terri added. Janet hands Jack a coffee and a muffin and herself some too. "Is Chrissy meeting us there or coming here first?" Jack asked. Janet sips her coffee. "Everyone is going to meet us at Big Bear, at the general store before the hill." Janet replied. Terri finishes her muffin and says, "Great, let's get ready! Larry is going to be here in half hour." Terri brings her coffee to the bedroom. Jack stands up. "I'll pack the snacks for the car." He says as he heads to the kitchen. Janet finishes her coffee and takes her muffin with her to the bathroom. ~~~~~
An hour later down at Mr. Furley's apartment, in his bedroom Mr. Furley's wearing a light blue men's polyester jumpsuit is packing the last of his luggage at his bed. The doorbell rings and he grabs his luggage and walks into the living room and opens the door. Larry is standing there in a brown sweater with a white stripe across chest and dark blue jeans. "Oh Hi Larry!" he said. "Hi RF, are you ready to go? Larry asked. "Oh sure, say... Larry, what games should I bring? Operation? Cards? Clue?" Mr. Furley asked while walking to the side table by his sofa to grab a deck of cards. Larry walks up to him. "Uh well... bring them all." "I like how you think!" Mr. Furley says while putting the games into his bag. "Wanna give me a hand?" he adds. Larry tries to lift his bag and fails. "Goodness, what's in here, bricks?" Larry asked. "Oh Larry, don't be such a wimp!" Mr. Furley teases and walks out the door and Larry follows dragging the bag.
Back up in the trio's apartment, Jack exits his bedroom with his luggage. "Girls! Are you ready?" he says as he sets his bag on the sofa. He waits for a response but nothing. He heads to the kitchen and then back out with a box of food and sets it on the sofa. Jack walks to the girl's bedroom and knocks. "Janet, Terri, come on girls! Larry will be here any second now!" He says as he grabs his jean jacket from his desk chair and he puts it on. Then there was familiar knock on the door. "It's open Lar!" Jack yelled from the sofa. Larry walks in. "Furley is in the car, are the girls ready?" he asked. Jack annoyingly looks at him. "What do you think.." he said. "Oh great...well in that case...Are you up for some fun at the cabin?" Larry asked with excitement. "Well isn't that why we're going?" Jack asked as he walked to the girls' door. "Girls! We are going to leave without you! Let's go!" Jack yelled. Janet yells back. "Okay, almost ready!" Larry hurries over to Jack. "Jack I mean, we can prank everyone! Scare them you know?" he says with an evil grin. Terri and Janet walk out with their bags. "Okay, to Big Bear!" Terri says. "Uhh I will tell you the rest when we get there." Larry told Jack. "Tell him the rest of what?" Janet asked. "Oh uh...about his date last night." Jack added. "Yes my date, now let's go!" Larry said. They all hurried out the apartment. ~~~~~
Three hours later, the gang got out of the car after pulling next The Ropers car at the general store. The Ropers got out of their car and joined everyone. "Mrs. Roper!" Janet screams and hugs her! "Oh Hi Janet!" Mrs. Roper says with cheer. Jack tries to give Mr. Roper a hug but he dodges. "Hi Jack." Janet hugs Mr. Roper. Everyone else exchanges hugs. A yellow cab pulls up and Chrissy gets out of the back. "Janet! Jack!" Chrissy shouts while running to attack them both into a group hug. "Oh Chrissy it's so wonderful to see you!" Janet cheerfully says. "We've missed you!" Jack adds. "I've missed you both so much!" Oh! Mrs. Roper!" She says hugging her. "Mr. Roper!" She hugs him. Mr. Furley! Hi!" She hugs him as well. "Hi Larry!" She jumps into his arms quickly. "It's so nice to see everyone!" Chrissy says with her hyper voice. Janet gestures her hand to Terri. "Chrissy this is Terri!" She added. Chrissy holds out her hand for her to shake. "It's nice finally meeting you!" She greeted. "Likewise, I have heard so many great memories about you!" Terri said. Mr. Furley clears his throat. "Can we get to the cabin and eat lunch?" He asked while rubbing his stomach. "Oh yeah, might as well." Jack replied. "Chrissy, you can ride with us and Mr. Furley, would you mind riding with The Ropers?" Janet suggested. Mr. Furley heads to their car. "Fine with me!" He says and gets into the backseat. Everyone loads into the cars and drive off. ~~~~~
Inside the living room of the cabin, (imagine the same cabin in episode "She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not" but the third bedroom is where the closet is, there is no loft and kitchen is part of living room along the wall by the front door) Larry walks in the door and everyone follows. "This is lovely! Let's go pick our room!" Janet says to Chrissy and Terri. The girls leave to the bedroom to the right of the living room. Mrs. Roper walks to the bedroom by the fireplace. "Stanley, here is our bedroom." She says with a flirty stare and walks backwards while gesturing to him to follow with her finger. "Oh brother...Helen not now." Mr. Roper says with an annoyed tone as he follows. Jack sets down the box of food he brought in on the counter. "Mr. Furley you can share our room or sleep on the sofa." Larry said. Mr. Furley starts getting uncomfortable. "Oh Mr. Furley there are separate beds in there...shesh!" Jack quickly adds. "Oh well then, don't you try anything.." Mr. Furley says while bringing his bag into the room. "Let's go grab everything else and I will tell you my plans!" Larry says while patting Jack's back. They leave the cabin. Janet, Chrissy and Terri enter the living room. Janet grabs a bag of chips from the box of food and joins the girls on the sofa. "So Chrissy, did you get that puppy you told us about last month?" Janet asked. "Oh Janet, I did. She's so cute! A black and white collie. I named her Blizzard Snow." Chrissy said following with her snorts. Terri looks at Janet. "I see you were right about her." Terri said. Janet nods and laughs. "What about me?" Chrissy asked. "Oh nothing Chrissy, just your cute laugh, that's all." Janet replied. The girls all laugh while eating chips.
Outside the cabin, Jack and Larry are unloading the trunk and setting bags onto the front porch. "You see Jack, the girls will be spooked. I will sneak out our bedroom window wearing the mask and knock on their window and the front door while you just go along and keep them believing that I am in the bedroom." Larry told him. "Okay but what are you doing in the bedroom?" Jack asked. "Well...say I'm playing cards with RF." Larry said. "Okay, then we have to get RF in on this so he stays in the room." Jack said, shutting the trunk. "Okay, good plan." Mr. Furley walks out onto the porch. "Anyone up for some games?" He asked. "Speaking of, we have a favor to ask!" Jack said, walking up to him and Larry following. "What kind of favor?" Mr. Furley nervously says. "We want to scare everyone but we need your help." Jack said. "Yeah Mr. Furley are you in?" Larry asked. "What do I have to do?" Mr. Furley asked. "Just stay in our bedroom when Larry is out knocking on the door and making strange noises." Jack added. "And what will you be doing Jack?" Mr. Furley asked, folding his arms. "I will be acting normal with the girls, pretending to be scared." Jack said. "But I just stay in the room?" Mr. Furley said. "Right, pretending to play cards with me?" Larry said. "Well that's no fun." Mr. Furley said bummed.
Inside the girls are still catching up on the sofa giggling. "Say.. you guys, why don't we prank the guys?" Terri said quietly. "What a great idea! What should we do?" Chrissy said with excitement. "One of us could go missing?" Janet added. "Where would we go?" Chrissy questioned. "Well nowhere silly, one of us would just be hiding while the other two act as if the other went missing." Janet said. Terri jumped up and said, "Perfect! I also brought fake blood and an arm dummy prop from the hospital that we can just leave somewhere!" "Oh yuck!" Janet says with a shiver. "We should warn Mrs. Roper so she doesn't get frightened" said Chrissy. "Good idea Chrissy!" Janet said while walking to The Roper's bedroom and knocked. Mrs. Roper opens the door. "Yes dear?" she kindly says. "Mrs. Roper, we're going to prank the guys and thought you would want to help us?" Janet told her. "Oh! I like it already! Count me in!" She replies full of excitement.~~~~~
It's 7pm the same night, everyone just finished eating dinner and all the girls start doing the dishes together. Larry standing at their bedroom door. "Pssttt! Jack!" He whispers and gestures him to join him into the room. Jack pats Mr. Furley's shoulder who is sitting next to him and they get up from the sofa and enter bedroom. Larry turns around facing them wearing a scary clown mask. "AHHH! Jack!" Mr. Furley tells and dodges behind Jack frightened. "It's just Larry RF!" Jack said. Mr. Furley steps aside Jack once again. "I knew that, I was just getting into the spooky spirit!" Mr. Furley added then sat down on his bed. "Alright guys, I am going to sneak out the window, go to the front door and bang really loud and run to the side. I will just stay outside for a little while making strange noises. Furley keep the window open and keep me posted on what they are doing." Larry said as he crawls out the window. "Okay Lar, don't over do it or they will catch on to us." Jack said as he headed to the door. "Alright Mr. Furley, I will keep the door cracked so you can hear us." He added giving him a thumbs up. Jack enters the living room finding everyone sitting and enjoying tea and the fire. Jack walks over to Mr. Roper who is poking at the fire, then grabs a log and tosses it carefully onto fire. "Sure is cozy in here huh Mr. Roper?" Jack said. Mr. Roper shoots Jack a glare and puts the fire poker away. "Don't get any ideas Jack!" he said sitting next to Mrs. Roper on the sofa. Jack looks at the girls sitting on the floor around the coffee table and shares his eye roll with them while they all giggle back. "How about you girls, you cozy and enjoying yourselves?" Jack asked. "Of course Jack, this is lovely!" Janet says. "Where are Larry and Mr. Furley?" Chrissy asked. "In the room playing cards, I thought I would join you, Larry is cheating...like usual." Jack said. "Haven't you learned your lesson, never play cards with Larry." Janet said. "Say, did you any of you girls bring a magazine with those quizzes we could take?" Mrs. Roper asked. "Oh yes! I did, I'll get it." Terri said and left to grab it from their room. All of a sudden a loud bang on the front door. Everyone was startled. "What was that?" Chrissy said with worry in her voice. "I don't know but that sure was loud." Janet said. "Loud? I could feel it in my bones!" Mrs. Roper added. "You feel it in your bones when it rains Helen." Mr. Roper said. "Ohhh be quite Stanley, no body asked you." Mrs. Roper replied. "It was probably a bird flying into the door." Jack suggested. "I hope so!" Janet added. "Janet! That's sad!" Chrissy wined. "Chrissy, I mean I would rather it be a bird over some killer or ghost." Janet said frightened. Another few knocks at the door. "Stanley, go see!" Mrs. Roper told him. "Oh sure, make me the first target." Mr. Roper said while walking to door. He opens it and he sees nothing but darkness and very little light from the porch light. Larry runs up to the bedroom window and Mr. Furley gets startled. "Damn Larry, don't do that!" Mr. Furley says. "Sorry RF, are they scared?" Larry asked. "Scared as a scare crow!" Mr. Furley chuckles. Larry shakes his head and runs off. In the living room, Janet is pacing. "Are there other cabins close by, maybe someone needs help?" Janet wondered. Mrs. Roper stands up and walks to Janet and puts her arms around her. "If someone was in need of help they would be shouting for it." Mrs. Roper said. Chrissy stands up from floor. "Why isn't Terri back?" She asked. Mrs. Roper walked towards the bedroom and yelled for her. "Terri!" She walks in and Janet follows her. Moments later they come out worried. "She's not in there!" Janet said in fear. Jack runs into the room to look and comes back out. "How? Where is she?" Jack said and then yelled, "Terri!" He searches his room and runs out. Another bang is at the door. Everyone jumps and huddles together in the center of the room. "Oh what are we going to do?" Chrissy said trembling and hugging Janet. "I think we should call the police." Mrs. Roper said. "Oh Helen let's not get crazy, She probably just stepped out to get some air." Mr. Roper said. "I want to believe that, but we're up in the mountains. She would have said something!" Janet worriedly said. "Okay, we need to calm down. I am sure there is some explanation." Jack suggested. "Oh Janet I am scared." Chrissy told her. Another bang at the door. Jack gets frustrated and rushes to the door. "ALRIGHT! Enough Lar..." Jack stops in the doorway and sees a puddle of blood on the porch right in front of him. He gets scared and slams the door and locks it. He faces everyone with fear on his face and covers his mouth in terror. "We need to call the police!" He says in a panic. Mr. Furley runs out of the bedroom. "What in the devil is going on out here?" Mr. Furley says. Jack nervously says, "I saw blood..." Mr. Furley immediately panics. "BLOOD?" he says as he starts shaking. Jack grabs Mr. Furley's shoulders and faces him. "Where's Larry?" Jack quietly asked. "Uhhh...Jack... he hasn't come to the window in some time, I thought he was just having fun." Mr. Furley said in a whisper. "What! Oh no...no.. no!" Jack panics. "What's the matter Jack?" Janet asked. Jack looked at her in fear. "Larry is missing too!" He said. Janet, Chrissy and Mrs. Roper all look at each other with concern and confusion. The three of them walk into the kitchen area. "What is going on?" Chrissy asked. "Larry is actually missing and now we don't know if Terri is for real!" Janet added about to cry. "What are we going to do?" Mrs. Roper asked. Another extreme bang from the door. The girls run to Jack and Mr. Roper screaming. "Right now is the time to put your fairyness aside and use your man up Jack!" Mr. Roper mentioned. The door knob starts turning and everyone starts backing up towards the fireplace in fear. The door swings open and standing in all black and a clown mask is Larry holding a bloody severed arm. Everyone screams while holding onto each other as Larry walks towards them in suspense. He then takes off the mask and throws the arm down at their feet. "Gotcha!" Larry says with an happy face. Everyone yells, "Larry!" Terri walks in from the door. "Wow, we really got you guys!" Terri added. Larry and Terri high five each other and laugh. Janet throws her hands on her hips. "What!? You planned this?" She said angrily. "Wow, she turned on us!" Mrs. Roper said. "Yeah, you were supposed to be on our side to prank them!" Chrissy added. "Well..." Terri started to say but Jack interrupted. "Wait what?" You were going to prank us? Larry and I were pranking you!" Jack said. "Hey, don't forget, I was in on it." Mr. Furley added. "Wow, well we all wanted a fun Halloween, I'd say this was a success." Mrs. Roper said. "But what about the blood, where did that come from?" Jack asked. "I brought the fake blood and the dummy arm from work. Pretty cool huh?" Terri added. "I ran into Terri outside their bedroom window when she was sneaking out to be missing and we decided to have even more fun." Larry said. "You guys are good!" Chrissy added. "I'd say, I am still shaking." Janet said. "You guys are too much, I am going to bed." Mr. Roper said. "I hear ya, goodnight everyone." Mr. Furley said. They both walked to their rooms. The rest of the gang sat down and laughed about the experience.~~~~~
It's afternoon on the following Monday. Jack, Janet, Terri and Chrissy all enter the apartment carrying their bags and then set them on the floor. Jack heads to the kitchen. The girls all go sit down on the sofa. "What a long drive." Janet said with a yawn. "I don't think we could have had a better Halloween!" Terri said. "I agree, I am so glad I came to visit!" Chrissy said. Jack walks in with a tray of plates of lasagna and garlic bread. "Leftovers anyone?" Jack said holding out the tray. The girls grab a plate & start eating. "I still can't believe Larry & I scared you all!" Terri said. "Ya, we get it, you're proud!" Jack said. "Are you embarrassed that you were scared Jack?" Janet asked. "Me? Nooooooooooooo!" He says in is signature tone. "I'm just still waiting for my heart to come back into my chest!" He joked. They all laughed. They continue eating & laughing over their Halloween weekend. ~~~~~
