"No! No! No! No! Nooooooooo!"

Her horrified screams echoed unceasingly through the castle. The only sound she could hear amidst the endless pounding in her head. The sight of her father's blood stained clothes, and his eerie smile, seared into her mind.

Roland had immediately confined her to her room. Claiming she was in a fit of hysterics, and indeed she was. But then again, so would anyone had they just learned that their lover had been brutalized to death.

Guards had been placed to keep watch over her prison. But they were no match for a princess blessed with magical powers.

No...She wasn't a princess... Not any more...

Easily, she snuck passed them. Even evading the watchmen who had been sent to keep vigil at Cedric's tower, lest she take refuge there. Entering his hidden library, and retrieving tomes containing instructions in arts previously forbidden to her, before disappearing into the night.

She wasted no time in seeking out her treasure. Knowing a search party would be after her the moment her family noticed her absence.

But she wouldn't be going back to that world...

A spell softly spoken guided her down the right path. She knew given the cruel manner of his unjust execution that it would be difficult to obtain all the pieces, but she was determined not to stop searching until she found all of him.

At last the glowing light came to rest upon a patch of freshly over turned dirt. Collapsing onto her knees she quickly dug through the shallow grave with her bare hands, until she found what she was looking for. Threatening to choke on her sobs as she held the decapitated head reverently in her grasp.

"Oh Cedric! I'm so sorry this happened to you!" Tears spilling freely as she gently brushed his cheeks. Observing the sickly pallor they'd already turned, as well as the grotesque wound at the bottom of his neck.

"Don't worry, I promise I'll save you," she whispered softly. Bringing the corpse's lips to meet her own. Their cold, unmoving touch her only solace in the moonless night.

Tonight, she had cast off her title as Princess; and tonight, she would cast a spell that would return Cedric's soul to his broken body. Preserving it until she could restore all the pieces as one. And then, this time, nothing would ever tear them apart again...

Tonight, they would both be reborn...
