Chapter 3: A Targaryen Alone in the World is a Terrible Fate
Meereen 10 years after the Battle of King's Landing
Meereen the greatest city in The Bay of Dragons (Formerly known as Slaver's Bay), The three Great Pyramids now topped with great statues of Viserion , Rhaegal and on the biggest pyramid and Rhaego's home Drogon. His brothers forever standing guard of this city for the last 5 years. In the city center is the giant beautiful Statue of the Breaker of Chains, The Mother of Dragons, Queen Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen.
"Mother" Rhaego whispered with sadness filling his lavender eyes as his looked down at the Giant Statue that could be about size of the smallest pyramid
Rhaego King of the Bay of Dragon's now 18 and has grown into a very handsome young man. Rhaego has long braided Valyrian Sliver blonde hair with black roots, his lavender purple eyes harden almost distance from all the he has lost, his skin is pale cooper also like his father, Rhaego has a slim but muscular build from the years of training. He is not tall like his father only 5'10.
As the Young King stands staring at his mother statue a man who has been like a father to him after he was smuggled out of Westeros in the dead of night after the Great Council decide his fate which would be to go North with Queen Sansa to live out his days with his arranged marriage to Erena Glover when they get older. Daario puts his hand on Rhaego shoulder.
"I miss her too...I should have done more to stop her I should have go..."Rhaego interrupting Daario mid-sentence.
"No one could have stopped her. Had you gone you could have died too." Rhaego looked at him before turn back to the Statue of his mother as he sighs. Rhaego turns and walks into the massive room of his in silence. Daario watches him go giving His queen a last look before going to his King's side.
"The Bay of Dragon's is stable for now Volantis has return to their city after the last battle with them at the Black Cliff. So, we shouldn't have to worry about them for a while." Daario said hopeful for some peace for a bit. Since Queen Daenerys death and Rhaego's return to Meereen, Volantis has launched many attacks against them over the last 10 years. The Triarch of Volantis hated Daenerys and her sons and want nothing more than to kill Rhaego now that she was dead and her last dragon Drogon hasn't been seen near Meereen since Dany left 10 years ago.
Daario sits at the in on chair in front of Rhaego's desk ponders what Daario says as he to takes a sit at his desk. Daario watches him with awe "The little Dragon prince sure has grown into a great man. Daenerys would be very proud of him."
Even after all that happened over in Westeros Rhaego has grown into a strong and good king. In every battle he was on the front-lines with the Dothraki and their new army in Meereen which were former slaves and citizens who have seen the vision of the Dragon Queen and know that Rhaego is the one true king. Rhaego has won battle after battle against all odds with just his army. Without a dragon he doesn't have the fear of the people like his mother did. He alone must show the world that House Targaryen is still very much alive.
Still Rhaego wonders what happened to his mother body and to Drogon after he took off with her after Jon killed her. But Rhaego was 8 when his mother was killed by the hands of her lover and nephew Jon.
Jon or should we say Aegon killed her after she burned King's landing to the ground, Rhaego knows that what she did that day wasn't her but he believes that killing her wasn't right either even now he can't figure out why she did it, was it the madness of the Targaryen's or something else. Rhaego had liked Jon, he could have been truly a part of their family had things gone the ways it should have but this was not a story it was real life no happy ends for Daenerys and there would most likely be no happy ending for Rhaego either. As Aemon said "A Targaryen alone in the world is a terrible fate."
With Jon exiled north to the Night's Watch to lives his days unwed, childless, guarding the realm from no one knows as the Night King is 10 years dead thanks to Arya the Hero of Winterfell, Rhaego is truly alone 10 years with only his mother former lover or Red Priestess and a horde of Dothraki telling him what he should do how he should act. Daario tries to make it feel like a family that he is normal but the statues of his mother and brother forever remind him that he isn't some kid of the common family his is the last hope of House Targaryen and the only hope for Essos being free. With all that pressure on his shoulders it was only a matter of time till he fails his mother's dream and his people and loses this war.
"The Triarch will not be undone so easily. They want my head they will come again and again till they claim it." Rhaego said with a serious but also sorrowful expression. Daario sighed and looked out the doorway to the balcony.
"I know the pressure you are under but needed I remind you to smile for the celebration, the people see this victory as a great sign that peace is on the horizon. And last I checked no one can truly see the future maybe the Triarch will send a beautiful bride for you.
Rhaego laughed at Daario "They will not let their precious blood mix with my traitor blood." a knock at Rhaego's door rang throughout the room.
"Come in" Daario said mid laughter. Daario's laughter soon dies as in walked the other semi parental figure Kinvara the High Priestess of Volantis. Daario has grown to dislike the woman who has done nothing to stop the war, or as she says R'hllor's will.
"My glorious King you are a wonder to be seen, the people worship and cheer for you and your victories. Shall your grace give the people the honor of seeing their king." Kinvara smiled at Rhaego ignoring Daario's glares. Rhaego looked between them and nodded his head.
"I guess I shouldn't keep the people waiting for the celebration." Rhaego got up and head out with Kinvara and Daario close behind.
As The Bay of Dragons celebrates their victory farer west of Meereen, a beautiful girl stands on a balcony overlooking the 200-foot black walls of Volantis and out beyond in the direction of Meereen
A slave girl walks towards the beauty "My lady the lord father summons you to the meeting of the Triarch's families." The slave bows as the young girl sighs.
The beauty in question is the picture of a great Valyrian beauty long sliver blonde hair, pale skin that aluminates in the moonlight and the brightest violet's eyes that held a wisdom beyond her age. She watches the horizon for a moment than turns her head to the direction to old Valyria watching hoping to see the flames of the Fourteen like she has seen in her dreams many nights now.
"The future of this city and the fate of the Dragon King have already been decided, I have seen the signs the fourteen shall erupt and the ash shall rise into a great beast. Only the Dragon King can make this true, those old men will not undo him. It's time for the Volantis to change." with that the young lady turns from the balcony to head to the main hall.
South in the very heart of the ancient ruins of the once great empire of the dragon lords the flames of the fourteen sparks life.
