"Hmm... Maybe I didn't just get maliciously killed and devoured?... But if so... then where the hell am I?" A voice said, looking around the barely lit room.
Nothing was in it, but it still felt full. He couldn't quite place why until a man appeared in front of him, sitting on a golden throne with a small shiny orb in his hands.
"Uh… Hello?" The voice asked just as a new voice filled his ears.
-Character has been Selected, Proceeding with Soul implantation-
With this, his surroundings changed in an instant.
(1st Pov from now on)
"Oh Great One, Thank you for blessing me with your presence! Please My Lord Please save my garden... What is your price?"
These were the words of the person in front of me, kneeling at my feet.
I looked around, turning away from the man for a few moments, though maybe it was a mistake.
"My God, please! What have I done to be forsaken by you?! I beg for your forgiveness! Please save my village from the plague! I'll give you my wife, daughter, and all my land! Anything to be rid of the plague"
This annoying guy, why does he keep asking for me to help his village?
-As The Future Supreme being of this world it is your job to care for it and protect it from the other beings in the multiverse, to perish means the death of this world, and vice versa; Otherwise do whatever you desire. In this world gods exist, and they are usually summoned/created to help the wishes of mortals; Good Luck-
With the voice seemingly gone, I realized what it had said.
Hmm, that sounds a lot like the world of Norigami, I watched that anime simply for Bishamon before I died, unfortunately I don't remember much of what happened. What I do remember though is that Bishamon is hot.
Anyway, my assignment here is to do whatever I want, so long as I get strong. Hmm... there was also a message about something else...
Ah right, my abilities. I received a basic rundown of my power and position in this world.
I am a god here, the first god in fact. I'm not sure when others will start appearing, but I'm the first. With this, I was named The God Of Origin and given the power of Origin.
It basically gave me the power to do five different things.
One: I can create pretty much anything so long as I have the materials necessary to create it within a 10-foot radius, I'm also able to make my own things with random materials in hopes of something working...
Two: I have the ability to set rules. This was a confusing one, but basically, if they haven't been set yet I can create rules of the world or object. Like gravity, it's a set thing, but had I been here at the beginning of time then I could easily make gravity do something else... Like float instead of push down...
Three: I can bring people back from the dead. Not as zombies but as real live people. This was a strong ability for sure, and it was even better because the people I bring back from the dead would be 100% loyal to me as their master, a pretty good ability if I do say so myself.
Four: I am able to use magic without much effort, basically magic bent itself to my will. Nothing complicated though, really just rough spells like throwing mana or shaping it into something... But if I learned actual spells I would easily be the best magician... god? god magician?
And finally... The fifth. This one was the strongest, most dangerous ability I had. I can grasp someone's Origin. I can tear it apart, change it into something else. I can basically change their entire personality if I wanted. Though it did have some restrictions since if someone was strong enough they could fight against it.
This was only truly dangerous because it could even work on beings higher than me, a wild card I suppose.
"Uh... Great and Mighty One?" The man, still kneeling, turned his head up toward me. I nearly forgot about him... He wanted me to help some random village right?... All for the price of his wife and kids... Sounds good to me.
"Come my follower, lead your god to your village..." I said kindly helping him up. Become the god of this world? Of course, I would... The easiest way to power is through the worship of your followers.
Hmm... What was my name again... Oh well.
"My Son... What is your name... Also what is my name," I asked in the wisest sounding voice I could. My appearance was that of a young adult, barely reaching past 21 years I'd assume.
How did I know that? Well, I simply kept my old appearance from my first life... which isn't important.
"Ack! I'm so sorry my god! Please forgive, My name is Adam of Eden, and you are my god Gen," Adam bowed as he told me this.
Gen... not sure why that's my name but whatever, but wait just a second... Adam of Eden? Like the Bible?
I am actually a believer... Or well I was before getting cut piece by piece and eaten by my girlfriend. Time flows differently in whatever dimension I was in before. He said I was nearly 3 thousand years old now... Wild.
"Adam... Well, how many people are in you-" Before I could finish my question I saw it. The most beautiful place I'd ever seen... The grandest garden I ever will see...
Eden.
I want it... Man, I've never wanted something more in my two lives...
"Adam!" This was something I had noticed but didn't point out, I mean if you want to be nude then be nude, I'm certainly not going to stop you. Though I finally understood something when the white-haired woman ran down, her modest tits bouncing up and down with each step.
"Eve!"
Yes, this is it. The Bible, Adam and Eve. It made sense that in a world of gods and demons that they might have existed.
Wait a second... My reward for helping his "Village" which is just The Garden of Eden, was his wife, daughter, and land?... This smoking hot woman in front of me was mine the second I finished this?... Oh hell yes.
Hmm... There are going to be gods, right? Then I'll set this rule for them. For them to complete a service, they must be paid.
This will give me the incentive to help my old race, puny bastards.
"Adam, who is this?" Eve, the cute little thing, asked hiding behind Adam with a slightly scared look in her eyes.
Adam ignored her fear though and dragged her back from behind him, making her bow her head as he answered.
"This is our promised god, the serpent lied," With these words, Eve widened her eyes and looked at me in awe.
Seems I've gained another follower... You know...
Rule Set, The more Followers/Believers a god has the stronger they will be. This will help me get strong right?...
The more followers I gain the stronger I'll get... It's just so nice having this much power. I'm basically shitting on those fanfics I used to read when I was younger. All those ones where they would get powers and slowly get stronger, I had basically said fuck that.
Though I needed to learn how to use my powers better, I was still basically the strongest right now right? No other gods; I use this term loosely since I'm pretty sure there's only one, have been born yet.
Hmm… I just remembered, one of the rules of the show was that gods were born from wishes… I should set that in stone just in case, wouldn't want random gods spawning out of nowhere extremely overpowered like me now would I?
Rule Set: Gods are summoned and defined by the wish that brings them.
There we go, This power is pretty easy... But I doubt It'll be useful for long. I assume I will live forever, unless I'm killed or something; So rules will continue to be set by the will of the world, like Gravity is.
So I might as well use and abuse this power as much as I can.
"Now... Adam... what is wrong with the garden?" I asked, moving on to the reason I was here in the first place, the reward.
Assuming Adam didn't have another wife, I would get Eve, his daughter; whoever that may be, and his land. I am assuming Eden is what he referred to when he said this... Which means I help them and I get Eden.
"Ah yes... The serpent," Adam immediately kneeled, "He's poisoning the garden! Killing animals! He even made my sons go against each other... Please my god I offer everything I have."
These words... so full of conviction, So heartwarming; It almost made me want to help him... But he was lying.
I realized this just now, Adam is lying. Hahaha, do gods have a built in lie detector or something? Or maybe I'm just that good, but no, he's lying.
I'm not sure why it took so long, but Adam's origin, his spirit you could say; It's tainted beyond belief. I feel sick just looking at it.
I think I remember now though. In the Noragami world there were demon type things, dark phantoms? I don't know, but they were spawned by dark thoughts or negative emotions, allowing them access to curse the world.
The world here is barely beginning, so there is only one way these phantoms are here, Negative thoughts and/or emotions. Adam seems to be the culprit. I am assuming a phantom is the cause for the plague or whatever Adam had mentioned earlier.
I guess once I help he's planning on getting rid of me somehow? Perhaps turning me into some kind of wish granting slave?
The power of gods is unique and should never be abused. As the first god, I'll rid this world of it's early filth. Adam wasn't a believer. No he was a deceiver. I'm 90% sure he's in cahoots with whatever serpent he wants me to destroy.
Maybe because I'm a god now, or maybe because I already feel as if I am being used, Adam's actions are really pissing me off. How dare this mortal, Okay that was a bit much... How dare this bastard try and use me!
"I see Adam. There is one problem though, I have no weapon."
I tried to change it, see if the rule was set; it is. I need a regalia to kill these dark phantoms. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be many souls around here.
And yes, I can see souls, what kind of god would I be if I couldn't? That's not the point though. I need a soul to create a regalia, and it needs to be untainted, the phantoms taint them rather quickly...
"I-I see... What should we do my god?"
I smiled at Adam's words before turning to the still awed Eve. She was such a cute little thing, and a look was all I needed to know she wasn't in on this with Adam and... I assume the serpent?
"Eve, I need you to do something for me... Become mine."
The air stilled as Eve died, I didn't make it hurt, that was needless and cruel. As her pale body dropped to the ground I saw her shining white soul pop out.
"Eve!" Adam cried jumping up toward her dead body as I grasped her soul.
"I'll take care of you... You can trust in your god," I said with a kind and caring smile, the soul letting out a blinding light.
"Well... That's interesting," The way the regalia worked was simple, you get a soul and have it agree to be your regalia. It may do so out of fear, obedience, or even love, it doesn't matter which. Then, after it's in your palms you name it, a normal name and a soul name; Names are really important in this world...
With this the soul will transform into a regalia, becoming what it needs to to protect and serve it's god.
A sword, a flaming sword. That's what Eve had turned herself into.
"You!" Adam roared, the darkness getting stronger as a huge serpent appeared behind him. I see now;The serpent is the phantom, it is using Adam as a source to continue to get stronger and grow bigger.
"Calm down Adam, your emotio-"
Before I could say anything the serpent lashed out at me. It was clear it felt threatened, obviously it had never thought something like me would appear, sorry Mr. Serpent but this is my world you know? Can't have you here to darken it up after all.
"I keep your past name, Eve, and your new name, Esis, the name carved into your soul, my first regalia... Banish the darkness, straight to hell," A silly chant yes, but unfortunately Eve didn't actually remember any of the stuff that had happened.
To try and remember would be to go against me, which would hurt my feelings; but remembering everything could cause negative emotions to erupt from her; Then she could even become a phantom which would in turn hurt me. I'll treat her right so this doesn't happen; but should it happen I'll get rid of her quickly, I'm not an idiot like Yato, I wouldn't risk my life for someone who is already dead, or someone who had already betrayed me.
Eve slashed through the serpent, causing it to burst into a dark cloud before dispersing and leaving a very confused Adam behind. Eve seemed to be strong, I'm glad I killed her... In the best way possible.
Adam would most likely remember the events, including Eve dying. This would be a problem, humans are too prone to negative emotions, he could easily cause another phantom to slip through.
"I am deeply sorry Adam, but this is the only way..." I killed two different people in one day, and I don't feel the slightest thing... I guess I'm not a nice god huh?

It took a few hours for the Garden to be filled with life again. The fruit looked ripe and the flowers were beautiful, oh and Eve's naked body was a nice touch to the spring.
I explained to the reborn Eve her purpose, thank goodness my murder had set her spirit free from her body. I also set rules for the gods of the future, as well as the humans. Humans will no longer be able to see the phantoms nor gods unless they are either out of touch with reality, a special human I suppose you can say, or crazy ones. Or if they are a follower/believer of a god.
This will lessen my future headaches and give me less things to worry about, especially since the phantoms can't really affect the world unless a human has negative emotions.
Eve doesn't remember much, but she is obedient. I went to Adam's home and explained to the one called Cain, who was chained up against the wall, that his father was dead.
I also finally met my new maid. A cute girl with white hair just like her mother. Did I say maid? I meant follower... Nah Maid. I had already started getting ready to train her.
Now Eden was mine, a good place to settle if I do say so myself, as for Cain? Well I can't have some random bastard trying to take over, plus he's almost as tainted as Adam, a phantom waiting to happen, so I killed him gone, poof.
So yes, Eden is now my property and I can live a good life with my regalia and my soon to be maid. No need to become the supreme god when I have these-

Okay, what the hell is this thing anyway? My conscience? Nah it would be different if it was… But there are other strong beings? What's that supposed to mean?

Great, Thanks for the help conciesence; Well, now that I know there are already strong bastards around I'll need to be more careful with my actions. Especially my rule setting...
5 Rules, So that means there are 5 strong beings on that level? No matter, I will destroy them one by one to assert my control of this world; Just as 001 wants me to. Ugh, pretty sure thinking that just made me sick.
Who is 001 you might ask? A being… Much higher than me, and also the entire reason I'm here. It may have only been for a few seconds, but I already know he's unbeatable, at least for now.
"Are you okay Sir?" Ah yes, I guess while I was thinking my body was on Auto-pilot. Eve has fully accepted her place; I've already started training her daughter, and things are all around peaceful in the garden.
In a few minutes I missed nearly 2 days of time in this world; What a bullshit time difference.
Though... I do like the sir, you know what, I need to unwind.
"Actually no Eve, unfortunately I'm not okay right now, but there is something you can do to help." I said with a small smile as the sunset on Eden, leaving this side of the world just as the spring water lit up, a good setting for what I wanted to do to my new little servant...
Well, that's the first chapter, hope you enjoyed it. Also yes, Gen(Mc's name, won't hear it much) is in the very beginning... at least for the humans. He'll go through many different mythologies and historical events before canon, just a heads up.
