"Erza! No! Please open your eyes. It was my fault! I am so sorry!" a little blue-haired boy said while nudging a badly wounded little girl.

She had scarlet hair and she was wearing a torn little dress. The little scarlet-haired girl opened her eyes slightly and gave him a little smile.

"It's not your fault. I am fine. Don't worry, we will escape together!"

She grabbed his hand and got up. They started to run to escape the place and they soon faced the door of escape. Suddenly the boy stumbled and fell. As soon as the girl was about to help him, a group of men spotted the boy and grabbed him.

"Go Erza! Don't look back!"

The girl sprinted out of the door and tears ran out of her eyes.

"I promise I am going to come back for you!" the little girl said for the last time as she left the place with a promise.

BUZZ! BUZZZ!

Erza rubbed her sleepy eyes as she was woken up from her usual dream by her annoying alarm. It wasn't only a dream, it was a real nightmare or rather a memory of the past that haunted her every single day.

She got up from her bed and headed to the washroom. She was very exhausted. After all, she was the deputy police chief of the Magnolia Police Department.

She did her morning routine and dressed in her police uniform.

"Erza, isn't it a Sunday morning? You are supposed to hang out with us today, not go to work!" a white-haired girl said, peeking her head from the door of Erza's bedroom.

"Mirajane, I am the deputy of the police department! I have a lot of work. We can hang out next weekend."

"Umm... I guess I have to tell the girls that you're not joining us at the annual baker's fest at the best bakery in Magnolia. What a pity!"

"WHAT?! You are going to the baker's fest! Umm... you know what? The work is not that important. So for today, I can skip work. I can do the work tomorrow!"

Mirajane chuckled in triumph. She knew that Erza would not ever skip anything that had to do with sweet baked goods.

(And when I say ever, I mean NEVER EVER.)

Erza's mind flooded with thoughts of those amazing delicacies. Her mouth started to water as she imagined those beautiful strawberry cakes she wanted to buy, kept in front of her. Oh, what a sweet tooth she was!

Noticing Erza's daydreaming face, Mirajane gently shook her shoulders making her come out of her trance.

"Aren't you going to change out of your police uniform first?"

Realizing that she was still in her uniform, she gave a nod before shutting the door off. Changing into some rather comfortable clothes but she still carried a gun just in case, because you never know what might happen at the most unexpected times. Once she was done, she headed downstairs only to meet the bustling chatter of the dormitory.

Sensing the 'aura' of Erza, the chatter died down along with Natsu and Gray who knew better than to fight in front of Erza. Seeing the dormitory hall prevailed with peace, her face erupted in a small smile, confusing some of her co-workers since it wasn't always that Erza was in an amazing mood.

"You seem in a great mood, Erza. Is it because of the baker's fest that is going to be held today?" Lucy asked, smiling at the scarlet-haired woman.

"Yes! I am so excited! You're coming too, right?"

Lucy nodded in response to Erza's question. She knew how the scarlet-haired woman was ecstatic during this very 'special' day.

"Let's go to the baker's fest everyone!" Erza cheered loudly, her face gleaming.

If only she knew what was awaiting her at the baker's fest...

"Oh my Gosh! Look at this magnificently beautiful strawberry cake! I'm so happy today!"

Erza's eyes gleamed with excitement as she looked at her strawberry cake. No one really paid attention to her especially Natsu who kept stuffing himself with a mountain of baked goods.

"I don't even know how you still stay fit after eating mountains of food!" Lucy snorted at the pink-haired man who was busy swallowing food, not paying attention to her remark.

Just as Erza was about to have the first bite of her precious cake, a gunshot went off sending everyone in the bakery into a panic.

Erza stood up, knowing the gunshot wasn't quite ordinary. Heading to the area where it was aired, she was only met with a bloodied man. Turning his body around, she realized the man was dead.

Everyone else had come after her, seeing the same sight as they quickly called an ambulance.

Erza rather felt a sense of dread, as the thought of how the man could be saved if she was a bit earlier. As she was still lost in thought, a man in a mask and a black hoodie, brushed his shoulder past her dazed self, making her come back to her senses. Their eyes met for only a second, but it was more than enough for Erza to feel something was unusual about this man.

'His eyes are so familiar... It feels like I have seen those eyes before...' Erza thought as the man disappeared from her sight.

"Good job, Mystogan. You have made me proud yet again..."

The man smiled smugly at the man named Mystogan. Mystogan took off his mask and let down his hoodie, smiling back at the man.

"I don't think I have ever failed you," He said, fixing his messed up hair.

"Then you should be ready for your next mission, Mystogan."

"Eliminate Erza Scarlet..."
