Chapter 11
Those hits, from the blaster bolts and from Bo-Katan hit me harder than I thought. I had to spend some days in the med-center to recover. Nothing overly bad but they wanted to keep an eye on my spline and one rib didn't fare well.
But I'm well again now and Bo-Katan has promised me a ship so I can get away from here. I had planned to go back to Nevarro, but the letter that beeped in on my comm a couple of days ago made me change my mind. It was from your Jedi, the one who's called Luke and who was the one who took you away.
Dank Farrik, I'm rambling. Of course you know his name already. After all you've been living with him these weeks.
"Dear Mando,
I don't know your real name but I got your comm channel from a mutual friend, Ahsoka Tano. I understand from her that you've been the caretaker for the child for a while now and that the kid has formed some attachments to you.
I have tried to bond with him, but he's a stubborn little one, and moreover, I think he's still not ready for any real jedi training. His attachments are too strong and even with his long lifespan he may be too young.
And that's why I'm contacting you. I think he would be a lot happier if he could stay with you, at least for a few more years. I'll be more than happy to take him as a learner when he has matured but…well… he tends to keep distance except for the one incident when he force lifted my nephew and held him upside down for a while. At least he didn't drop him. (Might have helped though, that kid is a handful and then some.)
So, I wonder if you would like come and meet with us and we could discuss his future more in detail? After all we didn't have time for that last time we met.
Best wishes,
Luke Skywalker.
Well, kid, do I have to say that we will soon meet again?
Your
Dad
