Water wars! Tensions run high on the
ocean world of Atlantis, where two
separate peoples, the aggressive
Nons and their peaceful
neighbour, Anthros, struggle
to maintain a fragile co-existence.
Adding to the strife, the king of the
Anthros has been found mysteriously
murdered, leaving his young daughter, Princess
Undina, to guide her people alone. But
the Non race will not accept the new
ruler as their Queen.
Senator Tikal and her Shinobi bodyguard
have arrived to help resolve the matter
and to avoid plunging the planet into
civil war...
The Nons and Anthros were in the large round Council room. Shadow and Tikal were watching from the side, both wearing air charms around their necks. The Separatist ambassador was a shark wearing a blue shirt, he was swimming around the council room. The Councillors started to argue "The world prospered under our rule" "It's time for change!" "The prince's rule has been preordained" "Down with this monarchy!" "We'll defend our right for an Anthro Queen". Undina who was a purple fish wearing a yellow dress was in the middle of the room "I am dedicated to serving the Nons as well as my own people, the Anthros". The shark swam up in front of her "Silence! You haven't earned the right to speak at this gathering". A much younger Striker swam down "You have no say in the matter, Ambassador" "I am here at the request of the Nons because you, Captain, demanded the presence of the Republic". The shark swam back to his side and Striker glared at him "Such a disgrace. I'll give you a lesson in manners" he was about to move but Shadow grabbed his shoulder. A sea serpent spoke "Princess Undina will bring the planet to ruin. The girl has neither the experience nor the knowledge to lead".
Tikal moved forward "Please. You're here to find a compromise. What can the Republic do to help keep the peace?" "This is a matter between the Nons and the Anthros". The rest of the Nons seemed to agree "The Republic has no place here!". The serpent turned to the Atlantis Senator, an orange Betta wearing a green dress "We refuse to support the coronation of another Anthro leader. I'm sorry". He turned to the shark "Ambassador" "In my opinion, the Nons have no further business here". He swam out followed by most of the Nons. Undina sat back with her head down looking devested. "Come on, Captain Striker. We have to contact Master Blaze" Shadow said, they left with Tikal. Undina stayed where she was when the serpent used his tail to tap her shoulder "Your father was my trusted friend. I am sorry for your loss" he said sincerely before leaving.
Shadow and the others were in the cockpit of a ship hovering just above the ocean. They were speaking to holograms of Blaze and Merlin "Hmm. This civil war, is it inevitable?" "Sadly so, Master Blaze". Shadow nodded "The Separatist ambassador came here to stir up the Nons, and that's exactly what he did" "It's only a matter of time before the Nons withdraw from the Republic" Tikal added. Blaze sighed "I suspect Dimitri is behind this" "The Atlantis system is still part of the Republic. This planet must not fall into Separatists hands. I'll dispatch Master Saline and your Commander Rose along with a company of clones. They'll be at your side by day's end. In the meantime, Captain, assemble the Anthro troops, and prepare for a Non assault".
Striker was traveling through a large glass tube taking him through the city until he eventually came out at the palace where the betta was waiting with Undina. The betta had a white chao with long pink ears with her. Striker swam up to them "The troops are being assembled, Senator Coral" "Let's hope we don't need them, Captain. I'm entrusting the safety of Princess Undina to your hands. You must remain at her side at all times as her personal bodyguard". Striker didn't seem to like this "Senator, if the girl is to-" "We are on the verge of civil war, Captain, and that girl is the Supreme Commander of the Anthro military. It's up to you to see that she remains safe and that she can handle the job" "With due respect, Senator, the princess is not ready to lead an army. He needs training" "You have your orders, Captain". She swam back inside as Undina looked up to Striker "You're right, Captain. I'm not trained to lead an army" "Come, Your Highness. We have a war to win". Striker put a golden claw over his left hand, took a trident from his back and led the princess inside.
Elsewhere the shark was in a room in the Non city. He was staring out of a window watching an army of Egg Lancers that were being dropped by ships form the surface. He turned around as a hologram of Dimitri appeared "The army has assembled, Dimitri" "Well done, Sharka What about the Non leader?" "Krakiota is on board 100 percent. He will deliver the planet into your hands, just as you said he would" "Very good, Commander. In the end, control of this planet will be in your hands. Proceed as planned".
At the centre of the city in a council chamber Coral and Undina were standing before the assembled army. Undina looked nervous before stepping forward with her face now looking determined "I know many of you agree with the Nons that I am too young to rule. But I assure you I will use all my strength and all my abilities to lead us through this challenge. We are a great people, and I will do all I can to negotiate peace without bloodshed. I do not believe the Nons will attack". Suddenly an alarm went off and they saw Separatist assault craft invading the city "Take cover!" Shadow yelled.
They went outside with the army "What're your orders, Your Highness?" Striker asked, "Stay where you are and hold the line". Shadow watched the Lancers "If I may suggest, Captain, we should take the princess to a safer place until the Republic reinforcements arrive" "That's impossible. That is a decision only the princess can make. She's our leader". Undina saw one of the soldiers getting killed "This is horrible", Shadow turned to her "Your Highness, this is not a wise decision. And you know it. Forget your tradition. This is war". Striker looked to his queen "Majesty?" "I have to stay here with my people. Press your attack, Captain". Striker nodded and began leading the troops. He fired a laser form the claw on his left hand as the two armies clashed. Sharka suddenly swam up and tore through two Anthro soldiers with just his teeth. "Soldiers of Atlantis, this is your home. Do not let it fall!" Striker yelled. Undina watched "We need to get some troops behind those badniks. Come on, I know a shortcut". They used a tube to travel around "We should come out right behind them" "Good plan". Part of the building blew up and debris fell down in front of them "Look out". The debris hit behind them breaking the tube "What do we do now?" "Well, we got to come up with another plan". They saw a group of Nons swimming towards them with blasters attached to their tales "Any ideas?" Shadow asked Undina, "Our only choice is to wait for the Shinobi reinforcements".
Above the water a group of gunships were flying to the drop point. Amy was waiting on one of the gunships. She put an air charm around her neck, there were clones with her, but they didn't need air charms. Amy's commlink activated and she heard Saline "Ready to drop. Three, two, one. Mark". Everyone jumped out and dived into the water.
Shadow was giving Undina and Tikal cover when he saw the clones "Reinforcements. Finally" the clones joined the Anthro army. "Shadow, I'm going to find Senator Coral. Hopefully, she's still alive" Tikal said, "Be careful". Saline was using a mini-sub and used the blasters to shoot down Lancers. Shadow saw a group of Lancers coming towards them "Stay down and don't move!" he swam towards them. Striker came over and covered Undina when they heard chanting "Hear that? They're cheering for you" "They're cheering for them". Striker held out a trident "Then make it for you". Undina didn't take it so Striker pushed it into her hands "Come on! Lead". Shadow was fighting a Lancer when an Eel wrapped around his body from behind. Shadow was just able to move his hand and slashed at part of the Eel's body. It unwrapped but pulled the air charm off Shadow's neck. He saw it falling with the Eel's body and he desperately swam down to get it. He wasn't fast enough, and it fell into the darkness. Shadow clutched his throat and saw three Lancers coming towards him, but Amy then appeared on a mini-sub and fired on the Lancers.
She went down at top speed and grabbed the charm. She came back up and handed to him and he quickly put it back around his neck. He took a huge gasp of air as Amy smiled "You called for backup?" "I had… It under… control, Snips" he coughed, "I knew you'd say that". Shadow's commlink activated "Shadow, I need you down here. It's Senator Coral. I need help getting her to safety. We're at the base of the palace. And hurry" "Amy, protect the princess. I'm going for the senators". Amy saw Undina firing a laser from her trident at an advancing Sharka who was dodging the bolts. Amy went as fast as she could, as Sharka got closer Undina froze but Amy got close enough and slashed Sharka across the face forcing him to retreat "Grab on!" she said who Undina. "Good idea" she got on the transport and they sped away as Sharka angrily chased them. They went through one of the tubes and Sharka chased them form the outside, continuously banging against the glass. Amy saw Lancers ahead of them "Let go!" they both released the transport which raced ahead and blew up destroying the Lancers. Sharka kept banging on the glass but Anthro soldiers arrived and fired on Sharka. He started tearing them apart with his teeth, but the diversion allowed Amy to lead Undina away.
Saline was leading the clones when he saw the Lancers and Nons retreating "We seem to have won this round". Shadow arrived with the Senators. "We're lucky to have survived the first assault" Striker said. Shadow looked troubled "They could have easily overrun us with their badniks" "They're taking position in the coral, probably amassing for another assault" "Why would they hide in the coral?".
The Lancers made it to the surface of the water and saw two Separatists invasion ships which dropped several large metal hemispheres. Below them Krakiota was swimming through the coral with Sharka "You Egg Lancers are no match for the Anthros. What makes you think these secret weapons will fare any better?" "They are part machine. Part Monsters. We call them Kar-Leks. They are invincible". They saw one of the Kar-Leks, a massive green creature with razor sharp teeth, tentacles, and pincers.
Coral and the others were waiting when she saw Undina "Princess Undina" "Senator Coral. I'm glad to see you're safe" "You must prepare to dictate terms for a Non surrender" "Surrender?". Striker came over "Not so fast, Senator", Undina shook her head "I know the Nons. They won't surrender". Shadow came over "We may have won the first battle, Your Highness, but it won't be the last" "It's only a matter of time before they launch another assault" Striker added. They suddenly saw multiple Kar-Leks rise "We have no defence against those" Undina said but Saline turned to the others "All troops, battle stations". The Anthros and clones all raised their blasters, Undina hesitantly held her trident. "Do not fire until the princess gives the command!" Striker ordered. Undina waited until the Kar-Leks were above them "Attack!" everyone fired at the blasts didn't seem to do anything. Two of the Anthros got grabbed by the pincers and were crushed. Suddenly Lancers appeared from below them, the Shinobi did there best to give them cover "Amy, find a way out of here". Amy went over to Undina "Princess, where's somewhere safe?" "We can't retreat. We've got to be brave" "Your Highness, there's a time to attack and there's a time to retreat, and now is not the time to be brave" Striker said. Undina sighed "The safest place is in the caves" "I agree, Your Highness. Follow me". They all followed him except for Saline "Go. I'll hold them off" Saline used a transport to crash into one of the Kar-Lek killing it but there were still too many. He retreated and followed the others out of reach and made it to the caves.
Krakiota just arrived at the battle with his men "Search the area for survivors and secure the perimeter". Sharka angrily swam up to him "What took your snakes so long?" "I didn't think you and your badniks would need backup. Your reputation is a little exaggerated". Sharka got threateningly closer to him "Exaggeration is a weapon of war. It's what helped deliver the enemy into your hands" "Then let's be thankful this is our day a victorious day that-". Sharka grabbed his throat "Disobey a command from Dimitri again, and I will kill you where you stand".
The group were hiding in the caves. Striker swam over to Undina who was speaking to Amy "Thanks to you, Commander Rose, and to these brave soldiers. I wish I could have done more for my people. Maybe then we should have been spared all of this, the illusion that I could actually lead in my father's place". Striker shook his head "Your father would be proud of you" "Proud? We lost" "Today you learn the hardest lesson a commander can learn: How to live to fight another day".
