AN: Hey all hope you enjoy! All the reviews and story hits have blown me away over this last year. Thank you so much!

"Come on Leslie look at you you're doing so good sitting up… And you fell over." Stella Kidd-Severide cheered before watching her seven-month-old plop over on her side.

"Baby fall." Emmy Halstead looked up at her mom. Hailey smiled down at her two year old daughter.

"Yeah Emmy, Leslie is learning how to sit up so she's going to fall. You fell too when you were learning."

"So glad it didn't rain like they said it would." Stella commented feeling the sun on her face.

"I know any time I get to use my backyard on a day off I'm happy. Letting the kids run free back here is part of the reason I feel in love with this house."

Stella and Hailey's friendship had started one night when Stella was pregnant and Jay and Hailey had been enjoying a date night at Molly's

"So Stella you enjoying pregnancy yet?" Hermann asked while they were behind the bar.

"No now I've hit the point where I'm starting to freak out. I mean how do you stop the little baby socks from just completely disappearing in the washing machine?"

"Really the baby socks are your first concern?" Hermann asked.

Stella gestured with her fingers. "They're so tiny."

"Delicates laundry bag." Hailey responded while sipping her beer.

"What?"

"Those bags they sell for washing your bras. Just put all the socks and mittens in that and they won't disappear on you."

"That's brilliant."

"Seriously socks?" Hermann said.

"Come on Hermann you have five kids don't you know some things just don't ask questions." Jay joke and then hooked his thumb to point at Hailey. "It's June and she already has the kids Halloween costumes picked out."

"Yes I do because I love Halloween. They are going to be little brown bears. I found the cutest costume and I'm going to order them when summer is over so I have a better idea on sizing but before they sell out. Oh also Stella if you get one of those command hooks from the hardware store you can stick it on the back of the highchair and store bibs on it."

"Hailey could we like meet up for coffee one day and I pick your brain about mom stuff?"

"If you don't mind coming over to our house then yeah absolutely." Hailey then shifted her focus to Jay and showed him a link on her phone. "Also smart ass, look how adorable this costume is."

"Ok yeah that's really cute buy it for them."

A year later and Hailey and Stella each considered the other one of their best friends. Both were excited to have found a mom friend not only close to them in age but kids close enough in age also to hopefully be friends.

"You ok over there Jay?"

Jay plopped down on the blanket next to Hailey. "Danny is really fast for a four year old." Jay had been chasing his and Hailey's four-year-old around playing tag. Danny sat down next to his mom on the blanket. She handed him his water bottle and some grapes.

"No, you're just getting old." Hailey joked as she handed Jay his water bottle.

"You see how she treats me?" Jay responded looking at Stella with puppy dog eyes. He then switched his attention back to his wife. "You know I'm still in good shape."

"Yes you are."

"Last detail I had to work I was told I was damn sexy."

Hailey arched an eyebrow and looked at him. "Wasn't the last detail we worked pride?"
He shrugged his shoulders. "Compliment is still a compliment. I would prefer if said compliment came from my wife but if it's from a nice gentleman in a rainbow sequin thong than so be it."

"You trying to make me jealous?"

Jay smirked at her. "That depends, is it working?"

"I mean you were working with Kevin you sure it wasn't aimed at him?"

At this point Stella was almost howling with laughter at watching her best friend and said bestie's husband bantering. "Jay." She managed through the laughter. "I brought iced coffee you want some? Caramel flavored Hailey's favorite"

"Yes please." He responded as Stella poured him some from the bottle into a cup.

Emmy Halstead was immune to the adults' conversation because she had been watching a butterfly that kept fluttering near the blanket. When it landed she got very excited.

Hailey immediately saw what her daughter did. "Emmy, look the butterfly landed on Daddy."

Jay sat absolutely still in order to not startle the bug on the back of his hand. Emmy sucked in a breath and looked in complete wonder at her father and the butterfly.

"Daddy lucky. "

Jay smiled at that. "You think Daddy is lucky because the butterfly landed on him?"

"Yeah." The two year old nodded in wonderment as she watched the orange and black butterfly. "It pretty."

"Not as pretty as you or Mommy, baby girl."

"Nice." Hailey said. At that moment Leslie lunged at the butterfly and flew away.

"Bye bye Butterfly." Danny said and waved as it took off. Hailey laughed and kissed her little boy on the head.

"Aww bye." Emmy pouted.

"It's ok Emmy there will be more butterflies." Hailey said to reassure her daughter.

"Promise?" Emmy asked her eyes wide.

"Promise."

AN: This is the part where I shamelessly ask for reviews. Reviews help me write more so please? So who still isn't completely over that season finale? Not how I imagined an Upstead proposal but I still screamed haha. (If you want to read how I imagined it go check out my one shot Cabin Vacation. It's another ball of fluff like these.)

Also the delicate bag and the hook on the high chair have been the two favorite mom hacks I've been given so I figured I would write them in.

Finally the Damn sexy comment may or may not be a true story that happened to my husband (whose also a first responder)
