It was still so new to him, he raised his right hand in the air as he laid on the bed the rosswaal manor provided for him.
It's been at least a year since Subaru had moved into the manor and fought sloth, and saved the demi humans from the evil taking place in the sanctuary and even stopped the attack on the mansion saving Beatrice in the process.
A month had passed from the events of the sanctuary and Subaru had not thought much of it, much of the seal that appeared itself on his hand.
The darken red rose with several thorns sticking out was pleasantly beautiful to the eye like it had a tragic love to it, but something about it felt off. Subaru scratched his hand in frustration.
"Ahhh- why wont this come off!?"
"Uhh- Barusu instead of scratching your paw like a dog please hurry and pack up before we leave and head to Prestella."
"Oh! Sorry Ram-sama."
Ram, who was in the room with him doing her daily task, gave a hmp at Subaru as she left the room. Subaru watched as she left, giving her an awkward smile before stretching.
Subaru got up from his bed gathering minor things to take with him.
After beating the assassins and relocating to another mansion, Emilia, one of the candidates for the throne and as well as the same person Subaru was binded to, got an invitation by another candidate to come to Prestella.
Prestella was said to be a beautiful water city, similar to that of a tourist attraction people would visit back in his original world. Almost like the Bahamas since they were similar in style. Water this and water that, they both are beautiful with their water aspects.
Subaru grabbed his things and put them in a tiny bag which consisted of a toothbrush, 5 different outfits, and his trusty whip he learned how to use during his time of peace at the manor. The thought of another threat attacking and Subaru being useless scared him to the point of having nightmares of his own death.
He had to do something besides laze around his room being a shut-in.
But learning the whip was not all he did since-
"Subaru, what took you so long? If I knew you were going to be this late I would've dragged you out myself I suppose."
The little girl with creamy blonde hair and cute butterfly shaped pupils was no other than Beatrice, his contracted spirit. Besides learning the whip Subaru would often spend his time with Beatirce learning new spirit arts or just to annoy her, sometimes Beatrice and Subaru would sleep in the same bed to the point where Beatrice just moved in with him.
Subaru looked at Beatrice and smiled, he placed his hand on Beatrice's head and gave her a reassuring look.
"Sorry Beako, I was just lazing around in my room, please don't be too hard on me."
"Whatever, I suppose. Just hurry up and go to the carriage before that rabid dog comes and gets you."
Beatrice was referring to Garfiel when she said rabid dog. Since that's pretty much the only thing to describe him.
"Okay, okay. I'm going now, so stop hitting me, haha. Let's go!"
"You're so mean I suppose! Now put me down! Nyahh!"
Subaru pinched Beatrice's cheeks and carried her on his shoulders leaving Beatrice defenseless. Beatrice attempted to rebuttal by attacking Suabru back to no avail.
She eventually gave up.
The carriage Subaru came upon was huge, the outer layer looked like it belonged in a museum and the ground dragons in the front, which was only Patrasche had a saddle filled with gold and leather tied to her. Ground dragons were a transportanting animal so Subaru didn't think much of it since there was only one.
Ground dragons were ridiculously strong after all, they could carry the weight of 100 men, Subaru thought.
"Oi Captain! What's takin ye so long? We already packed everything in thee trunk, if you don't hurry we'll leave ya stuff behind!"
"Seems like the rabid dog is the same as ever, I suppose."
"Oi what's that supposed to mean, picking fights?"
"Calm down you two!"
"Hmp!"
"Yerrr!"
"What's gotten into you Beako, and you to Garf!"
Beatrice and Garfiel looked away from each other, Subaru sighed and let it go, for now.
"Anyway, do you know where Emilia is?"
"Oi sorry but the princess is in another castle. She is in the carriage."
"Ok, as a reward I'll leave Beako in your care. Have fun and get along."
"Eh!"
Subaru dropped Beatrice off his shoulders and left her with garfield. Beatrice tried to chase after Subaru but failed and fell straight on her face. Subaru felt guilty but he knew if left unchecked Beatrice would never open up or apologize for anything, so it was the best choice in the matter.
Once Subaru made it to the back of the carriage he slightly opened the curtain just a little so only he could fit inside. A girl with silver hair and long pale elf ears was seated on the edge of her seat with perfect posture playing with the tips of her hair until she caught a glimpse at Subaru.
"Oh Subaru, I didn't see you there."
"Hey Emilia-san how's everything been."
"Geez Subaru I just saw you and you're already asking how it's been."
"I just wanted to know how my Emilia-tan has been, oops."
"Subaru you're such a dunderhead."
"Sorry Emilia-tan."
Emilia pouted her cheeks in a cute way causing Subaru's heart to flutter from the event.
"Anyway, Emilia, I wanted to ask if you had any progress about this."
Subaru raised his right hand in the air so Emilia could get a better look.
The red rose on his hand was the most beautiful seal he had ever seen, better than all the tattoos he would see people with back in his old world. Emilia looked at his hand and frowned causing Subaru to grow uneasy.
"Sorry Subaru, I tried everything but nobody knew about it, even Beatrice. The mana it gives off is pretty strange though. It's not like anything I've ever seen before."
It was strange that this seal appeared. Subaru just woke up one day and it was there, and the worst thing was that nobody knew anything, not even rosswaal or Beatrice could figure it out.
First they thought it was a curse but Beatrice said a curse would have more of a dark mana feel to it, but the seal on Subaru hand had neither a good or bad mana feel.
"That's strange. What do you think of it, Emilia?"
"Hmm, if I were to say anything about it, then maybe it is a contract, but contacts don't take form like that."
"Maybe it's because I'm just a cool dude."
"Haha, super Subaru, I like it."
"That's just like you Emilia, to add Super before my name, makes me feel special."
"Umm, I don't want to intrude on Mr Natsuki-san but we are all watching."
Subaru looked at the entrance of the carriage and caught an otto awkwardly smiling at the two as well as an angry Garfiel and Beatrice who were facing away from each other with their arms crossed.
Ram was too busy lifting Rem in the carriage to even care, and the rest just sat peacefully on their seats.
"I guess it's time to get going."
"Hmp, I suppose."
"Oi save the front for me!"
"Ow, Garfiel stop pushing me!"
"Move aside, I suppose."
"And we're off."
The carriage took off and the gang were all sitting inside the carriage all besides Rosswaal, Petra, and frederica who stayed behind to take care of other business, but little did they know that they were going to encounter something much more than a little fun.
Standing far away watching the carriage go by, A figure anchored their sword in the ground and stood in the shadows wearing armor of silver and red with a sword made of the heavens.
"Master, I'll see you soon."

Thank you guys for reading my prologue to my newest fic. I really appreciate the people who stood by me and supported my other works and yes I will be returning and adding new chapters to those fics so don't worry if you thought I dropped them. I just didn't have the time to work on it but now that I'm free and have all the time in the world so that's nice. I got this idea from playing Fate/grand order for a little while and wondered how easy arc 5 would be if Subaru had a servant to help him and what if the other archbishops had servants of their own and had their very own Re:Zero holy grail war. Thanks for reading and I'm pretty sure ya'll already know what servant Subaru has summoned. The only thing I would say was hard when writing this first chapter were probably the characters. Garfiel was THE hardest thing to write since his dialogue is so hard to write and Emilia is so innocent and cute it's kind of difficult to implement that, but I'll figure something out for future chapters.
Just for fun and giggles, the first person in the comments who correctly guesses what servant Subaru summoned will get a cameo in the next chapter!
