The Turbulent Life of Stan Carter Part 1: Childhood
Stanley Russell Carter was born on September 15th, 2003 in Compton, California. He has a mother named Natalie Carter and his father is Wesley Carter. His parents were selling drugs in order to pay off their bills in their house due to the fact that they can't afford a car which means they are unable to get to any jobs. Fortunately for them, a couple of convenience stores were a walking distance away from their house so they are good on the groceries. Natalie was pregnant for 5 months now until the baby was getting ready to come out. Since they didn't have the transportation to get to the hospital on time, Wesley had to think fast by going into the house and grabbing a couple of blankets as he carries her pregnant wife to the couch slowly. He has no experience whatsoever but he had to try for his wife. "Push, Natalie! Push!" he shouted as she did as she was told. The process took no more than 30 minutes but then the baby was out of his mother and is crying. Natalie smiles at the newborn child and said, "It's a boy and he looks beautiful. He kind of looks like you Wesley." her husband just chuckled as she said that. He then said, "Well I do say he does have my eyes and ears. But he does have your nose." His wife just smiled and kissed his cheek as she held up her baby high in the air just like Rafiki did baby Simba in "The Lion King."
"I'm gonna call him Stanley." said Natalie. The baby cried when he heard that. "Hmm. I think we should call him just Stan instead." said Wesley. The baby cooed happily at that. "Well, I'm still going to have them put his full name on his birth certificate. Stanley Russell Carter. I'll give him Russell as a middle name which is my dad's first name." Wesley nodded to his wife in agreement as it is now official. Stan Carter has been brought into the world. Fast forward a bit and Stan is now 5 years old. He is riding around the hood on his tricycle that his dad bought for him as he encounters some kids that are a bit older than him and they surrounded him with smirks on their faces. One of them said, "Whatcha got there, shrimp?" Stan responded by saying, "A tricycle. My dad gave it to me on my birthday." Another boy said. "You wouldn't mind if we take it off your hands would ya?" "Uh actually I do. It is my bike after all." They didn't want to hear it as one of them shoved him off, start kicking him on the ground, and then take off with his tricycle. Stan has just been jumped and robbed at 5 years old. He then gets up slowly as he is bruised in certain areas of his small body. He sighs sadly and slowly walks home.
His parents left the door unlocked so he can come in since he's not old enough to have a house key yet. Wesley is out on the streets selling dope as Natalie ran up to him picking up her young child instantly in tears as she hugged him tight asking multiple questions. "What happened to you? Did you fall down the stairs? Any open wounds? Do I need to take you to the hospital?" He finally stopped her by saying, "I'm fine mom. I just need to lay down before dad comes home for dinner." Natalie nodded her head in agreement as she puts him down and he went to his room plopping on the bed sighing of relief as he didn't want to tell her that his trike was stolen by older kids. An hour later, Wesley came home with some groceries in his hands as he did have the money to afford 2 weeks' worth since the drugs, he sold were valuable. "Stan, I'm home! Come here so you can see your old man!" he shouted as the young boy went up to his father slowly. "Uh, what happened to you sport?" Stan looked at his mother to make sure she was listening also. "Well. Uh... I got beat by some random kids and they took my trike." Wesley looked at him with a shocked look on his face. He then said, "They did what?! Oh Hell no. No one steals from our boy." Wesley was determined to find the kids and fight them then retrieve the trike but he immediately clears that out of his mind and tells Stan, "Look son, I'm not gonna fight those kids for you. You have to learn to fend for yourself. When you grow and live on your own, you have to fight your own battles only ask for help if the fight is too hard to win by yourself. How many kids were there anyway?" "I think three. Yeah. It was three of them." "Then I believe that's a fight you can win with another person. Unless you have the confidence to do it on your own.
Stan thought about it for a few seconds as he wanted to make sure that he actually wanted to do it for his stolen tricycle. Of course. That trike was important to him as he is way too young to have a car. He then tells Wesley, I'm gonna do it on my own dad. I'm gonna beat the crap outta 'em and then get my trike back." "That's my boy. But you gotta do it tomorrow though. It's getting late so you need to eat dinner and then go to bed." Natalie has already set the table while they were having a conversation so they just sat at the table, say their prayers and then started eating. Natalie cooked pork chops with peas and mashed potatoes as her boys had no problem gobbling it up. After they finished their dinner, Stan went to get ready for bed as he puts on his pajamas but before he fell asleep, he popped in a film in his DVD player. The film included various street fights in the hood as Stan watched and studied most of the moves. After the film was over, Stan felt sleepy and he went right to sleep in his bed. The next morning, he wakes up stretching as he gets ready for the day ahead of him. He puts on a yellow shirt, blue jeans, and blue sneakers. He walks into the kitchen to greet his parents as they already have a breakfast prepared for him. It was a cheese omelet with orange juice and a banana. He eats his breakfast and goes to the towards the door but his stops him by saying, "Wait, son. Aren't you gonna get a weapon?" Stan responded by saying, "I don't need one. I can handle this with my own 2 hands." His father gave him the "I'm proud of you" look as he walks out the door and sets off to get revenge on those kids.
He walked for no more than 15 minutes until he finally sees them walking up to him while one of them is riding his trike. As soon as they see Stan, they quickly surround him so he has nowhere to go. "Well, well, well. Look who came back for another ass kicking." One of them said as they all crack their knuckles at him. Stan was not afraid of them at all. He said to them, "Nah. I'm kicking your ass along with all your other buds too." "Hahaha. Don't make us laugh squirt." And so, they started throwing punches at him but because of all the film studying he did last night, he was able to dodge all of their blows. "No way. We didn't even lay one finger on you." They had a worried look on their faces but this gave Stan an advantage as he lands punches along with a few kicks on them. "Eat dirt scumbags." He is allowed to say certain swear words that aren't too inappropriate but he isn't old enough to tell them all yet. He beats the crap out of them and stands over them to clinch his victory. "Take my trike again, you're gonna be asking for a whole lot of trouble. You got that?!" he shouted as his voice intimidated them causing them to leave the trike and run away crying to their mothers. Stan grabs his trike and bikes home as he has won his first fight unscathed.
Years have passed and Stan has gotten better at fighting with each year he got older. He has officially become a professional street fighter despite his young age. Fast forward some more and Stan is now 11 years old. He is no longer on a tricycle as he has gotten an upgrade: a BMX bike. His hair has grown a little longer because he does not want to get a haircut even though his mom wants him to do so. He is riding down the street without any safety gear because he claims that he doesn't need it and can ride a bike like a pro. He rides down to the corner store which is not too far from his house as he is tasked to get a few things from there as requested by Natalie. After he gets what he is told, he rides back to the house as he goes inside and to put the food away. Little did he know was that he's actually the only person home because his parents haven't come home from selling drugs yet. A few minutes later, he heard gunshots and plenty of them as his Wesley and Natalie came home bleeding a lot and struggling with their balance. Stan ran up to them quickly and asked, "What happened to you guys?" Unfortunately, they were unable to respond due to the internal bleeding in their chest, neck, and parts of the head. They both hug them slowly as both of his parents close their eyes and died right in front of him. Stan could do nothing but mourn the loss of his guardians. He was determined to find the people that did this to them.
Fortunately, he had the strength to put them in body bags but was unable to bury them at the cemetery due to lack of transportation. He decides to self-cremate his parents by lighting them on fire. He immediately puts it out with a few big buckets of water as he places their ashes in a vase that has his grandparents' ashes already in it. He did this so they can be together in the afterlife causing a tear to shed under his eye. After he put the vase next to his bed on his dresser, he grabbed his father's desert eagle and filled it with ammo as he was confident enough to find the person that took his parents' life. He tucks the weapon in his pocket and puts his shirt over it so he won't be caught by anyone. He goes outside and ride his bike around the neighborhood asking various people that look very suspicious to him. Eventually, he did find his suspect or suspects because they looked awfully familiar. It was the kids that he beat up in his early years but a little bit older than him. They saw him and smirk as they aim their guns at him causing him to stop at his tracks and get off the bike. Stan puts his hands in the air so they can see them. The leader of the group said, "Well well well. Look who came back to avenge his parents' deaths. Too bad you're gonna fail scrub." He aimed the gun right up to his forehead.
Thinking that this could be the end for him, Stan kicked him in the private and smacked the gun right outta his hand. The others tried to shoot but he used his fast reflexes to perform karate like moves and knock them all to the ground as they arer all in serious pain. The leader hits him with a right hook as he goes after his gun but not before Stan pulled out his and shot him in both knees. Before anyone else got up, he shot them multiple times until they were internally bleeding to death. He then goes up to the leader kicking him in the stomach hard causing him to cough up some blood. Stan points the desert eagle at him and he says, "This isn't just for me. This is also for my parents you ungrateful piece of trash." He fires away shooting him multiple times in the head and chest as he dies instantly from the gunshot wounds. Stan quickly gets on his bike to flee the scene and go home before any cops arrived leaving the bodies there. He gets inside, shuts the door, and locks the door immediately breathing heavily as he had just committed a crime that would get him life in prison. He had to keep a low profile until this whole situation clears up.
A few years later, the case remains unsolved which is a relief for him but with his parents gone, Stan had to take care of himself. He uses the drugs they had leftover to sell and whenever he ran out, he looked up how to make more on the Internet. He used some of the money to buy a big wagon so he can carry groceries in it. This wouldn't last long though as he was running low on money and he couldn't afford the ingredients to make more drugs. There was a knock on the door as he grabbed as stool to use to reach the peep hole. He looked in it and saw that it was the police. His heart dropped when he saw and he didn't know what to do. They knock on the door again leaving him no other option but to answer. He opened the door slowly and said to them, "Hey officers. What can I do for you?" One of them asked, "Is this your house? Because if it is. then we're gonna have to ask you to pack your belongings and come with us to the orphanage. We can't have a child be by themselves without a parent or guardian." "Well, my parents were killed so I guess I have no other choice. I'll be ready in a bit." He shuts the door and starts to pack everything from his room in various bags and suit cases. He then puts the food he had left from the fridge into storage bags so it's not gonna be able to get spoiled. He grabs the vase that had the ashes in it, all the pictures, including a mugshot from the one time they were behind and a necklace he decided to put on. It belonged to Natalie as he then puts on Wesley's chain. He grabbed as much as he could as he went to the police car and packed up his things. After he was finished he locks the door with his house key and got in the back of the police car as they drive to the orphanage.
During the car ride, Stan thought about his parents and how much he misses them as he had flashbacks of how much fun they had together as a family even though half of the moments involved them behind bars. These moments put a smile on his face but tears in his eyes because his parents hurt a lot. Especially when they died before he became a teenager. He thought about these happy thoughts until they arrived at the orphanage. They all get out as the officers helped Stan with his belongings. They go inside to check in as he filled out the required paperwork then signed it. After that, they showed him to his room and he unpacked the stuff he needed to get through the week as he puts on his PJs to get ready for bed. He brushed his teeth and laid down getting under the covers as it was getting late. He closed his eyes and continued to think about his parents as he eventually went to sleep.
The End
