Journal Entry 12

Where do I even begin…? These days have just been so crazy it feels like it all happened in just one day at the same time. I guess I'll kinda summarize it to the best of my ability: Basically, I almost went through death a few times in a row. Okay, maybe that's too straight to the point but it is true. From the Adler Play to the Black Market, to the fight between me and my dad, yeah near-death experiences. I could try to explain it all in words but there's only so much this journal can take. But other than that, things have been looking up. People have started to see who I really am, and I've started to accept a small part of me that I've denied for so long. So I guess people were 30% right about me, only 30% though. Not only that but I think I managed to achieve a loving relationship between me and someone, though this someone also has a loving relationship with someone else. Sort of a polygamy love triangle going on. But even so, it's still good to have someone to love as they love me.

I also managed to make more friends. Those guys who were at the Black Market incident, we managed to make up, well some of us.

But yea, that's my summary of what happened. Man, I can't wait to tell all this in person to my psychologist. Wonder if he'll believe me. We'll see.

-Kris

Kris set his journal to the side as he was sitting on his bed reflecting on everything that's happened. Summer was reaching its end, and to Kris, it felt like it only lasted for a day, maybe a whole hour. Kris crept out of his bed to try and not wake his roommates, if they were still in bed, only to hear a scream that made him jolt and hit his head on the top bunker. He groaned as he held his head, looking to whoever the hell just screamed, to see it was a kangaroo.

"Jeez Louise, pickles on a Monday night...what's the fire here?" Kris asked, rubbing his head as the kangaroo eased up.

"Sorry, I just forgot that you're here because of you being an herbivore and all." The kangaroo apologized as Kris got out of his bed bunker.

"Well I'm here, and now my head hurts."

"Sorry, it's just well we're still not so used to you being here with you having the appearance of a carnivore. I mean even with the antlers, you have y'know." The kangaroo gestures to the rest of Kris's fox appearance.

"I know, I know. How long do you think it'll be for the herbivores here to get used to me?" The kangaroo shrugged, "Well at least nothing has gone wrong with me being here." Kris made his way to the washroom looking at himself in the mirror. He hasn't really looked at himself before when his antlers grew, so this was his first time. Kris was pretty amused at his new appearance especially...the antlers...the antlers…

"Louis…" Kris said to himself, for he remembered Louis never showed up at the festival and had yet to come back from wherever he was. It was in the newspapers as well that he was still missing, "Where are you…?" His phone then vibrated signaling it was time to get ready for class. It was required for the student to take two weeks of classes in the summer. Kris wasn't a fan of that rule but what are you gonna do? Kris cleaned himself up and got dressed as he then got a text.

'Hey, Kris, I was wondering if you wanted to walk to class with me and Jack.'

-Legosi

Kris smiled. Legosi, that wolf that changed his life ever since they met.

'Sure thing, wolfy. See you then ;)' Kris texted back.

Kris and Legosi were walking side-by-side, talking about some things while Jack was walking behind them watching them as they conversed. He had a look of worry on his face as he's seen Kris and Legosi together for quite a long time. An herbivore and a carnivore talking to each other and being this close...it sounded kinda crazy.

'They just look so happy together. I've never seen Legosi like this before…' Jack thought to himself, 'So why do I feel this way? I should be happy, right?'

"Oh, hey Haru." Jack heard Kris say and looked to see the white rabbit.

"Hey, Kris, you and Legosi have summer classes?"

"Yea, kinda a drag but what are you gonna do, am I right?" Kris nudged Legosi as he asked that. Jack noticed Legosi's reactions when talking with the two and started to really question Legosi a bit.

"Uh, yea. It is a rule after all." Legosi replied. Jack's worried look turned into a look of shock. Legosi was conversing with not one herbivore but two now.

"You have summer classes too?" Kris asked Haru.

"Yeah, since I went back home early. Are you still gonna be at the gardening club?"

"Of course, sister." Kris patted Haru's head.

"Hehe, well then I'll be seeing you later." She walks off. Jack watched her leave then looked back to Kris and Legosi who continued conversing.

"Sister?" Legosi asked.

"Yeah, it's just what I call her all the time."

"Legosi…" They heard Jack say and turned to him, "Is she the one?" Jack asked. Legosi and Kris, in sync, raised an eyebrow, but Kris soon knew what Jack meant.

"What?" Legosi asked.

"I think he's asking about how you feel about a certain rabbit." Kris said with his arms crossed, "I'll leave that between you two. See you in class, wolfy." Kris patted Legosi's back and walked off as Legosi waved goodbye.

"Is she really the one, Legosi?" Jack asked again, "She's a bunny, and you're talking to her all close and personal like that. You're like a pervy old man!" Legosi was taken aback by Jack's tone.

"Uh, Jack, you're starting to sound rude."

"Okay, I didn't wanna ask about this but I will: What happened to you this summer?"

"This Summer…?" Legosi asked and Jack nodded.

"Well...I never got...to eat any watermelons." Jack now had a look of confusion when he heard, "After classes, why don't we go shopping?" Jack looked at Legosi who smiled at him.

"...sure. Just don't go running off okay?" They continued walking to class.

Aoba, Bill, and Els, were looking at a sign on the drama club doors with surprised looks.

The Drama Club will be on break from Aug. 25 to Feb. 30

"Hehe well now, aren't we a bunch of scatterbrains." Els said with a chuckle, "We came here, even though we knew it was closed. How embarrassing."

"It'll be our little secret," Bill said, chuckling as well. Aoba just stood there watching Bill and Els talked mostly about manga they've been reading. Manga was something they had in common, so it was definitely the main topic they talked about a lot. Bill even lent her a manga called: Mammoth Hero John and she talked about how much she enjoyed it. Seeing Bill like this was a bit off-putting to Aoba, the fact that Bill was actually being friends with her. Soon Els said her goodbyes to the duo and left. Bill and Aoba looked at each other a bit intensely.

"Aoba, could you give me some money?" Bill asked.

"What?"

Bill and Aoba were sitting on a bench, drinks in hand.

"This is so screwed up." Aoba started.

"What?"

"You being friends with that herbivore…"

"Is this about the Black Market?! This is something different! Els is Els! She's good-looking, has a personality, I just like her as a lady friend. Besides doesn't that sound specist, labeling her as an herbivore?" Aoba glared at Bill.

"Don't twist my words, talking like that, especially since you were gonna eat that old man's finger!"

"But I didn't. I would've if that hybrid wasn't such an ass. Talking about how I'll never truly grow up." Bill gripped his drink thinking back to what Kris said to him.

'The only time you can ever say that you're growing up would be the day you admit that you're the one who killed those herbivores back at school.'

"Well, it was out of anger with you calling him a carnivore." Aoba retorted.

"I was only trying to help him climb the stairs of adulthood. But he won't understand it at all. It's why I never apologized for it because it wasn't wrong. I know you would agree, right?" Aoba's glare got more intense. It was bad enough to not apologize to Kris for nearly killing him, but acting like this?

"You say that, but…" Aoba, in a swift motion, took Bill's newspaper, "You seem to be worried about Louis." Bill's heart started to race a bit, "You don't usually buy from the school paper! So you're worried about Louis, you're friends with Els, but have no remorse for nearly killing Kris?!" Bill started to growl as he took the newspaper back.

"Don't just go looking inside my bag and taking my belongings!" He snarled as he put his newspaper back in his bag. The duo soon went silent for a while.

"So are you worried about Louis?" Bill looked away from Aoba in response.

"He just...went and vanished...I only wanted to do what I wanted because that deer keeps on trampling over me. Despite his weak body, his arrogance, abrasiveness, and his awful personality made me hate him so much. And Kris reminds me so much of him. When I saw Kris's anger, I couldn't help but see Louis especially when Louis was angry with me when mentioning what happened at the Black Market. He threatened to kill me if I went near Kris again. He was acting like Kris was so special to him. It was another reason why I didn't apologize to Kris, not that he would forgive me even if I did."

"Bill…" Aoba said, taken aback by what the tiger was saying.

"I just hated it all, but when I heard Louis disappeared, I felt glad. Without him...I'm just...a villain. As far as Kris, I don't know what to do with him...dammit! Now I'm scared about what's gonna happen next." Bill then looked to Aoba who was still shocked with the response and chuckled a bit, "Just kidding. Hey uh, how much was this drink? I'll be sure to pay you back."

"...It's my treat," Aoba responded.

"What? Why?"

"Nothing really."

Kris was going for a walk, his usual. He then heard footsteps and looked behind him but no one was there. As soon as he turned back…

"Hey!" Kris jolted a bit seeing Haru right in front of him. He then chuckled.

"Well, that was a fine hello." Haru giggled in response as she walked with Kris.

"So, I didn't get to ask, but how was your summer, Kris?" Haru asked him.

"It was alright. I couldn't really go back home because...y'know…"

"Oh...yea…" Haru remembers back to the fight with Kris's father, Terra, who was now behind bars, as they've heard. Because of that, the house they lived in was discharged.

"So I haven't really done very much. I at least got to chill with Legosi and Jack most times though. What about you?"

"Well like I said, I went home early, so there was quite a lot I did." They continued walking around for a bit and sat on a bench, relaxing under the hot sun. Kris's smile went back to a sad look as he started to think back to when he and Louis used to sit and talk to each other. He even got to know more about Louis, which he never told anyone, as promised. Haru noticed Kris's sad look.

"You miss him, don't you?" She asked.

"Yeah. I'm just trying not to think of the worst." Kris said, looking at the ground. Haru put a paw on Kris's.

"Louis's a strong deer. I'm sure he's okay wherever he is." Kris smiled at Haru's optimism as he petted her head.
