hello there, this is a.. Fanfic about Amber, you know, the lowest character on tierlist of Genshin Impact ?
the Wholesome gliding champion of Mondstat ? yeah her, aside from her... low combat capabilities, she's a totally great character.several player still mained her, despite the hate. including me.
in this Fic, this will explore the journey of Amber becoming a stronger person, carving her way trough destiny, finding a reason why did she bleesed with a Vision and many more.
including spoilers from : Characters Quest, the main story so far, and the manga. (read the rest on mangadex if you haven't finished it since the offical english translation isn't complete.)
"you can't run away this time !" said a young girl with a red attire. "how did you get to be so good... teach me how to cook as good as you , will ya ?"
"hmmm, Paimon think you should listen to Amber, or else she won't stop" a Floating creature named Paimon talk to the Traveller named Aether. "it's been a while since the Knight have a break anyway, since master Jean work is clean for the time being"
Aether smiles, it's been a tiring week anyway, after all that happened in Liyue maybe he need a break after all with his first local friend.
"Alright, but you need to listen carefully ok ? since I pity your 'Outrider Champion Steak' " he said jokingly.
"hey ! that was in progress okay ? a lot of improvement happened since then !" Amber said grumply while huffing in the end. "I won't lie but that sticky honey roast was so good, that sweet madame too, I -"
"alright alright, it's hard to say no to you anyway, let's start hunting first"
"wow, Paimon can't wait anymore ! more tasty food ! and Sticky Honey Roast !" Paimon filled with exitement, it's unknown how much food she able to take.
"said the one who said it might taste 'a little bit funky'..." Aether responded.
"Paimon have doubts too ! could be wrong but it's all good in the end, alright let's not waste time, time to hunt !"
after a while
"- and then add the sweet flower extract sauce there. let the fowl absorb the seasonings -" the blonde traveler explained the steps to Amber while Amber herself trying her best not to mess this up.
"wow, that already smells amazing !" Amber commented.
in the back is Paimon who 'observing' the pair feeling a little left behind. "Xiangling really help you to learning the food making basics." she speaks up.
"Xiangling ? the renowned chef from Liyue !?" Amber seemed to know her name. "wait.. is that girl with short hair and a bear ?? who drooling everytime she looking at herbs and slimes on springvale that time ?"
"oh it seems you met her Already"
"not really I was scouting around and saw whatever she was doing, but she didn't look suspicious at all, unlike someone with floaty mascot"
"HMMMPH ! PAIMON IS A -"
"... Emergency food. right ?" the blonde traveller adds in.
"Hmmph ! hmmph !"
"ahahaha !" both Amber and the traveller laugh out loud. "sorry, Paimon but you're his Tour guide right ? I bet he glad to have you around"
"really ??? Paimon thinks he just like to make fun of Paimon.." said Paimon while folding her hands
"that means he feel comfortable, and familiar around you" the red archer commented.
"can't deny that" Aether speaks up. "to be honest I'll be glad if you could join traveling alongside me too" he said while facing Amber.
"wh- what ?" she felt warm inside and it make herself grinning a bit but it would be embarassing if he sees it , and instead she change the topic "Ah ! the foods ready"
the group starts eating under the Teyvat clear sky, where the stars can be seen shining bright up there.
"ah Paimon's full now, that steak of yours is tasty too, definitely far more better than last time" Paimon looks like she satisfied after eating so much.
"you make some improvement I see" the traveller adds.
"well I can't dissapoint your expectation can I ? but it no where near as good as yours" she's blushing a little as she said it.
"excuse Paimon, will be back in a jiffy after washing hands and getting some fresh air"
after Paimon is gone, both Aether and Amber start began cleaning, knowing Paimon is probably just didn't want (or not able) to do cleaning jo
"ah that little mascot is probably just running away from cleaning duty, yet she eat more than both of us" say the red archer followed by a huge sigh. she lean her back on the tree behind her to rest.
"well she never bother do it ever since I met her, so please get use to it" after done cleaning he began to lean on the tree beside Amber. and set his eyes to the clear skies full of stars, it somehow makes him miss his homeworld. "Mona said something about your fate and destiny is written on the stars, I wonder what fate has in store for you, you should ask Mona to read you, maybe there's greatness awaits you"
"I am... not really into that kind of thing, besides what does fate have for a mere Outrider like me..." Amber who usually have a carefree attitude and total confindence, show her other side, she did felt left behind, she's no one of importance, at least that what she feel.
"then why didn't you travel the world with me ? see where does that leads you ?" Aether smiles a little, he's not used to seeing Amber opens up about her worry feeling. "I know it's hard since you're the last Outrider of the Knight, but there's always a slot for you to join me, I can wait for your answer..."
after hearing those words, she almost can't contain her exitement.
'what does the stars have for me ? will I be the teyvat's gliding champion ? will I meet her again ? will I able to help Aether find his lost sister ?' those question lingers in the outrider's mind. but most importantly 'could I find Grandfather if I join Aether on his journey ? Am I... deserve to be with him ? ah I meant, did I deserve to travel alongside him ?'
Amber shakes her head, not letting all those question bug her mind. and speakup "Traveller, I -... huh ?" she blinking several times, as she finds out that Aether is sleeping beside her.
'someday, I will... I will make myself stronger and worthy to walk beside you on your Journey' she thinks to herself as she slowly drifted into sleep.
after remembering that moment, Amber let out a giggles beneath the clear sky of Mondstat. beside a camp fire near Wolvendom.
"*munch munch*" a boy can be heard eating something. "sorry. I eat. loud" he have silver long hair with rugs around his body.
"that's okay, nobody's around so you could chew it like never before !" Amber give him a warm smile knowing her steak is good enough for him.
"Red girl, your. face is red. you sick ?" Razor pointed out about Amber's bright red cheeks.
"hmm ? oh ! no no I am fine ! but Razor, when you get to the city, you could eat a little slowly. I will teach you the basic manners" she divert the topic into a completely diffent topic.
"Is city. have tasty. more food. like this ?"
"you bet they have ! they will welcome you, you've met Bennet didn't you ? he will be glad to have you there "
"why. still you want me. to city ?" the wolf boy asking while still munching the steak that Amber gave.
"ah.. that you know umm.. " she reminiscing about a girl with messy green hair that she knew, it's been a year since she last saw her. Razor reminds her of that green haired girl. "you just, reminds me of a girl I knew"
"Is she. *munch* with a Wolfpack too ?"
"nah, she's... different from the rest of us, she does have tails. but that beside the point, she was an exile. no one wanted to accept her too, it's just.. " she pauses "you're kinda similiar to her, I can't imagine how hard it is for you two going trough life like this"
"thank you. red Arrow girl. Amber. you kind" Razor give her a happy expression to Amber.
"don't mention it ! as an Outri- uh.. ahaha ! I say that words too much huh ? and Finally ! you call me by my name, honesty.." her nickname isn't as amazing as 'red burny girl', but atleast Razor call her by her name. "... we will need to work on your verbal and vocabulary before we got to city -"
"HELP ! HELP US !" a several villagers can be seen running from something. "A KNIGHT !? THANK BARBATOS, ah... it's just the Scout girl *sigh* "
she quickly dismiss the sign of disappointment in the villagers voice. but Razor seems to be unhappy about how the villager treat Amber.
"no talk bad. to He-" just about when he about to finish his sentance, the Scout girl give him 'it's okay' look and a bitter smile.
"State your emergency, dear citizen of Mond !"
"miss Amber ! miss Amber !" suddenly a child came running from behind the villagers.
"what's the matter little one ?" she ask as she kneel in front of the scared little girl. "have no fear cause the best Outrider is here !"
"a fluffy mages and Hilicurls is attacking the village.. everyone is running away !"
she Quickly ran to the of the lake side and notices that the whole squad of knights is busy dealing with floating anemo slimes. she were thinking it will leave the front gate left unguarded while a dozens of enemy marching towards the front gate ...
"Razor can you help evacuate them ? find someplace safe ?"
"but, Arrow girl. what are you going to do ?"
"I will find gather remaining survivor.."

"I can't believe I asked for his help to distract the ever incompetent Knights of Favonious.." Diluc let out a massive sighs, before summoning his Claymore. Kaeya somehow know about the siege and lend Diluc a hand, since the traveller isn't around this time. "... isn't this getting old ? leave before -"
he notices that the army strength is doubled since last time. he knew they wouldn't listen to him anyway.
"Suit yourself... TIME FOR... RETRIBUTION !" he swings his massive claymore and summons fiery bird that burn anything on it's path. "BUURNNNN !!!"
not far from there an elite Abbys mage can be seen observing the strength of the 'Darknight Hero'.
"the Princess shhhhhshhh Shall know this, this one strength and popoPowerrr ! !" said the observer with a lot of hissing, it pretty impressed by Diluc's strength. and start floating elsewhere.
not long after
Amber arrives on the scene, the village raided, the houses burnt, some house even frozed. there's several villagers that were left behind and being chased by hilicurls.
"AHHH !! HEELPP PLEASEEE SOMEBODYYY !" reckless Pallad and other survivor crying for help.
"Hey overhere ! " she says while she throw Pyro engulfed peebles to hit the chaser heads. knocking them out.
"thank you ! I will catchup with others" the villagers were grateful and ran towards the rest of survivors.
Amber heard some weird machine noises, a familiar one, since the village is liberated she head towards uphills, she saw someone along side 2 Ruin Guards, talking to an Abbys mage.. a blonde person with exotic clothes, is that Aether ? no no, it's female. does that mean ...
the said person is looking at the chaos unfold on the bridge, watching and examines every move happens.
"excuse me ? is your name Lumine ?" Amber approach the said blonde girl with caution calling her name.
"grahh ! someone's here !" the Abbys mage shouts
"get rid of the intruder..." said the blonde girl. she wave her right hand giving a signal for the ruin guards to attack Amber.
"what the - HEY ! YOU DIDN'T EVEN - GRRHH!" the outrider is pissed that the blonde girl wasn't even look on her way, instead commanding the machine to attack her.
"ah, brother, you made some strong companion along y-" suddenly she stops.
(*grgrgrg..crash*) the sound of loud crashing can be heard, the ruin guads have been dealt with.
"Gayaya ! howww... " the cryo Abbys mage is confused on how Amber can deal with 2 Ruin guards.
"those things is my target practice dummy, now, care to explain why -"
"dispose of her..." the princess waste no time telling the mage to end Amber, and the mage start to use his teleport to move behind her.
but Amber said..
"let it rain !" the moment the mage teleport behind the outrider a barrage of fire arrow rained down on him disabling his shield and make him fall to the ground.. making him dizzy.
Amber engulf her feet with Pyro and roundhouse kick the said mage to the face, knocking him out.
"Lumine ! your brother worried about you ! what are you.. Aether se- GRHHKH"
suddenly an unknown force pulling her, it's stranggling her, it feels like Lumine is chocking her and bringing her closer.
"oh brother, why would you even talk to this weakling.." she seems pity her brother.
"don't UNDERESTI-"
"underestimate you ? you're even beneath our notice... " said the princess. "ah a god's gift, from the god of war herself no less..." she starts to take a look on Amber's Pyro vision, and start to clench it with her her hand..
'Pyro Archon.. !? no noo.. what is she doing !?' Amber watching helplessly as she seeing her Vision are about to be crushed by Lumine.
"Pl-eese don't do thi-..."
".. I hate what the Archons did, let me take away what THEIRS AS THEY TOOK WHAT WA- !" as the vision began starting to crack, a light radiate from her vision suddenly. "- WAHHH !!" a dark red fire engulf the princess hand, hurting her.
Amber dropped to the ground, she didn't have any clue of what's happening, but she as she free from her telekinetic effect she intent to fight back while the princess harmed by the fire.
she readied her bow and gather the pyro power but.. nothing happening, she can't cast her fire arrow, nor engulf her hand with Pyro.
by the time the Princess done put out the fire on her hand, Amber was about to fight back with her bow, but...
an invisible force snatch the bow out of her hand, she notices that the princess is getting mad and...
(*crush*)
a broken wood sound can be heard, her bow is crushed by Lumine's power.
"NOOOO !!!" Amber screamed, she can't believe what she just saw, her own hunting bow, that she made herself long time ago now gone. a tear began to flow on her cheeks "WHY DID -"
"if I can't get rid of Archon's gift, atleast I can get rid of the user" she choke the neck of saddened outrider with her telekinetic power, ever tighter to kill her.
'is this it for me ?' she think to herself as she struggling to breate. 'is this the end ? with me not able to find Granddad, meet.. Collei.. and will not able to.. see him again, Traveller I --' the tears flowing from her eyes.
her vision starting to fade and the lights starts to become blurry...
the wind around have become colder and the atmosphere has became dark all around. someone.. or something is coming.
(*GROOOWLLLLL*)
suddenly a loud wolf growl can be heard getting closer, followed by a loud step from a giant creature.
"FOUL ENEMY ! LEAVE THIS LAND AT ONCE ! GROOOOWLLLL !!!" the great guardian spirit Andrius of Wolvendom came, surprising the princess, making her letting Amber off her telekinetic power, and make her dropped to the ground.
(*THUD*)
as she lying on the ground she saw the princess make a run to a dark colored portal, tries to escape, but before she walk into it, she relay a words.
"you might be lucky this time, you wouldn't understand why" she pauses "but if you see my brother again, tell him 'we will be reunited after the dust is settled..'" and then she dissapear to the black mist from the portal she made.
"Red Girl, AMBER ! Breathe !" Razor came alongside Andrius the great wolf to rescue her.
but Amber vision has become blurry and more blurry as her consciousness leaving her body and all she able to see now is a dark, pitch black...
