October 31th was finally here. The two agents were passing by a small shop when Scully noticed the Halloween decorations and started wondering what disguise would Mulder wear this year. So she simply asked him « What do you wanna be for Halloween ? » They just got back to the car so they stopped. Mulder turned to face Scully with the most charming smile and replied « Yours ». Scully opened her eyes wide. She absolutely didn't expect that kind of answer and thought she heard wrong so she asked for a confirmation. « What did you say ? ». Mulder's smile immediately faded away and he made two steps forward which considerably reduced the space between them and created a heavy atmosphere. After a few seconds of silence, Mulder calmly said « I wanna be yours ». Scully's cheeks became red and breathing got harder. She was so confused she didn't noticed that Mulder's breathe changed too. Their hearts were getting faster and louder. Their gaze were deep in each other's eyes. Mulder leaned slightly forward waiting a sign from Scully who didn't move. Finally, she closed her eyes, the signal for her confirmation, just before Mulder's lips touched hers. She felt a gently hand on her cheek which brought her comfort and a certain warmth in these autumn times. Their mouths slowly separate and then a tender look but also full of incomprehension was shared. A few seconds later, Mulder broke this silent look by innocently asking Scully « And you ? What do you wanna be ? ». She was taken unawares by this question and she hardly spat something but eventually confessed « I didn't thought of anything ». Mulder simply said yes by moving his head and went to the other side of the car. He opened the door and, before entering, he whispered a « You could be mine » that Scully heard very distinctly. She entered the car too just after him and the car started. That night, their Halloween wishes became real.
