There up! I'm here with another chapter!
A boring afternoon really got on the restless Tyson's nerves. To everyone's surprise, he admitted he'd rather be practicing his beyblading skills than just goof around and wait for the right moment.
"Or even go to the gym!" He yelled, stomping his foot.
Kenny passed Tyson a cheeky grin. "You'd really go to the gym?"
"But there aren't any bey-dishes fifty-miles within this place!" He griped, brushing away Kenny's remark. "Even if they were, we're not allowed to go anyway. What's the point? Why can't we be seen, chief?"
"Hm." Kenny mulled, brushing his fingers through the keyboard of his laptop. "I think I might have the answer to that, Tyson."
Everyone put a cease to the sip of their teas, eyeing Kenny.
"This is probably a top-secret mission, Tyson. We don't know who those muggers are, who knows what kind of attacks they could charge us with? They could attack you before you even know it!"
"Wait a minute, Kenny. Are you saying that those creeps might be hangin' around here, in Mexico?" Max interrogated, seeming confounded.
"I don't know, Max. It's possible, but for all I can say, even if they are draping around here, there is a part of them further at the islands. From my instincts, I don't think you can just leave a half-way done ritual. Plus, there has to be someone blocking our pathway from the islands, like Mike mentioned before." Kenny asserted.
"But this hotel could be a dangerous one too then, right? There's a possibility that they're here at this very moment." The calm, midnight-haired tiger piped in.
Kenny sighed for a moment. A few moments later, he tilted his head up with a grin. "Hey, don't worry guys. It's not necessarily true."
The slate-haired sourpuss freed himself from the wall, making his way through the front-door.
"Hey, Kai!" Tyson called out. "Where do you think you're going?"
Kai halted with his back turned.
"I don't think you should be getting out right now! We don't know what's forthcoming! I probably need a tune-up on your blades too," said Kenny, looking down intriguingly at his laptop. "But honestly, I don't know how far I can go without having any data on our opponents."
Kai scoffed, revealing his amethyst eyes. "There won't be any need. This battle is going to be different from the others. Even if there's a tune-up, I'm sure that won't do us any good in our battles in this context, because it's a bit-beast take-on."
"The guy does have a point." Ray said impassively.
Daichi gasped in confusion. "If there aren't any bey-battles then why did I ever bother coming to this place anyway?"
"Kai thinks that the fight is totally going to be spirited." Tyson piped in, indirectly panning his thoughts. "Which doesn't make any sense because we're using our blades anyway."
"I can just tell." Kai retorted stoically.
"But that's not valid at all!" Tyson grunted, balling his fists. "You talk like it's going to be unprecedented. It's freaky, because battles are the same one way or the other."
Concealing his amethyst eyes, the slate-haired dude, respectful to his persona, proceeded his way out.
"Kai!" Tyson yelled, rushing forward.
"Give it up." Ray interjected. "He's got moves of his own."
Sighing, Tyson gazed at the retreating figure as his closed the ingress behind him with his teeth clenched.
"Kai…"
The captain made his way through the gateway of the gorgeous hotel, lounging against the sage-green turf, placing a herb on the tip of his mouth. He pulled out his lilac Beyblade with his partner in it, aligning it with the sun-rays.
'Something isn't right about the whole thing. Dranzer is in utter danger. Forthcomings make it feel like it won't be a usual beybattle. Precisely, not a beybattle at all. We need to put our spirits and ourselves at stake to protect our four bit-beasts and be victorious with dynamic strategies. Or else, everyone is done for. But for all I care, I'm going to live until I defeat Tyson.' He concluded his thoughts with a clench on his blade.
The three-peat world champion sat on the balcony with his legs wide apart, clutching his gunmetal-grey jeans with a hunch. The chief sighed at the glance of him, pondering that there are probably fifty-million things on his mind right now. But the question arose figuring out whether Tyson was frustrated sorting out all thoughts, or is he was just completely focused on one. Nevertheless, he decided to mind his own business and work on some desktop upgrades.
Ray folded his legs across the couch, trifling his Driger MS. His pal Max joined him, watching some updates on the BBA regulations.
Daichi wandered just around the corner, picking his nose, finding nothing better to do. He was frankly upset, because he was looking forward to some intense battles. He never had any ancient-bit-beast trilogies impending and even if he did, for all he cared, he would just approach and launch is blade right-off. But things seemed a little different this time, all due respect of Kai's mulling.
The brunette was still asleep, given that she hadn't slept well in nearly two-weeks. The know-it-all was the last thing as close to a procrastinator. But even sleep didn't go down well with Hilary, clustered with nightmares about Tiara. Although it was something which prompted her to wake up after a nap of nearly eight-nine hours.
Filled with sweat, she gaped up the air-conditioner. She tilted her head across the silent room, unaware of the factors that brought her here and when. Escaping the milky blanket, she opened the door inside the suite room, panting.
"Evening, Hilary!" Ray greeted with a grin. "It's about time you got up."
"Evening?!" She spouted incredulously. "What on earth is the time?"
Ray pointed at the clock above her, which read four-forty-seven. Hilary grumped in frustration.
"Why didn't you guys wake me up earlier? What even happened all this while?" She hollered indignantly.
"Take it easy, Hilary." Max said sweetly. "We got here around three-four hours ago. There's been nothing interesting ever since, except for Mr. Dickenson's ousting story which we heard from the Scrimmage Resolutions. And if you want to include Kai's so-called theory too."
All Hilary could do is gawk in confusion with a sweat-drop. "Well that's gotta be something interesting."
"Oh, I never expected the old-hag to snap out of it. I thought you went to sleep for good," Played the one and only Daichi, despite knowing how nerve-wrecking it was on her.
"I'll deal with you later!" She snapped. "You could've at least woken me up!"
"We figured you'd be really tired. We know how gruelling things have been in the past few weeks. We just thought you could give it a rest."
Hilary backed off a little at the concern.
"Wait, where's Tyson?"
"Out there," said Ray, gesturing his thumb towards the balcony.
Hilary gave a glance at the balcony, which her footsteps soon followed. She gently moved the scarlet curtains aside, revealing the back of a navy blue-haired cocky champion with one of his closest friends, the chief.
She knocked on the glass, catching Kenny's attention. She hadn't expected Tyson to focus anyway, which in her own denial, really seemed to have ticked her off.
Kenny turned back with a grin and muttered a few things through a sound-proof glass, which only made Hilary drop a sweat and grin goofily. Since it was locked from the outside, Hilary tried different gestures to let him know.
Kenny's retort seemed like a tomfoolery act which caught the champion's attention.
"Hey, chief? What're you doing?" Tyson asked with a frown.
"Tyson! Look who's there!" Said Kenny, pointing out the window.
Tyson gave out a confused gasped, turning behind. He nearly toppled back witnessing that Hilary was right behind the aperture, which was right behind him.
"Chief, I think we have the aperture locked from the outside…"
Kenny blushed as he gobsmacked at his own idiocy. "Oh, right!" He unlocked the window, giving way to the brunette.
"You're finally awake, Hilary! Hope ya slept well," Exclaimed Kenny.
This brought Hilary to remind her of the nightmares she had during her slumber. "Uh-oh yeah! Quite well, chief."
"So, what even happened while I was asleep?"
"Nothing much," piped Tyson. "There's been nothing interesting except for Mr. Dickenson's ousting story which we heard from the Scrimmage Resolutions and if you want to include Kai's so-called theory-"
"Okay! I heard that before too! But how did I get here anyway? It'd be a total miracle!"
It caused Tyson to mildly blush.
"Oh, that?" Kenny deadpanned, very well aware of the fact that Tyson wouldn't want her to know. "That, uh-"
"Hey guys!" Ray whimpered. "Have a look!"
Kenny, Hilary and Tyson got out of the balcony as they witnessed Daichi join Ray and Max taking a peek through the front-window.
"What's up?" Tyson asked impassively, placing his arms behind his cap.
"It's Kai!"
"Kai?" Tyson repeated, getting slightly jumpy. His mentions always ought to have intriguing forthcomings. The trio rushed towards the casement.
Tyson gasped loud when he saw what was happening in the grounds.
"Is he gonna pull up one here too? Another self-civil-war or something?" Max remarked.
"No!" Tyson shouted, twitching his head towards the casement. "He's calling dranzer out!"
"What?" Kenny huffed dubiously.
"See for yourself!"
The blitzkrieg homeboy yelled on top of his lungs as the phoenix made his way out of the bit-chip. His muscles tightened and bulged out.
'Blades can have shields. Bit-beasts can't. We have to think of something.'
Dranzer rounded in circles as Kai gazed up. People who walked by had their eyes on him who regarded him as 'insane', gawking up the sky awkwardly. After all, ordinary people cannot see bit-beasts.
'Dranzer, I will protect you, no matter what happens!'
'Kai, what're you planning on doing?' Tyson thought with a sweat-drop with his palms stuck to the glass.
The navy-haired champion stood in a sequestered limbo with his palms by his waist. The wind played with his hair and jacket as he gazed ahead, only to onlook a cerulean blue sky. His grimace turned into a sharp frown.
There, finally brought about a change in the setting as a speckle came in the way. Tyson lowered his arms as his mouth slightly fell open.
The speckle came closer and closer…
Closer…
Tyson gave an incredulous expression as his fingers loosened a few centimeters ahead his elbow.
"A telephone? Is this vile pulling a meddling with me?"
It took a few seconds to realize that the telephone was nearly ten-times his height. He dropped a fearsome sweat and squawked out loud.
He laid low, hearing faint ringtones. His chestnut eyes opened up, first with a blur, then finally clearing his eye-path.
"Hello?" He said feebly, picking up the telephone beside him.
"Tyson? It's almost seven! Did you forget about the party at this hotel tonight?" Kenny exclaimed. Tyson could hear a mob in the background.
"Oh yeah…" He retorted stoically. "Do I really have to come, chief?"
"Tyson, the supper's a real energy boost! And the muster here! There's no trouble of those slags wandering around here! So come on!"
"But I'm kinda sleepy…" He yawned as he complained.
"Come on! It's the last bit of enjoyment before our battles! And I know you wouldn't want Daichi to bogart all the good food, right?"
Tyson groaned. "Fine! I'll come! Jeez…"
He got up on the couch, gazing the at the dark ad vacant living room.
"Man, when did I even fall asleep?"
"So, what did Tyson say, chief?" Asked the brunette, who was dressed up in a cerulean blue crop-hoodie and an aqua blue bottom.
"Ah, he'll be here soon, Hilary," said Kenny with a grin. "Let's check out the gig over there!"
Tiara watched the retreating figures with a bewildered expression of intertwined thoughts and ideas.
"Sometimes I wonder if this was really big mistake," said Rosa out of her crankiness. Tiara sighed at her irrational act.
"It's okay, Tiara. I think we all deserve a break," retorted Tiara exasperatedly.
"But Tiara-"
"Let's pick some morsels up."
Hilary glared at Kenny with a slight bit of annoyance. She balled her fists pointedly towards him and griped, "You never told me this was Ming-Ming's gig!"
Kenny didn't reply, simply drooling at the cyan-haired blader on the dais.
"Kenny!"
"Hmm?" He asked, turning towards Hilary, with the drool glued to his face. Hilary's tempered flared.
"Why did haul me along?"
Kenny smirked. "It's not like your bubblehead doll Tyson was present," He hadn't taken a notice of what he just said, busy stuck in Ming-Ming's reverie.
"What?!" Hilary snapped out of her daze. "You've gone insane! Snap out of it!"
"And about Tyson, were you being deceitful? That guy hasn't shown up yet!"
"Tyson's gonna be the same old one, Hilary. He won't show up any sooner."
"Well then I'll go by the entrance and wait for him," she said in annoyance, stomping her feet. "Just once I get off this thick mob…"
"No can do, Hilary." Kenny said with a snide remark. "The thickness of the mob is way outta your league."
Hilary sweat-dropped.
She continued to moan and drawl with a hunch of disappointment and reluctance.
The sleepy-lad homie finally made his way through the stairs, straight to the party hall. His eyes set first on Ming-Ming, who was squawking (according to Tyson) out her 'Go Shoot for Love' album. He figured the chief would be goofing around there, probably drooling by now.
"Tyson!" Yelled the cheerful lad of the team.
"Hey, Max!" Tyson looked around, seeing Ray discussing something with Mike and Daichi hogging the bouquet. "Where's everyone else – Kenny, Kai, Hil?"
"Kenny dragged Hilary into the live concert," Max chuckled. "To her dismay."
"She's gonna have a tough time," said Tyson at the thought of it. "And Kai?"
Max shrugged. "I guess he's playing the lone wolf."
Tyson squinted, gluing his eyes to the ground. "I hope he's not up to something insane. I mean, this is Kai we're talking about. He's unpredictable. He might as well end up as a traitor in the blink of an eye."
"Don't say that Tyson," huffed Ray, walking towards them. "I know how you feel, but this is also the four bit-beasts we're talking about. Which means Dranzer is at stake. He won't- he can't betray us!"
"We'll see what the future has to say, Ray." Snarled Tyson. He wasn't sure why he was so frustrated and why everything was getting on his nerves on the spur of the moment. "I'm gonna get dinner."
The second he swung around, the caramel haired blader made her appearance.
"Oh – hey there, Tiara," greeted Tyson in slight shock. "What's up?"
"Can I have a word with you Tyson, outside?"
Tyson gasped out of confusion and nervously nodded. Max and Ray exchanged looks of grimace. Tyson and Tiara made their way out as Ray hoped for the best, to avoid any kind of ominous scene.
"Tell me!" He pleaded in impatience.
"What if I told you…" she muttered. "That I feel kind of an affection towards you?"
He first glared at her, totally perplexed, then gasped the loudest to his limits. "What?!"
"If I ask you to-"
"Hold on!" He interjected her. "I hardly know you! Plus, I can't accept it anyway. My feelings will say otherwise even if I do."
"Just give it a try!"
"I'm sorry, Tiara!" He said softly. "But I just- can't. Why do you like me anyway?"
"I'm attracted to you," she said bluntly. "And to be honest, I get fazed seeing that brunette around you."
"Listen, I don't know what problem you have with Hils, but I've cut my point to the chase."
"Just a week? Please, Tyson! It'll help me straighten my feelings!"
The surly champion gawked at for a few seconds, then finally accepted. "Ugh, fine. But only to a fault. And starting tomorrow. I ought to get some sleep, alright? Good night."
He walked off to the stairs as Tiara walked into the hall with a wide grin on her face.
"Hey, we heard everything that happened," said Ray sourly, blocking her way out. "But I'll get this straight to you, don't let anyone else know."
"It's not official!"
"We know," said Max in a rasp manner. "But just listen to us. If you want to go out, you have to do it in such a way that no one finds out. To be frank, it's best you have it on midnights, when everyone is asleep."
"Why the heck is it such a big deal?!" Tiara snapped out her temper flaring.
"Well, we happen to know someone who likes him! And we won't let him or her down! Plus, I can't say for sure, but I think Tyson has feelings for the other person too. He's just too oblivious."
"That person must be pulling some kind of double standard on me!" Tiara snarled, balling her fists pointedly. "Is this only to lure me out of the date?"
"No, but we have to be honest," said Ray, making sure the girl doesn't let him go frenzy.
"Right, whatever."
"Tyson didn't EAT?!" Yelled Hilary. "IT'S NOT CONCEIVABLE! PLUS HE NEEDS HIS SUSTENANCE! I'M GONNA BRING UP FOOD TO THE ROOM!"
"I think he's asleep, Hilary. He looked so fatigued," said Mike calmly.
"But he-"
"Give it a rest, old hag, would ya?" Teased Daichi.
"Be quiet, Daichi!" Snapped Hilary. She pointed index finger towards Kenny's nose as her face bloated. "If you hadn't dragged me to that ridiculous pampered popstar's concert, I would've at least kept him in line!"
"Hey, don't look at me!" Kenny argued back. "And Ming-Ming isn't ridiculous! She conspicuously has a purer heart than you do!"
"Why you-"
The two teams watched them bicker with an impish grin.
"Okay, that's enough!" Tiara broke in, looking at Hilary. "Maybe you should quit nagging Tyson around if he means so much to you. I'm sure he'd like it better that way too."
Rosa glanced at her with a worried look. "Tiara-"
"I'm not asking you anything!" Growled Hilary.
"Whatever! Get some sleep guys!" She shrugged, as she walked off with the team. Hilary continued to snarl at her back.
"Hilary-"
"Let's get back to the room." She said softly, shrouding her eyes with the bangs of her hair. "It's late."
As they were walking in amble up the stairs, Max dared to slur out.
"Hilary, are you-"
"I'm okay, Max." She retorted impassively. Ray, Max, Kenny and even Daichi exchanged looks of sigh.
Ray opened up the room, making sure the noise of the keys didn't wake Tyson up. As their eyes said, he was already asleep on the extra bed beside the king-sized bed in the inner room.
"I want to sleep outside," declared Hilary. "I am the only girl after all."
"Hey, don't sweat it," said Max. "You might want the air-conditioner."
"I'm better off without it." She grinned. "Plus I need to be alone with my thoughts."
"If that's what it is, then sure." Said Ray, since he was going to use this perk to get to a word with Tyson inside.
As the boys entered and shut the door behind them, Ray leaned forward and shook Tyson a multiple times.
"Mmm," mumbled Tyson. "What is it? Let me sleep."
"I just want to ask you something, pal."
"What?" Tyson asked indignantly with his eyes shut.
"I can't believe you're gonna go out with Tiara."
Tyson shot up, banging his head with Ray's. "How did you-"
"Shhh! Just make sure no one knows, okay? It'll create fuss."
Tyson sighed. "I wasn't planning on telling anyone anyway. I just want to get it over it."
"I though you'd reject her on her face," growled Daichi. "You're not like the Tyson I know at all."
"She wanted to figure her feelings out, so I thought I'd give it a shot. But it wont last too long, I promise. And anyway…" he paused. "Nevermind. I'm quite sleepy, so
catch ya later."
