Raging Spirits
1.
Lisa Atwood had just left the tack room and was on her way to the lounge when she passed by Max's office. As she did she heard Max's voice.
"I'm sorry Mr. Frobisher, but Pegasus is not for sale!" Max was saying. A well to do looking business man came stalking out of Max's office looking anything but happy. He disappeared out the door with a scowl on his face.
Max stood in his office doorway and shook his head.
"Max," said Lisa urgently, "you wouldn't sell Pegasus, would you?!"
"Of course not," Max smiled quickly, "first off all you're the only one who can ride him, and second I would never sell a horse to a man with that guy's temper. Still, he concerns me."
"Why," asked Lisa, "is it more than just his temper?" Max nodded
"That guy doesn't handle not getting what he wants very well." Replied Max, "In fact, that's the third time so far this month that he's been here trying to buy Pegasus."
A shiver went down Lisa's spine.
"But that's nothing for you to worry about." Max added quickly seeing the worry creeping across Lisa's face. she gave a smile that she hoped didn't look too forced and hurried on to the lounge thoughts racing.
"This guy could be trouble." She thought. When she got to the lounge, she told Carol and Stevie what had happened and what Max had told her.
"Do you mean Max thinks that this Frobisher character might try to steal Pegasus?" said Carole
"Well he didn't say that in so many words, but that's the feeling I got." replied Lisa, "cause, I saw the guy when he left Max's office and he definitely has a temper!"
The girls looked at each other and without saying a word knew that they were all thinking the same thing.
"We need to keep a watch on Pegasus." Said Lisa, voicing the thought on all three of their minds.
"Yeah," said Stevie, "as in guard him."
"Yeah," said Carole, "But how?"
"It's simple, "said Lisa, "Stevie and I will have to see if we can get our parents to let us spend the night at Pine Hollow!"
