Hello again…
In mid-September I bring you the last chapter of this story before October arrives because it was in that month that I published the first chapter of this second story that I composed for the Rio fandom in English and Spanish. I am very grateful to the people who supported me, wrote and encouraged me to finish foreign love (at the end of the story they will be mentioned) now I will only focus on finishing high school Blu Sky 2 since it is less than 10 episodes. What will happen tomorrow?
The poor lighting that was seen in the small window of the habitat could be seen that it was getting dark and the strong sound of the wind could be heard indicating that another snowstorm would fall at night. While Michelle and Jewel waited for Josh, the two females began to talk a bit so as not to get bored in the huge cage that produced enough heat to keep them safe.
"And that's how I left my home" Michelle had finished telling another story of her past with Jewel while they were sitting on the small lake.
"And you never came back?" Jewel asked with interest
"My family was complicated, rarely they were interested in what I wanted and with more reason I kept flying straight" answered Michelle "despite the blows I received I do not regret anything"
"Well, I think you have a reason to be younger than me."
The small conversation was interrupted when the small door (through which Blu entered) was opened and immediately two birds entered the place.
"Why did the temperature rise again?" asked Blu feeling too hot again
"Mom, I'm back and brought Mr. Blu with me" Joshua replied, dragging the plate of fruit.
"Hello little one, why did you take so long?" Michelle asked approaching the two males.
"They made another check on Mr. Blu and my friend Milagro" replied the owl "so I took the opportunity to talk to Linda to tell her everything that happened"
"Blu, you don't know how sorry I am for abandoning you," Michelle apologized to her friend, giving her a big hug
"You don't have to apologize, you were injured and needed urgent medical attention," Blu replied, hugging him. "I'm also happy to see you again, but now you're crushing my back."
"I'm sorry Hehehe ... you don't know how grateful I am to you" Michelle breaks the hug
At some distance from the place, Jewel saw Blu talking to the two owls but she did not dare to go out yet she did not feel ready to speak but deep down she wanted to talk to him and ask him if he was feeling okay. That thing called Epilepsy sounded rather serious for humans to keep Blu under observation for a long time
"I still can't believe they're family," Blu commented, recalling Josh's confession "this explains why your deer protected Josh at all costs."
"Joshua was still in the shell when I found him" Michelle replied remembering Comet's behavior "I think he knew who you were after all" look at her son
"We brought some fruits for dinner" Josh shows the fruit plate "in a while Giselle will bring something very delicious that I know you will love mom"
Michelle glanced at Jewel hiding behind a flower pot she knew that she would continue with her firmness but she would not achieve anything if she continued with that thought
"That's fabulous honey, how about we eat in the nest while we wait for your friend with what you asked for?" Michelle proposed, being alone with her son
"Okay mommy, I want you to keep telling me another one of your stories," Joshua replied, accepting his mother's proposal.
"I guess you're for something else here, right?" Michelle whispered in Blu's ear
"Yeah, thanks for all your help Michelle" Blu replied in a low voice so Josh wouldn't hear them.
"Anything for the bird that saved my life"
Michelle took the fruit plate with her claws and flew to the nest with her son, leaving Blu alone on the floor. Josh knew that his friend had to talk to Jewel alone so he immediately accepted his mother's proposal that he was little he understood some adult things.
Once they left the place Jewel steeled herself and showed herself with the poor lighting that was in the place looking once more at Blu this time she was scared because he did not know what to say about it.
"Did you want to see me again?" Jewel asked in a fearful voice, but Blu didn't say anything about it and stared at her like nothing "I heard what happened to you at the lake and really ... I ... Um ... really ... I didn't want to...
"Because you did?" asked Blu "you almost died trying to save me"
"I ... No ... I don't know ...
"Don't you know or don't want to tell me?" asked Blu
"I don't know how to explain it well" Jewel replied with a bit of disturbance and frustration "this is the first time I have done something without thinking about the consequences"
"Like in the alley?"
"Yes ... I mean no!"
"I knew I was wasting my time" replied Blu tired of this nonsense "I just came to see if you were okay as Linda asked me" when he saw that Jewel was not injured or ill he walked away from her to go back to the door
"Listen, I am not a fragile and tender girl like all the other women you find out there and I am not generous either but ... what I did was ..." for the first time Jewel felt her words choke her. But she had to be honest with herself "it was something that I don't even recognize myself"
Blu stopped walking when he heard Jewel's words because since they met, all the time she was looking for a flaw in anything that crossed her path even with him on the one hand she did not trust her words because it was not the first time that I was watching. That personality with people
"So what you did was a pulse?" asked Blu turning around
"No" Jewel replied
"Then why did you do it?"
"Because maybe I like you a little" Jewel confessed with a bit of alteration because it was not easy for her to show weakness "when Josh confessed that his father tried to kidnap me before you entered I did not believe it but I remembered the blow he gave me Monroy before they locked us in the box "
"What do you mean by that?"
"That you were right in everything" Jewel accepted her mistake "you are not a criminal as I thought but deep down I wanted it to be a lie ... because ... I did not want to trust anyone again"
Blu was paralyzed by what Jewel had said, her words confessed that deep down she felt appreciation, kindness and trust in him. Although he had a hard time admitting it, he couldn't blame her because he thought the same thing when he met Linda.
"Now I understand why they call you Joya" Blu answered in a calm voice "It is very easy to recognize you but it is difficult to dominate you and I think that is a good thing for anyone who tries to win a smile from you" those words were enough for the blue man to will show a smile to the woman
"I'm really sorry about what happened at the lake and also about that thing called epilepsy."
"At least everything returned to normal" agreed Blu "well, not quite, you also ended up with some injuries" from afar look at the bandage thrown away "if you use the bandage you will recover faster"
"I think I can bear them. It's not the first time I've hurt myself," replied Jewel, looking for the white bandage to put on her chest again. "This is like using a plant."
"If you say it like that I suppose I can let you go" Blu jumped to the doorknob so he could open it with the keys Linda had given him.
"Are you serious?" asked the macaw, surprised that Blu could open the door in addition to his words
"The deal was that if you helped me find Linda, I would show you the right place to spend the winter," Blu replied, remembering the deal he made with Jewel in Michelle's nest.
"What kind of shelter is it?"
"It is a farmer-style shelter where a woman accepts all kinds of disabled animals, takes care of them, feeds them and protects them very well from the cold" she opens the door "many people say that it is a good place because all the animals are not locked up and can come and go as many times as you want "
"I thought you were referring to this place" confessed Jewel, staying still and at the same time looking at the small corridor "they take care of you, they feed you and they protect you"
"If it's true but I know you don't like being locked up that's why ...
"It is also perfect here and I think there is less danger than it was."
Blu could not believe it now that Jewel had the opportunity to leave he did not want and that left him more astonished with the new decision of the blue female "but you said you hated cages and human things".
"After what happened being out of this place I think it's less dangerous here" Jewel confessed with a bit of assurance.
"So you want to spend the winter here?"
"At least until the snow storms are over" Jewel replied looking at the security cameras "although I don't know if your friends will let me go"
"They will understand because I will tell them" Blu clarified with a smile willing to help "we both agree that this project to save our species caused us problems" is a little closer to her
"Yes and many problems"
"Then I think I'll see you later."
"Will you spend the winter here too?"
"Yes… I mean no" corrected Blu "it's just that Linda wants me to come home to her. Her abduction and this discovery of epilepsy scared her too much and she just wants her to be safe in a more private place, you understand? "
"Oh ... I get it" Jewel replied trying not to show interest
"But now that I'm epileptic I'll have to come here for a few days for some studies that Victor wants to do for me" Blu's words made Jewel smile a little and Blu also felt the same
"I don't know what studies are, but if it's normal for you, I'll take it as a good thing"
"Well that depends on what they do to me" agreed the man "I'm not sure what will happen tomorrow either."
"Neither do I"
"But there is nothing wrong with finding out with someone else" Blu looks Jewel in the eye but immediately changes direction to avoid another misunderstanding "Would you like to know what will happen?"
"Well, since I'm going to spend the winter here, I think it would be good for me to distract myself so as not to despair, I already made that mistake once" Jewel accepted Blu's invitation.
"Then I'll find you first thing tomorrow morning."
"Deal done" Jewel answered bringing her wing closer to Blu's to shake it, which surprised the male because from the beginning Jewel had not agreed to shake his wing with hers "by the way thanks for the shelter so that the winter can pass"
"No problem, you were already safe although you did not know very well" Blu agrees to wave his wing with Jewel
"Well then, see you first thing tomorrow" he said goodbye to the blue male
"If tomorrow morning" approaches the exit
"Rest" due to the low light, Jewel blushes a little, but Blu cannot see her.
"Rest you too Jewel" he said goodbye once more and closed the door leaving the woman alone
"Feels good to let your guard down doesn't it?" Michelle interrupted Jewel's thoughts.
"I think it's something strange" Jewel confessed remembering what happened.
"I thought the same but then I felt better"
"I think being fragile is not my thing"
"You know for a moment that I thought you would run away" Michelle confessed when she remembered how committed Jewel was to being free.
"I also thought the same but I think I deserved to stay here after what happened with Blu, Milagro, Tomada and you" confessed Jewel feeling a bit of guilt since everything got out of control when Monroy tried to manipulate her mind.
"I didn't think to stay here either but Joshua convinced me to stay until my wounds heal well" confessed Michelle showing a big smile on her beak "I didn't think that a small smile would make me leave my past to look to my future"
"I'm still learning to put my past behind me," Jewel commented wistfully.
"And how do you imagine your future?"
"I always imagined living in the air with nothing that could stop me, but now I don't know if I want to continue this way," Jewel replied, looking at the tree and imagining being free in the jungle.
"You will find out soon, believe me"
"I think I'm figuring it out" once again Jewel turned her gaze towards the door hoping it would be tomorrow to see Blu.
Back to the present
"So you stayed at the zoo for dad?" Bia asked after hearing the great story from her parents.
"Something like that" Jewel replied but Blu gave him a look to tell him the truth "well I wanted to stay and see him again" Jewel corrected taking her husband's wing
"But what happened to Mily and the others?" Carla asked
"Well Mily managed to recover but now he only saw with one eye, Michelle and Joshua returned to the forest and Tomada was the last to recover. I did not know much about him when we moved to Rio, I only know that they released him" Blu answered the question of his daughter
"But do you know where to find them?" asked Tiago
"Well, it's been almost three years since I moved to Rio with your mother and your grandmother, I don't know if they are still here in the city."
"So what happened after Mom stayed at the Zoo?" Bia asked again with more interest as did her brothers who wanted to continue listening to the story
"Blu, Jewel come on you have to see this!" interrupted a semi-dark skinned boy entering the room "Linda is taking out the Christmas decorations, let's go!"
"I think it will be for the next night" indicated Blu getting up from the carpet with Jewel
"Oh ..." the triplets sighed as they wanted to hear the story
"Can we stay a little longer please?" Tiago asked, grabbing his father's wing so he wouldn't leave.
"You left us wondering, Dad, now we want to know what happened" Carla stopped her parents before they left the room.
Blu was surprised that her children were interested in her past life; Jewel knew that her children would one day wonder how they met and that made her very happy "it's okay but it will be after dinner"
"Yes ..." the three chicks celebrated knowing that they would hear the rest of the story
"Blu, come kids, we need help with the lights are well tangled!" yell Linda calling out to the blue macaw family
"I ask for the spheres!" Bia ran out of the room
"I ask for the bells and the mistletoe!" Carla went after her sister
"It's not fair they left me the lights tangled!" Tiago claim running after them leaving his parents alone
"That makes you slow!" the two girls yelled
"At least they'll be entertained for a little while longer," Blu commented after seeing that her children wouldn't be bored for a little longer.
"I think you were right it was not such a bad idea to take this trip with the children" confessed Jewel looking at the snow that fell on the window and the dark sky
"Is it because of the story or because you were afraid of freezing back in ice?" Blu asked jokingly.
"Both but Tiago is right. Will Michelle and the others still be here?"
"I think that if as soon as the storm calms down we will go out to explore as we had agreed" Blu approaches the window to see more closely the snow that was falling like Jewel
"This will be the second Christmas that I will spend here at Mini-Soda"
"And the fourth we will spend together," added Blu while hugging his wife.
"Right hehehehe ...
"You still haven't told me what you want for Christmas"
"I only want you and nothing else" Jewel steals a kiss from Blu and caresses his chest
"Hey hehehe ... we are in Linda's room and the children can come" Blu blushed at the caresses that Jewel was giving him.
"I thought you wanted to do this from the beginning" Jewel continued with her game
"Well then hehehe ... I think we can have a moment alone before dinner" Blu replied hugging his wife who gave a little giggle as she looked at the beautiful snowflakes.
Meanwhile, on the outskirts of town on a fairly large farm with several rooms that kept the animals warm. A mestizo woman with an overdose of weight carried a cardboard box with holes in her hands as she entered one of the rooms where some of the animals that took refuge from the cold were kept.
"Very good friend, this will be your new home", the mestizo spoke, leaving the box on the ground "you are very lucky to survive that accident" he opens the box with caution, revealing a brown feathered pigeon that was limping on one leg . "Make yourself at home" the woman leaves the place closing the door with great security
"Hello ... Um ... is there anyone here?" asked the male pigeon walking through the grass "I am from this town just like you"
"Look what Mrs. Jasmine brought" shouted a pigeon leaning against the wooden ceiling "another pigeon!"
"Another pigeon!" several pigeons of different species and sizes spoke in crowds, coming out of their hiding places
"Wow ... Hehehe ... Umm ... hi, I'm ...
"Welcome to the Mosse Lake Animal Shelter," interrupted one of the pigeons.
"Thank you, I'm ...
"Where are you from, what happened to your paw, how was your owner, do you like snow?" Due to the presence of the new bird, several pigeons wanted to meet him
"Hey, calm down, don't pretend you've never seen one of your kind" interrupted a yellow canary with blue eyes landing in the middle of the pigeons that were harassing the newcomer "first let him orient himself to the place and then speak okay" the crowd of pigeons flew away and others ran away "excuse them, they don't normally behave like this"
"Normally many city pigeons are rude" replied the male, grateful that all the pigeons left him alone.
"I'm Coral" the female introduces herself with the dove "and what's your name?"
"I'm Freddy" replied the male
"Good name and welcome to Mosse Lake Animal Shelter"
"Thanks Jejeje ...
"Anything you need you can ask me" Coral showed Freddy the different places where he could rest while some animals like rabbits, ducks and chickens walked around the place "there is enough space for you to make your nest with the other pigeons that you can explore where you want" Coral moves away from the dove so that she can know the place
"Thank you very much" Freddy began to walk around the place to be able to orient himself in his new home where he would be cared for and cared for just as his previous owner had promised him but an old door caught his attention and he wanted to take a look
"I wouldn't go in there if I was your friend" said a white rooster when he saw the dove approaching the door
"What's inside that place?" asked Freddy
"That is where the wildest animals of the place are kept and only Jasmine can enter there" replied the rooster
"Oh ... I didn't know they had predatory animals here" commented the pigeon.
"It is a friendly refuge that you expected, Jasmine accepts all kinds of injured and rescued animals" the rooster clarified in a calm voice "while you are here with us nothing will happen to you for now relax while we wait for Jasmine to bring dinner"
Freddy decided to listen to his friend although inside he wondered what kind of wild animals were inside that room and when he left the place a dark purple eye looked at the dove through a small hole in the door releasing a small evil laugh.
And we come to the end of the story dear readers. As my Anonymous friend said a year ago I began to publish this story and the truth is that I would have liked to finish it sooner but as I had told you in the author's notes, I gave the story a new shape because I lost contact with the boy who it would help me write it (it helped me with the first 5 chapters). I still thank that boy for his support and for the faith he had in me to create "Foreign Love"
This is the first time that I have been inspired to create OC inspired by people I know and who are part of my life: Josh and Michelle are inspired is my sister and my nephew that I really want to meet him in person because one of my wishes is to be. .. The best aunt in the world
Monroy is inspired by my last name because since I can remember my paternal family has been the most feared and recognized by many people in the neighborhood where he used to live, the personality of this character says it all
Sol is inspired by a person who helped me a lot in my personal life and in her honor believes Soledad
Milagro (Mily) is inspired by a poodle that my sister-in-law had, I'll tell you a story ... Milagro was a dog rescued by my sister-in-law who is a protector of animals. Mily was pregnant and lost an eye due to an illness she had. My sister-in-law raised Mily until she was able to give birth to her puppies, but unfortunately she couldn't have her puppies because her life was at risk, but she still gave her a home and even though she only had one eye, she was the guardian of the house. And the second poodle that lived with the family
He always dug wells in the yard and was very kind to people until one day my sister-in-law made the decision to operate in the open part that had been left for her when they removed her eye, she loved that dog so much and wanted the best for her. Unfortunately she did not survive the anesthesia and ended up breaking the hearts of the whole family, during that time I was reshaping this story and as Mily's death touched my heart I decided to put her name in history as well as her personality.
Rest in peace Miracle as your name says you were and will be a true miracle
From what I saw on the internet there really is a zoo in Mosse Lake (Minnesota) despite being a small town with a small lake in my history it is a big place
When I rewrote the story I was originally going to ask for the CO of one of the best known writers in the FanFiction Rio community in English but after seeing that the writer turned out to be a fraud I decided not to involve him in my story as Many readers and writers Even people Most recognized in the community were disappointed (including me). I created Josh and Michelle, who apparently won the hearts of various readers.
