Separatist attack! After the destruction
of the Republic outpost on the Mercia Moon,
General Dark Oak and Lien-Da plan
an attack on the planet Soleanna, home of
the cloning factories.
Meanwhile, aboard a Shinobi cruiser, Shinobi
Knights Shadow the Hedgehog and Espio the
Chameleon examine an intercepted message
from Dark Oak….
Shadow, Espio, Armand and Fang were on the bridge of a cruiser waiting at a holo-unit as a mantis clone was working "We're decrypting it now, Sir". They watched as a hologram of a cloaked Lien-Da appeared speaking to Dark Oak "The clone planet of Soleanna will be a dangerous target" the echidna said. "Just make sure you hold up your half of the mission. We must stop the production of new clones if we are to win this war" the message ended. Shadow crossed his arms "Soleanna" "They're gonna attack our home" Fang said. Espio pondered "The Separatists are taking quite the chance if they're even considering this". "With all due respect, General. If someone comes to our home, they better be ready for a fight" Fang said with Armand nodding in agreement "This is personal for us clones". Shadow nodded "We'll make sure the planet's secure. Tell the men they're going home" "Yes, sir" both clones said.
On the bridge of an Egg Carrier Dark Oak was speaking to a hologram of Lien-Da "All is ready, General" "Good. We will attack the capital city first". Lien-Da nodded "I have the exact locations of the clone DNA room and the barracks". Dark Oak cackled "Both shall be destroyed by my hands" "Our hands, General". Dark Oak sat back in his chair "But of course, Assassin. I look forward to meeting you when you get here".
The cruiser landed outside one of the main hangers of the city and released a battalion of clones. Shadow and Espio met with Lara-Le and the Soleanna King "Greetings, Generals, welcome back to Soleanna" the latter said. "I wish our arrival were under better circumstances. We believe Dark Oak is planning an attack" Espio said. The King nodded "I've already prepared the cities defences. However I find it hard to believe they would dare try and get past the blockade".
Mighty and Ray were walking through of the corridors of the facility looking nostalgic "Look around, Mighty. Feels like yesterday we were here heading to target practice" Ray said as a squad of cadets walked past. They saw Chuck carrying blasters which he dropped "Hey, Chuck" Mighty said as the two walked up to him. Chuck smiled "Mighty, Ray, it's good to see you both". Mighty was surprised "You remember us?" "I remember all my brothers. Are Ash and the others here?". Mighty paused before answering "There was an incident on the Mercia moon outpost. Bas and Aaron were killed in the attack. Ash gave his life to destroy it" "He saved our lives" Ray added. Chuck face dropped "Oh. I see" he took out a medal which surprised Mighty "Ash gave you his medal?", Chuck nodded "I was supposed to give it back to him. You were part of his squad" he gave it to Ray who was going to say he could keep it, but he knew Chuck had made up his mind. Chuck immediately changed the subject "So why have you returned to Soleanna?" "The Generals have received word of an impending attack here". Chuck turned very determined "Well, how can I help".
A massive fleet of Republic cruisers surrounded Soleanna when a fleet of Egg Carriers jumped out of hyperspace. The two sides started firing on one another as Shadow and his fighter squadron arrived. The fighters engaged the Egg Carriers managing to destroy a large potion of them. The debris started falling towards the planet.
The others were watching a hologram of the battle at the command centre, Lara-Le looked troubled "Dark Oak seems sacrificing his transports in favour of protecting his command ship", Espio nodded "Something isn't right". They saw the debris fall into the ocean near the city. Espio's commlink activated "I'm gonna press the attack, Master" "No, Shadow, wait. This is too reckless an attack. Dark Oak is trying something" "Master the battle is up here in space, not down there". Espio shook his head "The debris form the destroyed Separatists ships is the key". Lara-Le turned to him "What're you thinking?" "I think I'd like to go for a swim".
Espio was in an underwater transport heading deeper into the ocean "I haven't found anything yet", he heard a sigh over the commlink "Only you would worry about the ships I already shot down". He then saw flashing lights on the surface of the ocean "Wait" he saw Egg Lancers welding the debris of the carriers. "Lancers. They're assembling assault craft". He saw giant squid like transports swim past "Shadow, I was right. The debris was carrying ships for an underwater assault. Shadow, come in!". The Lancers spotted him and grabbed onto the transport. Espio quickly directed the ship to the surface but the Lancers started cutting into it. The glass began to break and Espio ejected and swam as fast as he could. He felt like he was about to pass out, but he then saw a winged lizard creature swimming in his direction. He grabbed onto to it and it flew out of the water. Espio lied on it's back "Thanks for the lift friend" he said weakly as he patted the creature's head. He headed back to the city and saw the squid assault craft jump out of the water and attach to parts of the city. "Shadow, the city is under attack. I need you down here now!" "I'm on my way".
The clones were setting up a defence in one of the hangers. Mighty and Ray ran up to the elephant Arc Trooper "Might and Ray, sir. You sent for us?" Mighty said to him. "I want you two up on the bridge in sniper positions" "Yes, sir. We're on it" Ray said before running back out with Mighty. The hanger doors blew open and a squid released a small army of Lancers and then Dark Oak. "Kill them all!" a shootout started. Outside another squid released Lien-Da and she advanced with her army who were massacring the clones. In the hanger Chuck was handing out ammo "Chuck, get out of here!" the elephant Commander said before getting shot. Chuck tried to help him "This is no place for you" the Commander said before getting shot in the head. Chuck stared in shock for a moment before continuing to hand out ammo.
Shadow and Espio were covering a group of clones from more lancers "There aren't enough badniks to take the city. They're trying to distract us. Go protect the DNA chamber. I'll deal with Dark Oak" Espio told him, "Got it".
Mighty and Ray were on the bridge holding back the advancing lancers when Chuck ran up to them "I brought you some grenades" "Badniks!" a squad of Pawns were behind them. Mighty grabbed a grenade and threw it at them. The detonation destroyed them when they heard steps on their other side and quickly turned to see a squad of young clone cadets "What're you doing here?" Ray asked them, "We got separated from our group". Mighty stepped forward "Where were they taking you?" "We were heading to the barracks" a young squirrel said. Chuck nodded "I know the best way there".
Commander Colt was on his own fighting a group of pawns when he suddenly couldn't breathe. He was lifted in the air and turned to Lien-Da who was grinning sadistically. He watched in fear as she ignited her lightsaber and pulled him onto it, she kissed him on the cheek before dropping his body to the ground. Dark Oak walked up to her "Your skills are impressive. Perhaps a match for my own, assassin". Lien-Da surprisingly chuckled "Dimitri might have taught you how to swing a lightsaber, General. But that hardly makes you my equal". Dark Oak looked down at her "And yet I'm in charge of this assault. Now, go recover the clone DNA" "Why not just destroy it?" "Because the DNA can unlock new possibilities for us". Lien-Da half-heartedly nodded "Keep playing with your badniks, General. I'll do the difficult part of the mission". Dark Oak grabbed her arm "Shall I provide you with an escort". She mockingly caressed his face "My dear General. There's nothing you have that I could want" she walked away.
Mighty, Ray, Chuck and the cadets were in the barracks which was now red from the emergency lighting "What're we gonna do?" a young echidna asked asked. "A Separatists victory means death for all of us. What are we going to do?" Chuck said, "We fight" they turned and saw Armand and Fang enter. "But we don't have any training" a scared Hawk cadet said. Mighty looked determined "Look around. We may look different but we're one in the same. Same heart. Same blood. Your training is in your blood. And my blood's boiling for a fight". Ray nodded in agreement "This is our home. This is our war" "But we don't have weapons" a coyote cadet said. Chuck suddenly had a wide smile "The armoury. It's just a few corridors away from the barracks. I could retrieve all the fire power that we need. So, who wants to blast some badniks?", Fang and Armand smiled at their brother's enthusiasm.
The doors to the war room were blown open and Egg Lancers started firing. Lara-Le covered the Soleanna king before rushing forwards and cutting through the Lancers. She activated her commlink "The badniks are spread thin. We must push our offensive, now".
Lien-Da entered the DNA room and went over to a console. She typed something into a keyboard which revealed a hologram of Mimic. A DNA sample was placed into a container and released from a machine. Lien-Da smirked but she then heard a lightsaber behind her "I was beginning to think my presence went unnoticed" she said. "You weren't planning on leaving without saying hello, were you?" Shadow asked her. Lien-Da turned around and attached the DNA to her belt before igniting her lightsabers. Shadow lunged at her but instead of fighting Lien-Da jumped over him and ran out of the room.
Dark Oak went past a door that two pawns were in front of trying to get open "Get that door open and kill any remaining clones". The door suddenly opened revealing Mighty, Ray, Armand and Fang who fired at the badniks. Dark Oak watched as the other badniks advanced on the doors forcing the clones to retreat "All too easy". He then heard a lightsaber being ignited behind him, he turned and saw Espio "Define easy, General" "Espio". The two engaged in a duel, but Dark Oak detached one of his arms and grabbed Espio's face and slammed him to the ground. He tried to stomp on his head but Espio rolled out of the way so Dark Oak grabbed him and threw him against the wall "Soleanna has fallen, Espio. Your clone army is doomed" "I beg to differ" Espio Force pushed Dark Oak away. Dark Oak ran down the corridor with Espio chasing after him.
The four clones took cover in the barracks and tried to keep the advancing badniks at bay. Chuck ran up to Armand and Fang and gave them both grenades. They threw them into the crowd destroying a large chunk of them. The badniks kept advancing and were not under underneath the pod beds. "Cadets, now!" Fang yelled, the beds slotted out of the wall revealing the armed cadets who fired down on the Pawns. Fang threw another grenade but the badniks who were still getting too close "That was the last one" "I'll get more". Chuck ran out "Chuck, you can't!" Armand yelled, "I'm a soldier like you! This is what I was born for" he said as he ran but he was suddenly shot in the leg. He fell to the ground "Chuck, no!" Ray yelled right before breaking cover and desperately firing on the badniks trying to save him. Chuck got back up and tried to run but was shot twice in the back, he fell back to the ground dead. Fang and Armand looked in shock before his commlink activated "Commander Armand, this is Lara-Le. The badniks have been pushed back to the main hanger".
Espio was fighting Dark Oak outside on a platform where a shuttle was waiting. Dark Oak was overwhelming Espio and was forced to the edge of the platform. Dark Oak kicked him off the platform and laughed before running inside the shuttle and taking off. Suddenly the winged lizard flew up carrying Espio "We've got to stop meeting like this, my friend".
Shadow was chasing Lien-Da outside as the assault craft around the city were getting destroyed one by one. He caught up while the two were on a ridge and he pushed her to the ground. He tried to grab the DNA with the Force, but she angrily lunged at him. She kicked him in the face and pulled the DNA, but it was caught in mid-air by a beetle clone as more appeared. "I suppose you expect me to surrender?", Shadow stood up "Actually I plan to let the clones execute you, right now". She arrogantly smirked "Not this time" she jumped off the bridge and grabbed onto the outside of Dark Oak's shuttle as it flew by.
The badniks in the barracks had been defeated, the cadets were standing over the broken robots looking very proud of themselves. Ray was holding Chuck's body as the others stood over him "We... lost a true soldier today" Armand said respectfully as Fang patted him on the back "He really was one of us".
Mighty and Ray were in the locker room of the landed Republic cruiser. Mighty opened his locker and took out the case containing four medals. Ray took out Ash's medal and placed it inside uniting the six members of the Chaotix squad. Fang and Armand then entered "Mighty, Ray" the former said making them stand to attention. "You both really stepped up today" Armand said with Ray responding "We did what we had to sir" "What any clone would have done" Mighty said. Fang stood in front of them "Both of you showed valour out there, real courage. Reminds me of me actually" "Mighty, Ray, you both officially being made ARC troopers" Mighty and Ray looked at each other in surprise. Fang smiled at the to of them "I don't think the Separatists will be coming back here anytime soon. But if they do, Soleanna will be lucky to have soldiers like you defending it. Good job, men" the four clones saluted each other. They were all leaving but Mighty quickly put the medals back in his locker, he stared at them for a second while grinning "We did it, guys".
