It was high noon by the time Alabaster had wrangled the necessary supplies, as he made the well-traveled path and wild grasses and expanded city and buildings before the teen finally made the venture to the main city of Viridian. The trainer had sense parked his scooter under a bike station, and allowed his poke friend to gallivant in the damp wild grass and flowers. Other trainers were scarce, but a few Pokemon both domesticated and wild roamed this sanctioned area of the enclosure of Viridian City metro area, that joined near a thin line of trees of a forest. The city had grown and gotten bigger and even had a new rail station still being built to travel faster around the Kanto region. The city was found as Alabaster could remember when his mother took him and his cousin to the area to shop, and grown even more since the last few years of staying cooped up on his Aunt and Uncle's farm.
Turning his view toward the phone fully charged; he still hadn't received a call or notification from anyone, and Alabaster was due to check in with Professor Oak. The skies were clear without a cloud in the sky, as distant bells from the nearby trainer academy alerted of the midday resulting in a flock of flying pokemon scattering across the clear sky. Alabaster made his way onto the paved stone path, along the small park surrounded by a fence, as the brilliant flowers swayed softly in the gentle winds. The teen even saw a Pokemon Center and separate blue-roofed Market center and even the Viridian final gym, he would need to eventually travel back to challenge the mystery gym. The data on the gym had plenty of trainers taken the dojo and over the last couple years either was barren and Pokemon League to set up an appointment to unlock the gym to grant the chance to obtain the final badge, or travel to the Viridian City Pokemon Academy to battle the tower to earn a participation badge to allow the trainers seeking to compete in the Pokemon League to do so, however many trainers saw this tactic as beneigth and frowned upon the loophole.
Rumors spun after the former leader known as Giovonii was discovered to be the main leader to the predated criminal organization and son of the heiress of the faction known as Team Rocket. Alabaster was aware that a young trainer younger than him had several run-ins with the rouge members. Police of Kanto and several other regions still had aged WANTED posters of him and other faction members of both Team Rocket and Neo-Rocket Members, which eventually cooled down. Until as Jenny had reminded the young teen when several members of various factions of dark organizations came together to join the eventual rough Poachers and baddies the Kanto region knows now as Prism Rocket.
Alabaster frowned seeing the wooden signpost of Welcoming new visitors, as WANTED posters were visible next to a metal cabinet of sun-bleached mug shots. The young trainer saw the black logo with the white triangle with a rainbow of light passed through the shape. The evil faction logo also gave details of past organizations seized by Kanto authorities and even talked about the former Casino in Celadon Game Corner, where the international police force eventually took them down a couple of years back. Looking at his phone at the time, Alabaster knew he needed to wrap this up and finish some last-minute effort before he took the route out of the city.
Alabaster finished his final shopping at the local Marts, and few days supplies and basic camping equipment. Escaping from his Uncle and Aunts farm in Pallet town, a lot of thoughts were on his mind as he proceeded to Route 2. Though this, unfortunately, drained a lot of funds from his account, he had stashed a couple of years back when he planned to leave to start his pokemon journey, he at least knew the supplies would last him. Snacking on the small Unovia inspired sandwich of fast food, he observed the tall metal fence that surrounded the entire grounds. The Pokemon Academy fenced off the massive complex, that separated the old tunnels that used to be known as Digglet cave. Students at the cafe mart had spoken allowed the Pokemon Academy overlooks the Viridian Forest.
The trainer deep down wondered how the dark forest looked from the tall academy. Alabaster was least thankful there was a visitors station before entering the forest home to multiple bugs and other pokemon wildlife, such as various avion and few electrical types. Viridian City like the rest of Kanto had fully changed and seen the world, he wondered what it was like for his mom and uncle on their journey ages ago. His uncle even claimed they saw the acclaimed legends of Blue and Red on their journey through Kanto, and his mom even saying his Uncle got wiped on the floor by Blue.
The visitor station was pretty spacious and had a small shop with various warnings about trainers venturing or camping into the forest with Poison-type pokemon that roam the forest. Taking the small ventures to guide 101 with the Pokemon Ranger on the front, and gave simple instructions on approaching pokemon, wildlife, and plant life. The enclosure had slowly gone under maintenance and with the help of the Pokemon, Academy made it a protected enclosure and camping location with selected camping areas with basic site locations marked on a map of the Kanto area. Tucking the information into the bag, Alabaster saw the recent poster for the Bug catching contest held on Tuesday and Thursday, but it was the recent poster for Ursine and Rodent type pokemon and for travelers to be careful. Alabaster removed the smartphone and click on the QR codes, the digital dex highlighted the entries as the soft voice spoke...
KANTO variant RATTATA: "Its whiskers provide it with a keen sense of smell, enabling it to pick up the scent of hidden food and locate it instantly."
Scrolling past the purpled rodent pokemon on the screen, being reminded of the Alohan dark rodent type, his finger scrolled further as the next QR code slowly downloaded. The dark silhouette of the large humanoid shape, before the brown bear-type Pokemon, appeared on the screen.
URSARING: "Ursaring, the Hibernator Pokémon. Ursaring searches for honey in a forest daily. To reach its food, it often snaps trees with its forelegs rather than climbing. In the forests inhabited by Ursaring, it is said that there are many streams and towering trees where they gather food. This Pokémon walks through its forest gathering food every day."
Alabaster seemed to feel a shiver run down his spine at the large massive bear pokemon, though he thought his pre evolve form was adorable, he didn't wanna go too deep into their territory and keep onto the footpath. A note by the enclosure warned of avoiding areas of scratches or markings for new trainers. Having least Parsnips in his party, he knew the pokemon was inexperienced battle-wise, least knew the grass type would protect them.
Assuring the last of his supplies were checked off the list, taking a seat on the rows of chairs, he decided against the more experienced lift area of the forest and take the older route take a day or so travel. Before Alabaster would take off once more.
The start of the journey into the Viridian Forest wasn't off to a bad start, as he was greeted by the Pokemon Ranger. She even gave him a basic pokemon med kit, before she returned to the lodge and pointed him in the right direction. The trees were massive and blocked most of the light, as only glimmers of sunlight peaked through the carved forest path. Few lanterns guided the enclosure areas like tall grass and broad trees with thorns littered the landscape. The vegetation was even said in the brochure to cause irritation to the skin, but to certain poison-type plants are edible, but not in the consumption of human trainers.
Alabaster slowly proceeded through the footpath as he was the only person on the trail. Depending on whether to let Parsnips stretch their legs, Alabaster chose to keep his poke friend in the capsule for safety. The teen trainer took in the surrounding sights of the wilderness, as he removed the gronolla bar from the pack as they ventured further while occasionally taking in the sounds of small insects echoed in the deeper part of the forest. Eventually, the trainer knew they would have to set up a camp and venture out in the morning, but the markers of the trail said there was an encampment and one in particular had a small water channel deeper into the forest.
Taking a turn around the next bend of trees as he saw something along the footpath. Alabaster blinked his eyes as he carefully approached the middle of the path where odd-looking tracks and snapped thick limbs from trees scattered the traveled path. Pondering to follow the tracks, Alabaster decided to follow the winding road stepping away from the campsite as the sound of running water sounded as he ventured further up the road as the tracks seemed to disappear to a couple of bushes and up an embankment, before the young teen trainer decided to venture back to his campsite, that was before he heard a soft cry coming from a pair of bushes off the beaten path.
Reading his Pokeball as Alabaster ventured carefully toward the softly moving bush, as he approached the bush and heard the whimper grow softer. "Hello? Alabaster called out to the bush, as whatever was in the trap reacted by suddenly going still, as the soft hurt whimper drifted. Feeling something was wrong, Alabaster carefully spread apart the middle of the thick bushes as he saw the commotion of the noise a whimpered growl of a light brown pokemon entrapped in a net. Tilting his head, Alabaster saw the fear of the creature as he had no idea what this small bear-like pokemon with a crescent moon on its enlarged head struggled in the net as he was interrupted by a voice that sounded annoyed and feminine.
"HEY?! What are you doing!" Before Alabaster could do or even say anything the pink-haired woman in the black attire shoved him out of the way and began once more. "That's my prize." Immediately her posture seemed to shift really defensive, as Alabaster observed the prism on the bandana and pair of sunglasses, which the young trainer guessed was the poacher the Pokemon Ranger warned him about, along with the information he discovered in the Diner of the Pokemon Center Cafe, as the pink-haired woman scoffed seeing his Pokeball and as the wind began to rustle in the trees, as she began, "If you want to rescue Teddiursa, your gonna have to battle, kid." The sneer on her face as she removed the obsidian-looking metal Pokeball released a Scyther which angrily crossed its elongated blades and bellowed a categorized battle cry.
The green pokemon triggered the automated transceiver on his mobile phone application for the Pokedex and began:
Scyther: " Scyther the bug and flying type Pokemon. Scyther is blindingly fast. Its blazing speed enhances the effectiveness of the twin scythes on its forearms. This Pokémon's scythes are so effective, they can slice through thick logs in one wicked stroke."
The pink-haired woman seemed to smile and chuckle, as if the voice of the phone application stroked some deep-seated ego, as the Team Prism member crossed her arms as she pointed to the green light escaping her symbol as she proclaimed confidently, "Give it up, kid. The green patch on the team insignia symbolizes Im a Grass/Bug-type trainer. You stand no chance kid."
The smug expression was something that made Alabasters stomach churn in knots, as he suddenly felt the tiny Pokeball rumble and before the young teen trainer could do anything, Alabaster felt his Pokeball open and release his partner Parsnips from the Pokeball on its own terms, and faced the bug and flying type pokemon, as the Team Prism agent shook her head and quipped, "HA! Type Disadvantage kid."
