Hello again…

Once again I am sorry that I was late with this story, in addition to my homework, I also lost and changed some things to close this story for this month since very soon I will have a greater responsibility that I will barely have time to publish.

With nothing more to say, I'll let you read chapter 24

It's not easy to say sorry

As the two spotted owls talked and made up for lost time, Jewel awoke from her long but exhausting sleep. Feeling a lot of heat in her body which left her surprised since she was aware that the climate was cold and not warm like the jungle.

She starts dreaming. Hard to say sorry from Chicago, hope you like it

Everybody needs a little time away

I heard her say from each other

(Jewel recognizes the place where it all started and notices the bandage on her chest)

Even lovers need a holiday

Far away from each other

(He looks around and gets up from the pillow to see if there was anyone else)

Hold me now

It's hard for me to say

I'm sorry

(Meanwhile, in the recovery room, Linda enters and with a little desperation hugs Blu who was still talking to Tomada)

I just want you to stay

After all that we've been through

I will make it up to you

(Blu corresponds to her friend's hug with the little strength she had while Tomada, Tulio and Giselle watched the beautiful moment)

I promise to

And after all that's been said and done

You're just the part of me I can't let go

Couldn't stand to be kept away

Just for the day from your body

(Back with Jewel in the little aviary, she begins to remember the first time Blu walked through the little door)

Wouldn't want to be swept away

Far away from the one that I love

(She starts to remember the moment she was locked in the wooden box with Blu until the moment she offers him the scarf and hat)

Hold me now

It's hard for me to say I'm sorry

(He begins to remember Blu's attempt to climb Michelle's nest and the proposal he made inside the nest)

I just want you to know

(He starts to remember the skating lessons Blu gave him in the alley until the moment the two of them skated together)

Hold me now

I really want to tell you I'm sorry

(She begins to remember the moment when Blu tried to defend her from Monroy until the fight they had in the alley and she comes back to reality looking at her reflection in the water)

I could never let you go

After all that we've been through

I will make it up to you

(Michelle and Josh talked in the nest about everything that had happened after they broke up, sharing a big hug once more)

I promise to

And after all that's been said and done

You're just the part of me I can't let go

After all that we've been through

I will make it up to you

(Going back to Blu, he was thoughtful about what happened while Victor did other studies on him and from afar he sees a celestial feather on the operating table that reminded him of Jewel)

I promise to

(Back with Jewel he managed to remove the bandages from his chest and his gaze changed when he heard other voices at the top of the tree and began to climb)

...

Meanwhile, at the top of the tree, Michelle and Joshua were inside the hole that after being reunited with a beautiful song they would not stop talking about each other, they had so much to recover since both had suffered after their separation.

"Seriously, I don't believe you, is it impossible?" Joshua asked in amazement as he sat on the nest with his mother.

"Believe it or not it's true but after what happened to me I never played in that place again" Michelle replied after telling her son a story from her past.

"It must have been fun."

"It was, but when they weren't watching you," Michelle replied, recalling her childhood "that's why I learned to be stealthy."

"I wish I had done some of those things you did, usually a lot of kids freaked out when they found out who my stepfather was," Josh confessed wistfully.

"But now that I'm here, honey, you don't have to worry about what happens to you" Michelle replied, hugging her boy while kissing him on the forehead. "We make up for lost time, I promise."

"I love you mommy" once again Josh hugs his mother tightly

"I love you too, my little piece of heaven" Michelle replied giving her another kiss on the head but her gaze changed from hers when she looked at Jewel at the entrance of the nest "Jewel?" the female spoke with great enthusiasm

"I can't believe you're here," Jewel replied, moving closer to the woman to hug her.

"I'm so glad to see you" Michelle breaks the hug

"Mrs. Jewel, you don't know how happy I am to see you again," Josh replied, approaching her.

"Well someone convinced me to return" with those words Josh blushed as he convinced Jewel to return

"How did you survive?" asked Michelle

"One of the humans used one of his deadly weapons to wound Monroy."

"The hunters?"

"He was another type of human, if he were a cold-blooded hunter, he might not be here," Jewel replied, remembering what happened at the lake.

"I found out what happened to you and Blu after he leaves the mission"

"Yes, but I don't think he survived the fall from a height of more than 100 feet."

"Mrs. Jewel, Blu is alive Chloe saved him and I'm taking him to Linda" interrupted the little owl with a bit of excitement.

"How do you know that?" Jewel asked

"Because I spent the night with them after Alice rescued me from the river, she took me to the shore and we found her sister crying after delivering Blu to the humans" Joshua replied, remembering the conversation he had with Alice and Chloe in the nest.

"And it's OK?" the blue female asked with more interest

"Well now he's in recovery with Tomada so he's not alone"

"You didn't tell me that Tom was here son" commented Michelle

"Child?"

"If Josh or rather Joshua is one of my children who survived" answered Michelle as she hugged Josh

"But how is it ..." Jewel did not finish her sentence because she saw that one of the cameras was moving in the same direction as the nest "Hide!" the female commanded, crouching down to avoid being seen

"What's the matter?" Michelle asked hugging Josh closer to her, who was also confused by her friend's action.

"One of the deadly weapons of humans is here" Jewel replied leaning a bit to see if the enemy was in sight.

Josh was not scared by Jewel's words, there was no one but the three of them so he broke the hug with his mother to take a look and the only thing he saw active were the security cameras and the heating.

"There's nothing here Ms. Jewel" Joshua reported to calm his friend "it's just the three of us with the security cameras and the dusty air ...

"Security cameras?" the two females asked

"They serve to monitor a place in case ...

"You mean those mysterious boxes that move all the time?" Jewel asked

"Yes, but it is not bad, Mr. Nahuel and his assistants want us to be safe, so they put them in to avoid another assault"

"You do know everything about humans." Michelle was amazed by her son's intelligence.

"It's not a big deal" Joshua replied with a little blush "Mr. Blu knows more about ...

"How can I communicate with them?" Jewel asked once more interrupting the boy

"With whom?"

"With humans" replied the woman with a little shyness but quite sure of her words "how can I have your attention with those cameras?"

"You said you didn't trust them" Michelle interrupted amazed by Jewel's change with the humans.

"I don't want to talk to them; I just want to know where she is ...

"Blu?" asked Michelle

Jewel did not have the courage to answer that word since she rarely cared for someone else; Michelle understood the firmness and character of the macaw because it is not easy to express your feelings with other people since you would show weakness with which they could hurt you.

"Honey, is there a way Blu can come here without disturbing the humans?" Michelle asked her son a question

"Blu is a little weak, he can barely get up and speak perfectly, but I can tell Victor or Giselle to bring him here as soon as he gets better," Joshua replied.

"But you said he survived the fall," Jewel interrupted.

"Yes, he survived but now he has a thing called epilepsy."

"Epi-what ...

"It is something that I do not know, but Victor's ability to cure birds was enough for me to understand that it is something that he cannot eliminate so easily"

"Could you take me with him?" Jewel made a request

"As much as I can take you, you can't get out of here Mrs. Jewel" Joshua clarified "Tulio is concerned about his health and wants him to recover as soon as possible"

"I don't know who that Tulio is but I don't think ...

"Don't do it for him, do it for Blu" interrupted the owl "is what I would say if I remembered that you came back for him"

"Remind?"

"How is that darling?" Michelle did not understand what her son meant

"That thing called Epilepsy made Mr. Blu forget Jewel and Chloe's presence in the lake and he can happen again if he doesn't take proper care of himself" Josh replied to his mother's doubt.

"Are you sure?" Jewel asked since he didn't believe what he had heard.

"I'm just as worried as you two and I know you have a lot of questions, but this is also new to me."

"I understand you, my son, I didn't learn everything on the first try either," Michelle replied, stroking the feathers on her son's head. "By telling us that Mr. Blu is fine, that information is enough to calm us down."

"So you think you can talk to him?" Jewel asked after thinking about everything Joshua had told her.

"Of course, I know this place and I don't think Victor would mind me coming in and out like a cuckoo clock" replied the owl, showing Jewel a smile that made her feel safe with the owl.

"But you will come back, right?" Michelle asked with a bit of fear since after her reunion with her son, she did not want to get away from Joshua at all.

"Now that I've found you, I'll never be away from you," Josh replied, hugging Michelle again and kissing her on the cheek. "I'll be back before you say Merry Christmas."

"Be careful and don't talk to strangers" Michelle broke the hug letting her son out of the huge cage

"Yes mommy" Joshua answered opening the door lock like he did the last time he managed to get out. Michelle approached Jewel to speak.

"Hey, I understand that it's not easy to accept weakness but you don't have to be strong all the time."

"But it's not easy to say I'm sorry," Jewel replied shyly, as it was difficult for her to show concern.

After a long and exhausting day, the security guards closed all the shelves of the zoo attractions and the cleaning assistants swept the corridors because many people visited the animals after seeing what happened last night on the news. Victor continued to study Blu about his new illness and, incidentally, he checked Milagro's eyesight as he was still not sure if everything was okay with Joshua's company, who took the time to talk to his blue friend about Jewel and his reunion with his mother. Michelle.

"Well, it seems that everything is fine with you, your blinking is not failing and your eye is not deviated as I thought" Victor rechecked Mily's eye, who after hearing the good news received some licks from her puppy "Wow… hehehe no, you are the only one who is happy with this"

"Well, we already checked the temperature, we measured the pressure and the defense has improved little by little," Tulio reported feeling Blu's heartbeat with his stethoscope along with Linda who wanted to help with the review.

"Does Blu still hurt?" Asked Linda looking at her best friend a little more active and with the little energy that the blue male had, she wrote on a sheet

My head hurts a little and I still have muscle aches all over my body

"Are you not dizzy, do you want to vomit, or do you have difficulty speaking or hearing?"

"Daughter, don't drown him too much", interrupted Miguel, Linda's father who also kept them company "he is just recovering from his seizure"

"I'm sorry dad, I'm still worried about him" confessed the redhead because after learning about the new illness of her friend, she did not want to separate from him at all.

"I also felt the same with your aunt, darling" confessed Miguel "she was a girl when I saw her weak and with difficulty breathing I remember that she convulsed more than three times"

"I didn't know that Aunt Jaqui was epileptic" Linda replied paying attention to her father as did Blu and Joshua

"Neither did I until she suffered a crisis that went from one to four, but with advanced treatment and various medications she can be controlled"

"That's too much even for an animal bigger than Blu it can be very risky" Tulio entered the conversation after checking Blu's heartbeat "her heart rate could go up and down depending on the seizure".

"I'll have to do more research than I thought" replied Linda "maybe Aunt Jaqui can give me some advice and you can also give me my dad" for the second time Linda showed a little affection for her dad

"Whatever it is for you darling" replied Miguel hugging his daughter, leaving Blu surprised since the father of his best friend rarely showed a little affection with others.

"I listen Mr. Blu, your studies were not as bad as I thought," Joshua commented after hearing the information from Victor and the others.

"Well at least my entire nervous system works perfectly" Blu replied with a little more encouragement as he tried to stand up but his leg muscles still hurt "just a few more days of rest and I will be as good as new"

"With a new medicine"

"Don't remind me that I can hardly stand the smell of the vitamins I take"

"So you want to take it with you?" Victor asked his student Linda after seeing Mily

"I feel like he will be safer with me than here" replied Linda looking at her macaw talking to the owl "also I don't want him to have another seizure"

"Okay Linda, if that makes you feel better, you can take it with you, but bring it tomorrow for another checkup. We are starting with this new symptom" Victor accepted his student's request.

"You won't believe me but the peregrine falcon is vegetarian" Giselle interrupted entering the infirmary with a big smile.

"Really, why don't I think so?" Tulio asked

"This is the second time he has rejected a piece of meat, I didn't know if his stomach hurt, so I gave him some seeds and he ate them like crazy, then I gave him a piece of apple and he ate it. So I gave him a fruit cocktail and he ate it without leaving a piece to spare "Giselle replied with great emotion, showing the empty plate she was carrying.

"He's probably domesticated," Linda commented after hearing what happened.

"How are the females?" Victor asked

"For being of different species they do not fight much but I am surprised that Jewel is not behaving as savagely as you had mentioned it to me" answered Giselle causing that Blu and Josh were interested in the conversation

"That's weird because when I tried to put him in the travel box, he attacked me and hurt my hand," Tulio said, remembering how difficult it was to put Jewel in the travel box.

"And when we put her in the little shelter," Victor agreed with her grandson.

"Did you see anything else?" Tulio asked with more interest.

"She's standing there staring at the door, walking or talking to the spotted owl," Giselle replied.

"She won't she be she sick or something?" asked Miguel

"One of Raúl's henchmen told me that Jewel made a connection with Blu," Linda confessed, recalling the conversation she had with Samuel at the lake.

"Connection?" Tulio asked in amazement.

"Maybe that explains his behavior," Victor agreed, wondering if there was really a connection to blue macaws.

Linda was also curious about what was going on with Jewel as she recalled that during the first day they did the project the blue female showed no signs of compatibility with Blu but now why is she behaving strangely? Did Jewel really connect with Blu in such a short time?

After Joshua told Blu about what happened at the lake, he was surprised that Jewel came back to warn him about the attack and also the courage he had when facing a dangerous bird (not to mention the part where Josh convinced her coming back). Deep down, Blu wanted to know what was going through Jewel's mind, since it had become clear to him that they should not have been friends, much less be the last of his species.

"Dad, do you think we can stay a few more minutes?" Linda asked looking at her father after having thought about what to do "I want to do another little research with Blu before I go home"

"Sure daughter but don't delay, I don't want the snow to block our path" Miguel replied, accepting his daughter's request.

"Blu, do you think you can walk for a few minutes?" Linda looks at Blu sitting at the metal table with the owl.

"Walk but for what?" Tulio asked but Blu knew the reason for the question.

"Do you think you can talk to Jewel to ask if he's okay?"

"Talk to her again?" Blu spoke although only a croak was heard and the only ones who understood her language were Josh and Milagro "after what happened I don't think ...

"I know you are a little scared by what happened but you are not the only one who suffered damage and Jewel is probably worried about you" Milagro interrupted, getting on two legs near the table so she could talk to the macaw.

"Mr. Blu I asked Jewel to come back in exchange for her to confess everything about the kidnapping" Josh confessed the last part of the conversation "if it weren't for me maybe we both wouldn't be here"

Maybe Blu's body was in pain, but his awareness of everything that happened (at least part of what happened) made him think that he needed to close the part that he forgot during the attack. Blu took the pencil with ease and wrote what he had to say.

Okay, I'll talk to Jewel and ask if he's okay, but on the condition that Tulio forgets about his project.

Linda read the note and was glad that her friend tried again, although her part of the project left her shocked. "Okay, I'll talk to Tulio about it while you try to see what happens with Jewel," Linda responded to her friend's request.

"I'll go with you Mr. Blu, that way I'll go back to my mom," Josh commented.

"Okay, let's do this one more time."

Once again Blu and Linda walked down the small corridor that led to the small habitat while Josh flew by their side ready to help his friend while Linda carried a plate of cut fruits for the two females.

"Remember, you can't take long, you're still not in a good condition to be alone" once again Linda repeated the instructions to her friend "if you feel bad let me know through the cameras and as soon as you have finished close the door to avoid another accident "the redhead gives her friend some keys so she can open the door while she is inside the room

"I know I already repeated it, Mr. Blu, but doesn't it feel bad?" Joshua asked one more time before reaching the door.

"Calm down, I'm fine, just a little pain in the body, but I'm fine," Blu replied.

"Well, this time you are not forced to stay" Linda leaves Blu on the floor to enter through the small door "just go and leave as soon as you finish talking to her" she leaves the plate of food by her side and Josh stands next to her. "I hope your mom likes nuts" side. In response, Josh gave a little squawk.

"Well here we go again but with the same fear," Blu commented inside his mind.

And we come to the end of the chapter dear readers. You like the song? Because it was difficult to find a song that coordinated with everything that happened, we only need one chapter and this story will come to an end. Your criticisms and comments will be heard (as long as they are related to the story) until the next publication.
