The scene faded into a shot of the earth from space, an astronaut banging on a shoddily made satellite with a wrench. Unsurprisingly this caused the satellite to break, marshmallows floating out of the device as the astronaut face-palmed.
"We've been to the movies, we've been around the world, and this season we're going back right where it all began; at Camp Wawanakwa!" The voice of Chris narrated as the camera zoomed in on said host. "I'm Chris Mclean, and as you can see, things have changed since we've been away." As he said this, the sign saying "Wawanakwa" broke off. "And by changed, I meant gotten really, REALLY, dangerous." As Chris grabbed a coconut drink from his lanky intern who wore the standard red shirt, a sudden tentacle arm came from within the lake and smashed part of the docks, which the host managed to side step in time. As for the intern…
Mildly shocked, Chris broke out into a chuckle as he leaned over the broken part of the dock. "Hehe, good stuff." The host straightened his back and pointed upwards as if he had remembered what he was doing with a much more serious face. "The rules of the game remain the same, a handful of unsuspecting teens will bunk with complete strangers." As he said this, the scene panned over to the inside of the cabins, punctuating the less than quality living conditions.
The scene panned over to the confessional. "Air their dirty laundry in our outhouse confessional." flies buzzed around the already unhygienic toilet.
Next, the camera panned to the infamous cliff, zooming on some sharp looking rocks as Chris finished his narration. "And compete in life threatening challenges all over the island."
Finally, the camera settled at the campfire. "And risk being voted off. Last one standing wins One. Million. Dollars!~.
The camera flashed back onto Chris as he took a small sip of his drink and smiled at the camera. Sudden blaring music came on as the host smirked. "Speaking of our cast, here they are now!"
A boat came sailing along as it carried all of the original cast members. It first panned over to Duncan and Gwen kissing; and LeShawna, Harold and DJ dancing with Eva standing stoically. It then panned over to Owen dancing, Sierra hugging Cody (which he didn't appear to mind strangely enough) and Noah was deadpanned as he looked at Izzy dangling over the edge of the boat with two life guard rings. Panning upwards were Tyler and Lindsay dangerously kissing on the rails, and Beth admiring Justin's modelling before being hit with bird poo (1). Over to the right Katie and Sadie were smothering a very uncomfortable Trent with their hugs, Courtney glared on ahead with an empowering stance, Geoff and Bridgette were dancing, and Heather was being carried unwillingly by a strange robot. Also Ezekiel was chained by the neck as his tongue dangled out of his mouth.
Unexpectedly, the boat didn't stop at the docks, instead skipping past them as a sudden radio spike stopped the blaring music with Owen crying, "NOOOOO." In the distance. Chris only laughed to himself as the camera settled back on him.
No~ Not those guys, this season we've got all new players fighting for the million! And here they come now! For real!"
As he said, a new boat came into view with seemingly sixteen new competitors.
The camera first panned onto a mean looking white girl with dirty blonde hair and a grey tracksuit. Her stance was defensive as she crossed her arms in two. "Meet Jo."
The mean looking girl, now known as Jo, glanced over to a ginger boy who looked like he had hygienic issues. "Stay outta my way if you value your kiwis." she threatened.
"Scott!" The camera moved a little to the right to showcase that the ginger was wearing a raggy white vest and baggy jeans.
The ginger, known as Scott, straightened his back as he gave Jo a nasty look. "Right back atcha." he then proceeded to sniff his armpits.
"Zoey and Mike!" Zoey was a pretty looking girl with cherry red hair tied into two pigtails. She wore a sleeveless red shirt underneath a pink denim jacket. She wore khaki leggings and wedge black shoes. Most noticeably was the pink flower in her hair and the horn rimmed glasses she wore.
Mike looked brooding with black spiky hair and tanned skin. He wore a plain black jacket with blue jeans and black sneakers. Not much else was noticeable about him unlike his companion.
Speaking of, Zoey gently elbowed Mike, making the boy blink out of surprise as Zoey initiated conversation. "Can you believe we're here!" she exclaimed excitedly, causing Mike to wince as he looked at Zoey.
"Yeah, it's… Exactly as it looks on TV." Mike settled on apprehensively.
"Lightning!"
Before Zoey could respond, both her and Mike were pushed apart with the broody boy yelling in anger off screen.
"Hello Gorgeous!" Lightning said as he kissed his flexed muscles. Lightning looked to be a jock as he wore a blue jersey shirt with the number "1" shown on the front, gray shorts, and a lightning shaped necklace.
"Brick!" The boy known as Brick, who had caught Zoey, promptly dropped her as he saluted to seemingly no one. He had a stocky build with buzz cut hair and an unflattering unibrow. He wore a tight green shirt with black cargo shorts and black military combat boots.
"Brick McArthur reporting for duty, sir!" He said with a loud voice.
"B!" B was a very large boy with a dark complexion. He wore a black trench coat, brown jumper, denim shorts with red shoes and an orange hat. "And Dawn." In a lotus position, the wispy girl was of short stature with an unhealthy pale complexion and platinum blonde hair. She wore a green jumper with a black skirt and lavender tights with black shoes.
"You're aura is exceptionally purplish-green," Dawn told B serenely. Noticing the side glance, she clarified. "Oh but it suits you though!" Though he had nothing to say, B's face suggested he responded positively.
"Dakota!" Said girl casually leaned towards the camera. She was an attractive girl with a tan complexion and blonde straight hair. She wore a bubblegum pink shirt with hot pink pants. "Hey there!" Dakota waved, giggling to herself, "Dakota here, and I'm here to-"
"Anne Maria!" Anne Maria had a voluptuous body with very tanned skin, questionably fake, with long poofy hair. She was a deep mauve top with skinny jeans. She was currently spraying herself with hair spray, momentarily distracting Dakota.
"Aww yeah, three more coats oughta do it."
Dakota was not having any and pushed her out of the way, "WOAH! Who said you could pan away!"
Anne Maria quickly sprayed the bubblegum wearing girl in the face, causing her to shriek, "DON'T PUSH ME BLONDIE!"
"Staci~" Staci was an overweight, unattractive girl with short mousy brown hair. She wore a pink tracksuit and a red ribbon noticeably in her hair. She approached the two girls fighting.
"My great aunt Millie invented sun tans, not fake tans, maybe you should try it sometime yah?."
She too was quickly shot in the face with spray tan.
The camera quickly panned upwards, "Cameron!" Cameron was a small boy with shaven hair. He wore a baggy red jumper, yellow shorts along with orange shoes and socks pulled up a little too much.
He whiffed the air and sighed happily, "Fresh air! A real lake! Birds!" Unluckily for Cameron, those same birds happened to attack him, they pushed him over the rails and fell off.
Panning downwards showed a girl who noticed what was going on and held her arms out to catch him. "Fran!" Fran was of average height with a slim body. She had honey blonde hair styled into a braided ponytail which dangled over her shoulder. She had grey blue eyes. She wore a mint green shirt under a sunshine yellow cardigan, denim shorts and plain looking flip flops. Finally she wore a signature straw hat.
"You gotta be more careful," Fran said as she put Cameron down. He squeaked an apology as his face turned red from embarrassment.
"And Sam!" Sam was a roundish boy with messy brown hair and unkempt facial hair. He wore a mix of beige, orange and yellow shirt. He had blue shorts and orange shoes along with his defining looking glasses. He didn't have anything to say as he kept playing on his console.
The camera panned back to Chris as he raised his coconut drink. "Yup, this is our roughest, toughest, most EXPLOSIVE season EVER." He then pulled out a detonator, and quickly pressed the button with a grin.
(Theme Song)
After the theme song, the scene opened up on Cameron screaming as he landed on a rock. "Is this what pain tastes like…?" He moaned before sliding back into the water. Anne Maria was swimming aggressively in the background, promising some beatdowns.
The scene cut over to Zoey and Staci as they shared a log together, before Jo ruined that by swimming directly into them, causing the log to break. "Outta the way! Tri athlete coming through!" she exclaimed as she climbed on Sam and dunked him into the water, causing the poor boy to start drowning.
Panning over to Fran, she was attempting to help a wailing Cameron who struggled harder than she expected him to. "Quit panicking and hold onto me or else we're both going to drown!" she attempted to reason, not that he had heard her.
Scott swimming by noticed the struggling duo. "Spazz," Scott commented not so nicely.
"Jerkwad!" Fran retorted immediately, glaring at the ginger who let her continue struggling with Cameron. "Umm, you're starting to strangle me now…" Cameron was clinging to her neck, making it harder for her to breathe.
Suddenly, Lightning made an appearance and carried Fran with one arm as Cameronn started to calm down and clung to Fran's shoulders instead. "I'll save you little girls!" Lightning exclaimed, Cameron made a quick quip that he was not a girl while Fran scoffed rolling her eyes.
Dakota for some reason had an inflatable boat and was calmly relaxing as some paparazzi took pictures of her posing, "Hi fellas, however did you find me?" she attempted to say coyly.
One of the cameramen replied to this. "Uhh, we got ya text?"
For some, very clearly unknown reason, the boat exploded. Dakota, caught in the impact, managed to knock both Fran and Cameron as they both collided into Anne Maria's hair.
"No touching the poof!" Anne Maria said, before casually swimming off, letting Fran have to drag Cameron to shore.
Panning over to Staci, she had Zoey in a headlock as she continued to struggle to stay afloat. "I-if t-this is m-my time I'm t-taking down an u-unfairly a-attractive g-girl down w-with me!" Staci wheezed.
Mike noticed the struggle Zoey was having, breathing through his nose in annoyance, he swam over and took Staci's other arm; allowing the redheaded girl some much needed breath. "T-thanks! I owe you one" Zoey said shakily. Mike hummed in response.

*Confessional: Mike*
The brooding boy smacked a toilet roll as he looked around, unimpressed. "This is about as much of a dump as I expected it to be." He commented. He sighed as he leaned back on the seat slightly. "Everyone so far is generally annoying, especially Zoey, I helped her one time and she clings to me like a lost puppy." Mike said, though he didn't sound convincing as he bit his lip and looked to side in confliction
XXX
*Confessional: Zoey*
The chipper girl looked much happier as she squealed in excitement. "I can't believe I'm actually in the Total Drama confessional! It's so exciting! Everyone seems so nice! Especially Mike, he's a complete sweetheart!" Zoey grew a little less happier as she talked about another topic. "I could do with some new friends, or, well, friends period really." She then grew distressed. "What if they hate me? Maybe this flower was too big? Maybe the glasses make me look weird? Am I trying too hard? You like me, right? Zoey asked the confessional camera, not without her eyes drooping and donning a frown.

Jo panted as she looked around, before letting out a cheer. "Woohoo! That's what I'm talking about! First one on the… Guhh." Jo finished, noticing someone else beat her to shore. This happened to be Dawn in her lotus position. "How did you…? You're not even wet!"
Dawn side glanced at Jo, momentarily confused, before replying. "Oh, I used a shortcut." she replied.
Brick was the next one on shore, panting heavily as he was not a very strong swimmer. "Ma'am?" he uttered out, before promptly crashing into the sand.
XXX
*Confessional: Brick*
Brick looked composed as he began his confessional. "I may not be the strongest swimmer, but I'm definitely the strongest one in the game right now. But I'm all about teamwork, back in the cadets I took the teamwork medal three years running." he smacked his hand into his open palm. "Also the bed making medal, the flag folding medal and the writing letters back to home medal. I always win that one." he grinned.

Cameron coughed as he stood on B's head who did not look any worse for wear. Fran trudged behind them, made her way to the nearest rock and hid her face in her hands.
XXX
*Confessional: Cameron*
Cameron sat upright as he began his confessional. "I'm what's known as a… bubble boy." he grimaced and wiped his hands with sanitizer. "Growing up, my mom was REALLY overprotective, so I've never gone swimming before." He explained. "Up until six hours ago, I hadn't done much of anything before. Except read and sigh a lot." He then proceeded to sigh. "That doesn't mean I'm not a force to be reckoned with!" Cameron tried to say confidently, but his face betrayed his facade.
XXX
*Confessional: Fran*
Fran rested her head on knee, she was glaring at the camera. "If that misogynistic jock, ginger pit sniffer rat and that tanned hag think they're getting off scotch free, they have another thing coming." She slammed her fist in her palm, before continuing with a slight smile. "Cameron is so funny, he's easy to tease. He has the intellect of Einstein but the common sense of a little kid. As they say, intelligence is madness." She shrugged at the camera. "As for me I'd like to think that being socially savvy and mad resourceful will carry me pretty far into the game, but who knows right?" she chuckled.

"My great, great, great, great, Aunt Marjorie created money, yah? I can like, totally give you some for saving my life, it would have been such a travesty to the world if my mother's and father's greatest creation was non-existent, which is me by the way, because I'm great." Staci rambled in Zoey's ear. She looked fed up, but didn't have the heart to say anything.
Mike took notice of this. "Why don't you shut up? Little red clearly ain't listening cause you're so annoying." He said harshly, causing Staci to try and retort before Zoey stepped in.
"I am listening! I'm stoked to be here, I've been watching Total Drama since forever, and I'm hoping to make some new friends!" she said, a bit desperately.
"Aww, Zoey, that's so nice of you! My great, great, great, great Uncle Frank created the concept of friendship, and being friends with me is great! We can totally be friends!"
Mike pretended to gag while Zoey forced a smile.
"Yes, that would be good for the both of you. Especially since Zoey's an only child and Staci's own family ignore her."
Both girls reacted differently.
"Ehh, who told you that?" Zoey asked, a little freaked out.
"My great aunt Lila created the concept of lying, yah? You're a major liar, my family, like, totally love listening to me so that means you're a liar." Staci said in denial.
Dawn leaned forwards and took Zoey's hands, much to the discomfort of the other girl. "Your soul reads like an open book, you had such a lonely childhood, it must've been difficult."
Mike started to distance himself away from this soul reading girl before the loud speakers made a noise.
"Attention fresh meat! See the trail leading into the forest? Race to the end of the trail, and do not disturb the wildlife, that would be bad."
Lightning nudged Sam jokingly. "Yeah, we wouldn't wanna upset the bunnies." Sam nodded along.
"The tiniest sound can set them off, like this."
A loud honking noise came through, and mysteriously a tree was knocked over. Everyone screamed and began running, or in Staci's case, power walking.
As the scene faded back in, Jo and Lightning ran on screen and crossed the line in respective. Jo cheered and smirked over to Lightning. "Sorry you had to lose to a girl." She said cockily.
Lightning looked around, panicked. "What girl? Lightning don't lose to anyone bro, Lightning never loses."
Before Jo could remark, Chris rolled up on a bike of sorts. "Captain Modesty, two steps left you're on team A. Yo, Jo? Move to the right. You're team B." Scott ran in next, closely followed behind by Brick. Pit Sniffer, Team A, Corporal Brickhouse, Team B." B ran in next, this time closely followed by Fran. "Silent Treatment, Team A. Damsel in Distress, Team B." Dakota came on next, skidding to a halt. "Princess wannabe, Team A." Mike and Zoey both ran in at the same time. "Zoey the Lonely, Team B. Aura Whisperer, Team A." Mike looked confused, before noticing Dawn next to him. "Brooding bad boy, Team B." Sam crawled his way across the finish line. "Gamer Junkie, Team A." Anne Maria followed, walking casually, with Staci appearing shortly behind. "Tan in a Can, Team B. Chatty Staci, Team A." Cameron was the last one to arrive, panting heavily. "Bubble boy, Team B."
"My great Uncle Walter created walking, yah, he said that walking is less tiring than running, and he was totally right."
"Fascinating." Chris replied.
"What the heck was that thing back there?" Scott ran up, panicked.
"I'm pretty sure that noise does not belong to any known species." Cameron said.
Chris held up his hands. "Relax, it'll all make sense eventually." he then laughed evilly like a villain out of James Bond.
The campers shrugged in confusion.
Chris wiped a tear away before continuing. "Now, this season of Total Drama will be a little bit different. For example, every episode, someone will be eliminated."
Everyone gasped in surprise. "It's never been that hard before." Zoey said uneasily.
"I know, I'm good. Now since you're all first timers, I'm gonna cut you a break and hide this bad boy somewhere in the camp ground." he explained, holding up a Chris statue. "This statue is your free ticket back into the game, even if your teammates vote you off. Whoever finds it will become the most powerful player in Total Drama History!"
Chris squinted at the replica statue. "Is the cleft on my chin really that big?"
"Yup, and it looks like a butt." Scott remarked, getting a couple of chuckles out of the campers.
Chris glared at Scott. "Moving on, time for the team names!"
"Team Lightning! No, wait, Lightning Squad~! "
"Great suggestions Lightning, but the names have already been chosen by moi. Team A, you shall henceforth be known as the Toxic Rats.
The Toxic Rats logo appeared above the team of: Lightning, Scott, B, Dakota, Dawn, Sam and Staci.
"Killer." Sam said.
"And Team B, you are hereby dubbed the Mutant Maggots."
The Mutant Maggots logo appeared above the team of: Jo, Brick, Fran, Zoey, Mike, Anne Maria and Cameron.
"What's with all of the references to chemical waste?" Mike asked suspiciously, his eyes narrowed.
Suddenly a loud growl could be heard, startling the group. "What keeps making that noise!?" Fran shouted. Trees kept getting knocked over, causing Zoey to hug Mike out of fear. The brooding boy was so caught off guard that he blushed and held his arms up above his waist, not wanting to reciprocate the hug.
The bush in front of them started shaking, only for a small squirrel to jump out of it.
"Hey, it's just a stupid squirrel." Jo scoffed indignantly.
"Aww." Dakota cood. The squirrel blinked horizontally, causing the girl to shriek in fright as Dawn gasped.
"Oh my gosh, what's wrong with it?" Dawn asked.
"While we were gone, I rented the island out to a nice family oriented bio-hazardous waste disposal company. Sweet people." Chris said. "But the waste is having a teensy bit of an impact on the flora and fauna."
"Cool." Sam chuckled.
Dakota's curiosity got the better of her as she crouched down next to the squirrel. "Weird~ I want one." she reached out a hand to pet the squirrel. The small animal roared in her face, causing Dakota to shriek in fright and retreat into Sam's arms. Realizing what she had done, she gave him a look.
Chris laughed maniacally. "Most. Danger. EVERRRRR."

*Confessional: Dakota*
Dakota was weeping in the confessional, her face in her hands. "Chris is the meanest ever!" She stopped weeping. "Hang on." She told the camera, taking out a pocket mirror. "Not too blotchy, okay, take two." she cleared her throat before weeping again.

"Now before we start our very first challenge of the season, let's give out some rewards. Jo, because you made it up here before anyone else, your team gets a trampoline. And the rats get a hacksaw." Chris explained. Chef suddenly fell off the trampoline.
Lightning, before getting hit with a hacksaw. Jo laughed at Lightning's pain, before she got hit with a trampoline.
"What do these items have to do with this bomb?"
"You won't blow us up again, will you?" Fran asked uncomfortably, crossing her arms.
Chris smirked in response. "Won't I? Find out when we come back!"
The faded back to show us two totem poles being suspended by rope. "These are your team totems, you need to cut them down, get them in the river, and ride them back to the campgrounds. First team there gets their pick of the cabins. But hurry, the totems are rigged with bombs that will explode if you don't plant them from your cabin in seven minutes or less. Starting now."
"Alright let's do this!" Jo pumped herself up, jumping on the trampoline. Unfortunately she ended up bouncing into the river causing her to yell.
"Stand back!" Lightning told Dakota and Staci. "Lightning is on it!"
"Don't have to tell me twice." Staci shrugged, sitting down. As Lightning fell down, Staci made a quip. "My great, great, great, great Uncle Jim created the first ever gym, I've never gone, but it looks like you could use some more exercise."
Lightning growled at Staci. "Lightning NEVER quits!"
"It's too bad that my fourth cousin Phil isn't here, he invented popcorn and I could really use some." Staci said as she continued to watch Lightning fall.
"Yeah, and my uncle Doug created diets, you should try it." Dakota told Staci snidely in an attempt to defend Lightning.
B looked thoughtful.
Panning over to the Maggots, Cameron was explaining his calculations. "Okay if Jo hits the center of the trampoline with fifty pounds of pressure per square inch."
Anne Maria smacked him out of the way, walking towards the trampoline. "Outta the way, I wanna crack at this."
Cameron panicked as he tried to stop the girl. "But I calculated for Jo's weight!"
Anne Maria failed to listen as a result kept hitting the totem pole. Mike noticeably laughed at this, like he had heard something really funny. Zoey did not find this amusing, "You shouldn't laugh, she could get really hurt!"
"The universe would be too kind if she actually got hurt from this." Mike said, not noticing how uneasy Zoey looked.
Fran finally took pity on the tanned girl and kicked the trampoline out of the way. When she fell with a thud, she talked down to her. "Next time, try listening."

"Sure I wanna win a million bucks." Anne Maria said, cross legged. "But not at the expense of my looks, I mean, have you seen me? Perfect tan, perfect hair, all this is worth a billion, easy."

"Keep climbing, put those muscles to good use." Staci shouted up mockingly as Lightning slid down the tree again.
B suddenly took her arm, directing her to a seesaw. "Oh, you want me on this thing?" She asked the silent genius. B gave a thumbs up.
He then took Sam's arm and directed him under the tree. "You want me here?" B gave Sam a thumbs up.
B then jumped on the other end of the seesaw, causing Staci to scream as she landed on top of Sam, making the others realize what he's trying to do. Before Lightning fell to the ground again and groaned.

Lightning looked angry. "First of all, tree climbing is not a recognized sport, plus, that tree was covered in butter or something. But if Chris is trying to make the Lightning look bad, he can think again. Lightning never gives up, and never surrenders! Especially not to tubbo's like the fat girl. Sha-Lightining!" He posed.

"Time to win this!" Brick exclaimed as he jumped on the trampoline and reached up. He managed to grip an axe that had been lodged into the totem pole. Unfortunately, he had no further plans and started panicking.
"Good grief."
"What a baby."
"Pull it out!"
Fran decided it was her turn to act. "I have an idea, I'm coming up there Brick, get ready!"
"Ready? What fo-"
Before he could finish his sentence, Fran had jumped on the trampoline and managed to wrap her arms around Brick's waist, causing Brick to wince at the added weight. "We have to pull at the same time, alright?"
Brick suddenly grew embarrassed. "Wait, stop!"
But it was too late, Fran began trying to pull the axe out of the totem pole with Brick hanging onto dear life. It took three tugs before Brick couldn't hold on and let go, falling to the ground and crushing Fran in the process.
Mike however noticed something he found funny. "Oh dude, you peed your pants? Gross, haha!"
Brick flushed in shame, "No! You're seeing things, sorry Fran but I have a challenge to win, I'll make it up to you ma'am." he quickly covered his crotch area and jumped on the trampoline, quickly ending up in the same position as last time.
Zoey was looking at Mike with a frown as she helped Fran up.

*Confessional: Zoey*
"When I'm with Mike, he's the sweetest person in the world and I feel safe around him. I don't like that he's making fun of people either getting hurt or embarrassing themselves, but he's my only friend and I don't want to lose that same friendship in one day." Zoey confessed, an anxious look on her face as she readjusted her glasses. "Am I a bad friend if I don't stop him from doing that?" She questioned worriedly.
XXX
Panning back to the rats, they had been making swift progress as they had managed to make a human totem pole.
Back with the maggots Brick was still struggling to pull out the axe. A squirrel climbed up to him, which Brick tried shooing away. He managed to make the squirrel angry as it roared in his face, causing him to scream.
Mike suddenly had an epiphany as he picked up a rock and hurled it at the squirrel without any warning. The squirrel was furious after that and went on a rampage with his laser eyes.
"In hindsight not my greatest idea." Mike lamented as he ran around, trying to dodge the squirrel's attack.
The rats had nearly finished their human totem pole now that Dawn was on top of Lightning. "One more person oughta do it!" Sam said. "Dakota?"
Said girl was posing on a log in front of a paparazzi. For some, clearly unknown reason, the tree fell down blocking Dakota's view of the cameras. Chris came on screen, chainsaw in hand. "Timberrrrrr."
"Take it easy!" Dakota whined.
The maggots were still being terrorized by the shooting squirrel. The squirrel then decided to try and shoot at Brick. "Ahh! Not the face!" Suddenly, the squirrel shot at the axe, the light beam reflecting off of it and cutting the rope causing it and Brick to fall down with it. The maggots cheered as Brick saluted. "Mission accomplished." Before the totem pole fell on him.
Over on the other team, B had forcefully carried Dakota to the seesaw and jumped on the other side sending her flying. Since Dakota wasn't ready, instead of standing on Dawn she ended up sitting on her shoulders and covering Dawn's eyes. "Saw the ropes!" She told Dakota, seemingly not bothered.
"How are you supposed to? It's not working!" Dakota exclaimed, not realizing she was using the wrong side of the hacksaw.
"Teeth down on the rope!" Sam shouted up to her.
"No girl, you cannot be that dumb!" Lightning shouted.
"Pretend it's daddy's stakeknife." Dawn advised, which Dakota appeared to understand.
"Oh." She said to herself, giggling as she switched the side of the hacksaw and began to properly cut the rope. "There!" She said as the totem pole began to fall.
Sam chucked. "B, change your name to A plus!"

The scene showed the maggots riding their totem pole along the river. The rats are not far behind them.
"They're gaining on us!" Jo shouted, seeing the other team behind her.
"Ma'am, it is my formal duty to inform you that we have bigger problems." Brick said, pointing up ahead.
They all gasped at the sight of a waterfall. "My first waterfall!" Cameron exclaimed excitedly.
"And possibly our last!" Fran screamed with terror.
With that said, the maggots totem fell off the waterfall, but instead of landing in more water, they missed the pond and hit the hill instead, causing a strong collision which all minus Zoey who screamed managed to cling onto.
Before she could fall off the totem pole, Mike quickly grabbed a hold of her wrists and wrapped them around his waist. "Hold on tight, I don't want you falling off, alright?" Mike said in a concerned tone.
"Okay, thanks Mike…" Zoey said, blushing lightly as she dug her head into his back. Without anyone seeing, Mike blushed heavier at the physical contact.
The rats followed behind, they too missed the pond and joined them on the same hill. B moved his arm forward, which Dawn translated. "B wants us to lean forwards!" They all followed his command without another word.
"Hey how did they get in front of us!" Jo exclaimed indignantly.
The scene then focused on the cabins where Chris and Chef were relaxing. Suddenly, they heard yelling and saw the rats heading straight for them.
"Woohoo! First place!" Lightning exclaimed. "Go team Lightning!"
"Quick grab the good cabin!" Scott ordered.
They dragged (2) the totem pole all the way to it's standee and placed it there. With one second remaining, they had won the challenge.
Unfortunately, when the maggots came they all fell off the totem pole and the totem pole crashed into the good cabin, causing it to explode.
"Too bad, it had an eight person hot tub and some air conditioning."
This caused the Toxic Rats to groan in disappointment.
"Fear not! Because you technically completed the challenge, you guys are safe!"
This cheered up the Toxic Rats as they all cheered.
"Mutant Maggots, what can I say? As epic as that entrance was, you lost, I'll be seeing your sorry butts at tribal council."
The Mutant Maggots groaned in response.
"As for the Toxic Rats' cabin, no worries, we have a backup just in case something like this happens." Chris grinned, a helicopter carrying a shoddy cabin and placing it where the nice one was previously. They groaned.
The scene faded into tribal council as Anne Maria, Brick, Cameron, Fran, Jo, Mike, and Zoey eagerly awaited their fates.
"The votes are cast." Chris said, bringing in six marshmallows on a plate. "Those who get a marshmallow can stay, this season one player will receive a very special marshmallow, a marshmallow you do not want to eat. Whoever gets the marshmallow of loserdom, is out of the contest which means you can't come back, EVER."
"Tell that to Gwen." Fran snarked, causing a chuckle from everyone else.
"The following players are safe: Mike and Zoey, you two are the only ones who didn't receive a vote this tribal, you're safe."
Zoey cheered while Mike smirked, both taking their marshmallows.
"Anne Maria and Fran , you two are also safe."
Fran smiled as Anne Maria took her marshmallow greedily.
"The penultimate marshmallow goes to Jo."
"Of course it does." Jo said, not so humbly.
"Brick, Cameron, this is the last marshmallow." Chris said solemnly, making both boys sweat. "Brick, you were a major liability to your team in this challenge and delayed your team from making progress." Brick hung his head in shame. "And Cameron, your lack of any athletic ability could prove to be a large liability in the future." Cameron seemed more frustrated after hearing that.
"The marshmallow of loserdom and walking down the dock of shame is…"

"From here on out? There will be." Chris said seriously. "I just wanted you all to get a feel for how you'll work as a team, and I gotta say, you guys are a hot mess. You better get it together dudes or I'll be seeing you guys here a lot." Chris grinned.
"Despite the anti-climatic ending, the drama has only just begun! And leaving anyone out would break my heart!" Chris said cynically.
"If you REALLY wanna know who will be the first person eliminated? Tune in the next episode of Total. Drama. REVENGE OF THE ISLAND."

1: When looking at everyone super closely, you'll notice that Justin actually has bird poo land on him which was a detail I never caught till I did a proper re-watch.
2: When the Toxic Rats are carrying the totem pole, if you look closely you'll notice that Dawn actually dangles from the ground while everyone else is running, I thought this was really funny.
A/N: Well guys I hope you enjoyed this first chapter! I'm really sorry if it seems like it was just a recount, I hope I added in enough elements to make it original from it's canon counterpart. First things first I'll explain why I had the Mutant Maggots lose. The reason for this is because The Toxic Rats technically completed the challenge whereas the Mutant Maggots did not, therefore they went to tribal. The reason I didn't eliminate anyone is exactly as Chris says it, I want enough time to develop all of the characters if I can so I figured keeping everyone in the first episode wasn't such a bad idea.
Now most damning of all, some character changes I need to explain.
I'll start with Zoey since she's the easiest. My intention for Zoey is to amplify her anxiety and desperation to give her a bit more personality as I thought this was a lost opportunity in canon. She's not meant to be a socially savvy person, so allowing people to walk over her, whether she likes them or not, I figured was a better introduction to her character now that she has a moral dilemma to go through.
Mike is a little bit trickier since I'm experimenting with him the most admittedly, but I do want to make clear that Mike does indeed still have multiple personality disorder. I really wanted to establish this new Mike before introducing anyone else. I don't believe for one second that a teenager with multiple personality is happy go lucky usually, I felt it was more realistic to make Mike more brooding and cruel, but yearns for affection and normalcy. Hopefully this portrayal wasn't too off putting.
And finally, Staci. I fully intended for her to go this episode, but the more I experimented with her, the funnier I actually found her to be. I think there's a lot of potential with Staci and I wanna take advantage of that. Plus she was easily my favorite character to write this episode, selectively choosing when to be annoying and when to be a savage. I hope you guys like this version of Staci too because I'm happy with how she came out this episode.
As for Fran, I hope she came out alright? I really disliked how the teams and genders were uneven in canon, so I fixed that by adding in Fran. I tried to give her a voice, but also made sure she didn't take up the entire episode. I'm hoping to develop her along with the rest of the cast too.
That's it from me, hope you guys have an awesome day!
With love - Quillegy
