It had been two days since Lulu's birthday. Yuya woke up to a nudge on his shoulder.

It was Yuto, "get up we have school today." he whispered.

"Yeah I know just 5 more minutes." Yuya said back.

"No you need to get up early today is the midterm exams." Yuto said.

"Wait seriously?" Yuya said shooting up. He jumped out of bed grabbed his clothing and rushed into the bathroom. He came down 2 minutes later and saw everyone was already down stairs. He grabbed his backpack and everyone went to home room.

"I'm excited for the midterms, I wonder what they will be like?" Yuzu asked.

"What do you mean it's a test, I mean a test is a test isn't it?" Ruri asked.

"Well from what I heard it's not a paper test but actually a dueling test." Rin said.

"A dueling test? That's great I was worried about having to fill out a paper test." Yugo said a look of anxiety turning to excitement. The two groups arrived at home room and quickly took there seats. Yuma sat at the front desk as he waited for everyone to arrive. The class soon filled up and Yuma got up and walked to the promethium board.

"Yuma, this is very important and we can't afford to have the children not paying attention so I should probably explain this." Astral spoke in Yumas head.

"Oh no fair," Yuma replied but Astral separated anyways.

"Okay class," he began "As some of you may already know this is a dueling test not a paper test," he said. A small murmur went through the class but Astral cleared his throat and everyone quieted down. "You will work with a random partner to take on one of the teachers." he continued. But this time in instead of murmurs came protests.

"We can't beat a teacher" a couple of students said.

"Well if you will let me finish, the teachers will all be equipped with weights equal to a third of the monsters body weight." Astral explained. "Now if everyone has calmed down I will go on to explain how you pass." He continued. "You will be put in a random action field with 30:00 minutes. The action field will have an exit. The first way to win is to get any one member of your duo through that exit. The second way to win break the weights that are attached to the teaches. The final way to win is to force your teacher back into card form." Astral explained. "Any questions?" Astral asked. "If not let's go," Astral said floating through a wall and out of the room.

They arrived at the action fields and saw a good dozen teachers as well as principal Atem and principal Yugi waiting.

"I'm assuming Yuma already explained." Atem boomed.

"Yes," said a collaboration of multiple students.

"Well than here are a the teams, Yuri S. and Serena K., Sora P. and Gon S., Yugo S. and Rin K., Yuto S. and Ruri K., Soul M. and Syrup S., Shun K. and Dennis M., Yuya S. and Yuzu K., etc..." it took him a good ten minutes to go through the whole list.

"The first match will be Yuri S. and Serena K. versus Jaden Yuki." Atem announced. Yuya and the others went to the viewing station.

"Do you think they stand a chance?" Ruri asked.

"I don't know," said Yuto "They say professor Yuki holds the title as the best fusion duele at in the world."

"I trust in those two, they are both great dulests." Yuya said, his ever constant smile present. "I mean they both have incredible destructive power, and can strategize well." Yuya announced confidently.

"True, but they will have to air on the side of caution, Jadens monsters are supposed to be warrior class hero monsters with high attack, defense, speed, and powerful abilities." Came Shuns voice from behind them. "But, I do agree with Yuya, their both powerful, and Serena is fast so if they can get past their own egos then while Yuri holds him off she should be able to escape." He continued.

"Yeah but that's a pretty big if" Rin responded.

"Professor Yuki, I have to say I'm quite excited to have you as a opponent." Yuri said, his signature shit eating grin present.

"Yes actually I'm excited for this to, you to are my students with highest grades and both seem to be excellent fighters." Jaden replied, a smile in his face.

"Random action generator activate, action field "sky scraper city," the robotic voice boomed. Suddenly hundreds of massive buildings shot up, each at least 10 stories high. "Students choose your monsters," the voice commanded.

"Starving Venom Fusion Dragon" Yuri announced, turning into his signature monster.

"Lunalight Cat Dancer" Serena said, also turning into her signature monster.

"Hmmm Yuri made a bad choice, I mean I know Starving venom is his signature monster but there isn't much space to maneuver and there are lots of places to hide from his long range attacks," Sora said joining them, pockets stuffed with candy.

"Yeah but in the other hand Cat Dancer is complimented by this land scape" Zuzu said.

"Okay it's time, Elemental Hero Neos!" Jaden called out.

"This is bad, that's profesor Yuki's ace monster." Shun said."Plus now they have to worry about contact fusion, but he has to hold back right, there is no way he's allowed to used that" Shun thought.

"Hey I remember that monster he used it to help set up for the Romeo and Juliet play." Yuya said.

"Yeah and if I remember correctly it was really strong" Yuzu said with concern.

"3, 2, 1, Begin!" boomed the robotic voice.

Bonus scene: Yuris revenge

"That was so much fun!" Ruri said.

"I know it's been so long since we went shopping, just us four girls." Rin said cheerfully.

The four girls headed up stairs, Serena's room coming first she entered. "Oh my god what happened, it's terrible." Serena screamed. The other three girls looked inside o see the room covered in bright pink with unicorn pillows and posters of famous guys, as well as a small note from Yuri saying it was the first part of his revenge.

"Oh my god, he girlified Serenas room" Ruri said.

"Wait, if he did this to our Serenas room what about ours!" Rin screamed. They ran over to Rin's room only to see everything intact. That's when Rin saw a small blinking light coming from her computer. She opened her computer and gasped. "Noooooo" Rin screamed.

"What?" the other two asked.

"He deleted all the duel runner data" she explained. The other two rushed to their rooms. Yuzu opened her room to almost faint. It was covered in Yuya posters. Yuzu blushed a dark shade of tomato red. Ruri peaked in and instantly saw the differance. Genarlly she would tease her about it but instead rushed to her room. She opened it and saw nothing different except for a note. Her sisters came in to see a baffled Ruri as she reread the note. The note said Yuto would kill me if I did something to you."Looks like someone has got herself an admirer" Rin teased. Ruri's face matched Yuzu's face earlier in a shade of tomato.

Hey it's late so this won't be a very long authors note. Glad to finally have this chapter done. Just broke through a month long writer's block. Yes this is the start of a Ruri Yuto ship. I'm sure you all expected it. I'll try to update quicker this time. Hope you all enjoyed.
