Chapter 20: Angel Meets Demon
Midoriya's POV
After briefly explaining my history with Nedzu which was made up with 90% lies to my classmates aside Kacchan, we continued on with our Quirk Apprehension Test. First was the 50-meter dash and it was done in pairs like a race. The first pair was Tenya and frog girl and when Aizawa said go, Tenya shot off like a bullet while frog girl hopped as fast as she can but to no avail when it comes to catching up with Iida, since he's an Iida. Next pair was the brown haired girl and tail boy. The girl used her quirk on her feet to lighten up her weight so she could go faster and when it's go time, tail boy manages to outrun her, probably because he trained in martial arts and if I'm not wrong it's karate and since he does train in martial arts, his speed would outmatch hers. Tail boy came first and the girl came last, having 2 extra seconds than him. Next was the glittery Frenchman and pink girl. Frenchman used his laser while pink girl skates towards the end using her acid which impresses me at her control of the viscosity of her acid and she just got to the end a second before frenchy. Next up was Kacchan and I. We both stretched and I took off my top for less weight and rolled up the jogging pants up above my knees, rolling my eyes playfully at the pink and invisible girl's the wolf whistles.
"Ready?" Aizawa asked us as Kacchan positioned his hands behind him and I crouched low and went serious. My eyes shifted and my hair began rising as I start to grin from excitement.
"Ready.""Yup!" Kacchan and I said at the same time.
"Go!" Aizawa announced and I took my first step as Kacchan fired off his first blast. I cracked the ground as I shot off like a bullet, whizzing past Kacchan and past the machine at such speed that would give the Iidas a run for their money before stopping at the end without as much a sweat. I stood up straight and cracked my back and shoulders as Kacchan came 3 seconds late. I chuckled as he nearly tripped and I had to stop him from doing so with my right arm just as I faced the track.
"Easy there brother, don't want you to face plant." I said teasingly. He chuckled as well before standing straight and slapping me on my back in a playful manner.
"Woah!" The boy with yellow hair said in shock.
"How did you get that fast?!" Then followed by the semi tall guy with tape dispensers for elbows.
"Midoriya-kun, do you have some sort of speed quirk?!" Tenya asked and that made me perk up. I looked at him, still serious and my eyes still shifted and said,
"Nah, you'll find my quirk out soon in the future but it ain't a speed one. What I did is all natural."
"EEEEEEEEEEHHHHHH?!" Said most of my classmates to which I chuckled to before I asked Aizawa-sensei what was my time.
"1.02 seconds." He said as he checked the machine that recorded how long it took us to get to the end. Everyone's jaws dropped, including Kacchan's.
"That…that wasn't your top speed wasn't it…?" He asked in slight terror. I eased up and sighed.
"No, I could execute the perfect 3 hit combo in 1 flat second and knock you out in a .5 timeframe. It's all part of my training." I explained to them what I can do in just a matter of seconds, shocking them even more but Aizawa snapped us out of it by telling us it's time to move to the next test. It was the Grip test where Aizawa-sensei gave all of us a hand-held device that reads the force our grip displays in kilograms. I used my left hand for this one before going serious again and squeezing with all my might, resulting in nearly crushing the device and the constant beeping of exceeding the maximum force of 1000kg. Knowing I could do the same with my right hand, I just decided to drop the device then relaxing again. I looked around and saw the shocked faces of my classmates to which I just cheered them on.
"Come on you guys! Give it everything you got! Squeeze!" That snapped them out of it before giving it their all. The next test was the Standing Long Jump. For this, I didn't even need to go serious as I cleared the sandbox quite easily. Next was the repeated side steps to which I went serious again and did just as fast as the grape boy which I quickly and quietly scanned the past 2 hours using my phone and deciding to send all his personal info to Nedzu, hence why I was in his office before we all started the Quirk Apprehension Test. After the repeated side steps, it was time for the ball throw. Everyone threw their ball and the only person that got the highest score out of every one of us was zero grav girl as she used her quirk on the ball and threw it literally to space. It was then my turn to which I removed my top once again and handed it to Kacchan to which he looked at me confused.
"Wait why?" He asked. I glanced back and told him so it wouldn't get torn. Aizawa-sensei tossed me the ball before I stepped in the circle before I told him and everyone else to stand a bit further back to which they did, thankfully. I wind up my arm so far back that it's nearly touching the ground as I went serious again, I grinned maniacally and threw the ball like a professional baseball pitcher, causing the ground beneath me to crack and a shockwave to emit at least 5 feet around me. As the ball soars through the air, I stood straight back up and stretched before turning to Aizawa-sensei.
"So, how far sensei?" I asked, his eyes slightly widened.
"Still going but it's passed a thousand." I shrugged before easing up and walking back to my classmates who are more than shocked as to what they've just felt and witnessed.
"Dude…" The yellow boy muttered.
"You…" The guy with tape dispenser elbows next.
"Are…" Then the pink girl.
"SO MANLY!" And now the red head. I bowed jokingly bowed towards them before I spotted All Might on the side of my vision. I fully looked in his direction and he immediately hid behind the corner. I chuckled before walking back to my class and grabbed my top uniform again then put it back on.
"Dude you didn't even sweat the entire time!" Says the girl with earjacks. I just shrugged and turned around to face Aizawa-sensei. We then did 3 final tests like seated toe-touch, pink girl and I tied up for that, distance run where Aizawa-sensei told me to stop cuz I kept going and sit-ups to which Aizawa-sensei told me to stop as well.
"Alright, the tests are done, follow me if ya wanna see your scores." He then pocketed the phone and started walking towards the building but not towards All Might's side. We followed him till we got to a wall and Aizawa-sensei projected our scores.
'Fuck yeah, #1.'
"Meh, 3's good enough." Kacchan said. I patted him on the head and congratulated him for giving his all. I then saw grape boy started crying because he ended up last. The others comforted him with words, well the boys anyway.
"Well, since you came in last, Mineta you're expelled." Aizawa said casually, with no emotion whatsoever. Then again, the man expelled last year's entire 1-A for having no potential at all. As Mineta was about to make a lewd comment about the spiky ponytail girl's boobs which I assume was Yaoyorozu since she can be easily seen with having the bigger breasts out of every female in our class, I grabbed him by the neck and lifted him up like a cat.
"You wanna finish that sentence or do you want to go back home piece by piece?" I threatened him with a smile. I felt him starting to tremble and shake before he said no.
"And that is why I expelled you, I saw your potential Mineta, but your actions disgust me since I kept a close eye on you all the time. Get out of here." Aizawa explained as I let him go and he fell to the ground to which he started running away crying. I pocketed my hands as Aizawa-sensei told us to go back to the changing rooms to, well, get changed back into our regular uniforms. As we walked back, I noticed someone going through the gate, causing me to stop. My eyes widened at the sight of who it was and my body started shaking ever so slightly. I stared at the person then she looked back at me. The others suddenly started wondering why I stopped and started worrying as well.
"Deku?" Kacchan asked.
"Midoriya-kun?" Tenya asked. I can hear the others calling my name but I couldn't stop staring at the girl who's now grinning and start walking towards me. The others start to corral around me till SHE went serious, releasing her deathly aura while her grin becomes more and more predatory and her hair starts floating upwards, causing everyone to start backing away as she approached.
'Oh God…' As she got close to me, like a foot away close, she looked me up and down before chuckling. My heart was thumping like a jackhammer on steroids as I was looking at the one person Red trained before me as well as the same person that fought All for One and made him BEG without so much of a major injury on her person. This was the same person that killed Red with a punch so devastating that it deactivated his regeneration quirk THREE times. This…demon, was the one that laced fear in the hearts of every country's president or ambassador. I'm not looking at a human anymore, I'm staring at a human turned demon, turned deadly legend in the underworld.
"Well well well, so you're the next one he decided to train the style on eh?" She asked with a bit of glee in her voice. I gulped and nodded.
"Y-Yes mam…" I stuttered. She laughed before petting me on the head and told me,
"Let's spar sometimes yeah?" She asked and that caused my heart to just drop to my stomach and I went pale as hell. She grinned as she can see how deathly afraid I am of her.
"I wanna see how far you've gotten, maybe you can even knock me out for a slight second." With that, she walked away towards the building. Out of nowhere, I just suddenly asked,
"I-If I may ask, w-what are you d-doing here?" She cackled and said as she turned to me again.
"Didn't he tell you? I'm retired now, I'm gonna be this world's number 1 inventor!." She said with excitement and determination. Then she turned and started walking away again. I didn't even know that I activated my quirk on instinct as Kacchan slapped me out of it, causing me to take deep breaths as if I resurfaced from underwater.
"Whoa easy there Deku. Who the hell was that chick?" Kacchan asked me, worry laced in his voice. I gulped and took a deep breath before looking at that girl who went inside the building.
"That girl, was Mei Hatsume."
"Mei Hatsume?" Asked gravity girl. I nodded shakily before saying more.
"The Demon of the Underground as they call her back in the day. She has a knack for inventing new stuff AKA making babies, as well as fighting. With nothing but her bare hands." I said.
"Wait…don't tell me-." Kacchan said and I nodded.
"Yes, she was the one that killed and brought back The Red Devil 3 times. The one that made the Boogeyman beg for her mercy while she has no major injuries at all."
"Boogeyman?" Asked the yellow haired boy. I clenched my fists in anger and said with venom and disdain,
"All for One."
