Chapter 19

I liked Ivan. He was funny and I could see that he and Dimitri were really close friends. After the first introductions Dimitri and I excused ourselves to get dressed properly, which earned us another inappropriate comment from Ivan. Completely dressed we went into the kitchen / living room and had breakfast together.

"So, what are your plans for today?" Ivan asked again. "We actually planned on spending the day in bed, but you crushed our hopes on doing so." Dimitri answered. "I don't mind, I'll just join you." Ivan ducked before Dimitri could hit him again. I just laughed at the two of them. It was good to see that Dimitri had some other people in his life he could be totally relaxed around.

"What were your plans?" I asked Ivan. "Well, we actually wanted to go and drive some rounds at the indoor karting track." Immediately I wanted to do this. "Sounds like fun. Why won't we do that?" I looked at Dimitri who gave me a funny look. "What?" I asked. "Nothing. I just never thought you'd be up to this." Glaring at him I punched his arm.

"I like her. Really." Ivan declared. After we got ready for good, the three of us headed to Dimitri's car and got in. Ivan, to his dismay, had to get in the back. "How rude. You know me almost your entire life and suddenly, just because of this beautiful woman, I have to sit in the back, like a naughty child."

"You got it dude." I winked at him and took control of the radio. "Sorry Comrade, but I can't take any more of your 80's music." With that I played some of the latest hits. The drive was short and when we entered the place, I was in awe. The place wasn't too full, but there were enough other people around.

"Hey, good to see you two again. How are you doing?" A man with a similar physique to Dimitri's walked towards the two of them and gave them one of these man hugs. "Emil. We're good, how are you? And how is Celeste?" Dimitri greeted that man. Apparently they came here more often than I thought.

"She's doing good. Pregnancy really suits her." His gaze fell on me and he hold out his hand and I shook it.

"Hi, I'm Rose." His look filled with understanding. "Rose. Nice to finally meet you. I'm Emil, the owner of this karting track." Confused I looked at Dimitri.

"I might have told him about this girl I really loved and missed after I broke things off…" Dimitri admitted embarrassed. "That's sweet Comrade. But we're both lucky we realized we're better together then." I teased him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Now stop that flirting and get ready to lose on the track." Ivan interrupted us. "You wish!" and with that we got ready to drive. After the first misguided attempts, I quickly got the hang of it and managed to be the first one to cross the finish line.

"Eat slugs!" I cheered after the two of them got off the tracks and I danced my dance of victory.

"Not nice." Ivan chastised. "I need a rematch." Laughing I nodded and the second time around Dimitri overtook me in the last second, but at least Ivan was still behind us.

"You don't have luck today." I declared and the three of us sat down to have a break and eat something.

"I can't believe I got beaten by a woman." He shook his head. "Twice." I added. "That's not helping, you devilish woman." He glared at me, but I could see he wasn't really upset. "I see the two of you are getting along perfectly." Dimitri put his arm around me and gave me a kiss on the temple.

After driving four more races, in one of them Ivan finally managed to beat me, we said our goodbyes to Emil and headed back to Dimitri's. "Thank you for today." I kissed Dimitri. "You're welcome." He grinned at me. "Hey! Where is my kiss?" Ivan chimed in. "Wait." I came over to him and leaned in as if to kiss him. At the last moment though, I simply said. "Not going to happen." I winked at him and trailed after Dimitri and inside his apartment.

"Won't you do something about your woman?" He asked his best friend. "Why should I? Because she didn't want to kiss another man a kiss that isn't her boyfriend?" he asked raising one eyebrow. Dammit, I still couldn't do this. "Hey. I'm your best friend, so it's technically like she would kiss you." He tried to explain. "Don't think so." Dimitri simply shrugged.

We spent some more minutes talking, well actually they talked and I enjoyed watching them, when suddenly my phone rang. It was Lissa.

"Hello Liss." I answered and the left the two men alone. "Hay Rose. When are you going to be home?" she asked me. Her voice made it clear she had something to talk to me about. "In about an hour, why?" my mother told me to be home at seven and it was almost six by now. "Nothing, just wanted to ask you something. See you then." She hang up before I could utter another word. That was strange. Guess I needed to wait until I got home to find out what she wanted to ask me.

Joining the other two in the living room again hey stopped speaking as soon as they noticed me. "Lissa just wanted to know when I'll be home." I told them.

"Who is Lissa? A hot friend of yours?" Ivan wiggled his eyebrows. "You're unbelievable." I shook my head slightly. "She's kind of my sister and she has a boyfriend." I added looking at him sternly.

Ivan opened his mouth but Dimitri cut him off. "We need to start getting ready if you want to be home on time." He was right. Time always flew by if you enjoyed yourself. Today was such a day.

"Can you survive saying goodbye to me, little racer?" Ivan hugged me. "Just barely." My voice was dripping with sarcasm.

"Oh, you're hurting my feelings." He laughed and gave Dimitri a hug as well. "I had fun today. I'll see you again. Hopefully soon." With a wink at me he left and Dimitri rolled his eyes. "He's nice." I said and embraced Dimitri. "I'm glad the two of you got along. Now come and get ready. I don't want to enrage your parents by dropping you off too late."

Before I knew it, we drove in front of our house and I leaned in to give Dimitri a kiss goodbye. "Thank you for this incredible weekend."

"I'm happy you enjoyed it a much as I did." He kissed me again and I left the car.

Getting inside I was immediately met with Lissa. "Oh, hey." She looked nervous. "What's wrong Liss?" She ushered me to follow her and I trailed behind her and into her bedroom. "Liss, you're really scaring me? Is something wrong? Did something happen with Christian?" She quickly shook her head no. "Everything is going perfect with him. A little bit too perfect if you ask me. He wants me to meet his aunt next weekend." Not getting what she was so afraid of I voiced my thoughts. "But why do you freak out about this? She already knows you. Haven't you met Christian through her, kind of?"

Shrugging her shoulders she played with the hem of her shirt. "Yes, but now that we are dating it's like meting her officially for the first time. The last time I met Aaron's parents, it went horribly wrong." It was then that realization dawned on me. When she met her ex's parents it wasn't exactly the perfect first meeting. Or actually it was a catastrophe. His mother noticed her scars on her arms and immediately shut down. She even attacked her parents for not taking better care of her, which was when Lissa exploded about her parents being dead and therefor the reasons for her scars. The meeting even made her cut herself again, since it was so horribly.

"Yes. But this time it won't be that way. If you are concerned about it ask Christian to tell his aunt about your parents in advance. But after what you told me about his parents' fate I don't think she would look down on you for it. Actually I think she might already know about what happened to your family. She is friends with Adrian's family and she must have known about what happened for years because of this." My voice seemed to calm her.

"Thank you." She said and hugged me. "Everything for you." I meant it with everything I have. I would always be there for her. "Since you're saying this." In this instance I knew I wouldn't like what she had to say to me. "Would you join us?" my eyes widened. This was something I wouldn't want to join. "Liss."

"Please. You can even bring Dimitri. That way I can meet him and you can meet Christian. The two of them can get to know each other. They would need to know each other since I think they'll be along for longer and we are inseparable." She looked at me with her big green eyes. Inseparable my ass. Where was this when she found out about Dimitri? Immediately I stopped my inner voice. I wanted to forget about what happened. We had talked it through and were now over it.

"Rose. Please?" she asked again when I hadn't answered yet. "Fine." I resigned myself to the situation. She always won when she asked me with that look in her eyes. "But I'll first have to ask Dimitri if he is up to meeting together with us."

Lissa shrieked in joy and hugged me again. "Thank you. It's kind of a double date."

"Despite the fact that your boyfriend's aunt will join us." I rolled my eyes. The rest of the evening we planned everything for the double date and when Lissa left for her own room I picked up my phone.

"Belikov." He answered immediately. In his voice I could hear that he was focused on something work related and picked up without checking the caller ID.

"This is an automatic call to check in whether you are satisfied with the girlfriend you got." This was met with a perfect laugh of his. Every time he laughed a joyful shiver ran all over my body. "Mhm… let me think about this." Opening my mouth in shock I glared at my ceiling as I laid on my bed. "Are you serious?"

Laughing again he made me smile involuntarily. "Of course not. I'm perfectly happy with the one I got. What can I do for my amazing girlfriend?"

"You are such a sweet talker. But indeed there is something you can do for me." How should I phrase this and would he be up to this weird kind of double date plus one?

"Yes Roza? Are you still there?" His voice took me back into the presence and I took a deep breath before asking him. "Would you join me and Lissa when she is meeting her boyfriend and his aunt? She is nervous about meeting his aunt for the first time since they became an item." Holding my breath I waited for his answer.

"That's it? You kind of scared me before. I thought there was something more difficult you wanted me to do." Letting out my breath I listened. "Of course I'll accompany you. It's about time I meet some of your friends."

"You already know Lissa and since I don't know her boyfriend nor his aunt either, you're not really meeting any of my friends." I clarified which was again met with a chuckle of his.

"It doesn't matter. Besides that, I'll meet Lissa for the first time as your boyfriend and not just your father's business partner."

I was relieved he wanted to accompany me and we talked some more before both of us needed to go to sleep. Although it had only been two days it felt weird to sleep alone again. I got so accustomed to sleep wrapped in Dimitri's embrace. Or simply next to him when we laid separately while sleeping.

I wondered if he felt the same way. My dreams were about our day at the racing tracks. But this time it was only Dimitri and I there. We drove until we couldn't laugh anymore because our stomachs ached. Then we joined another form of sport. A physical activity way more intimate. It felt adventurous doing it at the tracks.

When I woke up my cheeks blushed from the naughty dream I just head, but at the same time I was exited and planned on initiating something this adventures in the future. Probably not at the racing tracks, somewhere less public, but at the same time more public than his bedroom.

I spent most of the day dreaming about what we could do and where we could do it. Wondering whether he would agree to this, I couldn't help but blush. Luckily none of my friends seemed to have noticed the direction of my daydreams. This would have been embarrassing and they still had no idea I was dating Dimitri. Something I needed to change rather sooner than later.
