Sam is unhappy. More so than usual. Which is saying something as Jacob doesn't think Sam has smiled properly since the day Leah turned.

The army of bloodsuckers is a new complication. Of course it explains why so many people have turned recently.

The impending fight means longer patrols, working with the Cullen's and more time away from their imprints. No one is looking forward to it.

Except the actual fight, of course. Everyone is already betting on who will kill the most? And of course Leah had to be a buzzkill and tell them not to treat it as a competition or they would all get killed.

As Sam is telling them about the new patrol schedule, along the new boundaries, which now include the woods around Bella's house, Jacob can hear multiple groans through their connections.

It's the weekend, after all. Most of them had plans.

Of course Jacob had volunteered to pick up any extra shifts that he could. But Sam had wanted to be fair to everyone.

As everyone shifts back to go to Emily and Sam's, Jacob debates on going to Bella's house.

Paul groans. Dude. You need to get over that girl.

She's not just some girl. He counters. I love her.

Paul just shakes his head and phases back.

He makes his decision and turns towards Bella's house.

Of course all of them think he's crazy. But he can't help but think of what ifs. What if he's right and Bella is his imprint. What if he imprints on her after she turns into a vampire. He couldn't just let that happen. Of course he was going to fight for her.

His brothers kept telling him that's not how imprinting works. But the words on his wrist make him think otherwise. He doesn't know any other person who would be on her way to become a vampire. So it has to be Bella. His imprint. And he'll do everything he could to make sure she doesn't turn into a vampire. Even if it means he'll never imprint on her.
