Layla knew Shisui like the back of her hand she memorized everything about him his fighting style, his smile, his sense of humor, his laugh, and most importantly his Sharingan it didn't matter that there were other Sharingan that looked the same Shisuis was different to her and right now Danzo had Shisui's Sharingan in his eye tarnishing his memory and that disgusted her. She remembered a time where she would look into Shisui's eyes that were red and had trust in them that they would never hurt her and would always defend her but now that very eye was going to be used against her by a vile man.

Red filled her vision as she snarled at Danzo, the shock leaving her body and being replaced by white-hot rage as she ran at Danzo with the intention to kill "How the fuck do you have Shisuis eye?!" She yelled as she performed hand signs sucking in a breath and then exhaling, blowing out fire at him.

'I'll fucking kill him!'

Danzo quickly shunshined away from the fireball that was directed at him and performed hand signs "Wind style serial waves!" He blew out air at Layla, causing her to wince when the jutsu connected with her body causing rips and cuts to appear on her body, drawing blood, but that didn't distract her as she body flickered in front of Danzo, aiming a fist at his head. Still, he ducked out of the way and spun his body leg extended to kick her, but she held up her forearm and protected herself against it "You're sick Danzo!" Layla spat out at him as she threw shuriken at him watching as he dodged but that's when she pulled her hand back and the shuriken changed direction and came back at him.

Danzo glared at her as he quickly used a substitution jutsu leaving a log in his place as the shuriken hit it 'This girl..' his thoughts trailed off as he saw her disappear along with her chakra concealing herself from him 'Foolish girl she should know better! The Sharingan can see through anything.' He thought as he looked around his surroundings searching for her but saw no one 'Where I-' his eyes widened as Layla appeared directly in front of him kneeing him in his stomach making him hunch over but she then punched him in his face sending him back.

"You're forgetting something vital about me Danzo." She snarled as she saw him catch himself before he hit the ground. She wanted him dead at her feet where he can never hurt anyone again "I was on a squad with two Uchiha prodigies! You honestly don't think I didn't pick up a thing or two from them? You're a fool Danzo." Her petals were spinning rapidly as her rage grew to a new level that she didn't know it could reach. "I warned you I would show you why my enemies fear me." She took a step forward killing intent leaking out but not fazing Danzo as he silently watched her for her next move "With this battle between you and I one of us will die and it won't be me." She declared eyes narrowed at him seeing him stare at her blankly still.

"You will try."

Layla lifted her hand up in front of her face and clenched it as her resolve hardened "I will not try! I will kill you and avenge Shisui!" She ran at him chakra in her feet increasing her speed as she neared him she raised her arm and threw a punch but he turned his body slightly dodging the punch then lashed out with his leg hitting her side sending her flying back but she caught herself and ran at him again while doing hand signs "Water style water trumpet!" A stream of water went at Danzo quickly from her mouth.

Danzo calmly stared at the water that was heading for him and performed hand signs of his own and slammed his hands on the ground "Earth style mud wall!" A wall of mud rose from the ground in front of him protecting him from the water but that's when he felt an excruciating pain in his chest causing him to glance down and see a tanto that was through his chest making him cough up blood he then glanced behind him to see Layla there her hand clasped on the handle of the tanto her pink eyes glaring at him hatefully but with a different pattern in them.

"I told you I will kill you." She snarled as her free hand reached up to his face "Now give me back Shisuis eye!" She demanded as she ripped the tanto out of his chest as her other hand closed in on Shisui's eye he didn't deserve to have his eye! Shisui deserved to be at peace! Not have his own eye used for the wrong things! She will put the last connection to Shisui to rest!

Danzo vanished before she could rip the eye out causing her to be shocked since it shouldn't be possible for Danzo to move. He should have died right then and there. How was he still alive? She turned to where Danzo was sensing his chakra appear there "You should be dead! How the hell are you still living!?" She demanded as she sees Danzo looking completely fine no injuries visible.

"I suppose I'll show you how I'm still alive." Danzo unwrapped his arm showing how it wasn't human and that it had ten Sharingan eyes that stared at her but one blinked and then closed "This right here is Izanagi a forbidden Uchiha jutsu that can change reality to one's whim." He explained as he eyed Layla seeing her disgusted look on her face.

Layla couldn't believe that Danzo would do this, that he would take Sharingan's from dead bodies but that's when it dawned on her the whole Uchiha massacre and why none of the elders were affected by it "Itachi…! You didn't!? He was just thirteen trying to make a difference in this bloody world!" She yelled not wanting to believe that Itachi did what he did on orders.

"The Uchiha clan was getting out of control just like yours. They wanted to take over Konoha. I won't allow that."

Layla never knew it was possible to hate a man this much. She blamed Itachi for everything that went wrong after Shisui but really it was him that she should have placed her anger and hate into not Itachi who didn't even deny anything she accused him of all he did was just let her make accusations not correcting her about any of it oh how much she hated herself right now for failing Itachi for failing Shisui breaking her promise she made him to stay by Itachi's side.

'Itachi….how alone you must feel right now.' Layla thought as she remembered all the times the three of them were together and how Itachi was always at ease with them until the last couple weeks before the massacre and Shisuis death 'I'll avenge you all.' Layla ran at Danzo, her hand still on the handle of the tanto 'I won't allow my clan to be another massacre he orders!' Layla slashed at his midsection but he dodged it by jumping back but that didn't stop her as she grabbed the front of his clothes and brought him down to the ground slamming him hard on the floor her hand that held the tanto went to stab him but was stopped making her tense as she looked to see Danzo there holding her wrist causing her to look back to see an empty spot.

"I believe you're done with this." He ripped the tanto out of her hand, throwing it to the side "You can't win, Haruno, give it up now." He ordered causing her to grit her teeth as she stood up glaring at his hand that was still on her wrist. She looked up at Danzo pink eyes meeting mismatched ones causing her to smirk as she tilts her head to the side.

"Let's see if you can live up to those eyes you stole."

Danzo stared at her wondering what she meant until she started to fade from existence causing his eyes to widen as he looked around to see a black abyss surrounding him "What!?" He turned around trying to see if he can find a weakness in the jutsu but couldn't that's when he tried to dispel it with his Sharingan causing Layla to laugh her voice echoing in the abyss "How is this possible!?" He demanded as he tried to work out a way to escape.

"You see Danzo, my bloodline is like the Sharingan which you already know. Our kekkei genkai mainly focuses on genjutsu. We just can't copy every jutsu like the Sharingan can or trap someone in a Tsukuyomi for 72 hours." Layla appeared next to him in the abyss, her pink eyes glowing in the dark "You can't break out of this Danzo you're stuck here with me." Danzo lashed out aiming to punch her but she vanished leaving him alone again "I'm done playing nice Danzo." He clenched his fist as he tried to remain calm but that's when red eyes appear in front of him.

"Itachi!?"

Itachi's cold eyes stared at him as he pulled out a kunai and just as fast as he pulled it out the kunai was lodged into Danzo's chest causing him to choke on blood "What's wrong?" Layla appeared grinning as her pink eyes still had the different design in them "Let me fix this for you." The kunai disappeared from Danzos chest along with Itachi "I'm showing you now why my enemies fear me." Layla vanished again and this time Shisui appeared tanto in hand as he charged him "You know this is supposed to show your worst fear." Layla stated as he watched Danzo narrowly dodge Shisui "Itachi and Shisui are your biggest fears?" She shook her head as she sees Danzo falter and Shisui stabs him she motioned for her clone to copy Shisui so every attack he lands her clone lands also.

"Enough!" Layla's eyes widen as Danzo grabbed the tanto and stabbed where her clone was dispelling it along with the genjutsu making her tense "You have made me mad." Danzo was covered in cuts and stab wounds as he glared at her panting.

'That's not possible! How did he escape the genjutsu only Shisui and Itachi ever did!' Layla thought as she stares at Shisui's eye knowing that it was his eye that dispelled the genjutsu.

"No more holding back Danzo." Layla declared as her pink eyes focus on his form giving him a death stare but that's when he started choking coughing up water as he couldn't breathe that's when he disappeared again and appeared a few feet where he use to be another Sharingan blinked and then closed.

Layla panted lightly as she eyed Danzo where he was now her chakra running low now from all the jutsus she did then doing what she did to Danzo that was usually kept as a last resort.

"What did you do?"

Layla chuckled as she stood tall staring at him "None of your business!" She engaged him in taijutsu both being evenly matched causing them to pull out kunai or shuriken to throw at each other as they both tried to overpower each other.

Layla grits her teeth as she felt Danzos fist connect with her face sending her back but she caught herself and attacked him again landing a hard kick to his rib cage cracking some bones causing him to wince but continue to hit back making Layla retreat back as she held her side taking shaky breaths as Danzo did.

"You lose Haruno."

Layla grits her teeth as she spits out blood "Like hell!" Three clones appear around Danzo one on each side of him and behind him, the ones on the side grab his arms while the one behind him grabs the back of his neck holding him down "You lose Danzo!" Layla declared as she walked towards him ready to rip out Shisui's eye from his skull "You underestimated me one too many times Danzo!" she declared as she stopped in front of him but that's when her vision blurred and she stumbled.

Danzo smirked, "The poisons working finally. Perfect." He watched as she looked at him wondering what he meant waiting for him to explain "You failed like Shisui he couldn't stop me and neither can you. I will protect Konoha at all cost no matter what." He stated to her causing rage to surge through her as her kekkei genkai was threatening to deactivate since all the chakra she lost.

"You bastard!" Her hand lunged for Shisui's eye just as he started to choke on water again filling his lungs as her fingers plunged into his eye socket ripping Shisui's eye out just as he disappeared another Sharingan gone.

Layla stared at Shisui's eye that was in her hand now free from Danzo 'I need to leave! I need to find Sak-' Layla's eyes widen at the pain in her chest making her look down to see the tanto in her chest 'I refused to die here not until I see Sakura one last time!' Layla thought as she carefully took the tanto out and threw it to the ground staring at Danzo seeing his enraged face with only one eye now making her smirk even though she felt her blood staining her clothes.

"You won't save her in time."

Layla froze smirk falling off her face.

"What?"

"My root ninja is taking care of her as we speak."

Layla turned her back on him Shisui's eye still held protectively in her hand as she listened to him her other hand holding her chest emitting a green glow as she healed her wound.

"Give Shisui's eye back and I'll call them off."

Could she really give Shisui's eye back to the man that killed him? Just to protect her cousin? To the man that would kill anyone in his way? What's to say she does give it to him and then he kills Sakura anyway? She couldn't trust him no matter the consequences. She just hoped Sakura forgave her.

"No."

"What?!"

Layla glared at him one last time and turned to leave.

"I won't let you get away!"

Danzo dashed at her performing hand signs making Layla narrow her pink eyes as fire was coming at her making her vanish before it hit and appeared behind Danzo kicking him to the ground and pulling out a kunai "I'll make sure you don't get up from this!" She placed her foot on his back making Danzo snarl at her as she put pressure until she hear a crunch making Danzo yell out and then brought the kunai down to his chest stabbing him through the heart.

Layla watched as he flickered away again and she chose that time to make her escape as she body flickered away leaving paper bombs behind causing an explosion as she appeared in the forest again and looked in her hand to see Shisuis eye staring back at her causing her eyes to water and she sobbed the tears falling as she clutched it to her chest "Shisui…!" She cried out as she slumped to the forest ground her mind running a mile a minute as she thought of him.

"I love you."

Sakura stared at her hand which was now cleaned of blood and thought of the ninja she killed making her cover her mouth feeling nauseous again as she looked back into the forest where she burned the body hoping that no one will find it and know of what she did.

'Outer it will be okay.'

'Then why does my hand still feel filthy?'

Inner didn't reply leaving Sakura alone with her thoughts which she didn't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing as she was about to exit the training field is when she felt it, making her tense as Inner came back panicked.

'Move!'

Sakura didn't need to be told again as she quickly disappeared as kunai and shuriken were thrown at where she used to be and four anbu appeared there looking around trying to sense where she is.

"Cha!"

Sakura appeared above them chakra swirling in her fist as she made contact in the center of them destroying the ground sending them back as they did not expect that attack or know she was able to perform chakra-enhanced attacks "What the hell do you bastards want!?" The four anbu appear again in front of her two of them looked disheveled as they were the ones that were the closest and got hit with flying debris as the other two looked fine.

The atmosphere was tensed as sakura looked at them ready for a fight as she glared at them letting her eyes bleed pink as three petals appear spinning in anticipation for the fight making her glare at them.

"You are in the way of Danzo-samas plans."

Sakuras eyes widen as white-hot fury filled her and she attacked first going after the one closest to her fist drawn back as she put chakra in it colliding with him as he didn't expect her speed. She then went for the next one her leg extended as he kicked him but he brought his arms up and blocked it as she grits her teeth ducking under the third ones attack feeling the breeze of the tanto that was aimed at her throat she then spun grabbing him by the cloak and kneed him in the stomach and then brought her fist back and punched him.

"You shouldn't underestimate me."

The fourth one performed hand signs creating a dragon out of the water from the lake in the training field and sent it towards her making her back away but was stopped as another anbu grabbed her and held her in place "You fool you're going to die too!" She yelled at him as he clutched tighter.

"It's worth it if it means you're out of the way."

Sakura grits her teeth as she put chakra in her arms and wrenched out of his grip and body flickered away just as the water dragon hit the other anbu sending him crashing into trees.

'They really don't care about killing each other to achieve their goal! What did Danzo do to them?'

Sakura performed hand signs. "Water style water bullet jutsu!" She blew out five bullets made of water at the anbu that created the water dragon and watched as he dodged them all.

An anbu appeared in front of her kicking her in her midsection shocking her as she coughed up blood flying back but she twisted her body and landed on her feet and saw shuriken flying at her making her do a substitution leaving a log in her place as she hid her chakra from them.

'This is bad. I can't beat them all together like this.'

'Separate them.'

'Easier said than done.'

Sakura created two clones of herself and sent them out to the other two anbu while she went after the last one her petals spinning as she put chakra in her fist and body flickered to the anbu and aimed the punch at his mask but he quickly ducked underneath tanto raised and slashed at her midsection making her grit her teeth as she felt the sting of the blade against her flesh "Bastard!" She snarled as she quickly got some distance away but he was on her again aiming at her face now but she ducked and uppercut his chin sending him in the air she then grabbed ahold of his clothes and slammed him on the ground leaving a crater.

The anbu twisted out of her hold and was able to punch her in her face making her stumble back losing focus but that's all he needed as he was on her punching her and kicking her as she blocked and evaded what she could making her anger spike at feeling weak.

"Enough!"

She looked into the eyes of the anbu through the eye holes and was able to trap him in a genjutsu making him see his worst fear.

"You failed me." The Anbu paled behind his mask as he saw Danzo glaring at him "You're useless and aren't worth a damn thing." He hissed as he walked toward him.

"Please Danzo-sama!"

"You outlived your usefulness."

Danzo reached out toward him giving the impression he was going to rip his mask off.

"I'll do better!"

Sakuras held a kunai in her hand as she stared at the anbu trapped in her genjutsu "I can't hesitate." She closed her eyes as she slashed the kunai against the anbus neck blood splattering on her face as the anbu choked on his own blood and collapsed to the ground.

"I killed again."

Sakura opened her eyes as she looked to where the last two were and sees her clones being dispelled.

"Sh-Shisui."

Layla collapsed on the grave coughing up blood as her vision blurred her body was screaming in pain but she forced it down as she dug her hands in the dirt of the grave pulling up grass and dirt "I finally have something to bury here." She smiled as she placed the lone eye in the hole she made and covered it back up with the dirt and grass "We didn't have a body to bury but at least we have a part of you to now." Layla looked up into the sky seeing that night was drawing near.

"I couldn't avenge you." Layla stood up stumbling as her vision blurred again and she coughed up blood again "I'm going to die." She whispered as she smiled brokenly "I broke your promise about Itachi." Tears welled in her eyes as she bit her lip "I failed you both as a teammate." She trembled as she turned away from the grave.

"Don't worry about your eye. Danzo won't be able to touch it again."

Layla walked away.

"I'll see you soon."

Layla took to the forest heading to where she knew Sakura was "Hold on! I'm coming!" Layla put chakra in her feet and ran faster ignoring the burning in her chest from the poison.

'If this really is my end then I'll die protecting Sakura!'

Layla sensed a chakra vanish making her push herself more as her worry grew for her cousin "Almost there." She pulled out a kunai just as she neared the clearing she could make out Sakura battling two anbu ninjas that were from root and by the looks of it, they had the upper hand.

"Bastard!"

Layla quickly appeared behind one and stabbed them in the heart killing them instantly shocking the last one as he got some distance from them.

"Layla!"

Layla looked over at Sakura seeing that she was not looking so good herself she had cuts and bruises littering her body her pink hair was tangled and had dry blood in it her lip had a cut in it and a black eye and that was the only injuries she could see at the moment.

"You okay?"

Sakura nodded.

"Yeah!"

Layla turned toward the anbu and glared at him "It seems you're the last one left. I'm feeling generous leave and never come back or die." She declared as she clutched the blood kunai in her hand watching as the anbu shook his head.

"Pity."

Layla moved before the anbu could react and slit his throat watching as he crumpled to the ground choking.

"Look out!"

Layla turned and sees an anbu behind her going for the killing blow knowing she couldn't dodge in time she prepared herself for the blow but that's when she heard chirping and looked to see Sakura running towards them with speed she has never seen before.

'Forgive me Sakura.'

Layla held onto the anbu so he couldn't move or dodge as Sakura came closer with Chidori "Move Layla!" She called out knowing she couldn't stop her attack now as her hand pierced through the anbus chest cavity into Layla's as well and just as it came Sakura pulled her hand back as if burned.

Layla couldn't feel any more as she collapsed onto the ground, her vision blurring as she lost more blood. Her body was feeling lighter than it has in a long time as she closed her eyes.

"Layla!"

'Who was calling her name?'

"Oh god..! Why?!"

'Who's screaming?'

"Don't leave me! You promised!"

'Promised? Sakura?'

Layla groaned as she opened her eyes seeing a pink blur crying above her.

"Why!?"

"I'm sorry…." Blood poured out more from the wound "You...Sakura need to...live." Silver hair was turning red "My little cousin." A bloody smile greeted Sakura's shocked eyes "You...will...s-save the clan…." Layla declared to her.

"Layla! Don't leave me!" Sakura cried out as Layla groaned in pain "I can get you to a medic! They'll save you!" Sakura reasoned as she stared at the gaping hole in her chest that she caused "Why didn't you dodge? Why!?" She cried out trying to figure out why Layla would do something that foolish "Who's supposed to help me now with the clan!? I can't do this alone! Please don't leave me alone!" Sakura sobbed as she stared at her cousin's pale face that was losing color from the blood loss.

"You're stronger than you give yourself credit for...Sakura what you are going to do I know the burden you will carry will be with you till the day you die…..I'm sorry that I took the coward way out….I'll understand if you hate me….." Layla looked up into the night sky her senses going numb from the blood loss "You...are strong...you'll get through this." Sakura cried louder as her cousin's life was draining "My precious little cousin….my last request take...m-my eyes…" Sakura's eyes widen at her request.

"W-what?"

"My eyes...t-t-take...them." Layla started to cough up blood as it was filling her mouth "I don't...want...someone else taking them….y-you are the...only person I trust to protect them." Layla reached into her pouch with shaky fingers grasping a scroll and pulling it out "Here…." Layla coughed up blood as Sakura grabbed the scroll looking at it.

"This explains….everything."

Sakura sobbed at the scroll Layla gave her.

"Why? Just why!?"

Layla smiled at her even though it was a bloody one and lifted her hand weakly up to Sakura's face and poked her in the forehead.

"I believe in you."

Sakura rubbed at her eyes trying to rid herself of the tears that won't stop falling "I...know…..you will….do great…things." Layla did not doubt that Sakura would "Take...eyes please." She begged she didn't want Danzo taking them for himself as he did to the Uchiha.

"Okay, I'll do it." Sakura suddenly felt an intense pain shot through her eyes and she could feel them changing into something else "My eyes hurt." She rubbed at them irritating them more.

Layla glanced at Sakura's eyes seeing that they no longer had petals in them but were a black shuriken.

'I'm so proud of you Sakura.' Layla thought as she watched her cousin cry in turmoil at the situation at hand 'I'm so sorry that I have to leave you in this wretched world that has done nothing but made you suffer.' Tears fell down Layla's face as she was leaving her cousin alone to face the clan.

'You activated the final stage of our Kekkei genkai but at the cost of my life.'

"I'm…...proud of...you."

Layla's hand fell limp to her side and her eyes closed a small smile plastered on her face.

'I'm coming Shisui.'

"You won't ever leave me, right Layla?"

"Never Sakura, I'll always be by your side."

"LAYLA!"

Itachi sat at a bench at the tea house with Kisame as they both waited for orders from Pein since the nine tails has left the village traveling with the toad sage growing stronger they were told to wait until he has returned.

Itachi reached for his teacup but paused as he saw it crack making his eyes narrow in suspicion "Oh! Itachi that usually means something bad has happened to someone close to you." Kisame stated to him.

'Who?'

Kakashi jumped from tree branch to tree branch heading towards the sand village with his two other comrades. Their mission was to deliver an important scroll to the elders of the village. Just as Kakashi landed on a tree branch he felt someone touch his shoulder making him tense as he looked behind himself to see no one there.

'What was that?'

"Captain, you okay?"

Kakashi looked over at his teammate to see that both stopped to look back at him wondering what he was doing.

"I'm fine."

Kakashi took off again brushing off what he felt on his shoulder.

Layla appeared in a white abyss making her confused as she looked around to see nothing but then she looked down to see her injuries gone and her clothes changed to her everyday attire.

"Layla-chan."

Layla's eyes widened as she recognized the voice and who it belonged to as she turned around to see the man she loved dearly staring at her with his onyx eyes that looked sad.

"Shisui-kun."

"You shouldn't be here."

Layla smiled sadly at him.

"I sacrificed myself so my cousin could live."

Shisui flinched at her words as he remembered his own last moments with Itachi.

"I'm sorry."

Shisui looked at her confused as he saw her sob.

"I broke my promise I made to you! I wasn't by Itachi's side at all! And then he massacred his clan on orders from Danzo! And I didn't know." She rubbed at her eyes as she cried "I hated him! I blamed him for your death!" She stared at him with broken eyes.

"Why did you leave me?!"

Shisui hugged her as he let her sob into his chest.

"I didn't want to. Danzo was able to get my Sharingan cause I let my guard down and then after that everything went downhill and I was dying." He whispered as he clutched her tighter. "I went to Itachi and said goodbye and left my other Sharingan with him since I trusted him to protect it." He held her as she sobbed

"I got it back."

Shisui pulled back, staring at her confused.

"Your Sharingan." She smiled at him seeing the shock "I faced off against Danzo myself before I died and I was able to get it back." She placed her head on his chest "I buried it at your grave since we didn't have a body to bury. I thought it was best to have a part of you in the grave. It's safe. If Danzo tries to dig it up he'll be in a world of hurt." She smirked as she thought of what she did to the grave

"Thank you."

"I love you."

Shisui's eyes widened.

"My biggest regret was not telling you before you died. I've hated myself for so long."

"I love you too."

Layla sobbed as she smiled big at Shisui, her heart feeling complete at his confession.

"We're together again."

The two kissed as they vanished.
